I can turn anything around to make it sound healthy... (problem is I can't take my own advice!)

for exercise!

Maybe if I'd actually get my work done in the office and stop chit chatting I could get the exercise challenge up eh?

Funny thing about ham... I was cooking ham steaks on the grill the other day and a huge ospray came flying by.. really close, I think he wanted to steal my ham!
What is an ospray??

Erica's commander (or whatever you call the person in charge in the NAVY) was standing next to Erica when she got my message and he said he would help her make arrangements to get home quickly. He was flying back to the states today himself and was able to arrange for her to fly with him. I wish the circumstances for her coming home were different, but I am so grateful to finally see my daughter and grateful to the U.S. NAVY for helping her get home so quick.

Hope everyone is doing great on the challenge. I'm still OP, just not going to the gym. I know I need to stay healthy in order to help my sister, so I will definitely be sticking to my healthy diet. The exercise I will fit in when I can, but I'm not stressing about it.

Again, thanks for your friendship...it means so much to come on here and feel your support.

p.s. For those of you that mentioned dealing with your own family members who are ill, I am praying for them as well.
Enjoy your time with your daughter.

I don't even want to talk about winter!!

I am off from work today, and this is a much needed break. I'm glad the weather is nice.. my plans for the day include lots of cleaning, and getting outside to re-do w2d3 of c25k.. I did it inside on my tramp on monday but it's just not the same. I was planning to start week 3 today but i'm not quite ready. I'll start it friday instead. I'm going to go out later this afternoon when it's warmer. have i mentioned i'm cold? I'm cold!!

I am having a hard time getting motivated to do ANYTHING today and i have floors that need cleaning really badly :/
Its cold here today too, actually it has been all week. Enjoy your day off!

Im so glad to hear that he will be ok and that it is nothing serious.

I've thought about veggie gardening, though I live on a beach/barrier island so I think I'd have to do something special, like above ground boxes or something? Do you have a garden?

It is brown on the upperparts and predominantly whitish on the head and underparts, with a brownish eyepatch and wings.

The Osprey tolerates a wide variety of habitats, nesting in any location near a body of water providing an adequate food supply. It is found on all continents except Antarctica although in South America it occurs only as a non-breeding migrant.

As its other common names suggest, the Osprey's diet consists almost exclusively of fish. It has evolved specialised physical characteristics and exhibits some unique behaviours to assist in hunting and catching prey. As a result of these unique characteristics, it has been given its own taxonomic genus, Pandion and family, Pandionidae. Four subspecies are usually recognised. Despite its propensity to nest near water, the Osprey is not a sea-eagle.
They are very pretty birds and have a high pitch squeal... my mom and I used to call to them when we were out on the boat cause they nest on top of the markers.

We have a family of them that live near my work (cause its near the water) and you can hear them calling to each other in the trees.

Thanks Michelle.

Nice looking birds. Kinda remind me of an eagle.

I would love to grow some vegetables (or anything edible for that matter)! Does it require a yard? Does anyone know of anything that can be grown in a pot on a sunny balcony?

Tomatoes are great container plants, however, you need a lot of sunshine...pretty much 7-8 hours worth. Does your balcony get afternoon sun? That would probably be enough.

You'd probably have to use a garden box of some sort since its sandy.

I don't have a garden, but I have enough land and back yard that if I want one I can put one in.

Right now we are focusing on getting the front yard and flower gardens setup before my hubby's birthday in May... We still have to get the backyard graded and plained off since the seller decided to rip out all of the fruit bearing trees the original owner had in the back yard

It absolutely does! That is a great idea since I am constantly lamenting the price of tomatos and they are one of my favorite foods. I've also heard that homegrown tomatos are much tastier than store bought ones-- though I don't know how that could be possible!
Thanks for the tip!

I know I keep seeing infomercials for upside down hanging tomato plants.

The one thing I keep telling myself I want for christmas is one of those indoor gardens that grows fresh herbs... God only knows how many recipes I have that say "fresh" something and I have to guess how much that is in the dried stuff.

Not to mention I'm one helluva cook when I put my mind to it.

This might be because tomatoes are mainly water based ( I think) they probably absorb a lot of the chemicals used to keep them bug free.

I know the organic ones are and taste much better than generic ones.

Fresh herbs would be nice too... I've been using those 99 cent bottles of herbs from CVS and sometimes they start to taste alike...
