Obviously Melissa is a bad influence on her people. In the words of a great southern lady (Weezer on Steel Magnolias) ... "You are evil and must be destroyed" I say down with the "watered down" red cheerleader!
[COLOR=indigo] Francie, what game did you get?? I'm waiting for Wii Fit to come out. Jeff's been playing a bit of the new Smash Brothers; I tried playing it with the Wii controler, but it was horrible! Definitely needs the GameCube controller.
I should start playing tennis and boxing on the Wii--that wil help get my exercise minutes up
I got Cooking Mama Cook Off..I have the 2 games of that for the DS and I just love it!! Dh wants the Smash Brothers..and I just want a ton of games, lol. My arms used to be so sore playing tennis, baseball and boxing. But now they dont hurt at all when I play those games. I'm FINALLY better at some video games than dh!! Muwhahaha LoL!!

She's been gone since December 2004 and Mother's Day is still a rough time to get through. If you need to chat, please feel free to PM me. We're here for you.
My mom comes into my dreams A LOT!! It seems like whenever I need her, she'll just come to me in my dreams. Mother's Day is pretty hard for me too. I sometimes feel depressed or bitter about it.

I really wanna write for a celeb gossip magizine or have my own celeb blog like Perez Hilton!!! I live for celeb gossip, lol. Or maybe a personal shopper. I think that would be fun. I pretty much want any job that would bring me closer to a celeb, lol. But only the nice, fun ones. Heck, I'd even take Perez himself!!!

LOL!!! I know right..I already have a ton of movies picked out to watch this weekend. I'm having a Jake Gyllenhall/Brad Pitt movie marathon. Except I wont be watching Seven. That movie freaks me out, lol.

I know that you can reserve your copy of the Wii. I think its comes out sometime in May. Maybe May 10th?? I cant remember. Someone on this board said that the Wii Fit wasnt really ment for exercise. Its just more fun. But I dunno. Any game that has you moving all around sounds like an exercise to me.
Good morning everyone... So I go away for a day and come back to find an exercise challenge! And I got no exercise yesterday to help us out!
Well, today things will be different... I'll be walking and lunch, and I'll be walking the 2 miles home from work this evening. That makes about 70 minutes for me to add to the total. Tomorrow I think I'll throw my bike on the bus in the morning so I can ride home from work, then I'll either do more walking in the evening or toss in a TurboJam or yoga DVD. That's my plan, anyway. My activity level is shamefully low right now, hopefully having a team depending on me will help me get it up where it needs to be! I'm sure I can at least make it to the closer beach, right?
Now that everybody's read the plan, if I come back making excuses about how I didn't get the exercise in you all have my permission to kick me in the rear.
I think it's AWESOME that our little blue gal got 'officialized' by the powers that be around here!
QOTD: Ooh, I'd love to be one of those people who gets paid by the Travel channel to go around to different spas and critique them But more realistically, my dream is to own a B&B in a secluded area. I'd cook a full breakfast and dinner for those who want it. I guess the secondary dream would be to open a restaurant but I bet that's far more stressful than it is in my imagination.
krjpy - I'm the exact same way with finding errors in books and magazines and billboards and all that. Things just pop out at me. We have this summer concert series in town called Fridays after Five, it's free shows all summer long on Fridays, and it's a pretty big deal here. ALL of the official posters... so this was something the city put together.... ALL of them said in big, bold letters, "COME TO FRIDAY'S AFTER FIVE!" ... there are jobs for people like us in this world, we just have to convince people they need us
dixiedieter - congrats on the 5k! I've never managed one straight through but I'm gonna give it a good shot come the 3FC memorial day 5k!
Well, that's it for me for now, might be back later but that paper I have to write might get in the way

I love Cooking Mama, we even ordered the utensils controls.

haha that is so funny to read, and I so do that too! Since I worked at a bookstore and now a library, I felt compelled to read Stephanie Meyer's insanely popular Twilight books for preteens, and I have to say that they had the most spelling and grammar mistakes of any bestselling books I've ever read! I think at one point she referred to moats of dust in the air, which was almost more than I could bear
I love my job, and really as I grew up it is totally what I wanted to do! I'm a housewife to one amazing husband, and a homeschooling mom to 3 very bright and spirited kids. I only wish the pay was better
I'm right there with you! This job (homeschooling my kids) is the most meaningful one for me right now. I wish that I had a maid, though, since I have a hard time balancing homeschooling, cleaning, and cooking.
If I had to choose a paying job I'd have to say I'd like to go back into the holistic health field. I've done massage therapy with horses as well as other alternative therapies with people and it's very rewarding work. The plan is to someday open an office in our home when I've got time (HA HA!).
A great big to Josephine and Chellez on their weight loss!
Today I'm going to be OP and I'm going to squeak in a quick 3K before I go out to a meeting tonight. I hope the weather cooperates so I can run outside instead of on the treadmill!
Oh yeah and our pom poms are bigger then yours!! He He!
Yeah, your big stinky SALMON pom poms!

Count me in for editing, too! Spelling, grammar, and punctuation have long been major pet peeves of mine. I see errors EVERYWHERE and think, "Man, for $30 an hour, I could have made sure that was written correctly..." Why people don't think they need editors is beyond me. Far too many people don't know the rules and just end up embarassing themselves professionally.
Formatting faux pas are also like nails on a chalkboard for me. Don't even get me started on fully justified text...
I don't have a degree in English, but it's always been a strong point for me. I have been professionally writing and editing documents for a few years now, and it never ceases to amaze me the errors some people can make (no, "personal" and "personnel" are NOT interchangeable!).

It's not just the errors though ... the management of the building my main offices are housed out of, but a sign in the bathroom stalls (Anna you are going to love this one) and it said:
"These are water conserving toilets. It may be necessary for flush them more than once." SO MUCH FOR WATER CONSERVING! It is the just plain dumb things too that drive me crazy and make we want to re-write the world.
On a side note, I had a VERY Long conversation with Alec's (DS) principle, who is a nun since it is a Catholic school. I think we may have some movement on them regarding the horrible problems my son has been having with classwork and his teacher this year. Evidently they miscalculated his grades and he didn't fail his written Languange Arts. They don't know why his book report is not being counted in his grades. She didn't know what an alternative plan has not been created for him to help him with his lack of focus and his little to no attention to detail (got that one from my DH, not me). I wanted to scream that this should have been worked out one of the other 2 million times I was in there to talk to them, but no, I had to gather all the paperwork and lay it all out for them to get the action. Thank God (no pun intended) they are finally going to take some action, otherwise, I am. My kid is sad and stressed. I told the Sister that I got paid to be stressed about this, that is my fee for have that wonderful little boy, my son on the other hand doesn't get paid to be stressed out at 8 years old. Rant over ... at least for now:dizzy;

Not only that, but hair bows are just SO last year. We're sporting a cute little pig-tail 'do. Very fierce and fashion-foward. And we are actually wearing a skirt -- and you appear to be wearing... uh... nada. So there!
Kelly - to you and DS. I hope you can get this worked out.
To those of you who want to edit books...it isn't all that great. That's what I do all day at work. I edit/proofread the books that are used to tell Contractors how to build the buildings (specifications). It would be much more enjoyable if I wasn't reading technical writing all day.
I have to add my personal favorite mistake. One of our Architects spelled demonstrated as demonstraighted. As in "that demon was outta line and I straighted him right out"?
Hi everyone! I don't have time to get caught up....maybe later...I so love the trash talking cheerleaders!
Francie--I happenend to catch your post this am (while I was supposed to be getting ready for work....I may blame my bad hair day on that, but really, it's my own fault). Hang in there. We are all here to support you. I know it is NOT as good as dh being there, but we will certainly do what we can. I honestly don't know how all of our military families do it. (My brother is in the Army and his last deployment was 15 months. It was terrible!!!! He is home safe, for now.)

I didnt know it had untensils!!!! No fair!! No I want some..where did you find it at?

Thanks so much. Glad your brother is home safe

Plus..the red one has weird arms..LOL
I just wanna say thanks to EVERYONE for all the support. I'm actually having an okay day. I think that I just needed to get that little cry out of the way. Of course, we'll see how I am in a few weeks..LOL. I'll probably be sobbing in the corner of the shower rocking back and forth, while chewing on my hair, lol.
Just wanna share this video. This is dh's ship when it came home from deployment last year. If you're from San Diego, then you've probably seen it. It used to be based there before it moved up here.
Warning though..this song is a bit of a tearjerker.
