The power of acceptance

"It is permissible to take life's blessings with both hands provided thou dost know thyself prepared in the opposite event to take them just as gladly. This applies to food and friends and kindred, to anything God gives and takes away... As long as God is satisfied do thou rest content. If he is pleased to want something else of thee, still rest content."

-- Meister Eckhart

Our life begins to change in magical ways when we open to the experience of life AS IT IS. With acceptance, we stop fighting what is happening. And this creates space, an opening for new relationships to unfold.

Explore unconditionally saying yes to the facts of life. Accept your past and where you are now. Unconditional acceptance is unconditional love and this is healing.

"Sometimes what seems like surrender isn't surrender at all. It's about what's going on in our hearts. About seeing clearly the way life is and accepting it and being true to it, whatever the pain, because the pain of not being true to it is far, far greater."

-- Nicholas Evans

I went ahead and posted my weight, since in all fairness this was my WI day, I took the weight - didn't want to screw up my good Karma for reaching my goal today by pushing my luck

Ugh! It's only Wednesday? I got woken up a hour early this morning by DH asking if I'd washed his uniforms...oops, no. (I've banned him from the laundry room) So did the quickest load of laundry ever and stuck them in the dryer before I went to the track. What a wake-up call.

Anna/Soul - What section of the bookstore would Sark be in? My library doesn't have it listed in the card catalog (shocker, we have the world's worst library).

Chellez - I guess if Z/R/V are already taken, I'll call dibs on Phury.

Kelly - I usually buy two boxes of whatever they're now calling Samoas. When they get here (usually delivered at work) I immediately package them up and send 1 box to mom, 1 box to grandma.

I've just finished my once a month PMS induced Sunchip breakfast. I never salt anything, not even when I cook, but during PMS I crave salty things. I've learned that giving in when the craving first hits is less damaging that trying to hold out and eating everything in sight but the chips. At leat they are multi-grain and I dipped them into a homemade hot pepper dip. That counts as a veggie, right?

I've seen it in the "self help-ish" areas, and the "women's issues" areas.

I live by the philosophy that if I am out there with my DS for popcorn and hoping people will support him, then I have to return the favor and support the Girl Scouts ... i just don't have to eat them ... hence the 1 box for DS and usually a box of Thin Mints for my DH (wich I don't like anyway), then everyone else gets a donation. The donations are actually better since 100% goes to the Pack or Troop, not the 70% that comes back from the Popcorn that gets wittled down to 35% by the time is makes it through the Nation, Regional, and District wickets.

We actually had a lady tell he DH once to go buy something from the boys, since they would want us to buy from their girls. It's that Karma thing again.

As for Phury, I am hoping he "gets off the pot or pees" he really needs to buck up. I like him, but he needs to get past the "surviors guilt" of why Zadist and not me. He sounds really cute though

Wow...that's a whole lotta testosterone! So far, I'm loving Z's bit of kinkiness....everyone can benefit from a little kink!....but, I do love a big powerful take charge kinda guy, so Wrath has me so far.

Anyone here use a Neti Pot? I picked one up last night as I have horrible allergies and the dogwood and cherry trees are blooming...along with everything else. I haven't noticed much change yet...except that my ears seem to get plugged when I use it.

I've been thinking about quitting my Splenda habit. Out of the blue, I started realizing just how much of this stuff I use on a daily basis. I've been doing some reading and the use of Splenda has been linked to foggy thinking, allergy symptoms...and, painful knees! Wow...maybe my knee issues are from the Splenda? A few months ago, I tried the agave nectar in my coffee, but I didn't find it to be sweet enough. Maybe I've adapted to the super-sweetness of Splenda? Hmmmm....I have some things to think about here.

The weather is absolutely beautiful here. I asked Hubby if he wanted to go walk now as I have a 1 1/2 hour conference call that starts at 11:30. Wouldn't you know it....he has a call now. Looks like we'll be going on an evening walk today. Drat...I was hoping to get the exercise done early again. It was nice to have a relaxing evening yesterday and not have to find the willpower to get off my butt!

Wrath ... NAH! Too many responsibilities A man who can feeze you cold one second and cuddle his daughter the next is truely the man for me

As for the Splenda "Habit", under the plan I do for weight loss, you are limited to no more than 3 packets a day. Now, I don't drink coffee or tea, so I rarely use splenda, unless it is the baking splenda occassionally, but maybe you might just want to cut back. How much do you use daily?
