Rhonda - I'm going to be trying to break my fake sugar habit soon. I have 10 cans of Diet Mt. Dew Code Red left and then I'm giving it up. I'm such an addict. That's the thing about this challenge, I haven't lost any weight, but I've gain a better understanding of myself. I've accepted that I'm a binge eater and I can actually identify some of my triggers. Fake sugar is a huge trigger for me, just like real sugar. I've put this off, but I really feel like I need to completely cut the fake stuff out. Stopping the sodas will also take away the caffeine source, which can only help me in the long run. But dang, I'm gonna be an uber-beetch when I try to stop. I've promised DH and my co-workers that I'll go dry starting on a Saturday and not when I'm pms-ing. I think I scare them.

Yeah, we would hate for the library to empower women...."they might start getting ideas and thinking" (Gaston-Beauty and the Beast)

"Self-exploration" is the category on the back. Just bug the bookstore people. They have those fancy shmancy computers because they do not always put things where I think they should go.

Chelle---She's being mean again.

Funny you would all be talking about sweet addictions. I have been two weeks without sugar in my coffee. Not a big deal, but my NSV anyway.

Meara is on my lap, so these are for her:

I think I'm gonna do that. I just fibbed to my hubby that I wasn't taking a lunch with him so I didn't have to buy him lunch

So I'll goto Subway, get a sub and come back and read for an hour.... or more

On a side note: I heard on the radio that men that eat more than 2 oz of processed meat have a 20% greater chance of getting cancer.

I have about 4 cups of coffee each morning...with two heaping teaspoons each in addition to about 1 TBS of Sugar-free French Vanilla creamer per cup..this also contains Splenda. Then, I have a heaping teaspoon on my oatmeal each morning. And, I drink one or two diet rootbeers each day...and those have aspartame. I really think I'm overdoing the artificial sweeteners. I've replaced one bad habit....sugar and HFCS....for another habit that is probably much worse for me.

What plan are you following?

Coffee: good parenting in a mug.

Not really news. Processed meats have been linked to blood cancers for years, especially in children.

Another nail in DH's coffin. It's amazing my DH is still alive. He doesn't take care of himself at all. Smokes, drinks, genetic high blood pressure, high stress job, overweight, eats the wrong things no matter what I fix, won't workout, etc. I keep telling him to live it up and soon I'll be spending his life insurance money on a boy-toy. How did I ended up married to my exact opposite?

This is Daniel in a nutshell except he never smokes and rarely drinks.

His mom and dad have heart problems and he has mitro valve prolapse (i'm sure I butchered that)

Pretty scary that he doesn't have life insurance either....

Get life insurance on him now while he's still young and qualifies for the good rates. Last time DH had an episode with his blood pressure I added another policy. I'm slightly paranoid about not having enough insurance on him since my Dad died at 53 and only had a $100,000 policy. Sounds like enough until you try to cover the medical bills and funeral expenses. (I sound like an AARP commerical )

OOPS! ... forgot you are only on book 1 right ... you need to get a couple more into the series for the comment to make sense.

As for the Splenda ... well all I can say is now we know why their stock is doing so good

Chelle - I'm with you ... ditch the Hubby and hunker down with the hunky book
