MC Hammer is reserved for MSTeacher on the Red Team. (not that I've ever called her that... but since I'm into name dubbing today)

Chellez - If you're handing out names today, I'd like to be "princess"

I'm so hungry! I think it's head-hunger though, because I'm seaching for some new recipes. I've decided to do more bean dishes and less meat. Seems like every tasty-sounding recipe I find calls for something new/weird that I've never seen here in the South where "if it ain't battered and deep fried it ain't a veggie worth eatin".

I kept my maiden name. When DH and I were discussing it, I said that if I changed my last name, I was changing everything. I wanted to be Princess Feathercloud.

What ingredients are baffling you?

Hi everyone,

I hope the team does well this week...sadly I am at a standstill at 252. I'm still very proud that I have lost 15 lbs so far this challenge. I have a good feeling that I might drop another 2-4 lbs by next week (cross fingers). I feel highly motivated and I just had another 24 flu bug which always seems to help with my weight loss....I'll take it whenever I can get it

Hope everyone is doing great! Can't wait to see the final numbers.

Cheers,
Ginger

15 is a great loss!!

And I hope you aren't drinking from cans in the trash just trying to catch some virus that will stimulate weight loss

Somehow I messed up the SS paperwork when I changed my name and ended up with my maiden name as my middle name. So now my middle name is 9 letters, my last name is 11 letters. Whenever I have to spell my last name (everytime I give it) I tell them to imagine if I'd hypenated it.

It's not some much that I'm baffled about the ingredients, but there's no where local to buy things like "Forbidden purple rice" or "Algonquian beans". Even our local natural food/health food store is very low on unusal choices. You can get organic cornmeal ground 5 different ways (cause you gotta have hushpuppies and cornbread), but there's nothing that you couldn't find at a nicer grocery store in the area. Luckily there were some links to online shops that sell the ingredients, but I'm still trying to talk myself into paying shipping on my rice.

Thanks on-the-tee! I'm happy with 15, it's just not quite what I had on my ticker for goal. But I'll take it!

No dumpster diving for me -LOL. Just my three little munchkins and their friends who all attend different pre-schools and so the germ spreading capacity is HUGE! This is my 4th flu bug since this challenge started - not including colds.

Cheers,
Ginger

First of all, it says very plainly that rice is 'forbidden'. I think it is some sort of trick to see if you will buy it.

As for the beans, I never have the right kind. I have How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, which lists all things legume-y and gives their alternate names as well. Nothing like that in any of my veg cookbooks. Someone is yanking your chain.

Rain or no rain, I am running outside tonight. Just thinking about the treadmill makes me want to lay down on the floor and cry.
