Morning Ladies....Another grey, dull, day in Seattle....surprise. I've been out here for 10 years now. The longer I am away from Kentucky, the more I miss it.
But anyway....boss is home sick again today. Yeah, it's much more quiet here when he is gone. He's not a bad guy, he was actually a co-worker before he became the supervisor. Sometimes that is good, sometimes that is bad. The manager of our group is coming back from Philadelphia today, so pretty much it's a free day. I'm organizing the office Super Bowl pool. There are times when I love this job. Oh, did I mention that I am a computer systems admin for a high end retail clothier (begins with Nord, ends with strom)....it pays the bills.
But anyway....again....do any of you use a G. Foreman grill? I don't know if it's because I am an Ali fan or what, but I can't come to terms with this thing. The meat does indeed get cooked, but it doesn't brown. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit a cadaver lab back in the day, and everytime I take the chicken off the G.F. I think of that experience. Not always pleasant, you know? There are reasons I work with computers. Am I doing or not doing something where the grill is concerned?

Have a Day ladies....I'll be back.

Well, I took a quick shower and went up to the er because my mom demanded it and I seriously thought that when you go and complain of chest pain they take you right through, but instead I sat there for like 2 1/2 hours with a bunch of coughing and sneezing sick people and I got irritated and told the nurse I was going home. She advised that since I am no distress right now to come home, take an aspirin and take it easy, but if it should happen again between now and Feb 7th when I have my reg doc appt to come back, so I left. I feel fine now. Just a lil headache and some soreness, but that could so be from lifting weights the other night during TBL. BTW, I HATE doctors, nurses and hospitals. Not as people, but as people who poke and prode me, lol! HATE it!

Yes, Diva, I share your sentiments about ER's, nurses and doctors. No offense to any of you who are nurses here, or who work in ER or who are Doctors. I've had bad experiences with the ER's that I've been to. I guess they see a lot of people, but I've always felt like they don't want to listen to what I'm saying, they just want to quickly diagnose a symptom, ya know?
But anyway - I hope that all is okay. I always have this huge fear of working my heart to hard. My hubby and trainer are trying to get me over that fear. I'm afraid that if I work it too hard that it will explode. DH and trainer have assured me that working the heart is like working a muscle. I'm only making it stronger. *sigh* Hypochodriac here

Vanetta - My grandparents live east of Seattle in Startup, WA. I love it out there (I guess that's the whole "the grass is greaner on the other side" theory...lol). We're hoping to take a trip up that way in August. My family out that way have never met my hubby or kids. So, we're hoping to get up there before my grandparents get too much older.

dream710 - AMEN about the income tax refund!! My hubby worked at 2 different places last year. One place he worked for 2 weeks in January. They sent the W-2 to the wrong address and so we called them to get a second copy mailed to us at our correct address - and the guy who has the "security clearance" to print the W-2's had just quit and it will be 2 weeks or more before someone else comes in who can do that. ??????? So, we can't do our taxes because we're waiting on a W-2 for 2 weeks worth of work! UGH!!!

mothermavis - welcome aboard!

ggmugsy - fights with the DH suck! I'm not sure what the moon was like last night, but men can be frustrating as it is (no offense to our man on our team )

I must now go and work on getting the kiddos down for nap and catching up on schoolwork. I'm SO excited to get the 10 day challenge going!!!!!!!!!!!

have a great day ladies!

Hi Ladies! Just a little reminder for tomorrow!.....

National Wear Red Day—February 1, 2008is a day when Americans nationwide will wear red to show their support for women's heart disease awareness. This observance promotes the Red Dress symbol and provides an opportunity for everyone to unite in this life-saving awareness movement by showing off a favorite red dress, shirt, or tie, or Red Dress Pin.

Diva- that is scary, I am glad you are okay though and the pain seems to be going away- keep an eye on it and if it happens again get your butt back in there!

Vanetta- I love seattle- I don't think I can live there though- I love visiting, it is such an unique place.

Dream- what sort of tattoo are you getting? I work in a tattoo shop- it is always interesting to see what people are getting and why. Is there a story behind your tattoo?

Diva, I'm very glad you at least tried to see the dr. It's probably a pulled muscle but it's better to be safe than sorry. Keep those aspirin handy just in case.

Vanetta, you absolutely crack me up.

DH must not be too mad at me because he brought home the front end loader to clear the driveway and around the mailbox. The snow berm around my front walk is nearly 4' high. Roofs are collapsing all over town. DH did our roof last night. Maybe that's why he was so darned cranky. lol

Anybody else in line for the big storm that is heading thru the States and into Southern Ontario?? The kids in my house (and myself to some degree) are hoping for a snow day tomorrow. It would be a good day to get in a good work-out, finish housecleaning, do some scrap booking and play in the backyard. I'll leave the shovelling to someone else!!
Didn't have to go to my dd's basketball practice/game tonight...hubby went in case the snow starts early. Now I can pull out my step and workout while I watch a show (not sure what's on yet) and get my laundry done.
Just finished a round of bowling on the Wii with my youngest...that's a workout right there!!
Have a great night ladies!!

Hi All! Just checkin' in.

Diva - I have the exact same issue occasionally and have been to the ER about it several times. The first time I sat in the ER for HOURS, like dude, hello CHEST PAIN!
Went to a different hospital the second time and they took me immediately. I didn't even SEE the waiting room. Luckily it turned out to be muscular pain and nothing serious. They gave me pain medication and that's about it.
Any pain like that needs to be checked out though. Hope you feel better.

Dea - It's snowing like crazy here in Chicago. I am not looking forward to shoveling AT ALL.

We are supposed to get snow and then lots of ice.

I am going to practice for the 10 day challenge by starting today. I am OP, completely. For the whole first 14 days of February.

I will be at least 5 pounds lighter by Valentine's Day. That will be 143 and 20 pounds gone!!

Morning black team! Well I weighed in today and I'm back down to 185.5. Only a half pound more and I will have lost the 3 I gained last week .
We filed our taxes online yesterday and we should see our money in ten days! Woohoo! I might be able to get my tattoo sooner than I planned. I was a lil bummed yesterday afternoon, I went to the local tat shop to get an estimate and its not good. They said prolly five to six hundred dollars . I can afford it but I don't know if thats really how much I want to spend. My DF said maybe go half the size or pick something else out. I have my heart set on this tattoo, and I guess I could go smaller. So we will see.

Roni-I've wanted a tattoo for many yrs and originally I wanted a lower back tattoo I had one picked out with tribal scrolls and a blue butterfly in the center, but my lower back is really sensitive and I don't think I could handle the pain. I hope you're feeling ok today!

Caitbeans- Thats soo cool that you work in a tat shop. I've been waiting so long to get my tattoo because I was looking for the perfect one. I wanted something with meaning but couldn't come up with anything. So I opted for sexy. Its 3 flowers, has lots of shading and scroll work. Its a pretty good sized tattoo, probably 12-13 inches long and 5-6 inches across. I found it online at Tattoo Johnny, they have what they call test drive tattoos and I think I'm gonna get a couple different sizes and colors to see what its gonna look like. My DF said that its best to go with bright colors because they fade. And since I tan that will affect the coloring, is that true? I'll see if I can upload a pic (I've never uploaded here so, I apologize if its gigantic) . Oh, and how'd the clinicals go?

Julz-that sucks that you have to wait two weeks to get your taxes finished, you could have that money in hand by then

Dea-I hope you get the snow day you're hoping for. Its always nice to have an extra day to get stuff done around the house. Did you make your exercise minutes goal for January? Have you set one for Feb.? I think I'm gonna aim for 1500 this month.

Vanetta-I used to have a forman grill I wasn't overly impressed. I ended up giving it to my single brother in law. He got more use out of it than we did.

Ok well here's the picture of my future tattoo I'm gonna have it put on my shoulder starting at the base of my neck. I'm thinking hot pink for the middle flower and purple for the other two flowers.

Wow - I hadn't looked at the weather for days. Looks like it could get slightly nasty here, but most sleet - not snow.

dream710 - Don't compromise on something as important and permanent as your tattoo!!!!!!! In the grand scheme of life that bit of extra money doesn't matter anywhere near as much as you being true to yourself. It might be hard to wait, but personally I think it would be better to. If you don't have enough from your tax refund, maybe you could set up a savings account (I love ING), figure out how much else you need and then put in an auto-deduct on your paycheck to slowly add to your stash. Then you will have the funds you need in not time.

Well, hopefully I will be back later in the day. Work has gotten interesting over the past few days and I know I will need some sanity breaks.

Well it's just a raining and windy and mild temp's but it's supposed to get cooler...sigh....of course I have a lot to do. Shopping for food, paint, and some new furniture items. Need to pay the rent. We are going to start our remodeling & redecorating today and tomorrow. I'm soooo excited. Does anyone else get excited about curtains? LOL!

I'm feeling better. No pain so far today besides the pain I've had for 2 weeks in my back, but I can live with it. It's not bad and it doesn't slow me down. I am excited about our VD challenge to start on Monday! Maybe we shd have some short little spints like this throughout the big challenge to keep us motivated and whatnot. maybe we can take turns setting it up and motivating one another?

Anyway, I'll most likely be busy for the next few day's with all we are doing and then Super bowl on Sunday! Go Giants!!!! So I'll see you all in here bright and early Monday! I'll try and check in during breaks and whatnot. Little does dude know, but I am great at supervising HIM doing most of the work, hehe

Have a lovely day beautiful Black team!
HUGS!

Good Morning Black Team Members. Woke up this morning to 7+ inches of snow so the boss just closed the office. Yea!!! Think I'll go out and shovel snow - wonder how many calories I'll burn with that chore? Think I'll take a walk later this afternoon. I love it when it snows. Everything is just so crisp and clean looking. And quiet for some reason. Let me clear that up - I love looking at it, I truly am a warm weather person. I keep telling DBF that when we retire I want to go south. That way I can have a pool and of course a pool boy with a nice, cute bum!! Maybe in my dreams that will come true.

Anyway, Diva glad you got your pain checked out. Take it easy for a couple of days. Don't overdo on your remodel job. And yes, I too am excited to be getting some new curtains. DBF's house had no curtains when I moved in. Just mini blinds (yuck). The last room to get "redone" is the living room - new carpet, paint and finally curtains. I can't wait. Supposed to happen in March. Guess I know where my tax refund will be going.

Looking forward to starting the challenge on Monday. Maybe I'll try to start today and stay POP for 2 full weeks. That truly would be a challenge for me!!

See you all later. Gotta go shovel!!
