fitin2008: I'm with you about forgetting to take the vitamins. I got tired of the bottles on the counter so I put them in the cupboard and now I'm even worse! I'm going to do their "cutting the vitamin in half" thing. What Dr. Oz said made good sense. Keep us posted on if you see/feel a difference! I'm hoping 2 flax seed pills a day will help keep my skin nourished from inside and I'll have less excess skin when I'm finished losing all this FAT!!

More about Oprah: I'm doing the "A New Earth" class. Is anybody else from here signed up??

I've been experimenting with the Weight Watchers soup recipes the last month. I really loved the spicy black bean soup. Tonight I made the Thai carrot soup and I won't be making it again. 50/50 isn't a bad average though.

I'm not an official member of the challenge but I've been OP all this week!

Hooray!! Stay healthy and happy everybody!!

today and yesterday were busts I didn't make any of my goals. I am thinking I might have to take a pass this week. Life is just to darn complicated right now. I am NOT giving up though. it is so nice to have people notice my weightloss I can't mess this up.

OK all, haven't posted well but sticking with the 10 day challenge
Today I did Jillian's Sculpt workout from Exercise TV and climbed the stairs at work ( I work on the 8th fl of a large building, 2 flights for each floor, so that is 16 flights!)

Water - trying to drink enough to = 1/2 my weight as I saw somewhere that was a good mark to aim for, so I got in 4 20oz glasses

Food
Dannon light & fit
Large tossed salad w grilled chicken and low fat cottage cheese
handful of almonds
grilled turkey burger
SF fudge bar

note to self, need to eat more veggies!

Hi Teammates,
I was good all day and then our family got a surprise "heart attack". Along with lots of cute hearts was a plateful of frosted and decorated cupcakes and cookies. I enjoyed a few .

So, this will be my freebie day. We get one right? Tomorrow I'll get right back on track -promise.

I did finally get to the store and stocked up on veggies. I like the whole foods & fruit/veg challenge idea. I vote for 5 fruits and veggies a day, whole grains (no white flour), and no sugar, HFCS, etc. Open to all idea though.

Cool! I'll do that! It'll be fun!

How's it going, Ladies? I'm okay, just a little down (hormonal) but nothing bad.

Best of luck to everyone and all around!

Hi everybody! I couldn't stop in yesterday but I did well on the eating front and actually worked out! Only 20 minutes, but you would have thought I was running a marathon the way I was sweating! In my defense, it has been almost 2 yrs since I've done anything, so I expected it. My goal for the challenge was to workout 5x in 10 days. With only 6 days left I better get busy!

I've been weighing in on Thurs or Fri for this challenge and I was down 3 lbs this morning so I'll take it.

I like the idea of the whole foods challenge and getting points for making good choices!! Thanks Soul!

ggmugsy: I'm going to check out the Oprah class. I only caught the end of what she was saying so I'm not completely sure what it's about. Also, where did you get the WW recipes? I have Etools, was it there or a cookbook?

Food Today:

Brunch:
1 small slice veggie pizza 6pts
1/2 turkey/cranberry sandwich 7pts
bite of potato salad 1pt

Dinner:
1/2 lean grilled pork chop 2pts
2 spoons WW mac/chz 2pts
sugar snap peas 0pts
1 cup stuffing 4pts
mushroom gravy 2pts
hot tea w/ honey 1pt

hi teammates!
i stuck to plan again yesterday ... that's 3 days on plan so far.....

i also got up the nerve to try on a pair of pants a friend gave to me awhile back that i couldn't fit into.... THEY FIT!!!!!! i was so excited! so that's one mini goal down. i mean they aren't looking HOT on me yet, but they button and zip without any problems!!! seriously super excited over here

oh and i tried on my BF's jeans... one pair fit (like the other pants i tried on) and the other were still too small for me to fit into... so my next NSV Goal is to fit into THOSE pants YAY!

i haven't been really exercising due to having the stomach flu... and my knee being all messed up... but i think tonight i'm going to get the BF in tow and go try out the local swimming pool for some laps... either tonight or tomorrow

sxulcmnky-Great job on the weight loss! I'm sooo excited for you on fitting into the smaller jeans, and you've already set the next goal thats wonderful..keep up the good work girlfriend! I hope you get over the stomach flu soon!

hope4me-Way to get moving! 20 minutes is 20 minutes, you gotta start somewhere. I'm sure before you know it you'll be up to 60 minutes. 3lbs this week is Awesome!

Soulbliss-I think it would be great if you set up the next challenge. I hope you're feeling better today.

Julz- I love the Kashi waffles, esp the blueberry ones! I've got one question tho what the heck is ezekial bread?

fitin2008-Glad everyone is doing ok after the "heart attack" Every once in a while its ok to splurge and you're back on track today....RIGHT.

mothermavis-Great job on staying op. What did you think of the scuplting show? I have TBL power sculpt, where Jillian leads it and I was totally shocked...in a good way...she's a completely different person that she is on TBL. She gave pointers and explained why we were doing certain moves....I was very impressed.

tjjsmom-hang in there! We all have bad days, bad weeks, bad months, whatever it maybe, just give it your best shot. It will get better.

ggmugsy-I love black beans...could you post the recipe for the soup. Whats a new Earth class about?

Diva-I was curious about the Simple harvest cereal....is it any good? I usually eat Kashi but I'm always looking for new stuff to try. Glad you're ok after the storms!

Caitbeans- I think you'll love running! I've been running for about 6 months and absolutely love it.

Vanetta-You're too funny!

Laurie-Thanks for the HWL tip...I'm gonna have to try it today. My weight hasn't gone down from the Super Bowl party and I'm getting a lil nervous.

Yesterday I fell a lil short in the water dept. I fell asleep at 7:30 and didn't wake up til 5:45 this morning.

sxulcmnky- GREAT JOB!!! That is so exciting, it makes your weight loss so much more real.

hope4me- great job for getting back on that exercise wagon!

I started the Couch to 5 K plan and didnt feel any pain in my knees, I think it is a lot easier on them to run on a tredmill instead. Did that, and the recumbant bike, didn't do anything else becuase there is a huge hazmat spill right outside my school, and I was trying to figure out what was going on with classes. They are cancelled until it is cleaned up, so I guess we have to stare at the TV to figure out when they are reopeneing it (they are thinking 4-6 hours!) so annoying!!

Here is my menu for today so far:

Breakfast--oatmeal, skim milk, OJ
Snack--Kashi bar
Lunch- subway turkey sub, light lays
Snack-- yogurt
Dinner-- went to Friendly's: 1/2 turkey club supermelt, 1/2 serving of fries, shared sugar free far free frozen yogurt with Abby
Snack--none

Water--40 oz, not great.

Exercise-- couch to 5K, recumbant bike.

Have a great day everybody!

I had never heard of Ezekial bread before 2 days ago when our trainer told us about it. It is flourless bread. It's made exactly in the fashion of the bread made in the Bible in Ezekial 4:9 ("But as for you, take wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt, put them in one vessel and make them into bread for yourself..."). It is nearly equal in protein to eggs and milk. And, it has no flour or other preservitives in it. We bought some last night (it's in the freezer section at our local grocery store). I actually liked it. The texture is close to that of other bread, it's a little heavier. But, it was suprisingly really good.

And now.. .I'm off to work! Have a great day ladies!

Red face

Dream the Simple harvest was very good. I like it better than the Kashi hot cereal so give it a try.

I feel better but TOM arrived early today and I feel so bloated. I know 2 nights in a row of spaghetti has a lot to do with it and I haven't gotten my water in because I feel like I have spent this week sleeping, lol! I feel sleepy now damn it! WTH!? No cramps yet but they usually come in at day 2 or 3 so I imagine one day this weekend is totally gonna suck. O'well. Jess will be here and he'll pamper me so that'll be cool. All that shd be over with by the time Monday rolls around and I will have NO excuse to not restart the c25k!

Anywho, see y'all later. I gotta color my hair and primp a lil' bit.
