Default well....

Shymoment:
Ok I'm not sure reminding you of that was a good thing!! It is good but my trainer and husband who is also a trainer told me to go easy because alcohol stops the fat burning process. Your liver stops burning fat to process the alcohol! Bummer huh! But you only live once and they also tell me everything in moderation!! So go for it, enjoy (as I also will) and we'll start back the next day!!

PS:I am copying your idea!! Hope thats ok!!

1 for every 5 pds!!

Rennie, you are like me. Christmas is over, let's get the decorations down and put away. Get the house back to normal and get everyone else back to normal. If I could, I'd get the kids back in school today! Ha! I really do like Christmas, but I also don't mind seeing it end! I just need to make it through to New Year's so that everyone can stop the endless looking back at the "biggest stories of the year" and the endless goal setting and resolutions that happen now. I'm all for setting goals, but let's get them set and move on.

Rexs: I really don't drink much at all (anymore), but that's an interesting fact that the alcohol moves to the front of the line for the liver, ahead of burning fat. I had some wine on Christmas Eve and it just didn't do it for me. I know for sure that I'll stick to beer if I drink, but I'll also keep your info in mind!!

Lovn: Are you around? Hope you had a nice Christmas!

Liz, Jan, everyone: Check in and tell us how you are doing!

I like order is all lol. Time to get it all put away and back to order lol. I tryed to drop the kids off at school today but the teachers know me and posted guards at the end of the drive lol. I don't have new years resolutions so I have nothing to go back on, I am a mini goal setter lol. Set one a month and that is about it. I am tired of hearing the biggest stories of the year too. I didn't hear anything about the firefighter that put his life at risk to save a cat in a tree because the darn cat was trapped by a down power line, or about our brave soldiers that need our love and prayers. I hear about some spoiled rich girl who no one will leave alone. It is amazing to me what people think is important.

Rex
I drink so much that, my husband bought me a wonderful bottle of wine for Christmas last year. I had one glass. This Christmas the rest was still in the bottle lol. It sounds good but I probably won't spend the money so it can sit and look pretty in my cupboard lol.

Default Teenagers!

My oldest child (20) just came home with 2 Sonic burgers w/ cheese. I looked up the nutrition and it has 42 fat grams for 1!! And 720 calories per burger. I told him one day he will pay!! I used to be able to eat like that but now just can't imagine! I limit my fat intake to max 20 grams a day and 1600 calories! Wow! He will learn! Amazing how our mantality changes as we grow older and try to lose weight!

I have between 1200 and 1400 calories, 30 to 35 fat and 180 to 210 carbs. General amounts. If I go under around 24% fat my skin is to dry and my hair falls out more than it should. Doc told me that was because I wasn't takeing enough fat in lol.

Everyone's been so busy posting while I'm off doing whatever.
Welcome Tammy! It's great to have newcomers. Christmas Day is as good a day to start as any.
I had a terrific Christmas. Yes, I overate and indulged in a little wine on Christmas Eve, but no regrets. We ended up not going away yesterday so my DH family all came over for brkfst and gift giving. I had a couple bloody mary's, but I didn't overeat. I served brkfst buffet style and set no real table so I just kind of snacked while I cooked. We all had a really good time, but I too was really glad to have life back to normal today. I would love to take the tree and decor down, but I will waite until next Tues when the kids go back to school. DS has basketball practice from 7:30-9 tonight so I plan to walk two miles around town and then walk the halls for a 1/2 hour. That should work out some of the salt I've been consuming. I'm hoping my friend can join me, but I'm getting it done whether she shows or not. So glad everyone had an awesome Christmas.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, it sure sounds like it. I had a very peaceful day for the most part. I stayed on plan, I decided not to fix the meal the nutritionist gave me. It was not too hard, my family know that I am trying hard to lose weight and are very supportive. I gave them much thanks on my blog.

Sorry I have not been on for awhile but my wireless was down and it took awhile to get it restored. I am so not computer savy, even though I work on the computer for my job 8-10 hrs a day, I know nothing about it.
I am back and have caught up with everyone. Welcome newbies!!!!

I have this week off, so I am chillin this week. I did go and weigh in today, and had a 2lb loss.

Theresa! Good to see you again. Enjoy your week off! That's always good. I'm like you, I'm on the computer all the time, but I don't know anything about it when it doesn't do what it is supposed to do. I was great with computers in college, but if you don't keep up, you are instantly out of the loop!

Lovn - Sounds like you had a good Christmas, too. It's a wonderful thing!

Carla - My husband used to eat like your son and he still can put away much more than I can without gaining. But, he has had to slow down and watch what he eats, too. I do think it is funny to watch teenagers eat in their "reckless abandonment" way.

I'm at work today and tomorrow. I am hoping to leave early tomorrow because I am driving over the mountains for the weekend to see family. I think the roads might be a little iffy, but I've done it before, so I'll just take it easy. Anyway, that means I'll probably disappear from the computer for a few days after tomorrow.

Theresa, Great job on the 2# loss. Glad you too had a nice Christmas.
Diane, Drive safe and have a great time!
I didn't get my exercise in yesterday. My DH wanted to go to basketball practice with DS. It was me who let my friend down. I am walking today though. I have to get back on plan today. Yesterday was another "not one healthy bite" day. My calories aren't running that high, but I'm not feeling very satisfied, because all my choices are so low nutritionally.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey Crabbykate,

You have found a great board for support! We are all in your shoes trying to lose weight!! Turn that frustration in positive production. Just get up and move. Dance like no one is watching! Even if it's in the closet where no one can see!! (speaking from experience) Start slow and work up to more. Keep posting and we'll keep supporting!! I work out with a trainer and he helps me with the food part. Also, fitday.com is a place to keep track of everything you eat and show you what calories your consuming. Pretty cool. Ok enough ranting. Just here to help.

This is just where you need to be. We encourage everyone. We also love to know what everyone is doing, not just about weight loss. Ok, we are basically nosey . If you are talking about the tickers we all have at the bottom of our post they are real easy to get. At the top left side of your screen you will see User CP, click on that. Then go down on the left hand side of the screen to edit signature, think it is on the top left. Click on that. You will be given instructions there how to make a ticker of your very own.

Hi all - My Christmas was just fine and I did pretty well for my first day on WW. Although yesterday I came down with a crummy cold and am home today trying to take care of myself. My biggest problem is that I have no appetite and all I've eaten today is a small orange and a glass of water. How do you all keep up with eating when you're not feeling well?

Hi everybody,
Newbie here who is in this age bracket, so I guess I am allowed to post. Ok, but instead of admitting I am 40, I prefer saying my age is 39 & 12 months! .........Well actually I am now 39 & 18 month, geesh the time sure flies. Oldie but a goodie though.... Ok, so now you know my age, I felt I should tell you guys I certainly do not act my age! Ha ha ha I actually feel I am still 18, and I look like I am about 30 and my name is Wendalyn.

I started my journey last January at 170 and I reached goal of 145 in March. My goal was to become Fit & fabulous before 40 & I achieved it. I have an athletic body I am proud of. Sorry I am not one to post pics, just not comfy doing that, hope you understand.
I have been maintaining my weightloss for over 9 months now, so quite an accomplishment thus far, and I am sticking with it for the long haul. It is not easy, but it is doable. I thought I'd try posting in another spot to see how I like it here with peeps my age and up.

40before50 sorry to hear your under the weather. Try eating some soup, you need liquids so you don't get dehydrated and feel worse. Get lots of rest in the meantime.

Until next time.... ~Wendalyn

Hello and welcome.

40before
Oh I feel so bad for you. I hate being sick. Eating when sick....I don't do much eating when sick. Everyone tends to make me fruit smoothies to get my dairy and fruits in. That is generaly all I eat unless I happen to have some home made soup in the freezer and then they pop that out and make it for me. Sure hope you feel better soon.
