Hi ladies,
I finally am back to squeaky clean eating, yeah me!

Lolly sorry about the eggs, I love eggwhite omeletes I normally eat 4 eggwhites (toss the yokes down the drain) and add onions and green pepper and mrs dash low sodium southwest chipolte and nuke in microwave for 3 minutes. Then I eat this omelet between 2 slices of whole wheat dry toast, DELISH! I think egg beaters are too spendy, so I just toss the yolk method instead!

Rex, I also think you need to eat more to lose more, you also need a lil fat too to lose the bad fat. Your body is probably hanging on to every morsel you are giving it, starving it will not give you the results you want. Believe me, been there, done that! Try to incorporate some good fats like several almonds, or a bit of peanut butter or some flax seed or a drizzle of olive oil.

Remember this is a lifestyle, I personally could never live on protein shakes for the rest of my life...
Maybe try adding some yogurts, fruit, lean proteins, etc.

No meat huh rennie? I am not a meat fan either. I am more of a FOUL kind of gal, chicken turkey, salmon, tuna, peanut butter and egg whites are my staples in the protein department.

I use an off brand of egg beaters 1.79 for 16 oz ( 8 servings ) 0z not so bad. When you grew up as poor as I did. You DO NOT toss food down the drain. I make sure we have beef once a week, pork once a week and salmon and tuna one day a week each. The rest is chicken. If I had to eat peanut butter I would die lol. YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Ok, What are you the yolk police? Hubby cringes everytime I toss the yokes, sometimes he insists I put them into this already 3 egg yoke omelet, oye vey like he needs all that extra cholesterol cloggage! Good thing he doesn't know I eat one most everyday, so 4 yokes down the drain it always is..
I honestly do not like to waste food either, but when I toss the yokes I think of my teeny tiny 25 inch waist and I know my waist is way better than a bit of waste down the drain anyday!

Eggs really aren't as bad as people think. I could eat a whole egg or two everyday and be below the cholesterol I am allowed. I like the taste of the egg beaters lol. Yes I am the food police lol. Sometimes I eat the whole egg sometimes I use the egg beaters. I cook with whole eggs most of the time.

Carla, My questions is, what do you fear you're addicted to? Are you afraid your excercising too much or that you 're enjoying the "empty" feeling too much? I know both feelings can be very empowering, but also both can be very destructive. Being 5'7" and 140# you are at a very healthy weight. It sounds like your body is maybe trying to tell you that. That said, the girls are right. The best way to jump start your metabolism is to feed it. Not crazy, yeahhh I can go eat one of everything at McD's, but sensible fats like Wendy has suggested. Olive oil instead of Pam, Walnuts in your oatmeal are awesome, a handful of almonds with your yogurt or sprinkled on your salad. You have only 10 more pounds to goal. They will be the hardest. Shake your metabolism up a bit, try not to get frustrated, keep on doing what you're doing. Everyone hits platoes. They seem like forever, but once you've busted through you'll be on your way. Good vibes your way. Kristi
Rennie, I'm with you on the no throwing food away. Too many with too little.

Rennie, yeah I know eggs always seem to get a bad wrap, one week their good for you, the next week they are not. I think all foods are good for us in MODERATION. (except trans fats of course). I just choose going this route being their is a family history of heart problems, cholesterol etc., So lets just agree to disagree on me tossin my yolks. If you want I could send them to you and lovinmom if that makes you 2 feel better? Giggle giggle, snortie snort! I am not 100% yolkless though, when I bake I still use them.

Well time to have breakie and get my workout in, then I am off to get a new hairdo today, hmmnnn not sure if I will go drastic or the same ole, I will see once I get there! Have a good food choice making kinda day everyone, check back l8er.

Welcome Monique! Jump right in and join us! Maybe you can weigh in on the current egg issue!

As for me, being a part time chicken rancher, I think the big difference is in the kind of eggs you buy. If you can find someone who has someone who sells eggs from their home, those are the ones to get. It all has to do with what you are feeding your chickens. So, the "organic" eggs in the store really are better for you. Some of the cheap eggs are produced by chickens kept in very small cages, that are being fed animal protein along with some kind of grain. I don't sell my eggs, but I know that they get a totally vegetarian, organic diet which produces the best tasting, lowest cholesterol eggs available! Just my opinion!! But, I would suggest finding a good source for fresh eggs and you'll love the difference.

My kids aren't back in school yet. They don't go back until next Tuesday. I think they are ready to get back to their friends, though. Not so sure if they are ready to get back to "work", but we'll see how they do.

Still cold here. I'm ready for a little warmth to come back. I have been really slacking in my exercise, so I need to bundle up and deal with it!! ha!

Same here, the kids are ready to be back at school with their friends. They don't go back until next Tuesday. I get my eggs from the farm down the street. They don't sell them but I trade them for home made bread. Takes a ton of eggs to make the stuff everyone wants lol. The old lady down the way was telling me how her daughter is coming into town and it would be so nice to have a couple of loves of banana nut bread when she came in, but her old hands just couldn't do it lol. What, does everyone think I am Betty Crocker lol. Guess that means today I bake banana nut bread lol.

evil
Is the same reason I don't eat the whole eggs most of the time. I don't have any problems but there is family history of high cholesterol and heart problems

HEY LOVN
We get free egg yokes lol.

jmf
You have found a great thread and if I say so myself a GREAT thread to post on. We are full of encouragement and sure want you to do well on the journey you have decided to take to a healthier thinner person. Don't be afraid to ask for advice or give advice. That is what we are all here for.

Thanks for the welcome!
As far as the egg issue goes... I live on a farm and although I don't raise my own chickens I am looking to get in that. I think that moderation is the key. Organic is always better than those pumped with hormones and antibiotics. but even good things need to be in Moderation. That is my resolution for the new year. Start living in Moderation!!!. It will be a huge step for me because even though I am a farm girl I am a very high maintainence farm girl!!!

Welcome Monique!!

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Rennie,
I do eat food and take protein powder. It's just when I don't eat enough I try to take in extra protein.

Lovinmom.
I am worried that I'm addicted to exercise. I feel guilty and get a little grumpy if I'm not at the gym twice a day. And I do know that's why I'm not loosing weight anymore is because I am exercising too much and not eating enough. I am trying today to just eat more. Just sort of snacking on healthy food and maybe that will help.

It seems weird to eat more to loose more but I know it's true!!

Rennie: I love banana bread! You absolutely HAVE to make it for the poor little old lady who can't do it anymore!! It would be bad karma to not make it!!

Hi girls haven't posted in a while.

Today was my weigh-in and I'm up 6 lbs since the beginning of December. I need to start posting more and get motivated.

My kids went back to school today and I feel like I can get back into my routine. A friend and I are going to try and walk together.

I need to get rid of all the junk in my fridge. I kept saying over the holidays "This is ridiculous all the food in this house, way too much."

So here's to a good new year everyone.
