Hey everyone. Boy, I feel like this thread is dying a slow death. When I first started this thread, I had intended to combine two chat threads from 40 somethings into one big happy ... and active... chat thread. I feel like maybe I killed the other two chat threads in error because people are just not posting here anymore. I'm actually sorry I did it now. At the time, there were just so many great women posting, that I thought combining them would make it even stronger. But a lot of those women who were posting at the time aren't posting at all anymore.

I'm not intending this post to come off as a pity party, I just feel bad for losing all of those active, chatty members.........

I just found this thread the other day. Maybe people aren't finding it or maybe because autumn is upon us, people are busy getting fall cleaning done.

Good morning, I had seen the thread but didn't post because it looked kind of quiet and I need lots of reinforcement, but then I was reading again and wonder how many ladies are like me, just kind of lurking? So here I am.

I am 41, down 7 lbs so far, looking to leave behind 14 more before New Years.

I eat mainly low carb, high protein because sugar is my weak spot and I can't stop once I get started. I am also walking at lunch every day (2 miles) and doing "turbo abs" a couple of times a week.

Hoping to meet some like minded women!!

Welcome, looks like you are doing great. Do you walk inside or outside at lunch time. If you walk outside how do you still do that when the weather gets back. Nice going on the weight loss.

I've really been slacking in posting here....it's been busy around here.

My office assistant is off this week so I'm on my own and there is a lot going on with DD's school (3 parades, homecoming game and a concert) and she and I are going to a Mother-Daughter tea on Sunday (I hope my skirt fits!).

DH went to the doctor about his knee pain (I made him start the C25K program and after 2 weeks his knee started hurting). Apparently he is more out of shape that we thought! His quads aren't strong enough to support his knees so he got a slight injury. So he's got orders to rest it, ice it, take anti-inflammatories and then he can use the Nordic Track to build up his quads and then he can run. My thoughts? He's going to rest it and just keep on resting it. Yeah, I know, I have a lot of faith in him! LOL

Sometimes we don't find out what kind of shape we are in until we start trying to get in shape lol. You make that man take care of the injury.

Diane don't blame yourself. There's a few of the regulars that used to post I haven't seen for ages. You didn't lose them

Shy, I usually walk outside, but I live in upstate NY (about an hour and a half from Canada) so when it get's really cold I've gone to the mall to walk or the Civic Center here has a walking program too.

That is real nice to have some place to walk. Around here I would have to drive 1/2 an hour just to get to the mall. To much trouble for me. I just walk here in the house. I am now doing two different 1 mile videos a day.

Shy, The walking videos are really neat though, I saw one on the Exercise TV channel. Any way we can get moving right?

I have a bunch of walking videos. You walk in place or you can move around a bit. Depends on what they are doing in the video. Right now I am using Miracle Mile Walk 1 Mile with Leslie Sansone and Walk Away The Pounds With Leslie Sansone 1 Mile Get Up and Get Started. I do one in the morning and on in the evening. There are a lot of stores like walmart or target that sell them. You can get them on line all over the place ebay might be a place to try. Sometimes you can get them from your local library to see if you like them before you shell out the money. They aren't real expensive.

Day after Halloween and there is loads of candy that my youngest got last night when she was out. I admit I've had a couple of pieces but there's a lot of it I don't like which is a good thing.
