Melissa, in any case, this is not a contest. But you are doing GREAT!!! Especially with that HEAT, yikes! I don't like the heat but am fortunate that we have such a nice pool and at least I can get in the water!! But I have definitely been busting butt so far this month LOL. Wow I just averaged my time and yes, I am cranking LOL. But I won't keep UP this pace as I don't always do the water aerobics every night.

I don't know if the exercise bike really helps all that much... but I take my book out on my deck and ride it; I figure it is better than lying in BED reading a book. I am hoping it will at least help tighten up the saggy skin on my legs.

Heather, I agree... I post multiple times but it DOES help if the group total is clear and in bold print, etc., so we can keep it straight.

Misti - Yeah, this isn't a contest, and I am the same as you, I don't think I will be keeping up this pace...all I can do is try to move as much as I can, when I can. The best thing I can do is concentrate on my improvements and my goals and just do what I can. It helps for me to keep a mental picture of the physical changes I want to make as I'm exercising, hehe. Yeah, the heat is tough...but it's nice to be able to go for night walks - that helps.

I finally managed 57 minutes over two days of stationary bike and elliptical. I'm sore. This isn't going to be as easy as I thought.
GROUP `4486 + 57 = 4543

harkeyvalley - 57 minutes is awesome! Don't concentrate on what you haven't done...concentrate on what you HAVE done. Sorry that you're sore...have you trying just walking outside? Maybe that would be better? Keep up the good work!

Hi Ladies - Got in a 24 minute walk tonight...planning on doing my other little things later..! Edited to add: I also did 18 minutes of yoga moves/stretching/calf exercises tonight. A new total of 42 minutes. So I will add them all at once considering nobody added new minutes after my earlier post. New totals are:

Personal Total: 398 + 42 = 440/310 - 130 minutes past my goal!

Group Total: 4543 + 42 = 4585

Yesterday I was at the pool for 4 hours swimming and playing with my niece. I'm so red!! I forgot to bring extra sunblock. But it was worth it.

I was in a bit of a funk last night and didn't feel like doing much, so I got in my promised 10 minutes bringing my total to 295.

The group total is now 4,835 + 10 = 4,845

Oh wow. One week in and we're nearly at 5k? At this rate we would shatter our own record -- I think the most we've done before in a month is just over 16k!

Not to mention, we're on track to meet our 100K minutes goal FOR THE YEAR in just a few days!!!!

Actually, I'm putting us over 5k. I just did a great 28 min walk with a colleague at lunch!

Group total ~ 4998 + 28 = 5026 minutes!

I would love to walk but the heat index here in Harkey Valley, Arkansas (gee where did she get her online nickname?LOL) is over 105 degrees and we don't know what a paved road looks like unless we drive a half hour to town. You won't believe the dust storm that is caused by a speeding pickup. You can't see let alone breathe. Rural living is great except for walking on a dirt road. Does walking around Walmart for 30 minutes count? If I lived closer to town I go there everyday and walk in air conditioning. Gotta go. I hear my stationary bike calling me. I can't let Melissa and Sue steal the show.

LOL!

harkeyvalley - ...In my opinion..of course walking in Walmart counts..it's movement, right? It all counts. Exercise comes from wherever you can squeeze it out of, lol.

Hi Ladies - Got in a 37 minute walk so far. Later on I am going to try to fit in my upper body strength training, as well. New totals are...

Personal Total: 440 + 37 = 477/310 - 167 minutes past my goal.

Group Total: 5056 + 37 = 5093
