I figured yesterday's exertion would hurt me today, and it did. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and 15 minutes on the treadmill. That brings my total to 215.
Hi Again Ladies - Did some lower body exercises (calf raises), some yoga moves (warrior, tree, etc), and some stretching (calves, back, etc). Did 12 minutes worth - considering I already walked for an hour today I didn't think I needed to push it with exercises that I didn't even plan to do in the first place. Felt like giving a little lower body boost with some relaxation - but I still broke a sweat, yay!! So, totals now:
Personal Total: 249 + 12 = 261/310 - 49 minutes to go! Tee Hee!
Group Total: 2690 + 12 = 2702

Harkeyvalley – welcome! However, I wouldn’t call 30 min a day a start – I think it’s quite ambitious – maybe too ambitious! I really had to work up to that. I think if you really are just starting out you may want to think about what is realistic for your body as well as how to fit in into your day. Also, can you go from nothing to committing to something every day? If you only work out 6 days a week, then to keep the 30 min average (out of 7 days) you actually have to put in a few more minutes each day to keep up. When you’re first starting out, this can be defeating.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. We are all at different places here, and if you are just starting out you should not compare yourself to someone who has been exercising for a long while. When I started I could barely manage 400 minutes/month!!
I keep seeing people around here starting with really high numbers and many of them give up and leave! Please set goals appropriate for where you are now in your journey!
Vilandra – I think you set a GREAT first goal and boy won’t you be ecstatic when you crash through it!
As for me, after nothing on Thursday, I am redeeming myself. Yesterday was 55 min (30 min walk and 25 min lifting) and then hubby and I walked downtown and back (56 min)... so I can add 111 minutes!
Group total ~ 3167 + 111 = 3278 min!
