LaurieDawn, me too! I ran a 10K yesterday, mowed the grass and did the grocery shopping. Had barbeque for dinner - passed on the chips, thank goodness, and all sorts of junk food at the 10k venue - but still not quite there yet. Maybe tomorrow.

LaurieDawn- One more day and you both will be one the next thread. Good luck

Great job, Lisha, on the loss. Progress is good.

Calluna - that's amazing! I actually chose to only weigh once a week so I could exercise hard without stressing about temporary gains. I love that that someone who weighs the Same as me runs! I run, too, but mostly HIIT, so I don't know how far I could run at steady state, but I guarantee it is not 10k!

Next week, baby, I will hopefully be moving on FOREVER!

I am down another half pound. That is better than being stagnant. I am so excited my husband bought me a heart rate monitor today. He has the prime account with amazon so I have him order thing for free shipping.

I will post more later but I am off to get set up for activtrax at the Y. Its like a trainer but through a computer. I am getting shown how to do the machines for strength training. I am so focused on getting this weight off.

I'm so happy for everyone! Seems like a lot of people are doing well I'm faltering quite a bit back up to 249 so I'm needing to find the motivation to get my butt in gear. I'm wanting to try zumba on the wii but after I bought it, I got scared of what if that makes so much noise the neighbor files a complaint. Anyone use it before? I don't know if I'm going to end up making him think I've got a herd of elephants up here especially since my cat already runs through the house sounding like a miniature donkey lol

@ilidawn- I wouldn't worry about what the neighbor thinks! Just do the zumba during the day and I doubt that would cause a problem. I used to hate having downstairs neighbors but they rarely complained.
My weight is bouncing around too.. TOM is almost over so I am hoping it levels out! Until then I will be keeping a close eye on what I am eating.

I was down a pound now up a pound. Probably because I worked and could not work out. I just can't when I work 12 hour shifts. Also I ate a Wendy's berry salad for dinner. I am not sure how much salt was in that chicken. I was good though.

I Start my strength training today. I went on Monday for the orientation but did not have time to do it because I had to pick up my kids. You have 2 hours of childcare at the Y. Not looking. Forward to the crunches.

Yay for strength training, Lisha! I am a total convert. I do The New Rules of Lifting For Women program. Not to sound like a know-it-all when I am absolutely a newbie, but I hope you are not doing tons of crunches. Hopefully, most of your exercises are full-body moves?

I am using program at the Y called activtrax. You put in what you can do (or I should say the trainer did) and it comes up with a workout plan. I did a whole body workout. It took about an hour. I needed to look up how to do some of the exercises using the dumb bells. I have to say I was nervous about going into the weight room. But I gained my courage and forged on. I thought if I am going to succeed I need to do it all. Thankfully no one said anything about the fat girl being in the weight room.

I was very tired after. Is that normal. More so than when I just do cardio. I ended up laying down on the couch for 30min. Just cardi tomorrow and I will have my new heart monitor. Woohoo. I am interested in how Many calories I burn at Zumba.

I would say it's probably normal for the first time. Most of the information I have seen recommends eating proteins and carbs within a short time after you complete your workout to maximize the benefits. Maybe some low GI carbs will help with the tiredness if that fits with your eating plan? Congrats on facing the weight room! That's fantastic!

I just bought new rules for my kindle and am reading it now. It's hard to get my head around eating more. I understand about slowing my metabolism. I don't want to loose muscle as well as fat.

I am almost there for changing my calorie level. Do you use the whey powder? I have changed my eating habits to eating more simple foods. The processed ones seem to have more unnecessary calories. I just need to get passed this idea of low calories equals weight loss. It does buy not healthy weight loss.

So I had to go off my diet for 3 weeks now. I hate it!! I got so used to it after 6 mos. of exercising 4x's per week and eating healthy, it was feelin good. I return home this coming Monday and I'm dreading the weigh in. I feel like I've gained back at least 10 lbs I worked so hard to get off. But I'm really looking forward to getting back home and back on it!. I was 231 when I left and had worked my way to a pretty good run of 22 minutes without stopping. Pretty good actually I thought for a big girl. I plan to spend more time here getting to know people and using the resources that are available here. By the way the reason I went off was because I had to travel with my food concession business, not that it was an excuse but I really did try to manage it the best I could out here.
