CKD = Cyclical Ketogenic Diet
Hi everyone!
I didn't know what CKD was either, so I looked around on the web -- it stands for cyclical ketogenic diet. I think the basic idea is that 5 days a week you eat a diet like Atkins (mostly protein and fat, very low carb, designed to have you in ketosis). Then two days a week you eat a high carb diet designed to rebuild depleted glycogen stores so that you are able to do weight training. I think it's been in use for a while as a competition diet, but is now becoming more popular with us ordinary lifters.
I haven't tried it, so hopefully one of our fellow 3FCs will tell us more.
