Fluffypuppy - my kids are 11, 12, and 14. Glad to hear your dog is doing better. I have 2 dogs that I call my furry kids
Syckgirlsfv - glad you had such fun. Extra bonus to come back without a loss. Cool view.
Diana - your last day sounded awful. Sounds like you have a fun/relaxing vacation planned.
Flower - if you have a pic of your cards, I would love to see them. They sound awesome. I agree the best part of visiting family is when I walk back into my own door.
I'm up to 146. Had soup yesterday so sodium really high. I think that I might try maintaining next 2 weeks. Not sure.
Yesterday at work was awful. No heat!! This is the 3rd time the heat has gone out, they need to get it fixed correctly once and for all. I wound up leaving my shift about 10 minutes early and could tell one of the other stylists was annoyed (and will probably complain) but I don't care. She's lucky I didn't refuse to work the entire day.
So, I'm child-free for winter break, he's with his Dad. I feel like I needed this but at the same time feel guilty for feeling happy about a break. I'm sure you other Mom's get where I'm coming from. I have mixed emotions every year about winter break.
Gym later and then we have a dinner date at Wildfire. It's a very nice steak restaurant. We have some Visa gift cards we got as wedding gifts so we'll cash in.
Yesterday was the first day of Winter break for me.
I spent it in my room binge watching TV shows on netflix and eating. I'm a little disappointed, but it's also been a stressful semester full of homework, work study, and little time for relaxation. Hopefully it's out of my system, because I gained more than 10 lbs since the Summer when I've been wanting to lose weight.
So today is officially the start! I will go to the gym, take my dog for a long walk, and start eating healthily again.
Currently, I'm 178 lbs at 5'8. My goal for this break is to get back into the 160s (I'm assuming I've got a lot of water weight on me due to the amount of salt and sugar I've been eating, and I'm on my period). Then hopefully I'll keep up the good habits through next semester and eventually get down to 150. I've got three weeks here at my parents', then a week of skiing, then back home for school. Hopefully I can just keep myself entertained so I don't eat out of boredom.

Syckgirl, you look fantastic! I'm glad you had a good time.
Ian, safe travels and I hope you have a wonderful time with your littles.
Novangel, sorry about the freezing work. I hope they fix it soon.
Retrorabbit, hi and welcome! Good luck with your weightloss goal.
Diana, your TTOM seems to be doing better for a while now. Maybe just seeing the new GYN scared it straight. Good job on getting your exercise in.
Day 2 of my little work stretch. I've already eaten my 1200 calories for breakfast and lunch. I'm going to try and just water/tea it up the rest of the day.
Lunch was a butternut soup recommended by a friend and it was so good! With bacon and sour cream on top. I had to go back for more. I don't usually like puréed soups because it feels like eating baby food and I prefer some texture, but this was delicious!
Hiddenstar--oh oh, you are gonna have three teenagers soon! Wowzers. Yes my dogs are my furry kids too. My furson and dogter.
Novangel--no heat! I worked for a week in a basement that was freezing and then quit. Are you a hairstylist? Dog grooming is my other trade (when I'm not teaching music). Working with water in the cold is even worse.
Enjoy your break guilt free.
Retrorabbit--welcome! Hard time of year to start a diet so if you can do that you can stick with it! All the best!
Syckgirlsfv--Welcome back! So glad you had a good time!
IanG--have a safe and fun journey!
CoolMom--sounds delicious. Hope you can stick to the tea. I am trying to do the rest of the day on coffee and low cal juice.
Up 0.6 today to 151.6. It's one step forward, half a pound back! Grrrr. So slow these days even though I'm staying really low in cals.
Had three students and a dog groom today. Tomorrow I just have one student and then it's holiday time! Unfortunately, to kick off the week I have a big hole being punched in an outer (cold!) wall to install a bigger window on Monday. I really hate having workers in my place but this is necessary as I have no fire escape without it.

No workout, unless you count goofing off. I needed to pick up a few things for our trip. I got stuck in Christmas shopping traffic so that took up most of my day.
Flower I appreciate your kind words. I hope your trip is a good one.
CoolMom I think the thyroid meds getting regulated has helped with TTOM. That soup looks great and has great reviews.
Hiddenstar I am hoping to maintain, too. Nothing wrong with that during the holidays.
Novangel How was your dinner out? What did you order?
RetroRabbit Hi and welcome to the check-in. Good luck with your weight loss goals.
Syckgirlsfv Love the pictures! You look great! Looks like you were having a blast.
Fluffypuppy Is your puppy doing better today?
Ian I hope you have a wonderful trip. When do you return?
Yesterday was pretty good. I don't know where the day went, but it was already afternoon, and I was heading to the gym and had only eaten 2 apples and some raspberries. I just did elliptical for a bit under an hour, the got Chinese food (yum!). I took my dog on a quick walk, came home, and took a hot bath for a little while. I had two bananas and a little too much peanut butter for a dinner/snack, but I woke up hungry.
It mostly feels good to have an actual workout done in a day.
I'm making sure to drink lots of water, too.
I know it's a tough time of year to start weight loss, which I realized after I got home
Hopefully I'll do okay though. I'm vegan, so there's usually not a whole lot for me to eat at family gatherings, but I always seem to be able to fill my plate. I'll be determined to keep it at enjoying myself and indulging a bit. As long as the holidays don't turn into a binge, then I'm okay
