Skating again

Hello everyone! Glad to see everyone is doing well. I have been roller skating again! If I don't get any other exercise at least You all know that I have been skating. I have not seen a loss on the scale, actually a gain. My husband still says I look smaller, especially in the legs and butt. That is good! LOL Of course my chest area looks smaller, too. Isn't that one of the first places to lose. Work has been ok, not great, just ok!!! Hope everyone's weigh in does well tomorrow! See all of you later!
Catherine
;)

ejb180 02-27-2006 06:19 AM

No loss this week. It seems that I am only losing every other week. I packed some tuna kits for the office lunch stash so I can stay on track and set some March goals for the exercise (it seems that I just can not get going on the exercise side).

Monday

Hi ladies, Happy Monday! :dizzy:

Hi Jen, nice to meet you.
Erin, I'm the last one to give exercise advise but I recently started and can say for me, it's finding something that's not too hard and can be fun. I've been doing Blast Away the Pounds and although I like it, I'm changing it up already so I don't get bored.

For any of you that have On Demand TV, there's a fitness channel that has ALL kinds of workouts. I scanned through it yesterday and did a 10 minute cardio hip-hop workout (yes the kids were laughing at me). It was hard because of the dance moves but I want to keep doing it till I get it down pat, it made me feel young! I also did a 15 min. walking workout which was similar to my BATP but a nice change of scenery and music.

I have to look back I think I read about someone here using the The Firm? I bought the step thing (Transfirmer?) and 4 DVDs at a local Goodwill store yesterday for $10.99 I figured for that price it's worth a try.

Well, I'm happy to report that I lost 2.4 lbs (rounded to 2) and Mike lost 3 more pounds this week giving him another sun!! :goodscale

I got my Enell sportsbra Saturday. DH thought he'd be cute and try it on himself! Other than the fact it takes me about 5 minutes to squeeze my boobs into it and button it all the way up the front, it does work well. I didn't think I'd ever get it on. I can't wait to reduce my breast size!

Well, I'll check in a little later on, boss is away again today ;)

Mo

MoNewEngland 02-27-2006 09:37 AM

Wow, it looks like I got a good deal on The Firm. It goes from $60-80 + S&H. I looked it up on collagevideo and it says "intermediate". I may try it but if it's too hard I'll save it for a few months down the road. I read back and see that Sarah was using the Firm quite a bit. Sarah, are you out there still?? I miss so many of our posters who seemed to have vanished :?: I hope they're all doing well.

Forgot to post my menu again:
B: cereal, L: mini bagel w/PB & yogurt, S: pretzels D: salad & 1 boneless rib, S: 2 red. fat cookies Exercise: 10 hip-hop, 15 walk Pts 26 Water: 32 oz

Catherine: way to go on the rollerskating, that sounds like so much fun. I have a pair but am always afraid I'll fall and hurt my back/hip area.
Nori: I hope DD is better, haven't heard from you in a few days.
Lisa: Are the computer problems all resolved?

hellokittyfan 02-27-2006 10:28 AM

Happy Monday!!!

Hi guys,

Elizabeth - welcome back!!

I had a fabulous wekeend at the spa!! It was wonderful, although I felt sick most of the time (bad cold). It was great and I enjoyed every minute of it!!

Hope all are well. I'm hanging in there. :)

Have a great day!

Lisa:carrot:

Nori71 02-27-2006 11:35 AM

Mo - Wow! I'm jealous - you got a great deal on The Firm!!! I've been looking at it off and on wondering if I should add it. I'm not going to yet. I like the gym and am in a groove with the dvd's I have right now. But when I get bored I'll tryit I think. Maybe I'll start looking at thrift stores off and on! Congrats on the 2.4 pounds.

Erin - I've lost like that before while dieting too. It would seem like my body would hold onto the fat for a week or two and then BAM, let go of 5 or 6 pounds real quick. Our bodies are weird. Maybe you haven't found something you really like to do when it comes to exercise?

Lisa - glad you had a good time at the spa! Sorry about the cold.

Hi Elizabeth! You are doing so good!!! 25 pounds gone!! I love walkingoutside with the girls too. I'll be doing it more consistantly once the weather warms up and they don't have colds every other week.:dizzy: I'm still tracking calories daily also. I use Nutridiary.com. I love it. I don't know when or if I'll be able to quit writing everything down.

Jen - Welcome back! Nice to hear from you again!

Catherine - you go girl with those rollerblades!!! I kwym about losing from the chest area. Why? I'm only a B as it is right now. And last time by the time I got to around 180 I was in an A.

I lost 1.5 this week. Good for TOM! I had my "roughest" days on Saturday and Sunday so far. Didn't "overeat" - but didn't have a calorie deficit either. My baby was sleeping HORRIBLE and both nights was awake for 3 hours in row in the middle of the night. So I ate. :?: At least I stopped myself from going into a total binge... I kept up with the calorie counting (being accountable really does help me!), exercise and water and no real damage done! Scary though when I felt those old tendencies coming back SO STRONG. I suppose I'll always have them? Like an alcoholic is to alcohol I am to food.

Hello everyone else! Let's have a good week around here! I'm off to shopping now. Already did my workouts - WATP's 3 mile and Tamilee's I Want That Body. That whole dvd kicks my ***!! Totally. It hurts to sit on the toilet...

Katie Bug 02-27-2006 04:20 PM

Hello ladies!

I've been here exercising a lot and eating (pretty) healthy. However, I think I am coming down with something because my throat is sore and I have a persistent cough. Bah! I know I should take it easy from exercise while I'm sick but I just want to get up and MOVE! :( My apetite is gone, though, so maybe I won't be tempted to eat between meals.

I'm off to take a nap. My medicine is making me sleepy.

jamamom 02-27-2006 05:33 PM

Happy Monday!

Well, It has been along day! I weighed in and I am still holding where I was at. My pants are baggy though. Great weight loss everyone!

Katie, Hope you feel better! Your weight loss is an inspiration to me. Our goals are about the same. You are doing great!

Elizabeth, Nice to hear from you. Hope you and hubby are still doing well with the weight loss! Check with us as you can. None of us would be here if it wasn't for you!

Nori, Hey girl, I hope my TOM goes as good as yours! The last few months I craved chocolate and salt. I still have about 10 cases of Girl Scout cookies in my house. Temptation is bad!

Mo, You didn't say how cute your DH looked in the bra?! I have not had a cig. since Friday. Aren't you proud of me? I can do it, I have before. Trying not to let everything get to me so bad. It seems I either emotionally eat or light up, I am trying to get out of both. Smoking will be the easier one.

Erin, Isn't tuna just yummy? Are you tired of it yet?

Jen, Awesome on the water! Drink some for me too, please !!! LOL

Hey everyone I know why they call this three fat chicks! It is because we eat up so much chicken! We should all be clucking by now!!!!

Talk to all of you later.
Catherine

ejb180 02-27-2006 06:26 PM

So tired!! I think the cold is sneaking back against me.

Just wanted to check in - I am going to try to get up and move a bit - I will post more later - take care all,

E

MoNewEngland 02-27-2006 09:02 PM

Monday Night

Hi girls.

I tried to do The Firm's Ultimate Calorie Burner tonight and found it pretty difficult. At first the moves weren't that hard but they only do like 2 reps and go to another new move, I couldn't keep up with the changes :dizzy: I did almost half of it and then gave up a little discouraged. I couldn't believe the step is 14" tall!!! I ended up using just the 8" but still had trouble....oh well, I'll try it again another time. I did do an easier 20 min workout instead and drank more water than usual.

I have a couple of points left and am still hungry. I think I'll have a 2 pt snack and go to bed.

I hope everyone's colds go away. Talk to you all tomorrow.

dgpebbles 02-27-2006 10:33 PM

Hello everyone...well my weigh-in today was not what I wanted...I only lost about .8lb...I think it has to do with working out with weights some and I think I'm retaining fluid....I still need to kick up the exercise some more...Work has been kicking my butt..I've had to work over every day this lst week and today...I'll be glad when it slows down.

Congrats to everyone on their loss this week.

MoNewEngland 02-28-2006 10:16 AM

Tuesday...

Boy today's not been good so far...

the dog woke me at 3:30 to go out but she had already peed on the rug
I used someone elses toothbrush by mistake
my earring almost got lost down the bathroom sink drain
my son forgot his lunch and I had to drive it to his school
I of course was late for work
DH just called to say he put a hole in the baseboard of our new, extremely expensive kitchen cabinets. He thought he'd use his foot and rag to clean the corner and must have kicked it hard???
a different tooth has been hurting for a week, now I have to call the dentist

On the bright side, my boss won't be in today ;) I'm still a little discouraged about that workout last night. I wish I were a little more coordinated.

B: cereal, L: Lean Cuisine, S: goldfish D: hotdog, beans, salad, S: granola bar Pts= 26 Exercise= 30 min Water= 50+ oz.

Ok, I've vented enough I guess. I hope everyone has a great day. Hey, I just found a pair of sneakers under my desk, maybe I'll go for a walk at lunch to give me some motivation.

Mo

marinemommyof2 02-28-2006 02:50 PM

I'm back! Sorry I was gone for so long. My best friend's mom was killed by a drunk driver. Then, my husband had eye surgery (PRK) and I've been playing nurse to him. His eye surgery was at Camp Pendleton, so we were there for several days, and I don't have a laptop.

It's great to be back!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE ON THEIR LOSSES! Keep up the great work!

Nori - how's your baby doing today? Hope that cold is going away.

Mo - oh my goodness, isn't the 14" worth of step ridiculous? Like you, I do the leg presses and that on the 8". I haven't worked up to the 14" yet. But I love the Firm. Talk about seeing results when you stick with it. I have got to get back in that groove.

Serena - great to see you checking in!

As always I'm at work, so I can't keep up the personals right now. I was a bad bad bad bad bad loser this week - I ate out and made poor choices. Plus, I didn't exercise. So I have regained, but I'm going to give myself until Monday to re-do my ticker.

Hugs!!!

Nori71 03-01-2006 12:48 AM

Hi Sarah - she's actually seemed to get worse last night and today. I cannot believe how many colds these girls have had in the past 8 weeks. Hopefully she'll get some good rest tonight. You've lost a few more pounds!! Congrats! How horrible about your best friends mom. Such a waste. A friend of my Mom's is/was planning on getting married on Saturday and last night her DF's 17 year old son was killed by a drunk driver. Do they have a furneral on Friday and a wedding on Saturday? I cannot imagine.

Well I gotta get to bed now that both girls are down. My computer was down for most of the day, but it was slow here too!

MoNewEngland 03-01-2006 08:52 AM

Nori/Sarah: So sad to hear of the drunk driving deaths. It is such a horrible thing to lose a life, especially because of someone's selfishness and carelessness.

Nori: I saw you over on Smoo's thread, aren't her pictures unbelievable!!!

Donna: Congrats on the .8 lbs loss!! Thank goodness for digital scales, at least you know you lost ;)

I ordered a pedometer yesterday, does anyone here wear one?

B: cereal L: Lean Cuisine D: hotdog, roll, beans S: 2 red. fat cookies & a few cheez-its. Points= 26 Exercise: 15 min Water: 32 oz?

I really need to concentrate on my water intake. I never did walk at work yesterday because I didn't want to go by myself.

I bought DH and DD tickets to go see the play Annie at the local theatre for Friday night. She's excited she's having a date with Daddy but she doesn't know where they're going yet!

Happy hump day!

dgpebbles 03-01-2006 09:04 AM

I tried using a pedometer a few times but at work i do alot of bending and moving around and it always keep resetting so I gave up....I'm right there with you on the water...I've been getting about 60 oz daily but I need more cause my sodium intake seems high and I think I'm retaining fluid.

Nori - Sarah --Sorry about your losses...Hope everyone in your family is doing good...

marinemommyof2 03-01-2006 11:16 AM

Nori, oh I'm so sorry for your mom's friend. That is just horrifying. I've read that to lose the child is the number one traumatic loss a person can suffer.

Mo & Nori - who is Smoo? Post a link! I love pictures of success stories. Gosh they are so motivating. I have an amazingly fat looking picture of me holding my baby right after he was born, and then you can tell such a difference with the pics we took at Christmas. If I can figure out how to post them, I will.

DG-I have got to get better about drinking the water, too.

I had my follow up doctor's appt. yesterday. I had lost weight, but it still hadn't made a significant impact on my blood pressure. Considering my family history, I may get stick skinny and still have hbp. So they put me on a "water pill" which is supposed to get the extra sodium and water out of my system. She also gave me a copy of the "DASH Diet" which is for hbp, but not weight loss. So I asked her what in the world am I really supposed to be eating? Because my dr. before her told me low carb is the only way to lose weight - and I didn't believe her and didn't go on low carb, I just gave up sugar and white rice and white bread. So she put in a referral for me to meet with the dietician at the base hospital. So I'll let you guys know what the dietician says!

Okay, back to the grind! Have a great day, everyone!!!!

desertdreamer 03-01-2006 11:44 AM

Good Morning everyone. I'm not having a very good morning. I just feel blah. I'm getting really down on my lack of loss and right now the scale seems to be going back up. Not very motivating to see, to say the least. I really just wanna go and hide and pull the covers over my head and not come out til tomorrow. I hate that I feel this way, hate that I let that stupid # affect the way my days will turn out. What can I can, I'm a numbers addict! ;) Can you say OCD? Seriously! I hate to be such a downer right now, everyone is so cheery and bright today, but I just needed to come somewhere and get this out. My dh, while he tries to be supportive really doesnt know what to say to me about any of this, and then when he can't it makes me madder. Does that make sense?

Nori and Sarah, I'm so sorry for the losses for both of you. My prayers are with those families.

Sarah, how's dh doing today? Chin up about those extra lbs., you'll lose 'em quick, I know it! Camp Pendleton, huh? Do you live on the base? I grew up about 30 min. or so from there, more inland though. Hope work is treating you right today and you get to come and play with us here! :) How's the water pill working out? I have never heard of the dash diet. Is this something that's very low carb? I did low carb last year and did extremely well, the weight flew off, but it's incredibly hard to live a lifestyle like that when the rest of the family is not. I really hope you will find success with getting your hbp down soon.

Nori, I hope your family is getting well. The colds that are going around now are just awful. My DS was home sick yesterday and insisted on going today. I think he was afraid of getting too far behind (he's in middle school) especially in some of the honors classes, they go so fast. I am waiting for a phone call from the nurse, I don't think he felt all that great.

Mo, you go girl with workin that Firm! I had really been looking into this as it seems a great way to really get to those hard spots..like my back end!
But hey, if you're having a harder time with it then I don't know if I'd be able to handle it, I got about 40+ lbs on ya. Let us know if it gets easier for you and any results you see. It's flying off the shelves over here, alot of places are out of it. I want a new pedometer. The one I had was just a cheapy and it keeps resetting itself so I just gave up. What kind did you get? How incredibly sweet that dh and dd are going out for a night on the town. I saw Annie when I was around 9 with my mom and it's something I will never forget, it was amazing.

donna, how's the water today? I need to get some extra in today, my fingers look like little sausages. :D I usually get in around 120 oz a day with no problem, but last few days I've fallen way short of this and I know I'm retaining big time. If you set a goal and do it today, so will I, k? :)

Well girls, I'm gonna go take care of some chores keep my mind off my mood for a little bit. Thanks for listening to me whine today, promise I won't do it again. :)

Take care.

MoNewEngland 03-01-2006 01:33 PM

Danielle: we all have those days, it's good to hear from you  You're right just having this place to get things off your chest can be a real help.

Sarah, they say it's important to drink a lot of water when you take water pills. I'll try to find the post from Smoo now.

I ordered the Omron HJ-112 that was recommended here on this site. It's $18.74 at Walmart.com I should have it in a few days I guess.

Be right back with the link if I can figure out how to do it.

MoNewEngland 03-01-2006 01:34 PM

I hope this works, her photos are amazing!!

Katie Bug 03-01-2006 04:40 PM

Hello everyone! I went to the doctor today, and I only have post-nasal drip, so I can start working out again! I'm so glad I don't have strep or a virus. My apetite is still gone, though - but that's a good thing :) Makes it easier to resist snacks!

Mo- Wow!! Smoo's pics are great and so inspiring :) Thanks for sharing.

Danielle - I know where you're coming from. My BF tries to be supportive too, but he's never been overweight in his life (he's actually way underweight). Sometimes he says things without thinking and it makes me so mad (ex: "No, you don't need that cookie"). That just makes me want to eat it more! I know he has my best intentions at heart, though. I'm sure your DH does too :)

Katie Bug 03-01-2006 05:13 PM

I know I just posted, but I came up with some March goals that I wanted to share..

1. I'm aiming to stay on plan with eating and exercising 80-90% of the time this month. That's about 25-27 days.
2. I want to get around 800 minutes of exercise in this month. I have no clue if this is realistic, but I do workout a lot, mainly for 45 minutes - 1 hour at a time.
3. I want to be more consistent in logging my food into Nutridiary. When I go out to eat or if I go to a party I don't log my food because I'm scared of what i'll see in the "calories consumed" box! I need to get out of that habit.
4. I'd like to lose 5 pounds below my actual weight. I'm very bloated right now so the scale isn't accurate.

I know I can do this!

serena37 03-01-2006 07:13 PM

doing well

HI everyone. I just wanted to post that today has been a good day. I did about 10 minutes on the eliptical this morning and then this afternoon I took my youngest for a walk around the neighborhood. My feet were hurting pretty bad when I got back but it was still nice. I did well with the food consumption today. I tried the morning star farms veggie chick pattie last night. It was surprisingly really good. I don't really care for the hamburger ones though but it's something to eat.

:?: I just have a question though. If you eat one of these veggie burgers or chick patties or whatever else they sale, can you count it as a vegetable?

I can't really say I"ve lost anything though. I've been having a lot of trouble staying within my points but for some reason I keep at it cause I'm hoping that one day it'll just hit me and become second nature and I won't feel the need for the extra points. If I had something to do to keep my mind off of food I would be alright. Of course with 3 small boys under the age of 4 you would think it wouldn't be a problem but there are those few minutes of the day that I'm not being called upon that I for some reason feel the need to scarf down something I didn't really need.

Anyway, glad everyone is doing well. Talk to you all later.

Nori71 03-01-2006 08:28 PM

Hi everyone. Quick post here. Good day here too. I've had a HUNGRY day though! OK, so far I've only eaten 1,000 calories, so a little more to go. Did a walk for almost 1 hour and the 45 minute I Want That Body dvd. IT IS SO GOOD. Yesterday I did the Winsor Pilates Thigh & Buns dvd and also the Abs dvd and WOW! I cannot decide which system I want to stick with so I think I'll just alternate between the 2. I feel these the most out of all the "toning" dvd's I've tried so far.

Sorry not more personal this post. I've gotta go make some dinner. Would you believe that my baby JUST went down for her first nap of the day???? She is something else. I'm only going to let her sleep until 6:30 or so though. I'd like her to sleep tonight also. Who am I kidding?:?: She's an insomniac!

MoNewEngland 03-02-2006 01:24 PM

Snow Day

Hi girls:

Katie Bug: great goals, I need to set some exercise goals when I'm more organized. Glad you just had post nasal drip. Those pictures were great weren't they!

Serena: you're lucky you can walk outside, take advantage of that! I hope the stroller is working out well...that was you who just bought one right? I would think the veggie burgers would count as a veggie.

Nori: I sympathize with you on the sleep deprivation! I don't think I'd be able to cope. Way to go on the exercise and toning!

Danielle: good for you son taking honors classes! This year my son has several study halls and keeps saying his homework is already done. He got a pretty good report card last term but I'm curious if he's really putting 100% effort into his work. His teachers this year like that they do the work in school so that they know it's the child's own work and not that of the parents :o I guess we're all probably a little guilty of helping too much.

Well, I took a sick day because the kids have an early dismissal (snowing here). I'm cleaning down my kitchen cabinets. DH somehow managed to kick his foot through the corner baseboard and the cabinet maker is coming to repair it Monday. The cabinets and island are only about a year old and I don't want him to see his cabinets looking dirty...and they are! :o :o The pain is the cabinets are all the way to the ceiling, I'm having to use a step ladder.

If I don't run out of steam, I'm going to try to clean out the kids closets. I just went to Wal-mart and bought some rubbermaid totes. I also have a small mountain of clothes to fold and dinner (pork tenderloin) to make. It's nice having a day off to actually get some things accomplished :carrot: :carrot:

DD is so excited about her date tomorrow night. She got her haircut yesterday, has her outfit picked out and wants to know if she can wear makeup (she's 9)! She's guessing that they're going to the movies, she'll be so surprised!! :D

B: Cereal L: tuna sandwich D: 2 small slices of pizza (:o was trying not to eat meat!) S: granola bar, grapes, 2 red. fat cookies...I hope that was it, can't really remember now. Exercise: 10 min. Water: ?? Pts: about 29?, 1st time I've dipped into my bonus point though in 6 weeks!

Have a great day, the kids will be home soon, hopefully they won't slow me down!

desertdreamer 03-02-2006 02:13 PM

Hey Mo! How's that cabinet cleaning coming along? Isn't it funny how we always clean before the "cleaner" or "fixer" comes? I used to have a woman come to clean my house twice a week for heavy stuff, baseboards,walls,blinds,etc..and always the night before there'd I'd be cleaning everything. My husband could never figure out why I did that!
I hope you're enjoying your day off, altho it sounds like you've planned out a pretty busy day for yourself. I just cleaned out my closet, sheesh, the stuff I found in there. Having a walk-in closet is a good & bad thing, nice to have room for everything, but that's just it, the family thinks they can put "everything" in there! :dizzy: DD sounds so thrilled about her time out with daddy, so important for little girls to be close to their daddy's. I was a total daddy's girl and still am, even though I am old! ;) Have a great day sweetie, and make sure you take some time for you today. Gotta get your day off's worth of time at least a little for you, right?

Ladies, I want to thank you for all your support yesterday while I was busy having a bad day. It really meant alot to know that I had a place to come where I knew people would lift me up when I needed it. I only hope that I can repay the favor to any of you when you need it most. I really needed you guys yesterday and you were there. Thank you!

Today's a better day. I dusted myself off, got a good nights rest and hit today running. I've gotten in an hour on my bike and a workout w/ stability ball. Feels great to be on top again, and I will try my best to hang on to this feeling before allowing myself to fall again.

I hope everyone is doing alright today, it's a little slow around here. Take care girls, you are truly the best group of women around! :grouphug:

dgpebbles 03-02-2006 02:28 PM

I'm enjoying my day off...I have not done my workouts yet but I did cut the grass today and it was hot...I'm not ready for the heat yet...I hate yard work..I didn't eat breakfast to cause I wanted to get yard done first ..then I went with a friend to eat..I had a steak salad with a little bit of eanch and salsa for dressing..I was good...gone to the book store i a bit to find something new to read..

Danielle - Glad to hear your doing better today.

Maureen - your daughter sounds so excited..you'll have to tell us all about it...Also what is red. fat cookies?

desertdreamer 03-02-2006 02:45 PM

Hi Donna! You go girl with that yard work! That's a workout in itself IMO. I am with you, no heat yet please! I have a feeling this summer will be hotter than usual too with such a mild winter and all. Your lunch sounded extra yummy, I'm glad you enjoyed your time out. The bookstore is one of my all time favorite places to be, I can spend hours in there and not get bored. What kind of books do you like to read? Have a wonderful day. :)

~danielle

Nori71 03-02-2006 02:54 PM

He-he Mo - I had to laugh about the cleaning marathon. I'm in one today too. Appraiser coming tomorrow! Would you believe that I found 2 Christmas decorations still up that I'd missed!

Baby slept better last night. No awake stretches in the middle of the night at least. I "think" she's having problems teething. DD#1 never had a hard time teething. Actually I had no idea she was even teething and then I saw 2 teeth! It's so hard when you don't know what's wrong and cannot "fix" it.:dizzy:

Danielle - glad you feeling up today. That's what we are here for. To share the good the bad and the ugly! Feeling/emotions are so hard to handle sometimes. I'm "used" to coping with stress by shoving food in my face, and now that that's no longer an option, I am a touch more *****y sometimes.

Serena - I'm not sure about those veggi burgers counting as "veggies". Does it list the diabetic exchange points on the box. I go by that sometimes. You mentioned that your feet hurt after walking. What shoes do you walk in. The only reason I'm asking is that I bought some Brooks Synergy 2 walking shoes and I LOVE them. They aren't "cute" (and I used to only go for "cute" factor in shoes until I got pregnant!), but theya re so cushy and comfy. I use them for all my workouts. Walking, toning, cardio on the gym machines... They have made a huge difference in my comfort level while exercising.

Donna - Have a lovely day off!! I LOVE yardwork. Let me work outside instead of inside anytime and I'm a happy girl! Cannot wait to start a garden this year. Oh yeah, what book did you buy?

Katie - GREAT list of March goals. Thanks for sharing. You'll hit all of them!!

Hello everyone else! Can you believe that it's almost the weekend again? Where is the time going? But yeah for summertime coming!

Mo: afraid that wasn't me that just bought a stroller. However I am thinking about buying one of those backpack carriers so I can go for walks with all 3 of my boys this summer. I have a double stroller that my bigger boys can fit in.

MomTo2: Well, the shoes I was wearing yesterday really wasn't good for walking out on the road. The souls of the shoes are really thin. They work fine on my eliptical cause my feet never leave the platform but really for nothing else.

I'm back!

Hi all:

I hope everyone is well. I haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts yet.

I've been out sick with bronchitis for 2 days, finally back at work, but still feeling crappy. I'm not going to worry about working out for awhile until I feel better.

Needless to say, I don't think my weight loss was good the past two weeks.

Oh well. I'll get myself back on track soon.

Take care.

Just a quick check in

Got online to find a recipe and thought I'd check in again.

Reduced Fat cookies (just an abbreviation!) Thought I found something new didn't you! LOL :D

I got a book at the library yesterday called "A Year of Pleasures", pretty good so far. The woman in her 50's loses her husband and just leaves Boston and moves to the mid-west to start anew. 50 pages in and it's pretty good, nicely written.

Wow, it's snowing out and it just thundered like you wouldn't believe. Guess I better go get the kids in!

I lost my instruction manual for my ice cream maker. I just realized the container has to be frozen first :(

I think that noise might have been the plow! :dizzy: I'm such a ditz sometimes.

Book recommendations

Can you tell I'm tired of cleaning!

Currently two of my favorite authors:

David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs

They're both homosexual although Sedaris hardly mentions it in his books, Burroughs does mention it occasionally and in his first book Running with Scissors has a couple of explicit details. They are both VERY funny authors. The books are like biographical essays.

Hi Danielle - we don't live on Camp Pendleton, but it's the nearest Naval Hospital that could do the eye surgery. My husband is stationed at 29 Palms, CA right now. Camp Pendleton is a beautiful area! Where did you grow up? The DASH diet is low sodium, lots of fruits and veggies, reduced meat, and complex carbs. The strange thing is, I'd say that's how I'm eating already. The water pill is going great so far - no side effects. My bp isn't down any yet, but the dr. said it would take a few weeks to see a difference. Which low carb did you do? Southbeach low, or Atkins low? And don't worry, keep your game going - don't let the scale get you down. There is a great article called "Why the scale lies" that describes all the fluctuations you'll see if you weigh yourself daily. Remember to check your measurements. They're usually more cheery!

Katie & Serena - great to see what you guys are doing! : )

Mo-Thanks for the link to Smoo's pics! Okay, did you check out her page about using the Transfirmer??? And what is the Omron HJ-112 you mentioned?

Be back later! Everyone have a great day!

Ooohhh, I love books you guys! I just finished reading "The Gathering of Elegant Snows" by Kris Radish, and "Wickett's Remedy" and I can't remember the author. Right now I'm reading "A Purpose Driven Life" because it's based on 40 days of reading, which correlates with the 40 days of Lent.
