Tuesday

Hi girls. I'm so glad to see everyone is doing so good.

Lori: congrats on the 19 lbs for January that's a super huge loss!!
Lisa & Catherine: congrats on the 2 lbs, let's see if we can do 2 every week, wouldn't that be great! The #2 sounds little, but the word pound is so heavy! We should all have a model of a pound of fat so we realize how much it really is.
Momto2: hang in there, you lost a lot quickly, give us a chance to catch up! You'll drop again soon, maybe increase water? I didn't see any sheets available, I'll double check that would be a lot easier, thanks.
Marine: you still have time to meet your goals, you're doing great, you all really inspire me so much...I can't say thanks enough.

Monday: cereal, Lean Cuisine, apple, clementines, turkey dinner
Total Points: about 20 Water: 30+ oz. Exercise: 15 minutes BATP

Anyone have any new recipes to share? I'm turkeyed and chickened out lately...I have two pork tenderloins in the freezer, maybe I'll thaw them out. Is teriyaki bad for you on WW? I forgot I have veggie wraps to make but the kids won't eat them.

Well, I have a ton of typing to do today, I'll check in later in the day ;)

:grouphug: Have a great day!!!

hellokittyfan 02-07-2006 09:34 AM

Have a good day!!!

HI guys,

Thanks everyone for the support!!

I have a good idea for those of you on WW (even if you're not, these are awesome!). They're the WW All Day Breakfast Cinnamon Sugar Swirl (2 points each). Now the trick for me is to only eat 1. They're so good I want to eat more!!!

I went a little bit over my points yesterday, but I knew it was coming because I went out to eat with some friends, so it was fine.

I worked out first thing this morning because I can't do it at lunch. I did a Taebo workout. I feel good this morning!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Lisa :carrot:

Glad to be back !

Hi Ladies  ~
*peeks her head around her desk and smiles meekly*:halfempty I have been MIA for over a week, and I am so sorry, but everyone at home got sick with different stuff, and work has been a tad busier. I feel like I've missed out on SO much in the past 2 weeks, like I have fallen off the wagon of knowing everyone. Boy, that makes me look like a real heel since I originally started this Group. So please forgive me, and I look forward to being back in action and getting to know everyone again, and the new comers. :o :^:

:welcome3: Maureen & Danielle to the Group. My name is Elizabeth aka MommaAshley, and I look so forward to getting to know you both as you share in this journey ~ You've both posted and I've enjoyed reading and learning about ya'll !!

serena37 02-07-2006 11:42 AM

just a few tips

Lisa: I"m doing WW but on my own so I"m not real familier with all the foods is the WW All Day Breakfast Cinnamon Sugar Swirl is it a recipe or something you purchase already made?

Anyone else that may be interested: Back when I first started WW our instructor, I guess is what you would call her, told us when you think about it as being 1 pound loss it may not sound like much but 1 pound equals 4 sticks of butter so if you think about it like that it sounds like much more. I've lost 7 pounds so far so I've lost 28 sticks of butter.

Also, I'm not real good at doing this myself but it makes sense. I was told once that you shouldn't drink 30 minutes before a meal or during a meal and wait 30 minutes after your meal before drinking anything. Of course it's OK to keep a glass of water next to you incase you get choked up but the reason for this is that drinking before during and after can dilute your stomach acids so that the acids are not able to digest your food as quickly and thoroughly thus hendering weight loss.

But it sounds like everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work!
I'm back on track myself after my brownie insident just completely messed me up with my diet for 2 days. After eating a brownie sunday night all I wanted to do all day yesterday was eat. Anyway, doing good today.

marinemommyof2 02-07-2006 12:00 PM

MomTo2 - Yes, Jiggle Free Abs came as part of my Transfirmer set. I'm so sorry - I didn't see your questions on the Exercise Forum. I need to head back there! Jiggle Free Abs rock - you'll love the video when you get it. My husband is going to start doing it with me. Thank you for the encouraging words. I will spice up my routine a little. At the gym, I've added in 5 minutes of stairstepping. I know it doesn't sound like much, but whoa is that some work! I also need to do my Firm videos more - I feel like if I could just put some more muscle on I could really blast some fat off. I like to imagine the muscle arm wrestling the fat outta there.

Catherine - CONGRATS ON THE 2 POUNDS!!!We are stationed in 29 Palms, CA right now. In August we're moving to South Carolina. WAHOO!!!!!!

Nighthawk - WTG!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Everyone keep up the great work. You motivate me so much!!!!!!!!!

Nori71 02-07-2006 12:28 PM

Sarah - thanks. I just added the StairMaster on Saturday too. I did 30 minutes the first day (because there were no other empty machines) and then yesterday cut back to 15.

I don't have tim efor personals right now...in the middle of big time house cleaning...I just have to get my 3FC fix for the hour!

hellokittyfan 02-07-2006 01:35 PM

Hi there!

Hi guys,

Welcome back Elizabeth!! Life gets hectic sometimes doesn't it?? I hope you and everyone in your family are feeling better!! Congrats on losing all that weight and reaching your Valentine's goal early, I'm sure that makes you feel wonderful!!!

Serena - the WW snack I mentioned is a WW snack bar. I got it at my WW meeting, so not sure exactly where to get it, maybe grocery stores or check WW website. They're so yummy!!

Take care.

Lisa

marinemommyof2 02-07-2006 04:57 PM

Elizabeth - WELCOME BACK, STRANGER!! We have all missed you! :grouphug: It's so great to see you again. Keep up the great work! :high:

Nori - how in the world do you manage 30 minutes? LOL Do you set it on manual or one of the programs? :tired:

Lisa - I think you can only buy those bars at the WW meetings. At our meetings they sell bars, crisps, oatmeals, candy and smoothies that you can only get at the meetings. The only way I know to get the stuff without going to a meeting is to check it out on Ebay, but sometimes it is way overpriced. It's a conspiracy to make you come to the meetings. LOL :o

Everyone, I hope you're having a great day!

Nori71 02-07-2006 05:10 PM

Sarah - I had it on "random" program and only at level 5 out of 20. Random is nice because it speeds up for 1 segment and then slows down gradually or rapidly for the next segment and then back up.

Anyone do the Elliptical michine by LifeFitness? It's the one with the arm action? I usually use the Precor Ellipticals, but decided to mix it up today. I did it today for 30 minutes. It's nice because it also works your arms - sort of - it's still mostly lower body. Plus I like it better in reverse mode than the Precor. As soon as my belly gets smaller I'm going to venture onto one of the rowers. That seems like it would be so good for getting a sexy back!

Yes, hello Elizabeth! Nice to hear from you and to see yet another adorable siggy with Sam in it!! Congrats on your weight loss too. Fantastic!:carrot:

jamamom 02-07-2006 05:56 PM

little off the rocker

Hello everyone, So glad to hear from so many of you! :D I so look forward to getting on here everyday! I have to have my 3FC fix like Nori does! Well, I would not say I have fallen off the wagon but I did fall off the rocker a little today!:o I had Chinese for lunch! Very good!! Had not had it in awhile. Of course it tore my stomach up. I guess that is what I get. I have not set up an appt. with the trainer yet, still need to get all my forms to the doctor. even though it will not cost that much I do want to wait until my taxes come back, so I do not mess myself up. I also want to get my own elliptical. I still have not found the BL dvd, even at Wal-mart. Will do my squats and crunches in a little while.

Nori, that is amazing how much time you did on the stairmaster! You go girl!!!!:carrot: I plan on going skating on Saturday again. I really enjoy it. Hopefully We can get someone to stay with my father-in-law and my husband will be able to go to!:dancer:

Elizabeth, so glad to have you back! great job on the weight loss!

Lisa, try some of the South beach diet bars, I love the Cranberry almond. I really like the wraps that they have also. They come two to a package but I only eat one and save the other one for the next day at work, since I am doing small meals.

Marine Mom, It said you were from VA, that is why I asked. South Carolina will be cool.

Maureen, Maybe we can stick with the two pounds each, it does add up! I told my husband about the pound of butter. So he passed me a frozen pound roll of sirloin burger. So looking at that two pounds is a lot.

Well, I need to go start dinner and help my daughter with her math homework!:spin:

See ya later!
Catherine

Hey Lori - I was reading back and this line really stuck out to me!! Congratulations!! You are doing great!!:) It is cool how something completely unnatural does become second nature in a pretty short amount of time, isn't it?!

Catherine - I'm actually a little scared of skating.:dizzy: I like Chinese also. And not the healthy stuff. It's so hard when things you don't plan for bombard your day and plans. It'll be fine though. We'll all eat Chinese (or something we like) again! Speaking of taxes, I just keep checking our bank account to see if the refund has been deposited yet.

Anyone else excited about the Olympics starting on Friday? I love the Olympics. Plus, I always enjoy and get emotional at those stories they tell about the different athletes.

Getting Here Late....

Good evening ladies. I hope you all had a great day. I had planned on getting here earlier today to post personals to everyone, but had DH in my hair all day and that threw everything way off track!

You all had a busy day today, it's great to hear. I love reading everyone's day-to-day stuff, it feels so personal, like a family I guess. I love how everyone here seems so close, makes me feel good.

Had an awesome workout tonight. Did #3 of the biggest loser dvd and 1 hr. on the bike. Rockin out to my favorite tunes on my iPod. Gosh, I love that thing, best gift I ever got! :) Feels like I work it harder listening and that makes me feel super.

Catherine, have you tried looking on Amazon for your BL dvd? It's not much more than at WalMart and shipping is way cheap. Might save you some running around time.

Nori, I love the Olympics too! I love winter, summer, whatever's on. I also cry at the personals they do of the athletes. Of course dh just rolls his eyes at me!

Well, it's getting late so I better sign off. I couldn't let today pass without at least a wave to you all.

See ya in the morning!

nighthawk 02-07-2006 11:17 PM

Hi Chickies,
Hope you all had a great tues mine went well I work nights so my days get kinda messed up sometimes.
Maureen: I am with you on the two pounds and although it sounds like a little amount I think we all know that weight loos any faster doesn't stick and we lose lean muscle as well as fat so let's go for 2

Erin: I love those days when I need to eat more I have things like popcorn....6 cups W/ 1 tbsp of light marg only 4 points and it's all I can do to eat it all...of course I do cause thats the way I am ;)

Elizabeth: Hope everything is getting back to normal for you It's way to easy to get bogged down with stuff WTG on you weight loss and meeting your Valentines goal early:cheer:

Serena: Sticks of butter awesome idea I have lost 76 sticks of butter literally since both are fats. The sugar gets me too if I eat sugar man I I'm craving everything and everything.

Sarah: Hows your butt after all those stairs buns of steel coming up?

Nori: My elliptical has the arm action I just noticed today I am growing a bicep :D and I love the fact that my body is starting to crave the exercise and we are having such a nice mild winter I have been just itching to get outside for walks.

Well I am off to throw my body onto the elliptical and get ready for work.
Have a great weds.
Lori

marinemommyof2 02-08-2006 12:02 AM

Catherine - how funny. I've visited Virginia, but we've never been stationed there (yet). When I look at the screen it doesn't list a state for me. Eeek - just looked keyboard. V and C are right next to each other. Is completely possible I mistyped!!!!!

hellokittyfan 02-08-2006 10:00 AM

Good morning!

Hi guys,

Catherine - thanks, I'll have to check out those SB bars. They sound good, too. I'm constantly carrying around my little points slide ruler to figure out how many points everything is. At this point, you would think I would be figuring out points in my sleep!!!

Yeah maybe you can only get those WW bars at the meetings. That would make sense. The scary thing is at the meetings they are $4.50 a box and last week I bought two. I will have to find other, less costly alternatives then. Every once and awhile I might give it to buy them, they are so darn good!!!

Hope all are well. I started doing my Taebo tapes yesterday morning and I'm going to combine them with doing Spinning at the gym during lunch. I hope that makes the fat fly off my body!!! LOL!

Take care,
Lisa :carrot:

Wednesday

Hi girls. What a day...the boss got mad (not at me ;) ) and took off. He tried to be a nice guy and it turned around to bite him. I just hope he doesn't go drinking at 9:30 a.m. I'll have to call his cell and check on him later. It does leave me to catch up on my work and talk to you girls!

Lisa: The cinnamon swirls sound real good, I've never tried taebo but I think my sister used to do it. It looks like fun.
Elizabeth: thanks for the welcome and thanks for starting the thread!
Serena: the butter was a great analogy I'll have to tell DH tonight.
Sarah: the WW snacks sound real good, I did notice my grocery store was now selling WW chocolates.
Nori: good luck on the rower, you can do it! I'm just trying to work up to 2 miles of BATP.
Catherine: my kids have been asking for chinese too, maybe I'll get it for them this weekend. The skating sounds fun, whenever I see the diet pepsi (or coke) commercial of everyone rollerskating I wish I could move like that.
Lori: I like the olympics also. I loved your exercise quote too, I can't wait till I get to that stage.
Danielle: way to exercise!!! Wow!! By the way, where do you download your music from. I bought an MP3 for audiobooks but haven't downloaded any music yet.

Does anyone have any special songs they recommend for workouts?

Menu: cereal, Lean Cuisine, yogurt, granola bar, salad, veggie wrap, skinny cow Pts. about 24 Exercise: 15 min BATP, Water: 32 oz?, Vitamins: no

DH wants to be sure I'm posting his weight loss for him. I'll check in later as I'm sure I'll be bored. Wish me luck tonight on avoiding or savings points for the birthday cake and pizza :yikes:

SoccerGirl 02-08-2006 10:33 AM

Hi Gang - New here... sorta

I'm not exactly new to the 3FC forums. I'll tell a little of my story.

I'm 30 years old and live in Washington D.C. I came to 3FC orginially about a year ago. When I started my diet last January, I weighed 234. By June 2005, I was down to 187. Then something hit me hard. My boyfriend and I broke up and I fell into a huge downward spiral. I became very depressed and my weight shot back up to 202.

I started my program again on 1-3-06 (weighed 200.2) and so far, pretty good. As of yesterday I'm down to 194.2. I've noticed for some reason the weight is coming off slower than last year. But, I'm determined to stick with it.

I'm back here at 3FC for support and motivation. I'm so pleased this forum exists where people can get together and share similar stories and experiences.

So there we go. That's me. :D

desertdreamer 02-08-2006 12:11 PM

Wednesday!

Hello all! Everyone ready for the last half of the week? You are all doing awesome with your plans and exercise. Woo Hoo!!!! :woo:

Elizabeth, fabulous job meeting your V-Day goal early! You rock!!!

Lori, wow 76 sticks of butter! Yowza, that's alot of butter! What an inspiration.

Maureen, I get my music from iTunes. Not too sure about any of the other sites, this is the only one I've ever used. I know you'll find alot if you just do a search for it! Hope the boss isn't out sneakin' a drinky poo! At least hopefully he stays gone long enough for you to catch up though! :D

SoccerGirl, welcome back. I'm fairly new here but it's great to hear of people's successes. I'm sorry you had a rough time awhile back, the most important thing tho' is you started again. Your progress so far is wonderful, I know you will reach goal this time! Look forward to hearing more from you soon!

Ack, I hurt my leg again! I'd hurt it last week working out, it got better, and this a.m. I worked out and it's hurting again. I hope it goes away soon, I don't wanna be sidelined from exercise now that I'm actually enjoying it!
Weather here is gorgeous(80's & sunny), but unfortunately with over 100 days of no rain, fires are starting earlier than expected and everything is soooo dry. I hope this isn't a look into the future of what is to come this summer. Someone needs to do a rain dance or something!

Anywho, that's me for today, so far. Keeping up with my water and food and looking forward to another great weigh-in on Sun. Have a stellar day guys, and keep up the great work!

dgpebbles 02-08-2006 12:50 PM

Hello everyone...I've been really busy ...so far I have in 242 minutes of exercise for Feb so I think I will hit my goal of 1ooo minutes...

Danielle - sorry to hear that your hurt your leg again..I know what you mean about hot weather..I live in texas and it's hot and sticky here all summer

Soccorgirl - great job on your past success...gald you got back on track

Serena - I like the sticks of butter when you think of it that way it even feels gross .....thinking about the sticks that are still here...more motivation the get rid of it

serena37 02-08-2006 02:14 PM

might help

I'm not sure if this will be useful to anyone else but my foot has been hurting pretty bad ever since I was pregnant with my last (3rd) son. I think my weight may have something to do with it plus my back has been bothering me since I was pregnant with my 2nd son. A few nights ago I decided to try yoga, thinking this should be low impact fairly easy to do. Boy was I wrong. It actually was a real workout but when I was done my foot and back were actually feeling better than they've felt in a long time. The next day my foot was sore again but not like it had been. I didn't get a chance to do yoga again last night but I think it may actually help me if I can do it at least a few nights a week.

Keep up the good work everyone!

hellokittyfan 02-08-2006 02:55 PM

Hi! Welcome!

Hi ladies,

Soccer - welcome. You're near me! Small world. I have to say that I agree with you about the weight coming off slower now. I've been trying to lose weight for awhile and it finally started to kick into high gear in January. I thought the first couple of weeks the weight loss would be big - like 3 pounds or so, you know, water weight loss, but nope, the most I lost was 2 pounds last week. I think it's harder when you get older. Sucks!!

I hope you do well on your diet journey. This is a wonderful support board and I have found it to help me alot as I try to lose weight.

Take care.

Where in VA are you Lisa? I'm up near Washington DC...

Wednesday

Welcome SoccerGirl :welcome: I've only been here for about two weeks so I'm new to this thread also. They're a great bunch of people.

Boss just called and left me a voice mail from the casino. He's drunk and down $900! :nono: I'm here left to cover (lie) for him to his boss that he had a family emergency. His boss already called me twice looking for info, I pray he doesn't call me again, I'm not a good liar! :nose:

Serena I took a yoga class once and it helped my back/hip area too, almost immediately. The problem was it was a 2 hour meditation yoga and it was pretty expensive (at a spa). Also, I was the heaviest person there so I felt funny even though the lights were down and everyone was on their back most of the time. The stretching really felt good. The pilates helps me also and that I can do at home (when I do it) :o

Oh boy, boss' boss just called and I'm afraid I stammered a little too much. I feel really bad for my boss, he just really flipped today from stress.

The reason I started to post was to tell you girls that if you have a Shop Rite near you they have Lean Cuisines on sale this week for 1/2 price.:cp:

Will you southern & western girls send some warm weather up north :flow2:

It's only been in the 30's and 40's here which is warm for this time of year but they're talking snow maybe this weekend. :(

Married to a Hot Chick is Hard

Here I go again with the dancing carrot. I just love this thing! :carrot:

That and I got to work this morning and realized I had a baby food stain on my shirt....NICE!! Well this message is about my favorite subject which is of course B. As some of you might know I'm am the groom of the wondermous B. Being married to a hot chick like her is hard. You know how you're walking in a mall and you see a guy that looks like Jerod from Subway's before picture walking with a total knockout? That's the way I feel when walking with B. Of course we are usually on the way to the movies, or someplace dark where I won't embarass her. Occasionally she takes me out in public, but usually it's to the state fair, or a flea market, someplace she knows ugly people feel at home. :D I'm really struggling with this whole diet thing and she is beating my badly. I'm so tired of salad and things with less than 3 grams of fat I could shout. I was looking at a pamplet about stomach surgery last night, and considering my options. There's still that whole 4-7% mortality rate that scares me. Plus that fact that it feels like I'm cheating. I'm considering diet pills such as phentermine/adapex or something that willl help me along. If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears. For the single fellers out there, just keep plantin your tator patch and one day you might grow a rose.

I just have to tell you ! SORRY!

Good afternoon ladies! I just have to tell you, all of you! Please forgive me!!:^: We have a special meal here on campus tomorrow. Guess what it is?! Delectable desserts!!!!:chockiss: Guess who is making the majority of them?! My department!!!! Turtle cheesecake, cream horns, bourbon choc.pecan pie, fruit tarts, apple struedel, black forest cake and that is just to name a few! This is a killer when you are trying to diet! I planned on working out:barbell: when I got home and I ended up working over for a few hours to try to get some of this done! Now I just want to go to sleep! I will eat a salad in a bit and then go to bed. I really want to watch BL tonight! I may have to tape it!

Maureen, I am sorry there is no:sunny: here either. It is very cold out, blowing snow! I am all bundled up! I may be in the south but I am still in the mountains! WW chocolate?! Are you talking about the ww Whitman's chocolate? The pecan clusters are awesome!

Soccer girl, :welcome2: You can do it!

Marine mom, could of been me! I am always tired when I am on here. I am half asleep now. It may have been Lisa! BUt now I know you will be coming east. Beautiful place!

Desert dreamer, I t does feel like a big circle of family , doesn't it?!!!!:grouphug:

Hope everyone else is doing well! Talk to all of you later! :)

I just bet if we asked Elizabeth she would have some HOT & STEAMY :censored: things to say about you! I am pretty positve that she is as proud of you as you are of her!:high: Please do not sell your self short! My husband is not in the best shape either just like me! But as he says we got that way together. I still love him either way as you say tall, short , fat or thin. (Sorry everybody for using the "F" word! ) And if I wanted to I could tell you some HOT & STEAMY :censored: stuff about him too.

Please just keep working at it! You CAN do it! Have faith! And please try to keep the thought of surgery on the back burner for awhile!

Catherine

jamamom 02-08-2006 05:19 PM

Please ignore my typos! I am just pitiful at times!

Nori71 02-08-2006 06:37 PM

Hi everyone!! Busy day today and haven't been able to check in yet.

OMG, Catherine! I'd have a hard time with your tomorrow I believe! I might dream about sugar tonight just with your descriptions!! :m: :chockiss: :cookie: Good luck. Nothing tastes as good as lean and fit will feel! Honestly, I'd probably have to tell myself before hand that I was only going to taste 2 things. I don't know if I'd be able to not eat any of it? More power to you if you can though.

Maureen - how icky that you have to cover for your boss. What happens if you don't? Not the nicest working conditions.

Serena - I tried yoga once and felt so silly that I never went back.:o I know it's good for us. Some day I need to incorporate it into my routine. I've heard great things.

Lisa - you mentioned that you work nights. What do you do?

Danielle - sorry you hurt your leg. Take it easy for a few workouts and see how it feels. Maybe just do strength training for a couple days?

J - :carrot: back at you!! It's sometimes hard to tell the tone of your posts - when it's serious and when it's sarcasm! But taking it seriously, can you change your "plan"? You don't have to eat salads 24/7! If you aren't eating enough fat you will never feel satisfied. We all have to find that plan that clicks with us, or we'll fall off. BTDT!:dizzy: BTW- How much do you have to lose? I am so "anti-diet" - I am eating the same foods that I will eat when I'm at maintenance. ( I don't want that to sound wrong - I'm eating healthy - I'm not eating fried foods - or lots of processed foods.)I cannot restrict myself so much that I don't even enjoy the food I eat. It's about moderation, exercising, doing the right thing. Learn as we go... P.S. I tried Phentermine a few months ago. Worked for about 2 weeks, lost a few pounds, and then nothing. Plus messed up my sleep.

My DH has about 15 pounds he could lose. He was 190 when we met, 240 when we got married, down from a high of 310 (way before we met). Then he was diagnosed with Diabetes 6 years ago. (No joke, we were visiting in Alabama - where he's from - pigging out on yummy southern food when he got sooo sick. Obviously the symptoms had been there for a few months, but he got very physically sick in AL!) Since then he's maintained pretty well. He controls the diabetes with diet and exercise. I cannot wait to weigh less than him!!

Welcome SoccerGirl!! It's a great group we've got here! I'm with you on the "slower" weight loss this time around. I'm OK with it though. I'm being reasonable this time. The only other time I've been serious about losing weight I was soooooo restrictive - eating 800-1000 calories/day and burning off more than that by exercise. So of course I lost fast, only to gain almost all of it back over the past 7 years...:?:

I did the high intensity and weight training sections on the BL dvd this morning and then took the girls for a hour long walk. LOTS of exercise! That's my February mantra. Anyways, where we live, you cannot go anywhere without going up some steep hills. And back down and back up... I have a double stroller that weighs 25 pounds + my 27 pound 2 year old + my 17 pound 10 month old=70 pounds! It's such an upper body workout to hold onto that thing! And I got into my size 18 pants comfortable yesterday!!!!:carrot: Got the 16's pulled up, but no way on earth they were going to zip up!

Have a good evening. Gota go watch Oprah this afternoon. Matthew McConaughey is on!

Hey ladies! I'll be out of town for the next few days, and since I'm going to be eating out 2 times a day I fully expect to maintain or gain this week. :( I'll try to snag nutritonal info so I can plan my meal quickly! I'll be playing my clarinet for roughly 14 hours over 3 days - Fitday says that burns about 960 calories, but I don't know about that :dizzy:

I need to start packing now. Welcome to all the newbies to this group! Everyone's doing fantastic - keep it up!

MOrning gang!

It seems like everyone is doing very well - keep it up!!:high:

Katie bug - well you are out of town just remember to look for some healthy options or something a little different than typically eating out food. I found some of the coolest healthy meal ideas that way.

Nori- You are doing awesome with the exercise - it helps to know we all are doing this together and have to find time when it is a hard moring towake up early for me personally.

Soccergirl - welcome neighbor- I am in MD in Odenton (between Annapolis and Baltimore)

dgpebbles - wtg on the exercose - you are almost a quarter to your goal !!:dancer:

Lisa - How is the Taebo going ?? Keep going!!

This morning I got up and got moving for about 25 minutes - did walk away the lbs a 15 minute session and some time on our elliptical. I have happy hour witht he girls tonight (I will make sure I limit myself to one drink - the beauty of drinking vodka tonics no asks why you stopped when you move to plain club soda).

Yesterday I went to a seminar and saw an associate I see every few months and see said she could tell I was losing!! :flow2:

Have a great day everyone!!

Thursday

Good morning ladies, glad to see eveyone is doing well on their eating and exercise. I didn't get home till 9:30 last night so no exercise, but there's always today!

Menu: cereal, Lean Cuisine, handful of dry cereal, pizza, angelfood cake
Pts: around 28 Water: none: Vitamins: none Exercise: none
Boy that was a bad report :o

I did bring plenty of fruit and water to work with me today :)

J: I don't know how much you have to lose but I hope you exhaust every alternative before considering surgery.

Well, I'm off to look up a recipe and points for pork tenderloin, that's tonight's dinner. I'm going to try for 2 miles of BATP or at least 1 mile and some pilates, I've got to work my way up.

I changed hairdressers the end of December and I really liked the way the woman cut my hair but the place is a little out of the way and she charges $50 a cut, is that high or normal?

Have a great day! :carrot: I love the carrot too!

hellokittyfan 02-09-2006 10:12 AM

Hi!

Hi everyone,

I'm doing pretty well with my with my Taebo. I also do spin classes at my gym during lunch. I'm trying my best.

I don't actually work nights, only days. I'm a secretary.

Work beckons me. I'll check in later.

Lisa :D

Summaries!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! I am evaluating what I am doing. Both exercise and diet. It would really be helpful to me if everyone would post EXACTLY what they are doing, and how much they have lost over what amount of time.

J-don't do the weight loss surgery. I knew 3 people from my old work who had it done. 2 people lost an unbelivable amount of weight - but they had severe indigestion ALL the time. Seriously, even when they weren't eating they had problems. 1 person, he weighed right around 500 pounds when he had the surgery. Well, he got down into the very high 200s, and for him, something clicked where he wasn't happy. He went back to his old eating habits, stretched his stomach back out, and is now back over 400 pounds and the last I heard he had developed even more health problems. Very sad.

Okay - here's my current summary.

EXERCISE: 3 times a week at the gym, doing 20 mins elliptical, 20 mins stationary bike, 10 mins treadmill, and 5 minutes stairmaster. 3 times a week I do some kind of home exercise video -either from The Firm or Walk Away The Pounds.

DIET: I am half-heartedly following the weight watchers plan. I say half heartedly, because I am finding it impossible to always write down my points. I'm looking for an easier diet to follow. One I can live with forever.

WEIGHT LOSS: 26 pounds over 13 months. I know, not a total failure, but I thought I'd be further along by now.

Everyone have a great day!!!!!!!

desertdreamer 02-09-2006 11:36 AM

Good morning everyone. I am soooo sleepy today! I dunno if I didn't sleep well, I thought i did, who knows. The leg's feeling a bit better today, going to rest it today and take the day as my day off this week. Maureen, hope things at work are ok after yesterdays adventures?

Erin, great job on the exercise this a.m.!! Enjoy your time w/ the girls tonight. Doesn't it feel great when people can tell how hard we're working? I hope it made your day! :)

Nori, awesome workout with that stroller, lady! Who needs weight training when you can just wheel your kids up and down those hills! You will have some good lookin' arms for sure.

Catherine, I hope you were a good girl while making all those desserts. I don't envy you there, especially cause I'm craving chocolate now. :)
Did you get to watch BL? It was great, I'm bummed there's no more this season. Love that show!

Hi Chickies,
Hope you all are having a good thursday! So far so good for me (it's 9:30 am;) ) I watched biggest loser last night I love that show it is so inspiring.

Maureen: A couple of oldies I like to work out to are Radar Love by Golden Earing and Barroom Blitz by Sweet Both are fast paced 70's rock. My grip on assuming that I will exercise is still pretty weak but I know if I keep on keepin' on it will get stronger and stronger. So whats the latest on the boss situation lol enquiring minds want to know :gossip:

SoccerGirl: Congrats on stopping your spiral at 202 and not 250 you are still ahead of where you were when you first started

Danielle: 80 and sunny sounds lovely we don't get that till June it's sunny and minus4 here (28 F) should get up to 6 (44 F) this afternoon I'll go for a walk then. I hope your leg is feeling better

Donna: You will hit 1000 minutes for sure your ahead of the game already

Catherine: Yikes on the delectible desserts what torture how did you make out with all those goodies today?

Nori Yahoo :cheer: on the size 18's you'll be in the 16's in no time at all with all the working out you have been doing. It's me that works nights, I work on a locked dementia unit in a long term care facility.

Katie: It's really tough eating out all the time Subway is always my fast food fix 6"in ham and turkey with all the veggies and extra pickles yummy and only 6 WW points.

Erin: Its fantastic when people star to notice you've lost weight I find it gives me incentive to keep going. This time if anyone mentions my eating habbits I tell them I have joined WW it puts a little pressure on me to keep it up. Usually I don't tell anyone that I am dieting then when I fail don't have to face them but this time I am not going to fail.:carrot:

Sarah: You Plan looks pretty good to me but heres mine hope it helps my plan is a graduated one
1. no refined sugar Dec 28
2. 1 hour of Cardio per day Jan 1
3. Weight Watchers Jan 21 I carry my little point tracker book and write down what I eat I don't care who knows I'm dieting cause the sure can tell that I am fat lol I also weigh in on Sat so Sat I can eat up any points that are left in my flex points. I had pizza last Sat
4. Weight lifting. Feb 7
5. Join learn to run progran April 22
As of last Sat I am down 19 pounds or 76 sticks of butter since jan 1

Lori

nighthawk 02-09-2006 12:55 PM

I just realized I am again in the one two punch position of weight loss 1 pound gives me a new avatar and dancing guy and 2 pounds gives me a new BMI
Lori

Nori71 02-09-2006 01:49 PM

Sorry Lori & Lisa I got you mixed up. Funny thing is I'm friends with 2 sisters named Laurie and Lisa and I mix them up IRL sometimes.:o

Lori - that makes for some great incentives! A new dancer + a new BMI!!:carrot:

Lisa - I have a Taebo set too. What one do you do? I have the Billy Blanks (?) one. Bought it on a whim about 3 years ago. Haven't done much with it. It was too fast for me then. Maybe I should get it out now and try again. Spinning is killer! My DH does it sometimes.

Maureen - let me know what you do with the pork tonight. I was just thinking last night that I need to make something with pork soon. Lots of chicken going on here recently. Pork can be so lean also, though. Things better with the boss today?

Catherine - how's is going in sugar **** today?????

Elizabeth - I LOVE the butter blinkie!! Might have to steal that one! Thanks for the inspiration! Were you ever a cheerleader???????????

Sarah - I just started January 5, 2006. As of this Monday I'd lost 14 pounds. AND, I think you've done a great job! Anytime we're not gaining weight is a good time! It sounds like you're finding out what you need to change? If the "points" thing isn't working so great anymore, it quite possibly is time for a change of plans. I see people on here switching things up occasionally once they hit a plateau. Take a look around in the Maintainer's Forum - maybe ask them a question? Right now I'm counting calories.
My plan includes:
  • Drinking a minimum of 80-90oz of water/day,
  • Eating 4-5 small balanced meals (approx 300 calories) through the day (vs. the 3 meals-2 snacks I'd always followed when dieting),
  • Incorporating a lean protein source, vegetables, and whole grains in most if not all meals,
  • Keep fats healthy (I use mostly almonds, some olives and avocados),
  • Upping the fiber - I eat oatmeal with blueberries in it almost every day.
  • Exercise 6 times per week for a minimum of 60 minutes - usually 90, sometimes 2 hours, including cardio and strength training,
  • SLEEP! Sticking to a regular sleep schedule...8-9 hours per night...although I'm up feeding a baby a couple times a night still.
I suppose I'll have to shake things up from time to time also since I have so much to lose.

Erin - way to go on the exercise!! Have a lovely girls night out! You deserve it! How are things going with DH and the rabbit food comments?

Katie - have fun on your trip. 14 hours of clarinet!!!:dizzy: Your lips might be too sore to eat? I agree Fitday has some numbers for things I'd never think to look up. (Some :censored: things too!)

It's a lovely day here today. When DH gets home (off early today) we are going to go for a little hike. Each of us wears a girl in a carrier and off we go.

Hi everyone I didn't manage personals for. I love having this group to check in with and follow along in each ones journey to good health! Have a great day ladies & J! :carrot:

MommaAshley 02-09-2006 03:02 PM

Hey Nori

Thanks for what you said, and you can steal that or any of the blinkies I posted ANY time !! That's what they were there for !!

Especially the butter and the 3FC Group one !!

TO answer your question, Was I ever a cheerleader ? LOL, Heck no, but i was friends w/ that group and always admired them. I was in the choir (nerdy LOL, but cool nerdy) At least I hope !!

:cheer: Congrats on your weightloss !! :cheer:

You still floor me w/ all the exercise !! :D
