Welcome back Lisa! Hope your weekend was well! :)
|
Hi Ladies
Hope you are doing well on this Tuesday ! I look forward to seeing and hearing more from you and about you !! Erin ~ I read your posts and wanted to say Congrats on another 2 lbs on weightloss !!! Keep up the good work. GO GIRL !!! Katrina ~ I hope your daughter is better and recovering from strep. Hope your exercising and doing well is still on the upside !! Keep it up !! ;) Ingrid ~ Girlie, I must say I am NOT DYING to get on the scales. I dread it, I wish I was excited about weighing in as you were !! GO GIRL !! YAY on staying on track !! :goodscale Sarah ~ I LOVED your post, I was laughing reading about your 4 yo exercising with you. TOo cute and too sweet.. I want to know more about "Transfirmer" if you don't mind. You sound like you're on track and sticking to it !! :bravo: Lori"PinkSh00z" ~ Glad to see you back &Hope to see more postings from you !! :D TO ALL the Ladies ~ You're all such inspiration, you give me motivation. You all encourage and support it's WONDERFUL !!! :thanks: I did have my personal WEIGH IN yesterday and have lost an additional 2 lbs for a total of 13 lbs. I was so excited - just wish I could lose more !! I also went to Target yesterday and purchased Denise Austin's Blast Away The Prounds - Indoor Walk ! - It has 3 15 min walks that = 1 outdoor mile. And then a Stretch !! I am so excited about it & will report back how it is ! :cb: Keep on :hun: Right ~ :tread: :ebike: & :flame: those calories !! :cheer: KEEP IT UP !!!! :cheer: |
Hello Everyone!
Elizabeth asked for more info on my Transfirmer - so here it is! There is a company called The Firm - they are based in Columbia, South Carolina and they make lots of exercise videos. Their plan combines strength training with cardio work, so that you can build muscle and up your metabolism. For more info on what they offer, you can go to firmdirect. com to read about it. However, I bought my Transfirmer set from QVC because it was cheaper there. The set comes with 2 steps, and 4 videos, and an eating plan. I'm not using the eating plan, because I'm following WW right now. There is also a calendar that shows which rotation to use the videos in. They promise reults in 10 workouts! I just did my second workout, so I'll keep you guys posted on if there are any scale or measurement changes after the 10 workouts!! You can also find deals on ebay sometimes, and they have an older set that came with a "fanny lifter" instead of The Transfirmer. Everyone chime in - what exercise are you doing? Home videos? If so, which ones? Gym? If so, cardio, strength or both? Walking? Running? |
This will be short - sorry Ladies! Work is CRAZEEE today!
Sarah - what happens after workout rotation #10 - do you start all over at #1 again? I might have to look into this Transfirmer stuff.... I am behind on my workouts thanks to a lazy Sunday and 2 seperate friends with their own crisis, so tonight is when I try to make up for it. :carrot: |
Hi again Ladies :D
Sarah - Thanks SO much for info on the Transfirmer workout !! IT sounds like a great program. I am going to be looking into it !! I too am curious though what happens after 10 workouts, if you start over or not ? Hmm....keep us posted :carrot: To answer your question, I purchased Denise Austin's Blast Away The Prounds - Indoor Walk !- It has 3 different walks that are 15 mins long, and each equals 1 outdoor mile. Then it has a stretch workout too. All of the walks are different too. I am excited about using it tonight !! Diva ~ Good to see you and hear from you again !! Hope you're having a good day. I feel ya about having that nice lazy day, and then getting SLAMMED at work. Hope it gets better !! :dizzy: Lisa ~ Good to see you and glad tohear you enjoyed a nice 3 day weekend !! How goes the diet and exercise ?! Keep us posted !! :cb: :carrot: Looking forward to hearing more ~ I am REAL Curious about WEIGH IN's and an updated post from everyone !! |
hello ladies
Hello ladies, I am now awake enough to let you all know about me. I am a 34 year old mom of an 11 year old boy and a 9 year old girl. I am a diabetic who has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and thyroid problems. I am hoping to lose at least 50 pounds. And it has only just begun. My downfalls are that I work in a bakery. TEMPTATION!:carrot: So far I have done well with my six small meals. The exercise has not panned out yet. I am working on it. I had planned to go roller skating yesterday with my children, but I fell asleep. I pulled a 2 AM shift, normally it is 4AM. I also take care of my father-in-law who has Vasculer Dementia. My husband and myself take turns sleeping on the couch to make sure he doesnt wander away during the night. We have alarms on the door, but still!!!! Sleeping pills don't help any, So some nights are really long. My husband is supporting me, which is good. So with all of this I am finally taking my doctor's advice and I am going to start taking care of me. The first thing I did for myself was go and get a brand new hairstyle. It is a start, right!?:D I am determined to lose it, with all of your help. I have only been on here a few days, but I so look forward to checking in! All of you have already been an inspiration and help. Hope everyone has a good day! Catherine |
Me again!
Hi again,
Well, I'm doing pretty well with diet and exercise. I just did 11.3 miles at the gym today. I'm working out 3 days this week and on the weekend, so I hope for the best!! I've decided to join WW starting next Saturday. I think it's the best way for me to go!! Take care. Lisa |
Catherine ~ Thanks for the post ALL About you !!
It sounds like you have ALOT going on in your life, and I applaud everything you are doing as a commitment to lose weight ! I don't think I could work in a bakery without eating everything in sight !! Oh how I love anything baked !! I also think your FIL is very lucky to have you helping take care of him. I know that has to be stressful and exhausting at times. What a wonderful person you are to do that ! Welcome to The Diet Journey of 2006 ~ 3FC Style !! It sounds like you're doing well with diet !! And SMART lady to get a new hairstyle !! You go girl !! :carrot: Have a wonderful day & keep us updated ~ Elizabeth |

WOOHOO fon 11.3 miles at the Gym ~ :bravo: :hat:  I would be flat on my face !! I hope you feel so good and energized. I always love how it feels after a REAL good workout all stretched !! :cheer: WOOHOO for WW !! I may end up doing that too !! Keep us posted on your progress ;) ~ Elizabeth |
Hi I am new to 3FC and luv it. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate this site. If I do something wrong don't hesitate LET ME KNOW.
I am currently doing the LA Weightloss System. It holds me accountable. I have been on it 7 days and lost 6lbs 8 oz. I would like to join your group if you don't mind. Thanks! Ciao (formerly chow lol) Wendy |
Very Proud
I hope the Elizabeth reads this post and it makes all of us smile as big as her. I'm Elizabeth's husband, and for those of you who read this, always remember that hot is a state of mind. My wife is beautiful and I love her short, fat, thin, tall, or even 5'3". Weight Loss is a struggle for most of us. Most of us can remember a time in our life we we looked in the mirror and disliked what we saw. I'm committed to this lifestyle change with her, and want to add myself to the group to those of you who need encouragement, a push, or just a shoulder. I love you Beth and I'm sooo proud of you. I don't know what it means, but this Dancing Carrot is making me crack up. :carrot:

I am so glad you're a part of this journey and I look forward to learning more about you !! YAY for 6 lbs 8 oz weightloss !!! :carrot: If we can be of any help, please don't hesitate to ask !! About a year ago I found a LA Weightloss Cookbook at a Used bookstore and purchased it !! That's a great program and they have some great recipes !! Keep up the great work !! ~ Elizabeth |
DIVA -
After the 10th workout, you can vary them however you like. The set comes with 4 dvds, so there is a lot of variety. LOL-and there are tons of Firm videos you can add to your collection. Once I get where I can do these videos straight through with the recommended weights, I think I'll rent a few Firm videos from Netflix and see if the other ones are as great as these. The only bad part about the video? Instructors are the only people on the screen, and their bodies are all amazingly in shape! LOL Sarah |
Catherine - a new haircut is a great start! I used to have to take medicine for high blood pressure. But once I started exercising and started eating better and lost a few pounds, I was able to stop the medicine! Hopefully you'll find the same thing!! I also make sure to eat 2 high potassium foods (like bananas) and drink lots of water each day which also helps keep it down. Your doctor can tell you more. I'm so happy you're taking the plunge with us! This is a great group and you'll have a great time. Girl, you must be a saint. I can't walk by a bakery without giving in......LOL....
Lisa - girl, you are racking up the miles! WAY TO GO!!!! Wendy - what is the LA Weight Loss plan? Do you go low carb? Count calories? Elizabeth & J - what a team you two make! I am proud to be in your group. Thanks for helping us keep motivated! And J, my husband says the same thing, he'd love me however I look. It makes me feel so good to have his love and support, and we all deserve our own CHEERING SECTIONS!! WAHOO!!!! Way to go everyone!!!! Even just reading these posts is taking a step in the right direction!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Katrina - Pizza to me is like chocolate to most women, so I know how you feel there! I don't know if I could have just one piece unless everyone else ate the rest! :s: Katie - what channel is that National Body Challenge show on? I need some more suggestions for groceries - although I've been doing the ground turkey thing for a long time. Miss Lisa! How in the HADES did you do 11.3 miles? That would take me all day! You are amazing! :cp: Erin, I am with you on the wedding-as-motivation issue :drill: . My brother is getting married this year and my family all lives in Ohio (except for my Dad), so I am anxious to stick to this and WOW them all when I see them again in September. The bad thing is that I have to get fitted for my dress next month, so HOPEFULLY :crossed: I will have to get it altered at least once before the wedding. The look on their faces will make me SO happy! Hi Catherine! Just from your first posts, I am admiring the strength you must have. The bakery, your FIL - I hope you can feel peace knowing the good that you do and use that to avoid the food temptations at work! Stay strong girl! Hey Sarah! (I'm running out of colors! LOL) Thanks for the follow up on the DVD's. I am going to do some research on those when I get some time this week! J - I just read your post and it melts my heart to hear you being so supportive and open about Elizabeth - there aren't many men like you out there (although I feel like I have one ;) ) and you are an even bigger reason why this site is the GREATEST!!!! No wonder she seems so happy! :D Hi and :wel3fc: to Wendy!!!! |
Quote:
WOW !!!! :o What an awesome hubby I have indeed !! My sweet wonderful J, you have made my day, my year my life !! I love being married to you !! But now it's my turn to brag on J, he too is making all the right choices, and has lost weight too !! Hey what can I say - we both REALLY want to go on the cruise, and be here to see our children grow up have families, not to mention grow old together !! He's on his way to being a skinny man!! Regardless I love my husband just as he says short, fat, skinny, tall ~ Any way as long as he is a part of me !! But :sssh: don't tell him I said that ;) Thank you J !! |
Welcome to 3FC Wendy!!
Diva - The National Body Challenge comes on the Discovery Health channel. I LOVE that channel - there are so many interesting shows! I hope you find lots of good ideas! |
I got a ticker! WAHOO!!!! I'm so computer illiterate, so I'm very proud.
How is everyone's day going? Well, evening on the east coast!!! |
WOOOOHOOOO Sarah for getting a ticker !! You go girl !! It's 4:52 PM here and 8 minutes til time to go and get Sam and head home to J :carrot:
I also thought I'd include this : http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...jandbparty.jpg This is a picture of Jason & I from December 10th 2005 at his office Christmas party !! I thought you all might like to see who you're typing too :D I'll be checking again later tonight after I put Sam to bed !! Take care EVERYONE and hope to hear from all of you :D  ~ Elizabeth |
Elizabeth & J -
You guys are so beautiful! You absolutely RADIATE positiveness (is that a word???)!!! Thanks for posting the picture!!!! Congratulations again! |
Elizabeth, thank you for all of your support! You just radiate with encouragement for everyone. Once I get my picture scanned you will get to see me. Both you and your husband are very lucky people. DivaLaRed, Thank you for your kind words. Some days I could fall apart. I could scream about everyday at least once. I am glad that I am finding the strength to say I need to take care of me. PS My boss knows I am on a diet. So he is supportive too. Thank God! Sarah,That is all I see water, water and water! I do drink a lipton diet green tea every so often. You can avoid a lot of food at the bakery because you get tired of it, unless of course it is something you really like. It doesn't smell as good in the bakeshop as it does outside, so that is a plus. 11.3 miles One day I will be able to do that too. We all will.:carrot: Catherine |
:cheer: Elizabeth-Thanks so much for getting this group started. I am proud to be a part of it. Good luck on the cruise, that would be a great incentive for me if I wasn't terrified of water. Sounds like you have wonderful support at home. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!:carrot:
Erin-I think we are both in the same boat, trying to loose the weight by July for a wedding. We can do it. Being able to walk into those weddings with our heads held high will be great!:bubbles: Lisa-WOW! 11.3 miles! I can only imagine. That is amazing! I am only up to 1/2 mile with weights on an inclined treadmill. They would have to call 911 if I attempted 11 miles. Great JOB!:cb: Diva-3 miles is terrific, keep up the great job.:D  Sarah-Hi! I got started dieting on WW and lost 17 pounds. I stopped going but continued on my own. It really is a good program. I hope the Firm series is working well for you. You can do it. I love being called a LOSER!:D :cheer: Lori-I used to do the same job as you do, it's hard work and stressful. I think it is great that your husband is doing this with you. I'm sure it helps a lot. My husband does help me cook at home but most of the time it's covered in grease if he makes it! Baby steps is the way to go. Keep up the great work!:cheer: Stacye-It is great that you avoided having the surgery. I know a few people who went through with it and it is painful. I, like you, have tried many things over the years but the old fashioned way is the best.;) JoAnn-Welcome! Talking to others really helps me stay motivated.:dizzy: Redefinition-Hi! I hope the exercise and nutrition program are going well! Sounds like you will have your work cut out for you with that workout. Good luck, you can do it!:flow2: Ingrid-How is your program going? It sounds great!:ebike: Katie-I have watched the National Body Challenge before and it really does make you think about all the unhealthy things you have in the house. I hope you got your shopping done. I have trouble shopping. I get in the produce and fruits, wanting to try something new, and then don't know what goes together or how to cook fresh vegetables. Catherine-I am 36 with an 11 year old girl and a 7 year old son and I work full time. I couldn't imagine having to take care of anything else. You are a SUPER woman. I had the blood pressure and swelling problems before I started loosing weight. Since then all the medicine is gone except for an occatssional fluid pill (when I eat too much pizza). You are doing such a wonderful thing. You are a strong woman, keep up the great job! Wendy-Welcome! We're glad to have you here. I just joined the site on the 13th so I'm new too. Good Luck on the LA program. I know you'll do great!:welcome2: J-You are a great supporter. If more husbands were like you we would probablydo a lot better on our diet. My husband doesn't say a lot about my weight, he loves me either way I guess. He's put up with me for 16 years now! :carrot: I hope I didn't miss anyone, this group is getting big! If I did please let me know. Today has been a pretty good day. I have not overeat, yet! I walked by 1/2 mile and my daughter is cured. No more sick children for a while!:crossed: Hope everyone had a great day. Keep up the great work, all of you!!!!!!! |
Winding down...........
Good evening Ladies......
I wanted to ask if any of you are keeping a jornal on the Journals page of 3FC?? I started one, but it is hard to make entries during the work day! I am doing good to keep up with you guys here in the threads! I made a giant chef salad tonight that should last me the next couple days, so I am happy about that. When the BF is off the road, he cooks, so when he is gone, I am ALL about convenience and quick fixes! LOL :o Elizabeth and Jason, that picture DOES scream happiness and I am so glad to see two people working as a team, not only in marriage but in the fight to be fit and healthy!!! P.S. Someone mentioned being excited about seeing weigh-ins and progress and I wanted to let you all know that I am NOT stepping on that #$@&*! scale until my midpoint of St Patty's day! The scale is too de-motivating for me and I am choosing to use my clothes as a measurement for a while instead! :dunno: |
Wow, thank you so much for inviting me to this group ! You seem like you are going to be an awesome supporter/motivator. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I'm new
I'm extremely new here so I hope I'm posting this correctly. I'm also extremely new to restarting my diet. Tomorrow will be my first day back. I haven't had a chance to read all the posts cause I don't get much time to myself but I would like to be apart of this group so I can have a little encouragement from people who understand. Even when other people say something to compliment how well I've done in the past it doesn't really sound genuine. It sounds like they're saying it just to have something to say. I might not get to visit often but it's nice to have somewhere to turn when I need a pick me up. My weight gain actually started with an illness but after wards it progressed with 3 pregnancies and inability to control my eating. I have 3 small children 6 months, 2 1/2 years and 4 years old so you would think I get plenty of exercise but obviously not enough. I currently weight 195. I would like to be able to get back down to 130 but I'll settle for enough to be able to wear my wedding rings again which was about 145. They haven't fit in over 4 years. My anniversary is in 4 months so I'm hoping to have made tramendous headway. Everyone keeps telling me to set a goal but I know if I set a specific goal but for some reason don't make it I'll get discouraged and fall behind so I would prefer to just do my best and look noticably thinner by then. Which is why I didn't make a New Years resolution to lose weight cause I never keep my resolutions. My self esteem has suffered tramendously. I don't like going into public, I hate having pictures taken, but it actually hurts to look through all my pictures of my boys and not have any of me with them. I'm surrounded by skinny people, and skinny people just can't seem to understand what over weight people are going through. None of my boys sleep well so I'm up at least 4 times a night which makes it even more difficult because I feel as though I've been up for 2 days so I'm hungry and should be aloud more food. I have to stop myself from grabbing snacks in the middle of the night. I feel like I've written a book so I'm gonna go for now and I'll be back when I get a chance.

Hi All,

But like I told you we have that big scale at work.:goodscale So it made me feel good when I saw that I had lost weight. Now just to get to the exercise. :drill: Then I would be doing really good. I am going to the store tomorrow and find something to work out to. Probably get some small weights too. Can't wait until the program at work where they will give an exercise ball and show me ways to use it. Well, I am going to go! Probably check in later. It seems I cannot get enough of all of you!!!:balloons: Catherine |

Hey everyone!
Just checkin in on "hump day". This week has been pretty good, but I seem to always go over my 1400 calorie limit! Happier news - I was able to do my entire 45 minute TaeBo tape last night without pausing the tape! :carrot: (Yes! I've been dying to use that carrot!) I LOVE TaeBo! It just gives me that wonderful burn feeling! How is everyone else's week going? :D |
Does anyone have any ideas for some low carb snacks? I have been using the fitday.com to track what I am eating and it's way too many carbs. Everything I eat seems to be carbs even though it's low fat or fat free. Hope everyone is having a great day.
|
Katie Bug - which Tae Bo are you using???? I just got the Boot Camp one, but haven't been able to use it yet.

I'm new and want to be improved
Hi there,
I am new here and I need some support for the last time I fail and my first time succeeding. I've always been a thick person, but very athletic. After I stopped playing soccer the weight started packing on. I lost 30 pounds when I was 20 on WW (I am now 26) but I was not ready to accept that this was a life long commitment and I was not losing weight fast enough. So, I gave up, gained the weight back, and here I am again. I started in November, gave up in December and I am now 7 pounds lighter than when I started. I want to lose at least 50 pounds, and that number is so scary. I am trying to take it day by day, and I keep telling myself "it's just food," but I know that it's not just food...it's habitual, emotional, bordom, happiness and the way I grew up. I've been working out 5 times a week, but being that I am still pretty athletic already I find that my workouts need to be much harder to see te results that I had easily gotten in the past. It's a daily struggle to stay on track but I have been doing pretty good. My scale says I've gained two pounds, and it's really irritating me...trying to look at the big picture. I am looking forward to supporting and getting support for my L....O.......N.......G.. road ahead. Oh, and how the heck do I attach my weight tracker??? |
Ugh ... I'm so far behind! :dizzy: Sorry I haven't posted in a few days ... things have just been a tad busy ... I promise to be better with posting the rest of the week!
Well, I have some reading to do ... I'll be back in just a bit to do some personals ... before I go :welcome: to any newbies I've missed - you're gonna love this group ... they're AWESOME! |
Hi Infrogwetrust,:wel3fc:
