Hey everyone, thanks for all your support with my weird weight gain last week. Unfortunately, those ounces that I put on set me on a binge because I was mad at myself for thinking I didn't try hard enough, so from last Tuesday to yesterday night, I was a human cow. I didn't even excersize :( and I used to do a mile minimum every single day. I'm back on track today, though, but I don't think I will be able to reach my Valentines Day goal :( but I am going to try. Maybe I should get rid of this diet dr. pepper and drink some water instead! I hope that all of you guys out there are doing much better than me over here in the fabulous oc, jk, it's not all that great. I will try and get a pic on here for all of you, but I am not feeling like putting a picture of myself on here when I am feeling like a moose, so maybe some other time. ;)
ttyl later girls! love, jen |
Hi!
Hi guys,
I'm so glad this week is almost over. I'm so ready for the weekend!! I hope everyone is doing well and don't let anything get you down. Even even you gain some weight or eat too much one day, just start again the next day!! I've had alot of ups and downs, believe me, but I think that the most important part is sticking to it!!! :carrot: (I love this little carrot guy, too!!). Hang in there. Together we can do it!! (Oh man, I just sounded like that weird ponytailed guy on the treadmill thing - Tony Little!!). LOL! Take care. Lisa |
Room for more??
Hi ladies. I started WW flex points (on my own) just a few days after your thread started. I was posting on another thread but it seems to have dwindled to just a few of us and I've asked the others to join this thread as well. There's strength in numbers!
I'm 38, married with DS 11, DD 9. I work full time and don't have many hobbies that don't involve food or relaxing :o My goal is to lose about 50 lbs by August when we go to Ireland to visit DH family. I would also love to visit Italy sometime soon and want to do it thin! DH is doing the diet with me so that's a big help. I really love the accountability of posting my menus here and receiving and giving support  I'll try to read some of the old posts to familiarize myself with each of you. My goal this month is to start some type of exercise. I have a pilates machine which helps my back/hip problem (when I use it) but I think I need some cardio type activity to give me more energy and burn fat. Any ideas? I don't want to go to a gym particularly as I already spend too many hours away from home. Wed Menu: B: cereal w/ blueberries, L: Lean Cuisine & a few shrimp cocktail S: rice cake D: spaghetti & 2 pieces of italian bread (thin cut). Points: 24 Water: 48 oz. Vitamins: none Exercise: none I'll write again later this afternoon after I get a chance to read the posts from the last week or so. Maureen |
Hi Maureen - for cardio work, I love The Firm and Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds. : ) WELCOME TO OUR GROUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sarah |
Welcome Maureen! I second the Walk Away The Pounds dvd for cardio. There are many different levels of intensity in her dvd's...so just look around for what you'd like. None of them are complicated though! It's so nice your DH is doing this with you. BTW - How lovely that you have a trip to Ireland planned! You can easily get to your goal by then! I have a dream of going to Italy also. And not stand out as a fat American.
OK, I'm officially addicted to exercise now. While my girls were sick I was doing dvd's at home and I've continued that...inaddition to getting back into the gym now! So I think I should up my February exercise goal ticker. We'll see. I don't know if I can keep this intensity up. But for now it's fun! DAY 2 WITH NO REFINED SUGAR!!!!! WOO-HOO!!! Hope everyone is doing well! Almost Superbowl weekend--I know I'll have some food challenges then. |
Friday!!!
Hello ladies, thanks for the welcome. :)
B: cereal w/blueberries, tea L: Lean Cuisine, grapes, clementine D: turkey sandwich S: dry cheerios Points: 22 Water: 48 oz., Vitamins: No Exercise: 15 min DDR w/ kids Nori: that chicken recipe looks great, thanks for posting, your exercise will hopefully inspire me to get moving this week. Sarah: Congrats on making it to Onederland!!:goodscale I hope to join you by the end of March! Katie: Wow 9 lbs. is super!! Ashley: I sympathize with your renovations, I just went through the same thing last year. We actually bought a camper for the backyard to live in through the winter. I coudn't wait to sell it when the house was done! I'm thinking about buying Blast Away the Pounds. ejb180: What is BL? I see that listed and assume it's a DVD???? Donna: congrats on the smaller pants, way to go with the exercise Serena: congrats on the 4 lbs. Hellykittyfan: I'm doing WW on my own and don't have all the info, I may have some questions for you! downonthefarm: hang tough, I found that after 2 1/2 weeks it's getting easier, each day is a new start for all of us. jamamom & jen1121 hello! Jen: we're very close in statistics, maybe you should make yourself a new goal for February, there's nothing wrong with modifying your goals, just make it feasible from today, it's too hard and discouraging to try to catch up on an old goal. It's the longrun that matters. Sorry for the super long post but I wanted to say hi to everyone. I only read back the last two pages so I hope I didn't miss anyone. I look forward to learning from and supporting each other. I post my weight on Mondays, here's to a good weekend! :hat: |
Morning everyone
I'm doing great this month...I'm eating really good and for the first 2 days of Feb I've done 120 minutes of exercise and so far today I've done 30 min...I've also started adding in crunches this week also. Hope everyone is doing great...chat at you all after work |
MoNew - BL is the Biggest Loser exercise dvd. : )

Goals
HI everyone, sounds like we're all doing great. I went back on WW full force last friday and I've already lost 7 pounds. Yippy for me. :carrot: :cb: Anyway, I know it was just the first week and not likely to get extreme results like that in the future but I was actually surprised at that much. Well, I've noticed everyone has goals that they try to meet but as for me, I just have an ultimate goal and that's to weigh about 135 Hopefully this year. I think it's great that you all make goals to meet along the way but I'm the type of person that if I don't meet my goal then I get extremely discouraged and start scarfing food down so I'm just gonna stick with the main goal and hope it doesn't take all year to get there. I think if I stick with it the way I have been this week that I'll be there by August or September. Just in time for those weight gaining holidays.:dizzy: :fr:  :turkey: :hohoho: :newyear:
Anyway, maybe if I stick with it that long then the holidays won't be as difficult for me as in the past. http://www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tra...6/135/189/.png |
Exercise Videos
I'll try to get to the store this weekend and pick up either BL or WATP. There seems to be a lot of WATP DVD's anyone have a recommendation for which one I should buy? Should I be ambitous and buy the one that has all 3 workouts! :chin:
Did anyone read the message when you first get on the site? They're putting the website onto a new server sometime after midnight so the site might disappear for anywhere from a few hours to a day or two depending on how often your internet provider refreshes....something like that? I love this site, hopefully it won't be long. |
Serena: Congrats on the 7 lbs!!!!!
|
Maureen - I only have the WATP 3 mile express. It's great - First 2 miles are many different steps, kicks, knee lifts...and in the 3rd mile you continue wlaking fast while adding in a stretchy band for resistance training. I'm thinking to get the WATP for abs and maybe the WATP 2 mile Walk&Jog. The BL is more intense. I've had to back down on the lunges for a bit. They just irritate my knees, no matter how careful I am to keep my knees over my ankles. I can do them a cople times a week and be ok. BL has a good 20 minute weight/toning session.
Hopefully the site will not be down for long. Serena - that's great loss!! As far as goals, we all do what works for us!! It just seems more attainable when I have smaller goals. It's not any different. I know that. Heck, I haven't met any of my goals yet...except for sticking to plan. We'll get there. I'm scared to set my Onderland goal for July because I think that's pushing it. My birthday in July 15th and I'd love to be under 200. 3 DAYS WITH NO REFINED SUGAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Donna - way to go on your workouts!!! I'm also kickin' it up this month. Happy Friday everyone. Keep up the good work. |
Got room for one more?
Hello All~
I would love to join the group here if that's alright? I could use all the support I can get. :) I'm Danielle, 36 and married. I'm a SAHM of 3-ds13,dd11,dd9. I started my journey at the beginning of this year but only got real serious about it 2 weeks ago. When I wasn't losing I had to step back and assess(sp?) what it is I really wanted. Was I going to really do this and be fit and healthy by the end of the year, or was I going to mess around and come Xmas time wish that I had done the work and be heavier than before? I decided that I wanted the first option. I've lost about 9 pounds so far and have been doing really well with exercise. I do the Biggest Loser DVD and absolutely love it. On top of that I also ride my bike 6x a week. I have always claimed I hated exercise, but for some reason I am so loving it this time! Go figure! Anyways, enough about me. I look forward to getting to know all you girls here. I think this is what I need, some laughs, friendship, and some support! Have a great weekend all! |
WELCOME DANIELLE! I'm sure you'll find plenty of support here. I know you can reach your goal!! :D Support really does make a difference, I think.
School has been extremely stressful this week.. and unfortunately I ate a LOT of junk food. I had almost zero time to work out unless I wanted to stay up until the wee hours of the morning finishing my work. I still think I managed to lose some weight.. maybe it was just water weight since last week was TOM. Tomorrow's weigh in will tell! Hopefully, next week will be a lot better and I will remain faithful to my exercise plan. I'm gonna work on getting my pictures up on here.. Maybe I'll do it while I'm waiting for the site to be back up! Hope everyone's well! Oh yeah.. WELCOME to all the other newbies! |
how are y'all????
:welcome2: to all of the newbies!!! Well, I hope everyone is doing well! I just made some awesome grilled veggies on my George Foreman! I used the new Mrs. Dash 10 minute marinade. LEMON HERB PEPPERCORN! I marinaded green peppers, squash, zucchini and portebello mushrooms. They were great! I did not like the chicken in it but oh well. :chin: I have been trying new marinades. To add some flavor. Have not tried the ones in the Foreman cookbook yet, though. Does anybody have any good marinades for poultry and veggies? Well, I have decided that I like to do squat/kicks a lot! I do them everyday if I do nothing else! I have kept up with my crunches too! Katie, you can get away from the junk food! I know you can! Desertdreamer,:ebike:Way to Go Girl! Nori, At least you are doing the lunges! :dancer: Serena, Great job!;) Hope we can all say that we have lost that soon! Djpebbles CRUNCHES, CRUNCHES, CRUNCHES !!!:carrot: Maureen , where in New England are you from? I grew up in CT. Well, I am sure I missed a few people! Hope everyone is well and keep up the good work! catherine |
Good evening ladies:
I went to Target right after work and bought Blast Away the Pounds with Denise Austin. I did the first mile and DD did the first two miles. The DVD was pretty good but doing it with DD was a bit of a challenge not to mention the dog that kept getting in my way. :tantrum: Have a great weekend. Boy I started this post hours ago and just remembered before bed that I never hit submit! We're not into football so Sunday shouldn't be too bad. Everyone watch their football snacks! |
Catherine:
I grew up in East Haven CT but now I live in Guilford CT. What town did you grow up in? |
Back online
Hey eveyrone and welcome to all the new ones. I have been doing very well and I think I am on track with the exercise. I got the full 30 minutes in yesterday and have have been getting up early during the week to get it in during the end of the week so I hope I can keep it.
I got the scale and it seems the old one was a bit off about 7 pounds so I am not too disappointed. Calories have been in control and I got the George Foreman grill today to help with some quick meals. I also gave up all sodas (even diet) a big weakness I know it effects me negatively and I was spending way too much money on sodas. If it is not water I am drinking iced tea, coffee (trying to get on all decaf with equal only) or low fat milk (limit to 1 cup a day). So my goals for Feb is to get down to 275. A minimum of 800 minutes of exercise and keep going on the no soda kick. Hope eveyrone has done well - take care. Erin |
Sunday
Hello ladies:
Well, we're back up and running on the new server! I have a turkey in the oven and it smells great! Now if I can just eat it without gravy :( Have a great day. I did 15 minutes of Dance Dance Revolution this morning and hopefully will get a walk in this afternoon. Now to start on my water  Sat menu: B: cereal L: chicken w/ peppers a few ziti and 1/2 piece of bread (Pasta Fair) D: 1 small slice of pizza S: angel food cake w/ strawberries and SF whip cream. Points: 24 Exercise: none but a lot of walking in IKEA (hate the store but DD wanted to go for her good report card). Water: not great Vitamins: no Erin: I'm not big on soda, but I know it's a hard habait to break....great job! My weigh in is tomorrow! :crossed: |
Good afternoon!
Hello everyone! Well, I definately got my workout yesterday! I rollerskated for two hours yesterday! :cb: I even did the Funky Chicken, YMCA, and Laffy Taffy on skates. That all added a few extra movements to what I was doing. My balance is getting a lot better. I skated approx. 10 miles!!!! Yoo-hoo!:carrot: By a chart that I found, I burned approx. 1000 calories. ( that is 8.8 calories per minute for a 180 pound person skating moderately, I did speed up going around there quite a few times though ) This site gives an approx. cal. loss for different activities. http://www.coolnurse.com/calories_burned.htm I have found out that I can get a personal trainer at the gym here on thr university! :wl: I do not have to pay for the use of the facility. Just the trainer. It is actually quite reasonable, too! I just have to get my doctors permission. Which I know I will be able to get. I went to check out a Curves here in town and they had nothing there! It looked kind of depressing. I have my diet down. I would just like some more help with the exercise! Erin, Soda can be the  but you can do it! I broke down after 3 weeks, yesterday and had one. It was not as good as it used to be! I used to drink them all day long! The first few days will be hard but after that you can and will make it!!! I am proud to say I have had 64 ounces of water so far today! Maureen, Best of wishes on your weigh in tomorrow!:goodscale I grew up in Bridgeport and then in Naugatuck during middle and high school. I have family and friends all over the state. The majority of them in the Fairfield area. That is the ones that have not moved away or died unfortunatley. I have not been there since 1992. Well, I am going to have :jeno: later, but it is a South beach diet one with chicken, spinach and garlic on a whole wheat crust. MMMMMM! Talk to all of you later!!!!:twirly: Catherine |
Yay! I can finally post again! I was sooo excited when I weighed in Saturday - 170!!! Down 3 pounds from two weeks ago.. I remember six years ago weighing 170.. so I'm going into uncharted territory!
Later this week, I'm going to be out of town for three days and I have to eat fast food for 2 out of the 3 meals.. The only meal I can make myself is breakfast because I will have a microwave and instant oatmeal :D I'm worried that I'm going to pick something that looks healthy, but really has like tons of calories. Any tips? Catherine - Wow! That sounds like an excellent workout you had! Maureen - DDR is my favorite form of exercise. I think it's really fun! Erin - It sounds like you have a great plan. I know you can do it! |
hey guys... does anyone know the nutrition facts for ezekiel cinnamon raisin bread? i threw away the package and i cant find it anywhere on the internet.. Help!!
|
Hi all!
Erin - Way to go on giving up sodas.:high: I haven't been able to do that yet. Once I get this NO sugar thing down, that will be my next step! I don't drink lots if it - but I know it's just totally empty stuff. What kind of scale did you get? Katie - Congrats on 170!!! Must feel great!! Do you have Wendy's where you'll be? I really like their chili - it's yummy and balanced: small = 220 calories/6g fat and large = 330 calories/9g fat. I usually do not like fast food salads. The lettuce tastes funny to me. Catherine - You go!! That's such a good workout!!:carrot: Maureen - I weigh in on Mondays too - keeps me accountable for my weekends, which is where I usually have had the most problems. I have been "refined sugar" free for 5 days now!!!:carrot: Take care everyone! BBL... |

thanks so much Sweet Pea!!! this bread is so good, and it doesnt have flour in it... weird huh?
|
oh no, did it again
Hey everyone.
I messed up. When I go grocery shopping I'm not even tempted to buy junk food but if it's in front of me I can't say no. My husband went shopping today and bought brownie mix made it as soon as he got home. Of course I ate 2 pieces. They were small pieces but still not small enough and he was like "I bought it cause I thought you had learned to control yourself" Anyway, I haven't had time to get on the eliptical today so of course I'm feeling twice as bad about eating it. Oh well, I still have time to get on track. |
OK, that's cruel that he said he did it for that reason. Sure we all need to learn - but a little help is great. We are all going to eat brownies again. Probably. 2 isn't all that bad to be honest! Move on.
P.S. Does your DH want you to be healthy and lose weight? Sometimes spouses resists it for various reasons. |
serena - sorry about the hubby. ALl I can say is talk to him. I told my dh I was sick of the rabbit food jokes. He looked at me said sorry, but I was doing well (one of the few positive comments he has made during my journey).
Not many in my family are supportive, but I figured it is a life change for everyone and it will come when they are comfortable. Remember you are doing well, keep going!! |
Monday
Hello everyone, well we weighed in today and I lost 2 lbs and DH lost 3. :carrot: He's much better at drinking his water than I am, I'll try harder this week. I'll try to be more consistent with some exercise also.
Sunday menu: B: cereal L: none because I was shopping :o D: turkey w/ FF gravy & mash potatoes, cranberry S: angelfood cake w/ strawberries Points: 20 Water: not much Exercise: 15 min. DDR Vitamins: no Serena, sorry about DH comment, it sounds like a comment of someone who's jealous  Katie Bug: congrats on the 3 lb loss!! :cheer: Good luck on eating out this week. One of my sisters is having pizza and cake for her son's birthday Tuesday night, I'm trying to decide whether to have 1 slice of each and count the points or whether to bring a 6" subway sub and try to pass on the cake. I don't know how my willpower will be. If it's homemade cake I'll probably cave in, it's its store bought I can maybe say no :?: Catherine way to go on the rollerskating! I never was very good at it although I bought a skecher pair on eBay not long ago thinking I would try it again...hasn't happened yet. I'm only about 30 minutes from Bridgeport! I used a light balsamic vinagrette to marinate my veggies for a wrap. I'm having them again this week, I can't wait! I cleaned all candy out of my panty yesterday and am putting it in the candy dish in the conference room. I think I'll make a list of all the projects that need to be done in the house and try to tackle one each night. This will hopefully get me moving and keep my mind off food a little bit ;) Does anyone know how to sew? I bought a duvet for my bed and bought an extra one to try and make curtains out of. I have extremely limited sewing skills and had to have someone thread the bobbin when I sewed something years ago. I wanted any suggestions before I take a scissor to the new duvey  Have a great day everyone :coffee: |
LOL!!! I meant to say "pantry"!!
|
The new avatar is from my last visit to Ireland when I had lost weight on Atkins almost 3 years ago, it's my goal to get back to that weight by the time we go back to Ireland this summer. :crossed:

Case of the Mondays
Hi everyone,
Well I weighed in this weekend and I'm down another 2 pounds, which brings my total weight loss to 6.1 pounds (and counting). I'm trying real hard to keep track of my points and write everything down, still gets hard sometimes and I want to eat so much candy, but I don't!! Hope all are doing well. Take care. Lisa :carrot: |
I am stuck at 199. It's kind of discouraging. Anyone have any ideas to help blast me to 195? My goal was 197 by Valentines Day, and 194 by the end of the month. I'm a slow loser. Any suggestions are welcome! What works for you?
|
Ok, I jsut started to post and now I hear baby awake. Gotta go get her.
Real quick, Maureen. Did they have sheet sets in the same material/matching material that your new duvet covers came in? Sheets would be ALOT easier to turn into curtains. What kind of top do you want - pocket, button, tab? If you used a sheet and just wanted a normal simple rod pocket curtain all you'd have to do turn over the top hem to fit the width of your rod and then hem it to the length you wanted. Maybe DIY (do it yourself) has info for making them. I'll bbl... |
Hey!
Hi guys,
Marine - I know what you mean about being stuck. I was there for about 3 months with working out and for some reason the weight wasn't going anywhere. I would suggest switching your exercise routine - maybe try to work out more or something like that. Also, try to write down exactly what you're eating. It helps me alot because that why I'm accountable and if I mess up, then I know exactly what I did wrong. Good luck!!!! Lisa :carrot: |
Two more!!
Hello everyone! Well, I did it I lost two more pounds. That little bit sounds so little but then again it is a big step in the right direction!!! Sarah, you CAN and WILL make your goal for Valentine's day! I have confidence in you! Do you live down on the bay? In military country as I call it or somewhere else in Va? Nori, You sound like you sew! Would like to come visit me and help me out, too! LOL Lisa and Maureen, LOTS of Luck and WILLPOWER to lose two pounds again next week! Great job! We can do it!!!!!! Erin, Great job sticking up for yourself!!!! I hope everyone else out there is doing well! Elizabeth, where are you ? LOL Talk to all of you later, Catherine:flow2: |
Sarah - I think you just have to stick with it. AND I wouldn't exactly call you a SLOW LOSER!!! You've lost quite quickly actually and sometimes I think that includes water weight. Our bodies have to reset. The only thing I'd suggest is kicking up the exercise - or changing exercise routines. Don't eat too little. I've heard people actually say if they up theri calories for a couple days and then drop back down it kicks in again. Last time I lost weight I remember I'd sometimes go for a week without a change on the scale and then the next week lose 5-6. It was like I lost in chunks. I think hormones/water play a big part.
BTW Sarah - I posted a ? to you on the exercise forum after your post about Juggly Free Abs dvd. Did you get it as part of the whole Firm set? It's unavailable to individual sale until afte April 6th. I went ahead and pre-ordered it from Amazon. DH wants to do it too. Catherine - congrats on 2 more pounds! Have you been skating again? I've been pretty consistant so far with weight loss. This is the first time I haven't seen a HUGE drop the first couple weeks. I've lost 14 pounds since January 5th and it's been pretty even - 2-3 pounds each week. |
Hi Everyone,
I've been MIA yet again But I have been sticking to my food and exercise plan. and at my Sat weigh in I was down another 2 pounds which put my Jan total loss at 19 lbs so I am pretty happy about that. I also increased the tension on my elliptical machine Yikes I felt like I was back at square one. It was a lot harder to get my mileage up But I have gone from having to talk myself into exercise to just assuming that I am going to do it ...huge deal for me. Yesterday was fantastic weather so I traded an hour on the elliptical for an hour and forty minute walk in the sunshine. Everyone have a super Monday!! Lori |
Got the workout in this morning and I ma planning out our meals today. I love days when I need to add things since I am below 1000 calories; my min for a daily intake is 1400 right now.
nighthawk - wtg on the 19 lost for Jan!! |
