Hi gang!

Good news! I managed to lose 3 pounds last week. I am still shocked by it.
I reinstated my memebership at Jenny Craig. I really really needed something and someone to keep me super accountable. The structure has been good for me since I seem to not be able to control myself with food. Also, I think my med change has finally been fixed and I am feeling pretty darn good.
Hoping for another great WI come next Monday, I'm definitely not "starving" or being deprived on this plan that's for sure. The food is so great, even better than I remembered. So glad that I made the decision to do this again.
I'm giving it 3 months and seeing how I do. If I don't have the results I want then I will quit and go on my own, but I don't really think it'll come to that. I feel too darn good!

Nori, your family is gorgeous! Happy b-day to your little one. They grow so fast don't they? Careful, before ya know it, they'll be in middle school! I am still shocked most days when I see my son and realize he's 13! Makes my heart hurt sometimes. Hope the birthday party was alot of fun!

Mo, thanks for missing me lady. You seem to be doing great, keep it up!
You are a brave soul for posting your menu's on here, don't think i could do it.
Get on that bike lady, your bod will thank ya for it! I had to giggle when you said you didn't want the neighbors to see you take a 5 min. ride. That is so me!

Sarah, sounds like things are shaping up nicely for your move. I really hope everything goes as planned and there are no glitches along the way. So frustrating when you're trying to move state to state and with little ones!
As usual, you're doing fabulous, so inspiring.

Elizabeth, hey sweetie girl. I am glad that you're here again. Hopefully things will remain calm for awhile so you can share in the fun here. Your weight loss so far is awesome!!! Great job. I really like WW, I think it's a really great program. I unfortunately am like a wild woman when it comes to being left on my own with food so it was a disaster for me when I did it. Plus, I hated the meeting that was available to me. Only one too that fit in with schedules around this house. I know you will do fantastic!!!
Hope J is feeling better. I am dreading some oral surgery that I have to get done in the coming months. I would love nothing more than to ignore it and pray it will just go away. But we all know that's a big fat lie, huh? LOL
I hate the dentist! Good for him for getting it taking care of.
Keep up the amazing losses lady, it looks great on you!

Well guess I should go do my housework before it gets too warm today. We're headed into 90 degree weather for the rest of the week. So not looking forward to revving up that a/c! $$$$$ But come just a few short weeks won't have a choice when we reach triple digit weather! Oye!

Have a super day ladies! I'll check in with ya'll in a bit. :grouphug:

quick question

:) I just wanted to know if any of you recieve the Jillian Michaels' newsletter? Also has anyone got her new DVD's yet? One is "Shape up the Front" and the other "Shape up the Back". I need the second one! I invited some newbies, I hope we see them here at the site. Be on the look out for them. Talk to all of you later! Catherine:)

racegirl2210 04-12-2006 05:23 PM

hello

Hello to everyone! I am one of the newbies that was invited. I am 25 years old and currently weigh 247 trying not to hit 250. I have a husband and 5 children (11,9,7,5,3) so I am typically very busy. I believe my biggest problem with losing weight is NOT EATING RIGHT. I skip meals and then I am starving by dinner time...NOT GOOD. I could really use some great GRAB AND GO ideas from people. By the way just in case you are wondering the 11, 9, 7 yo kids are my husbands but they live with us..I was not 14 when I had children...THANK GOD!! Anywho...I am usually a very upbeat person who enjoys life but HELLO my CLOTHES DONT FIT....I have worn the same clothes since I was a sophmore in high school (literally) I still have 15/16 pants that I wore in high school....but now they dont zip...I cant stand it. I would like to get down to a healthy weight..but am making a short term goal of 15 lbs. in the first 2 months. I figure it is easier to take off if you think of it as small numbers instead of saying I need to lose about 80 lbs. Realistically my "ideal" weight is 167 but I cant honestly say I remember ever being that small. I am gonna try and hopefully with all of your help I can achieve my goals..I will try my hardest to check in every day and would love some buddies online to talk to I have AIM and Yahoo Messenger...I could also provide my email to anyone who wants to be my MOTIVATOR....just remember some days are really bad...and Tomorrow is a brand new day.[/CODE]

Thanks for the welcome!! :)

Mary

marinemommyof2 04-12-2006 06:25 PM

Welcome back, Danielle, and Welcome Mary!!!!!!!!

Danielle - I did Jenny Craig before I got married. I liked the program, it just got too expensive. Keep us posted on it!

Mary, LOL-thanks for clearing up the ages of your kids and everything! LOL

My name is Sarah. I have 4 and 1 year old boys. My husband is an active duty Marine, and we're in California, but moving this summer to South Carolina! You can see from my ticker how heavy I was when I started this journey. It's taken me a long time to lose those pounds, but it's been worth it! You've got a great idea with breaking it up into smaller goals.

Again, welcome!

Nori71 04-12-2006 06:27 PM

:carrot: YIPPEE, we have newbies! Welcome! This is a great group! :carrot:

Catherine - I don't really know anything about Jillian. I think Sarah has her book. Thanks for inviting newbies!

Welcome Mary! He-he - so funny that you clarify the whole kids/age thing! Right away as I was reading your "bio" and saw your children's ages, I had to backtrack and figure out how old you were when you started!:D :D Anyways, my hat's off to you big time. I'm so busy with my 2 and 1 year old that sometimes just getting to the bathroom is an amazing thing! Let alone a shower! And thank God for marinades and BBQ's!

Mo - that's so funny about Washington State being all "green" in your mind! The Western side on the mountains is, but over here in Eastern WA, it's very dry. And HOT in the summertime. I cannot wait. Although, we will be moving back over to Seattle sometime this summer. DH will be done with nursing school. Hey, are you SUPER hungry when you get home from work and that starts the problems? Maybe if you eat a snack at 4pm it'd help? I dunno? Regarding American Idol - I've missed the last 2 weeks of it now and feel "lost"!

Sarah - I love the new avatar pic of Will on his 1st bd!! How fun! Melina was fussy all day yesterday, I had to wake her up at dinner time, she was still fussy, cried as soon as we started singing Happy Birthday to her, hated her cake ... BUT LOVED opening the presents!! That's my girl! Loving the gifts!!:D

Elizabeth - congrats on 2 more pounds gone!! Melina nd Sam are pretty close in age. How big is Sam now? Melina just had her 1 year physical this morning and she is 19lbs 5 oz and 29.5 inches. Big head too at 18 inches! I cannot believe that this is my little colicky, failure-to-thrive baby from a few months ago! Hope J recovers quickly and easily!

Danielle - Howdy there! So happy that you are finding a plan that works for you. THat's what it's all about. Woo-hoo on 3 pounds gone already too!:carrot: 90 degrees already? I'm jealous! Where do you live again? Although, I'm happy to have a couple more months before I'm forced to exercise outdoors in tank tops!:o

Well, I've done a short walk so far today and about 20 minutes of abs, but this is a 60 minute minimum exercise day, so when Melina wakes up (might be awhile since she had 4 shots this morning:( ) i'm going to take them out again in the double stroller. Check in later!

racegirl2210 04-13-2006 10:36 AM

hmmmm

Well
Here I am again...I started the day out good....but then my hubby decided he wanted to argue...and being upset always makes me wanna grab a bag of cookies or something....THANK GOD there arent any in the house right now. I started my day with a bowl of Special K. Yummmm it was the berry burst kind. I enjoyed it. So now I am here with my 5 children for the day (because they are on Spring Break) I am gonna try to squeeze in about 60 min of excercise today outside of chasing them around. Today is definitely going to be a hard/bad day but I am going to post on here and hopefully it will make me feel better.

Thanks to those who made me feel welcome...I appreciate your support. :O)

Nori71 04-13-2006 11:23 AM

Good Morning, Mary. Sorry about the fight. I have to fight urges to eat when I'm anxious too. Hope you have a good day with all your kiddos. Is the weather good? I hate not getting out everyday.

Hope Thursday is going good for everyone! My day is just getting started. 1 of my girls is up - the other is sleeping, so I already got a shower! Yippee!

racegirl2210 04-13-2006 12:32 PM

Well things are looking up..and the day is not even half over. My husband came home sick from work...ugh...and apologized. It is a beautiful day outside so I took my dog for a walk...about 60 min worth of walking..and will probably go for another one later in the day with the kiddos & the wagon. I am feeling better...and really feeling good that I resisted the urge to snack.

:) Have a great day

Mary

Thursday

Wow, I missed posting one day and I missed tons!

First, Welcome Mary!! Glad you decided to join the group, I hope Catherine only told you good things about us! ;) Wow, 5 kids, God Bless You! I have to confess, like Nori, I was doing the math too! I'm glad your day turned around and ended on a good note. About the clothes...this is weird but when I have on clothes that feel tight, I tend to eat more, when my clothes are lose, I "feel" thinner and tend to eat less. I know, I'm weird!

Nori: Way to go on the exercise and hope your baby had a great birthday.

Sarah: Either I didn't know or forgot you lived in California. My sister lives in Gardena (south L.A.) are you anywhere near there?

Catherine: thanks for bringing us new blood! I hope things are getting better with you, are your kids on spring break? Have you gone rollerskating lately? I bought a mountain bike the other day for DS and it's a little big for him, I'm thinking of trying it out if my A$$ can stand it. It needs air in the tires though first.

Danielle: Congrats on the 3 lbs!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: Good luck on Jenny Craig, the food looks good on TV when Kirstie Alley is eating it!

Elizabeth: Congrats on the 2.2 lbs!! It sounds like WW is doing well for you! I don't know your DH but tell him I said hello too!

My DH is still doing well even though I took his ticker off. He's at 196 so that's 33 lbs for him! He tried on suit pants last night that he's been wanting to get into and they were even a little loose on him! The bad thing is now he weighs less than me :?: :?: :?:

Confession: B: cereal L: lean cuisine S: 2 oatmeal pies :o D: small bowl of pasta with red sauce S: ice cream cone w/ two scoops :o :o :o
Pts: 40?? Water: 32 oz? Exer: none

After having my period lightly for 10 days, it went away for a day and now I have it pretty heavy again, maybe that's why I ate ice cream last night??? If it doesn't end within a week I'll have to go see the gyno I guess.

Well, have a great day. I have to work tomorrow :( We're going to a Seder dinner Saturday and Easter dinner at mom's Sunday, a very diverse weekend! What's everyone doing?

Maureen

MoNewEngland 04-13-2006 01:41 PM

Hi Stephanie: Glad you decided to jump into our group. Our stories are a little similar. I quit smoking in 1990 and gained about 40 - 50 lbs in about 4 years. I quit smoking when I was trying to get pregnant. I lost about about 30 of the lbs a couple of times but got to an all time high of 217 this January. I also started smoking again in 2004 (I've been keeping to about 5 cigarettes a day Mon-Fri) but I'd like to quit again but am afraid to do it now with dieting. Anyway, nice to have you here.

For Newbies:

I'm 39 married with two kids, boy 11 and girl 9. I live in Connecticut and work full time as a secretary. As you can see from my ticker, my main hobby has been eating!

Welcome, Stephanie!!! SO glad you joined us here. I agree, small goals are the way to go!!

I hear screaming form upstairs...

marinemommyof2 04-13-2006 05:16 PM

Welcome Stephanie!

Mo - we live in the middle of the Mojave Desert. LOL LA is about a 3 hour drive. :)

Nori - glad the birthday went well! LOL Well, at least she liked the presents!! I guess all babies want to take more naps on their 1st birthday! Mine wanted to sleep the whole day away. LOL

Everyone, have an amazing Easter weekend! I probably won't be back on until Monday!!!

racegirl2210 04-14-2006 09:04 AM

well...

Welcome Stephanie- Glad you joined...:)
This is a great group of women. I hope you enjoy it. The thing you said about losing weight and keeping it off hit me like it was myself talking...after I had 2 babies I was the smallest I have ever been a size 12....(I wasnt even a size 12 in high school) but I kept eating how I wanted to and never excercised....and now I am up to almost 250lbs. Being 5'10 most people dont guess that I weigh that much but I know I do and it eats me up inside. We are all trying to do the same thing on this board - LOSE WEIGHT and have FRIENDS that are there for the bad days....

So WELCOME and browse the boards a bit...there is a lot to read....

Today is Friday (my favorite day of the week) and so far so good...
Started my day off with a bowl of special k...(have you guys tried that Vanilla Almond kind- it is wonderful) I am working on making myself eat 3 good meals a day...I have been doing alright. So....I excercised again for about 45 min last night doing a step excercise. I have a question for the people here who have lost weight....
how long does it usually take before you see results (not necessarily on the scale, more in my clothes....) I can live with the scale not moving if I am losing inches. I have heard 4 weeks...is that accurate in your opinions? I am just trying to make short term goals...:^: Makes things easier for me.

Have a great day...

Mary

Nori71 04-14-2006 11:49 AM

Hi Mary - We both have the same amount of weight left to lose! I'm only 5'7, but people NEVER guess I'm as heavy as I am either. Of course they don't see me naked either! It's a mixed blessing in a way. I feel that if I looked fatter (or as fat as I am) I wouldn't have let myself go this far? Oh well, what's done is done and I changing my lifestyle. I haven't tried that cereal. I sounds good though. If I eat cereal it's usually oatmeal or Kashi GoLean. I don't drink milk normally, so oatmeal works great and the Crunch I can eat dry. I think it was really around 3 (to 4) weeks (15-20 lbs.) that I really started noticing a difference. I was wearing 18's but they were tight and by 4 weeks they were loose. I did do my measurments too. It's so inspiring to see just HOW MANY inches you are dropping. Almost better that seeing how many pounds. I think by 4 weeks I'd lost 16 inches and then by 8 weeks another 12. I cannot remember exactly, but I have them logged. I LOVE doing Pilates together with cardio. I see results faster than if I'm just doing cardio/weights alone. Anyways, good luck! You sound like you are right on track and in a good place and time in your life to make a permanent change.

Hello ladies and J! Hope it's a good Friday for everyone.

MoNewEngland 04-14-2006 01:46 PM

Tgif!!!!

Hello ladies:

Boy it stinks to work today. Luckily, my neighbor is off so she's watching the kids for me till DH gets home. I won't post yesterdays menu as I was bad again :( I didn't overeat but ate the wrong stuff. DS got a great report card so I treated him and his friends to dinner :dizzy:

A man came in my office today and saw my Lean Cuisine. He told me that he started doing WW and eats Lean Cuisine quite a bit and walks a lot. He's lost 43 lbs so far! I told him how I've been struggling lately and he gave me a little inspiration I hope.

I haven't bought any Easter candy yet but I'll have to go tonight I guess. My neighbor said she filled the plastic eggs and will hide them in our yards Sunday morning. Maybe I'll get a few little gifts instead of a lot of candy for the Easter baskets.

I don't usually post over the weekends so I'll talk to all you ladies on Monday probably. Have a great holiday!

Maureen

Howdy Ladies!

Good morning ladies! Well, I am going to take the time to post to everyone. Things this week have been a litlle crazy. Not sure if we will be able to keep the FIL in the assisted living. We cannot find help anywhere for the pay. We may be able to get a discounted rate, but that is a long shot. Me and the DH are going to a bunch of stuff with the kids this weekend. We are getting ready to go get some sporting equipment to play baseball with them.

Maureen, hey there lady! Don't worry so much about the food. We all seem to fall back into the habit every once in awhile. I know that I have. I let all of you know what I did. No I have not been roller skating. I need to go! We usually go on Sundays but I am sure that they will be closed this week. I miss going! Good luck on the bike. I understand about the short ride.

Nori, To the amazing woman! You still are so inspirational even when you have a fall back. I love your pics by the way! Do you have a elliptical machine also? I worked up to 7 mins on level 4 that was only my second time on it, the first time was 5 mins. on level 1. I will work up to a full 30 mins. But that 7 mins. killed my butt! I am still sore.

MAry, I am so glad you came over and joined us! You will truly love it here! You are an angel to be a mom to all of those children. I sure do hope your husband knows how lucky he is. Tell him I said so! I am an emotional eater also. I just had a major fall back, I am working on trying to get back in the swing of things myself. But everyone here is great and they don't admonish you they do their best to help you get through it.

Stephanie, Welcome! Wow you exercise a lot. So glad that you found us! Small goals!!! You are on the right track. Wish I could keep with my small goals.

Elizabeth, So glad to hear from you! Tell DH to come visit us too. He is always a joy.

Well ladies, I am off to Play It Again Sports! I will let you know how ouyr baseball excursion goes. Everyone have a great Easter weekend.

Catherine

racegirl2210 04-16-2006 08:28 PM

Well I had dinner at my house today...complete with Turkey, Ham, Sweet Potatoes (with marshmallows), mashed potatoes, noodles, deviled eggs, rolls, lots of pies, green bean casserole....etc...

And guess what..I kept myself in check...I ate some turkey and allowed myself to eat 1/4 of a sweet potatoe no mashed potatoes I had 2 deviled eggs no roll and no noodles...AND BEST OF ALL...I resisted the PIE...!!!

I excercised every day this week for 30-45 min each day....:carrot: I am gonna try to keep doing it every day because I feel it is easier to keep doing it than to quit for a day and then start back up...

Have a good one!

Mary

Nori71 04-17-2006 12:57 PM

Hope you all had a nice Easter. Nothing "special" around here - I didn't even make a special dinner. My Mom is still re-cooping from surgery and wasn't up for anything big anyways, so that was my excuse. Took Livi to some friend's house for an egg hunt though. She had fun! We had ham sandwiches for dinner last night!

Down 3 pounds from last Monday.

Catherine - Sounds like you really like your trainer and time exercising! I don't have an elliptical. But I use on ewhenever I go to the gym. I like it and always start sweating right away. I usually do it for 30 minutes.

Mary - Congrats of staying in control yesterday. I also exercise every day. It's easier to just stay in the routine for me too. I do 1-2 days at low intensity - like just Pilates, some other toning or a 30 min walk. The other days I kick it up and do 1-2 hours.

How's it going Serena, Katie, Maureen, Sarah, Danielle, Stephanie, Elizabeth? Is it getting to be nice weather where you are now? It's beautiful here today. Will go for a hike when DH gets home.

Have a nice day! I'll CBL.

marinemommyof2 04-17-2006 04:12 PM

Nori - how many calories are you eating? I'm so impressed with your 3 pounds in a week loss! I'm really trying to evaluate how many calories I need. I need to get more consistent with my exercise again. Things are just crazy with getting ready to close on our new house (from thousands of miles away) and getting ready for the moves we have coming up. I'm also learning how to quilt, and it's pretty time consuming. :)

Catherine - keep us posted on FIL. I'm hoping the discount or money comes through!

Mary - way to go with your Easter dinner! It takes strength to say no to pie, and to not overindulge on holidays. As for how long before I saw a difference, when I exercise I see the difference in clothing sizes quicker. Like Nori, I was in a tight 18 when I started this journey. Now I'm in a comfortable 14.

Mo - that is inspiring! I need to get back into the habit of bringing my lunch again. Lunching out with the girls from work is really setting me back! It's so hard to make a good choice whenever everyone else orders bad stuff.

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

desertdreamer 04-17-2006 04:45 PM

Happy Monday All!

I hope everyone had a great easter weekend. We had a low key easter and it was nice. Took the kids out to lunch and then had an egg hunt ( or 2, or 3, or 4) for them. My kids are all older so it was fun to hide everything and make it super hard. I think I will cry the year they say they're too old to do this!

Lost another 3 lbs this week! I really did not think I'd lost anything this week. I don't "feel" like I have. Is that weird? I guess maybe because I feel like I'm eating so much & all the time. Feels like all I do is eat all day long! LOL
If I could keep this pace up for a few months I would be so grateful but I'm not gonna hold my breath! I'll just enjoy it for now and just keep praying every week I lose the same.

Mary, you are in some serious motivation lady! Go you!!! Good for you for keeping yourself in check but were still able to completely enjoy your meal. I have major issues with keeping it to a minimum, sorta an all or nothing girl. LOL Be very proud of yourself, you did amazing!

Nori, congrat's on your 3 lbs!!! That's funny about the ham sandwiches, we had turkey ones! LOL We had eaten lunch out so late, that by the time anyone was hungry just sounded good at the time. Hope dd had a great time at her egg hunt! Enjoy your hike with dh tonight!

Sarah, I hope the moving thing isn't too stressful for you. It will be so nice to be in your new place before summer hits. One huge mistake we made when we relocated back to AZ. We moved in July which has about 120 degree heat! LOL Smart, huh? I don't know how you girls that work keep from going just bonkers with the lunches out. I know just a while back working part time I couldn't handle having the cafe next door! LOL

Time to get going here. I swear this weekend never happened, it doesnt feel like it was a weekend anyways! Got absolutely nothing done it seems and now here we are at Monday again. Time flies when you're having fun I guess.
CBL

Nori71 04-17-2006 05:08 PM

Sarah - I normally eat between 1,400-1,900 calories a day - it all depends on how many calories I burn in exercise. In a week I aim for 5-1,000 calorie deficit days and 2-500 calorie deficit days. I track everything in Nutridiary.com. Not sure why I lost 3 pounds this last week - but remember I only lost .5 pound the week before and expected more, so no doubt it's just water flucuations.

Danielle - congrats!! I kwym about not "feeling" the weight loss. Some days I feel heavy and others I feel lighter the moment my feet hit the floor in the morning. Funny how feelings are!

Over on the 100 pound club board someone brought up this site - myheritage.com. It's fun to do the face recognition thingy there!

jamamom 04-17-2006 05:53 PM

another day

Greetings ladies, Congrats to all of you on your weight loss. Unfortunately for me I showed a 12 pound weight gain this morning. Not a good way to start the day or week out. I did take a fluid pill this morning and by lunch even with eating I was down 5 pounds. Pretty bad huh? Emotional eating is awful. Well, we were unable to get the FIL any help and he will be moving back with us this week. Not sure if I will start eatin like crazy, or not eat because I am so depressed. right now I do not feel like eating! My mom says I should go talk to the local congressman. I do not know. Right now I am just at a loss. Work is not going well either. But now with him coming back, I am kind of stuck where I am. I really need some positive things to happen in my life right now. Well, I have to go and make dinner. talk to you later.

Catherine

Nori71 04-17-2006 06:01 PM

Catherine - that's some serious water weight. At least you're peeing it out! I'm so sorry it didn't work out for FIL to stay at the assisted living home. Does he have caretakers other than you and DH? Does he have too many assets to qualify for state care? I know they say constant change is harder on Alzheimers patients, but if he could rotate around, it'd be easier on your family. My fingers are crossed that something good happens in your situation. It's not easy to bear. You'll be in my prayers.

MoNewEngland 04-18-2006 10:49 AM

Tuesday

Hi ladies:

Boy, have I missed you all. I have eaten everything in site that hasn't moved these last few days. I really need to get to the grocery store today to buy good food choices.

Catherine: I hope things work out with your FIL, I'll say a prayer. I gained a lb myself today but won't record it till Monday, hopefully you'll lose your water weight by your next official weigh in. Are you sure your scale is right, I can't believe you could gain 12 lbs???
Nori: Wow, another 3 lbs. you go girl!! You might even inspire me to walk today or at least go grocery shopping!
Danielle: Congrats on your weight loss too, you women will hopefully rub off on me.
Sarah: that's nice that you're taking up quilting, I wish I had the patience and skill. I hope the closing goes smooth.
Mary: Wow, you did great this week, send me some of that spirit!

I made apizza ghaine (ham pie) for Easter and gave most of it away thank goodness! It had 5 different meats, 4 lbs. of cheese and 5 dozen eggs! The last of the pies and cookies were gone last night. On Saturday we went to the Seder and I also ate and drank too much, I didn't eat a lot but I had dessert that I should have passed on.

My complaint paragraph: DH and I had an argument (that's a whole other novel) and I did some stress eating this morning. I still have my period going on 3 weeks now. I finally just called the doctor to see if he'll call me in the prescription to stop it. I also got a reminder call I have a dentist appointment today for a cleaning and a check up (so now I can't bring DD to the store for summer clothes like I promised). I feel and look like crap. My hip is starting to hurt again, my heel spur is starting to hurt again (probably from wearing sandals this week). I really feel I'm in a rut.

Also, two young men hung themselves within the last week in the area that my husband is from in Ireland. There's so much depression back there, it's unbelievable. The one last night was one of his good friend's brothers.

Aren't you glad I wrote to cheer you all up! :dizzy:

Maybe I'll treat myself to a month of tanning. My legs are so white!

Maureen

Today is Tuesday and it seems to be going okay so far...
Started my day with a bowl of special K..I am loving this stuff...:)
and excercised 45 minutes...You guys I swear this board is my motivation. Tomorrow will be one full week excercising and eating right...and I swear I can feel the difference in myself. I have way more energy and I am just happier. I am gonna weigh in on FRIDAYS...cuz then at least if I have a gain it is still my favorite day of the week..:)

I still havent touched pies..GO ME!! I am soooo proud of myself. If you guys only knew how I love SWEETS....

Well just thought I would check in for the day...by the way I am a size 16-18-20 depends on who makes them those 16's are way too tight now though...so I should just leave them out....(although I plan to be in them soon...:) I would love to be a 10-12

Goodbye for now

Mary

Catherine - I pray that your family works something out. It's so unfair that the whole burden is falling on you and your dh. Here is a site that has pretty pictures and nice sayings, and I hope it cheers you up:

www.mayyoubeblessedmovie.com

Nori - good morning! Can the website where you track tell you how many calories you need per day for your weight/height/activity level, etc.? I keep seeing different things, and I'd love to make the real mathematical equation for how I can lose weight. I feel like it would be more precise for me than counting points.

Mo - good luck getting to the grocery! It's hard having a hundred errands to run like that, and remember that we're worth good, wholesome food.

Mary - good vibes to you! Thanks for keeeping us posted! You'll be back in a smaller size before you know it. :)

marinemommyof2 04-18-2006 11:42 AM

Danielle - lol - that desert heat is NO joke! Glad to see you're on the right track and doing so well! Keep up the great work!

Everyone, have a great day!

hello gals!

Good afternoon gals! Well I am down 7 pounds from my weigh in yesterday. My husband says he can see a difference. that makews me feel a litlle better on the weight gain. I am not going to track it, I am going to get back down to what I was. I go to the trainer tomorrow. I am looking forward to it. Of course after that we bring my FIL home. Everyone keeps telling us to put him in Depends. I try to explain to them that he does not pee his pants, he just stands up and pees on the floor. What fun! We could get a bed alarm. But then of course whoever had night duty with him would be up all night. Like I get any sleep as it is. None of his family wants to offer any kind of help. They just send get well cards. If it wasn't for my FIL's brother we would be able to sell the land. He is just a whole another story in himself. My husband called the Sherriffs dept. on him the other day. Did I ever tell you he is a convicted murderer who shot his wife? Has a whole lot of guns in his house but we have no reason yet for the sheriff's dept. to enter his house. The sheriff did say if he acted up he would get a search warrant. Well, anyways it seems everyone is doing well. I will do personals later on this week. After FIL comes back. Hope everyone has a good day!

Hump Day

Hi ladies:

Catherine: boy you have your hands full! Have fun at the trainers today.

I don't want to jinx myself but I'm actually starting to feel that I'm ready to start dieting again. I went grocery shopping last night (after the dentist:( ) and got some frozen dinners and healthy food to start off with. DH asked last night if I could start writing down all our food again like we were doing in the beginning so I printed out our weekly food journals.

After getting my teeth cleaned for a full hour the hygienist said I need another hour appointment to get them up to par! I guess I had more tartar than I thought. I don't have dental insurance so I told them no x-rays and I'd have to come back for another cleaning and to have a filling replaced when I'm done paying for my last two visits!

My lack of exercise is affecting me, I can feel my hip starting to hurt again and it had been so good for so long, now I'm realizing how good I really felt when I was losing and moving. It's easy to forget the pains you had. I need to remember this in hopes of it giving me motivation. A friend of mine said she's going to start walking at 5 a.m. I don't think I could get up that early...I need to do something though. Keep sending your motivation girls. I think I'll go browse through the "Success Stories" for a while.

Check back later. Mo

Catherine - my prayers are with you and your family. What a rough time you're going through. Yay for getting rid of the 7 lbs!!!

Mo - are you feeling your motivation again? I went on a walk last night and it made me feel so good. It was nicer than the gym, and was a great way to put a spring back into things!

Mary - what's new with you?

Nori - where are you???

Danielle? Elizabeth? Katie? Serena? and everyone else I'm missing, come out come out wherever you are!

howdy ladies

Hello ladies! Well, I got to go roller skating today. It was not very busy and I enjoyed myself so much. My legs are still sore form the other day with the trainer. Hopefully, I will not be so sore tomorrow. I am getting close to the end of my training sessions. He is showing me now more of the exercises I could do with the ball. I do not mind doing crunches on them at all. They still work, but they are not as hard to do. I am looking forward to my last three sessions. My time on the elliptical has increased so I am very happy. That was one of my goals when I started with the trainer. Everything else is not so great but I do not really want to go inot it now. I am holding it together though. Hope all of you are well. Have a great week.
Catherine

Hi girls. Sorry to be MIA, this weekend was ultra busy and today more of the same. I don't have alot of time right now to do personals, I'm in the middle of cooking dinner but wanted to come by and share my good news. I had WI today and lost another 2.1 pounds for the week. I was thrilled to see 2lbs gone! Exercise is slow going but I'm trying desperately to be patient with myself. bought a pilates dvd today so we'll see if I can get into that, my sister swears by the stuff. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Hope everyone is well, it's been very quiet here. I was shocked to see no one has hardly been here for a few days! Stay strong ladies, you are worth every step on this journey! :grouphug:

Nori71 04-25-2006 11:10 AM

Hey there - I've been MIA too. It's been soooo beautiful here and I've been ding tons of yardwork, putting in my garden and planting flowers. FUN!!

Danielle - I swear by Pilates also. You actually burn quite a few calories doing it as well - it's hard yet relaxing to me? I love Winsor Pilates system. I don't seem to lose any "faster" doing Pilates, but the inches come off faster since adding it in. Congrats on the weight loss!

My exercise was a little off this past week because I am in a big push to get the yard good. We are having an engagement party in a couple weeks here. One of my sisters got engaged in January. Her fiancee in from Norway and just got all of his paperwork done so he can move here now. Anyways, after I get the yard done, I got to do spring cleaning in the hourse. Think I might bring in Merry Maids or someone like that for some help. I know they don't do windows and "detail work", so I'll get Dh to help me too.

I'm down 1.5 pounds this week. Good since my exercise was down, I got my period yesterday and ate chocolate every day last week. Moderation is the key...

Catherine - you're in my thoughts. I hope and pray you get some relief quickly in your home situations.

Hello everyone!

Hello

Hi Elizabeth,
My daughter and I are on the diet journey of 2006 too. She is 11 yrs old. Her and I started TOPS (take Off Pounds Sensibly) on Janruary 3rd of this year. She has lost 23 1/2 pounds and I have lost 56 3/4 pounds. I am now the leader of TOPS. It is great be able to lose weight with someone, my daughter encourages me and tell me when i am eating the wrong thing and visa versa. We have weigh in tonight.

Good luck with your diet journey.

Nancy

Tuesdays

Hello ladies:

I guess I wasn't the only one MIA! I took Friday off to recover from the casino Thursday night so I was busy at work yesterday. I have been bad eating so I won't bore you with the gorey details. However after reading all the losses....congrats to you all!!!, I hope to get some inspiration, motivation and any other "ation" I can find here.

It's funny you were writing about pilates because my hip has been killing me (maybe the weather?) and I was thinking I should be doing my pilates, it really helps the back/hip area for me.

No time for personals so I'll check back tomorrow and will hopefully be eating better.

Take care. Mo

P.S. Nori, I can't believe you went down so many lbs these last few weeks!!! That's super.

jamamom 04-25-2006 04:00 PM

Welcome Nancy

:wel3fc: To you Nancy, so glad to have you here! You have been an inspiration and yet we have just met. Everyone has been kind if busy the last few days. You will get to meet all of us eventually! Posting is my relaxation from my everyday life which is why I seem to be the only one replying right now. Anyhow, I am glad that everyone is enjoying the wonderful weather. It is beautiful here also. If my DH would clear the garden area I would begin to plant. Well, my weight is still holding, exercise is going well. It is the eating that is killing me in more ways than one. Hope everyone else is doing better! Well, I am with my trainer tomorrow cannot wait. I am real curious to see what my BMI ratio is when he does my final assessment. My legs are darn close to being completely solid.:carrot: If only my butt and gut could be that solid. Oh well! Hope to hear from all of you, and that springfever does not take us all away. Nancy looking forward to hearing from you again.
LOL to all of you! Catherine

WOOHOO!!! My teeth are about the only solid thing on my body!

Mo - I am sort of shocked that I've kept losing weight these past couple weeks as well. I expected to maintain. I think it must be all the exercise I have done? Also, remember I'm a lot bigger than most of you here and have more to lose - so I can lose easier now than I will in 30 pounds, say. Over than past week or so I've stopped counting calories and am focusing on "Intuitive Eating" - eating only when honestly hungry, not having foods on a "bad" list, focusing on portion control and trying to stay away from all binging. We'll see how it goes. I may return to counting calories. I didn't set out to stop or anything - I just got so busy and not online so much. I did all my tracking at Nutridiary.com. I'm eating basically the same foods as before. Just not being so "exact" in the math.

Yes, welcome Nancy! THat's great about your dd too!!
