Happy Friday
:hat: HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
So last night I went to my WW meeting. I LOST 2.8 POUNDS! However, I'm not updating my ticker yet, because my ticker is based off my weight on my home scale, and I weigh at home on Monday mornings. That way I'm consistent. Momto2 - I started my weight loss journey in January of 2005. However, I have to admit I haven't been as dedicated as I should. I would work out, and I would stick to my WW points about 4 days out of the week. Then I would eat whatever I wanted all weekend, and not exercise. For the past 2 weeks I have been exercising consistently, and watching what I eat consistently. Part of why I weight at home on Mondays now is to keep myself in control on the weekends. After my visit to the dr. and the news about my blood pressure being so unreasonably high, I've also been watching my sodium intake. I used to eat a Lean Cuisine for lunch every day, but I didn't realize how much sodium they had in them. So now I'll just eat 1 or 2 a week, and I'll select the meals with less sodium. Oh, I almost forgot your question about the elliptical! On my gym nights, I do kind of a circuit thing. For instance, last night I did 20 mins on the elliptical, 10 minutes on the bike, 3 minutes on the stair stepper, another 10 minutes on the bike, and then 12 minutes on the treadmill. I try to mix things up, vary the resistance and speed, that way my body has to keep guessing to keep up. Everyone - have a great weekend. I'll post an inspirational quote for us to think about the weekend next. |
Weekend Inspiration
:hungry:
REMEMBER, NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS. NO MATTER WHAT RESTAURANT WE GO TO, NO MATTER WHAT TEMPTS US. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: |
Great quote, Sarah! Thanks for sharing! Congrats on the weight loss too. You must be doing everything right since the scale doesn't lie! I weigh in on Mondays also...that way I'm accountable for the weekends...which according to my history are the hardest 2 days of my week. Dont' know why...since I'm a SAHM they really are no different than other days of the week. Just habits.
Stacye - Your before/during pics are inspirational!! Fantastic!! Since you mention it in your sig, I hope you don't mind me asking, when are you going to ttc again? OK, the following is a ME post. I dont' want to bring negative energy here, but here it is... I'm feeling impatient with my weight loss. I usually lose faster. Guess I'm getting older. And it's been a good 3 years since I've really been watching closely what I eat and trying to drop weight. I've always been a somewhat consistant exerciser (until the past year), but not been able to change eating habits. Geez, yesterday was only day 21 and I've lost 10 pounds. I know that's great in my head, but I have these memories of losing 20-25 pounds in a month that are getting me down. I've always packed the weight I've lost back on and I know slow or at least consistant is the best and I've lost on average 3 pounds each week so far. I know AF, due in a few days, is making these thoughts worse...I'm anticipating a low or no weight loss this week because of bloating. I WILL JUST KEEP PLUGGING AWAY. There is a quote that has helped me out these few weeks: Never trade what you want in the moment for what you want the most. Have a good day, ladies! |
My butt hurts!
Hello everyone! Well, yes, my butt hurts!:carrot: I did my new workout video yesterday which has a lot of squat/kicks! At least I know it works. I had a hard time with most of it, it was a dance routine, kind of! How do they do it on The BL video? I am getting back on track with my diet. My weight is holding right now. I hope to improve it this week. I went to a stress class for women today at work, they gave us chocolate and fruit. I only had one peice of chocolate. They did give us ways to help deal with stress and work through it. I am glad that they offer programs like this at work. Hope everyone has a good weekend! catherine |
Motivation Needed!
Good Morning everyone and congratulations on your weight loses!!!!!:cb:
I am ready to start over this morning. I'm still not feeling well so when I got up this morning I grabbed a little debbie snack cake to eat so I can take my meds. I started off on the wrong foot but the day will get better. I plan to eat a lot of oranges to fight off these virus'. I still haven't lost any more weight other than the 4 pounds last week but I also have not exercised in a week. I am writing this trying to motivate myself to get back to it. Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My head says go walk on the treadmill but my body says I'm not well enough. I start coughing and wheezing. :faint: Has anyone else been using fitday.com to track what they are eating and their activities? According to it I should be loosing. I have been burning 1000 calories more each day than I have been eating. Catherine-Any good tips come from the stress class? I need all I can get. I am starting a new job where I work on Monday and the dept. has been working a lot of overtime so I guess I will be too.:stress: Hope everyone has a super day. |
how everyone is doing good..I think I'm getting sick now too...Hope I can keep with my workouts...
Catherine - what is your new workout video that you did? It sounds interesting... |
Hey Gang -
Well I am still waiting on my scale to get here - I really want ot do an official weigh in to see where I am at. Anyway ... my husband is back in town :woo: and this time he noticed a change !!! So that is a good sign or he has learned to just say it (I hope the later is not the reason).
I did measure and my waist is down an inch over the last 10 days. So there is hope. :carrot: Catherine - The routines on the biggest loser dvd are sets of exercise. I am still on 1 & 3 which are the options for the first 2 weeks (carido & Strength). I can get through the enrtire workout pretty easily though I start to really feel it at the end and afterwards. At the end of next week I move up to the other level so I will see how that goes. Nori - I have been doing the BL though I just got a walk away the pounds I am going to try. Right now I am not doing a gym, but I am going to join the one down the street from me. However, I do know I get an awesome deal if I wait to April or May. I know I should do it now, but I have to wait due to finances. Everyone - hope you are doing well - keep up the success we are finding together - Erin |

I wish I had an answer to your question about ttc but to be honest, at this point I'm just not sure. In the beginning I said I wanted to start trying again when I've lost 90 lbs - but if that goal was reached today, I don't think I'd be ready ... emotionally. I've spent over 17 yrs trying/not preventing - and last year, after being dx'd with PCOS and one tiny small procedure, we immediately started fertility. After a confirmed 'false' positive in August - my heart, mind & soul simply needed a break as did my DH's. But it weren't all for nothing b/c this break has helped me to lose 65 lbs and now my ole body is FINALLY working the way she should (O'ing & regular cycles) ... without meds! Jeepers... You didn't ask for the long version did ya!? LoL Now, for YOU - I know it's easy to get discouraged but I wanted to tell you that you're doing an awesome job! I'm not sure what plan you're on or what plans you've been on in the past ... but maybe this loss is different and a tad slower b/c you're doing it the right way this time? As I said, you're doing great ... stay strong - you will accomplish your goal! Just noticed that you're doing the BL dvd ... I am too, don't ya just love it!!? btw - loved the quote! to everyone else ... You're all doing such a super-fabulous job :bravo: - you each keep the rest of us inspired! I'm in a rush to get ready this morning - I'll be back in a bit to get caught up! Later Losers! :D |
Wow, Staceye - you understand what it means to wait for something. I pray you are blessed with a healthy pregnancy and baby - when the time is right. Hopefully you getting healthy and starting to O and getting regular on your own will help and then life will cooperate with you.
And YES, I love the BL dvd. It's a great workout. I really see and feel a difference in my jeans this am when I got dressed!!!!! And I'm bloated from AF coming!! Have a good weekend, all! |
I met with my trainer at the gym last night and he set up a circut of weights anc ardio for me to do. I am soooo feeling it today! Going grocery shopping today to get lots of healthy food and snacks!

getting back to it
1 Attachment(s)
I've been so bad and I haven't even been back on my diet long. Anyway, I told myself thursday night before going to bed that when I woke up friday I was going to do exactly what I needed to so I could lose the weight and I did great yesterday. Today, however, although I've kept track of all my points for some reason no matter what I did I just felt so hungry so I had to dip into those extra points you get each week with WW. What I really need is to get to the store and buy lots of the zero point stuff and low point meals. I'm having to do with what we have right now and of course it's the higher point stuff. I've decided to just ignore my husband completely. No matter what he says I'm not gonna get discouraged and mess up. It's not that he's trying to be mean but he doesn't know how to be supportive and sometimes he can come across as being mean. Anyway, I probably wouldn't be able to do it if I had not found this sight.
I'm completely exhausted. I have 3 boys and none of them can make it through the night without waking up wining at least once a piece but usually it's twice a peace. That actually can take a tole on a person. It makes me feel like I really don't care what I eat or how I look. But I will do better. I don't really like how I look and it depresses me to look at pictures of me several years back. Anyway, if i can figure out how to post a picture, then I'll share my boys pic. |
 Evening all - well we went to the store today - J & E stayed int he car while I ran in;of course, now I am hearing it from my husband.
I bought veggies for the turkey soup I made today - it was yummy!!!. Fresh bread (whole wheat) & some sushi - my treat for the weekend. more veggies, some frozen entrees (Safeway has some premade meals like turkey lagasna and chicken enchilladas that are low cal & fat)some canned stuff and salsa to make with chicken / dinners this week. Of course there is not much processed food, regular white bread, treats etc - I shop more for me since J is not home often and I figured it is the time to teach E at his 3 and 1/2 years how to eat well. I was also pretty proud of my self I bought enough for the week and only spent about $46 for a whole cart full of food. Well J is off to the store right now to get lunch meats, white bread & chips so he can make a sandwich and have a snack. I am just irratated since I asked if he wanted anything and he said no. I guess he has not gotten use to my new ways. I am going to try to talk to him later tonight or tomorrow when he is not upset that we went to the grocery store and he had to run out again. I do not think he was actually upset, but I think more it was the last thing he wanted to do when we spent a Sat evening at home. Any way - Serena - you can see like you dealing wiht the spouse is an issue we al have to deal with. I sympathise with you. It is not the easiest thing and J is not even home all the time - his job takes him on the road about 50% of the time. nmmy - goodjob on getting to the gym - hope your trainer gives you some get ideas and pointers. Momto2 - I am glad you seeing a difference in the jeans - these are the things that keep us going. My wedding ring is moveable since I can not remember when so the "non scale" things mean a lot. My late nigt reading is Winning by Losing - Jillian MIchaels (BL tainer) - she has some great thoughts on those in your life and how they fit inthe diet / change in your lifestyle - I can really use it after talking to some of my family yesterday. Good luck everyone - keep going and take care - Erin :) |
New BMI
Greetings chickies,
Wow you miss a couple of days and get miles behind in the posts thats awesome so many posts . Well my goal for the week was 2 pounds I wanted to add another little dancer guy and I wanted to hit 197 and get into a new BMI and I did it :carrot: I did it :carrot: I did it.:carrot: :carrot: I have noticed I have a real all or nothing attitude, Weds was a difficult day for me and I kept think "oh I had such a bad day " well it wasn't a bad day I went over on my food points but not way over and I used some flex points, and I only exercised 40 min on the elliptical. So why do I think it was a bad day, when I didn't overeat, I exercised and I had no sugar (day 31 no sugar). Today when I weighed in a WW I had lost 2 and a bit pounds and my first thought was "is that all?". I need to be more aware of the big picture and not so hung up on the microscopic bits of it. So ladies the big picture is, in the last 4 weeks I have lost 16 lbs, exercised for and hour 21 days out of 28 and stayed away from refined sugar not bad at all. I need to not sweat the small stuff....just sweat..lol :tread: |
so far so good
Everybody seems to being doing great. Thankfully, so am I. I've stayed within my points so far but i'm only on day 3. I still have a problem with the sugar thing. I use equal with my coffee and the few pieces of candy that I ate yesterday were sugar free but I think I would do so much better if I could cut it out all together. If I could just get rid of this sweet tooth of mine completely it would be so much easier. I know dieting is extremely hard for anyone, but I don't think it would be as difficult for me if it weren't for the fact that I don't like vegetables. My favorit foods are sweets, dairies and bread. I do not like vegetables at all. If your familier with WW then you know a lot of vegetabls have a 0 point value which is really good and works great if you actually like vegetables. I don't like salads at all. I think if I actually liked vegetables I would have something to fill the void when I'm feeling hungry. I know a lot of people say they keep celery sticks or carrot sticks around for snacking if they need them, but that doesn't work for me cause I just don't like them. I've learned to enjoy things like greens, squash and broccoli but only if their cooked certain ways, and I just don't enjoy cooking nore am I good at it so it all just seems like too much work to me and I really dis like myself for it cause my children are extremely picky. They don't like vegetables either and everyone blames me for it and I really don't wish to admit they may be right.
Anyway, I'm glad everyone else seems to be doing so well. |
So I had DH take those dreaded, oh-so-honest, full length pics this morning - front, side and back view.      :fr: :fr:   So the front wasn't a huge shock... I'm too freaked out to put them in my siggy until I have some "after" shots...maybe in 25 pounds or so! Anyways, it was good, all the drama aside. That is ME! At least I look happy!! I am happy. Happy to be getting healthy and firm. Happy that hopefully my girls will never have to be embarrassed to have the "fat mom".
So I'm taking the day off from exercising. My knees are a tad sore today and I know I over did it yesterday on the lunges. I started this journey 25 days ago and this will only be the second day I haven't worked out. Not too bad. Serena - I'm not a huge fan of veggies. But I do have some I like. I love fruit, but of course none of that is "free". Nighthawk - Congrats on getting to a new BMI!! DAY 31 WITH NO SUGAR!!!! That's HUGE!:carrot: :carrot: I've only managed about 2 days with no sugar in 25 days. I'm accountable for everything that passes these lips, so I'm very aware of what I eat and I still choose to allow a little sugar. I think I feel a little inspiration to strive for a new goal now. Thanks! Erin - sorry about the DH issues. Change is hard. I bet he'll come around to having healthy foods in the house as you stick to your guns about it and he sees you changing. I do think it is so important to set good examples for our kiddos too. Luckily my DH is a health freak - not because he's so healthy - he actually has had typeII diabetes for about 6 years now - and he controls it very well with diet and exercise. Keep up the good work, ladies! You're all an inspiration...I'm still blown away by "31 days without sugar!!!":dizzy: Well, gotta go put someone down for a nap. It's been raining and snowing off and on all day - very dreary and cold. I might just take a nap too! -Nori |
snow
That actually makes me a little sad. I would love to see snow. I keep trying to talk my husband into moving north. I told him it would actually probably help me lose weight cause I actually spend a lot of time at my mothers house and she buys lots of snacks and stuff for the grand kids and I'm the type of person that if it's there I just can't say no but when I go grocery shopping and I pass the cookie, candy and chip isle I can pass by with no problem. Unfortunately I haven't been able to convince him yet. He says maybe in another few years but my concern is, I want to move while the boys are still young and don't really have a lot of attachments yet. If we wait until their in school then it might actually be tougher on them to move away. Anyway, as far as the eating at my mothers, I know that is a personal problem that I really need to deal with. I just keep trying to tell myself I can do it, just think of the wat I'll feel in a few months if I can continue to do it. I actually have been doing it the last few days but today I broke down and had some sweets. I haven't used up all my extra points yet though so the week could still turn out to my advantage.

Doing my best!
From what I can tell, everyone seems to be doing really well! I did my whole workout video yesterday! Definately, feeling it today! I went roller skating today with my kids. I had a blast but still it gets a little crowded at time. I have not weighed in! I do not think I have lost any this week I had a few bad days, food wise! Well,I finally got my picture on here! Will attempt to put my kids picture at the bottom. Computer has been acting up! Nighthawk that is wonderful that you lowered your BMI! And you ARE right! Don't sweat the small stuff! I need to remember that! Ejb and Serena, I pray for you to have the strength. Just remember we are here for you and will give you as much support as we can. I am fortunate to have a husband, children, co-workers and some other friends who give me support. It is nice that my children who are 11 and 9 understand and give me support also! Ejb, i went looking for the BL dvd, but could not find it, where did you get it at? Dgpebbles, the workout that I am using is Denise Austin's Burn Fat Fast. It does a lot of dance moves and tries to keep it as a Dance Party ( cardio) The strength part of it is still a killer for me in some of the areas. But, I do like it! Kmccann, I will send you some of the stress stuff later! I will scan some of the stress reducing ideas and get them on here, sometime this week! For all those who weigh in tomorrow, happy pounds off! catherine |
Happy Sunday
Just got back from a nice walk i took a break from the elliptical machine I get bored exercising inside but during the week it's too dark when I have free time so on it I go ;)
Serena : dont be so hard on yourself heres a little tip instead of saying "....But I am only on day 3" say "and I'm on day 3" pat yourself on the back for what you have acomplished. I fall into that trap too, but it's what got me to 213 pounds. On the vegie thing I used to be like you I ate carrots and peas and salad gradually my tastes changed and now I eat tons. Do you like spaghetti sauce? if you do grind up mild tasting vegies in the food processor and add them to your sauce I do that to fool kids into eating more vegies. good luck with the rest of the week You can do it :cheer: Nori: Way to go on all the execise days do you crave it yet? I am still waiting for that ....lol... I'm pretty happy about the no sugar thing I find that no sugar really helps me stay on track with the food. I confess the first couple of week where really hard specially coming of the whole christmas cookie gorge :dizzy:. I got through it with diet pop every time I had a sugar craving I had a diet pop(it was emarrassing how many cans I had when I took in the recycle..lol) anyway the longer I go the easier it is and I've eased up on the pop too 1 maybe 2 a day not 5 or 6 Catherine: way to go on finishing the video I'm thinking I need to look into one to shake things up(and I'm not talking about my belly either ;) ) Rollerskating what fun I haven't roller skated since the '70's Have a great week everyone!! |

Catherine - I got the BL dvd at Borders book store. I've heard it's at WalMart also. BTW, nice to see your happy face now! Nice pic! |

ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it. Onederland, finally. I can't explain how good this feels. I never thought I'd say I'd happy to weigh 199 pounds, but it's a step in the journey. I feel like the hardest part of the journey is over. Everyone, you are doing so well. Just coming here and reading and posting, you're telling yourself you are ready to make this change. Just keep telling yourself "I DESERVE THIS." Because you do. And you have people rooting for you. Okay - I want to see a post from everyone today!!! Let's hear how the exercise is going! Let's hear how the healthy food choices are going! Let's hear about if you have a new favorite healthy recipe???? Post any of your questions or concerns? Someone on here may have the help you need! |
CONGRATULATIONS SARAH! :cheer: That's wonderful! And now you're over halfway to your goal on your ticker! :D
I didn't weigh in this week (bloating, TOM, ugh) but I have lost 9 pounds in January even without this week's weigh in! I'm very proud of myself for working out and eating right during school, which is something I've struggled with for 3 years. I'm aiming to lose 6-8 pounds during February. I KNOW I can do this. I'm going to agree with Sarah's post.. you ladies are such an inspiration! I truly look forward to seeing how everyone is doing. THANK YOU EVERYONE! |
Katie Bug - WAY TO GO! 9 pounds in one month is AMAZING. I know you can make your February goal, too!!! I see from your ticker that you just need 1 more pound to be over your halfway point! Keep up the great work!

Welcome to a New Week of the New You !!
Hi Ladies
I hope this finds you all well. I've enjoyed reading all the posts, and seeing the pics of all of you !! Such beautiful ladies, and beautiful families. I have been such a slacker lately, and I sincerely apologize :( but between work and home life's been a TAD BUSY !! This past weekend J and my Dad worked on our home we've been renovating, and my Mom was painting our kitchen cabinets. So on the renovation project ~things are starting to move along rather smoothly. :) Denise Austin Blast Away the Pounds Indoor Walk is FANTASTIC !! :carrot: I did that and the stretch on it as well. Felt so good afterwards, and am looking forward to doing it again. You can customize her DVDs to your liking and needs. So I may be getting another one, and the BL. You Ladies have me convinced that for SURE is one DVD to have !! Feel the :flame: !! For the month of January I lost a total of 19 lbs !! Sarah - Congratulations on ONEDERLAND!!!!!:cp: :cp: :high: :high: I cannot wait for that day again. It's been over 5 years.
Katie - 9 pounds is fantastic! :high: You Feb goal is totally possible! Elizabeth - Hi there! Nice to see you again. The Valentine pic of Sam in your siggy is so cute and adorable and the blinkie is great! Hey, don't apoligize for having a life! 19 pounds is such a great weight loss to kick off your new year! When is your cruise again? I think I remember that was your reward? Where in Alabama do you live? My DH is from Selma. A sort of rough, poor neighborhood. Left as soon as he graduated from high school and never looked back. I've been there a few times to visit. I cannot stand the bugs in the summer. Or the wet heat. I grew up and still live in the desert! I like going at Christmas time the best. I think I may be able to go back to the gym tomorrow!:carrot: It's been 2 weeks today since the girls got sick and I think tomorrow there will be no signs of it anymore! Both still have a tad of a nighttime cough. It's actually been great working out to dvd's though. I wasn't looking forward to it at first and now I actually like it. I love the gym environment, and will do that, but will probably come home and do the toning/strengthing from a dvd. (OK, I'm embarrased to do abs at the gym...:o ) I started AF today and I went ahead and weighed in. Not a good as expected given my calories in vs. calories out on Nutridiary.com. But I expected that given the bloating. Anyone else lose their appetite when AF comes? I do. Like I don't even want to be around food. Not make dinner or anything. But I will. Happy Mondays Ladies!! It'll be a great week. Full of good food choices. And exercise. Getting stronger and leaner! |
Here's a real yummy recipe I've made a few times this month.
Apricot Garlic Rosemary Chicken 24 oz (4-6 breasts, depending on size) skinless, boneless chicken breasts 5 cloves garlic (pressed or chopped very fine) 1 tsp. dried crushed rosemary 1 tbsp. olive oil 1/2-1 tsp. salt ( I thought 1 tsp was too salty) 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 tbsp. lemon juice 1/2 cup apricot jam ( I actually like apricot-pineapple jam - same calories) 2 tsp. Dijon mustard Cut the chicken breasts into cutlets - or leave them whole if you prefer. In a large bowl marinate chicken in the garlic, rosemary, oil, salt, pepper & 2 Tablespoons of the lemon juice for 2 hours, stirring meat a few times. Bake on a cookie sheet covered in aluminum foil at 400 degree for 20 minutes. In a small bowl, mix preserves, mustard & the remaining 2T of lemon juice. Remove chicken from oven & evenly spread the jam mixture on each piece. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until meat is no longer pink in middle. Put under broiler for a couple of minutes to get it nice and brown on top. Pour any juices in the pan over the chicken. May be served hot or cold (makes a great potluck dish). You could lower the calories by omiting olive oil and using sugar free preserves. PER 4-oz serving: Calories 268 Total Fat 6g Saturated Fat 1g 11% Cholesterol 93mg 31% Sodium 109mg 5% Total Carbohydrate 18g Protein 34g 26% |
Mmmm, Nori, that sounds divine! I'll have to try it.
|
Katie - I just remembered that I had changed the recipe a tad - so in case you printed it or something - just notice that changed. It originally called for 1t salt and I thought it was too salty, so I changed it to 1/2t and it was fine. Also I put some of lemon juice in the marinade. It originally only had it in the sauce.
I actually just went up and mixed it up for dinner. So, I didn't feel like it--but I did it! |
Happy Monday Gang
It is awesome to see everyone doing so well. I am little disappointed my new scale is not here yet, I tried the old fashioned one and it says 275. I see it as a lost, but am going to wait to I get the new scale to confirm everything.
I have not done well on the exercise - it seems harder to find time when J is home. I think I am going to try the blast away the pounds I have tomorrow - if nothing else I will get on the ellipitical in the morning - this week I will hit 30 mins minimum at least 4 times this week. Today was another good healthly dinner. Some spinach salad, beef ternderlion (very lean and good portion control), plus some baked eggplant with tomato, mushroom and a bit of cheese. I thought is was yummy and still had some calories left over so hit my 1300 min for the day. Can you guys hear Jin the background say he is looking for food!! Catherine - I originally got the BL from Netflix to try - you can get copies at Walmart and Target (I think I got mine at Target). Nori - I am glad everyone is feeling better - good job finding out what you are comfortable and getting it all done! Sarah - great news on onederland - WTG!! Katie - 9 pounds is awesome any loss is a good loss. Take care ladies - good night - Erin |
Hey everyone..well I weighted in today and I'm only down 1lb but I went and bought another pair of pants for work and got it one size smaller and they are even loose on me so I'm feeling good ...
Catherine - thanks for the video tip...I ordered it online..I do like her workouts....I've been doing the biggest loser dvd but it's getting kinda boring..I need to add some mix to it Sarah - great job...onderland is awesome..I'm so happy for you.. Katie - 9lbs in a month is geat..thats a little more than 2 per week which is good I've been buying low carb pita bread lately and stuffing it with veggies, chicken, tuna etc..I really like it.. |
I'll have to try the lc pita's. I've been eating the lc tortillas and enjoying them.
|
Momto2 - Thanks for the recipe! I'll definitely have to try that. Don't you love being able to work out at home with embarrassing things like abs? LOL-I don't do weight lifting or abs at the gym. I hope to one day, but for now I'm not ready. I do the weights and abs at home.
EJB - did you cook the eggplant? If so, how? It sure sounds yummy! Everyone keep up the good work! We can do this!!!!!!! Even better news than my weight loss, my blood pressure is coming down. I still need to get it down more so I don't have to go on medication. PERSEVERE - IT'S WORTH IT - YOU'RE WORTH IT - NEVER GIVE UP! |
doing well
Hi everyone, glad everyone is doing well. So far so good for me too. I've lost 4 pounds since last week. I've been doing much better with my elipitical as well. I've also been doing much better at blocking out the negativity. Or atleast what I perceive as negative. Anyway, keep up the good work everyone cause yall are the only ones that seem to be helping me get through this.

It does help to check in here, Serena! You realize you're not alone at all. You are doing great!
Erin - I know what you mean about finding time to exercise when DH is home. How long does he stay at home and away on average? Hey, hope you get your scale soon. I'd say that's a BIG loss! Eggplant is one of those veggies I don't know how to cook. I grew some in the garden this year and didn't use them.:^: I ordered them in a Thai dish once and like it - but I've never attempted to make Thai at home. We only have 1 tv (per me!!) in the house and I'm starting to re-think that right now. My DH is a tv junkie and if he's home it's on...which means it's harder for me to workout. He'll let me do it - but I don't like to, because then he sits and watches me work out and then he wants a different kind of workout after that.:dunno: WHY DO YOU ONLY SEE SKINNY/FIT PEOPLE DOING 100'S OF ABS AT THE GYM????:p Anyways, I made a exercise ticker for February and cannot wait to get going on month 2!!! Have a good evening ladies! It is evenign for most of you I think. Am I the only West Coaster? Go Seahawks!!;) |
I'm back

Me Again
Welcome all. I'm adding the carrot again just cause it makes me laugh. :carrot:
My personal diet journey is having issues. I'd rather sandpaper the rear of an alligator in a phonebooth than eat one more Salad:p B also busted me on a stash of chocolate that I had found. It was so pathetic. It had to have been 6 months old, but old fat boy sure chugged it down. I'm trying but man it's hard. Pray for me and hope that we both hang in there Later Tators J |
WOO-HOO...I got to get back into the gym this morning!!!:hyper: I did the BL low-intensity cardio and only got that far into it before the girls woke up. They are finally better, so I just got them dressed and went to the gym. What a difference 2.5 weeks makes on how crowded the gym was - after 1/1 there were lots of people who were only there for their NW resolutions!! They are gone. I mean, too bad for them, but now it's not a race for an empty machine!! Did 30 min on elliptical and 20 on treadmill at 4mph & 5% incline. I'm stronger already from all the dvd's I've don eat home recently. I could really tell since I hadn't been on those machines for weeks.
So I joined the February points challenge over in the 100-pound club. FEBRUARY Points Challenge = link if you are interested in joining. You get 2 points a day for sticking to food plan, and 1 each for water and exercise. I think it will help me kick this refined sugar thing I have. So far so good today. I wasn't ever pigging out on :m: :cookie: :chockiss: ... just 50 or so calories a day. But I want to kick it real good this month. DH BETTER NOT buy me chocolate for V-day. I better tell him that just in case!:D J - I have to sometimes skip salad for a couple days. Just get tired of it. I do enjoy it usually. I'm a dressing freak - so have to have a good low cal dressing or I cannot do it! I have to enjoy what I'm eating, or I'll just go look for something else. Hang in there. It's so nice that you have eachother to help the other out! She WAS just "helping" you, you know??:D Good job, Lisa! That's fantastic! Donna - what dvd's did you order? Glad you get a day off! Hi everyone else! Hope you're having a healthy day! |
where is everyone?
Well, it sounds like everyone has been doing well this week! :carrot: SALAD! Well, sometimes it does start to taste like grass. :p I just put my Rasp. vinegrette on it and eat away anyways. I would love to go to the gym and workout!:ebike: I have a free pass at the gym here on the University campus! It is a benefit! But how would you all feel working out next to all those very fit college students? They stand there and look at you like you are pitiful while they are waiting for a machine. Sometimes it kind of makes me sick. I do not have anyone to go with me so that is kind of a bummer! So I just workout at home.:strong: That is going ok so far. Well, I am going to go! Where is everyone else? It seems we are missing a few! Hope everyone is Ok!;) |
