There are several ways to calculate body fat percentage. The most accurate but most difficult is by immersing your body in water. The next most accurate is by using regular calipers where they measure the rolls of fat on your body at various places, probably the third most accurate is what you are familiar with at Curves which are electrical impedence monitors which make some assumptions based on age and gender and also some calculations as they send electricity through a circuit. After that, the rest are calculations that make a lot of assumptions and are not as accurate--particularly your bathroom scale. My bathroom scale tells me I have a different percentage of body fat every single day.

HeY P'sIC,
Lot's of activity again. I've just been so busy I guess. LOL, I say busy but then think of how I have no kids, no school, no life hehehehe.... but I've been working a lot, and hubby hasn't been feeling well. I've been checking posts, but just haven't had the time to respond. Sounds like everyone is doing good. Petra, you sound so pumped up on the new book. I havn't gotten 4-corners yet. Was gonna order it last week when I found how inexpensive it was, (credit card wasn't handy at that moment.) But then after getting the new car I'm kinda afraid to ask if I can spend more money lmao! Jillian's book sounds good too- but I honestly don't know if I have the dedication for the exercise routine. (YET). I know this sounds paranoid, but is anyone SURE it's really her posting? I guess it doesn't really matter cuz whoever it is, is extremely helpful and motivating... just curious. My toe is healing up and I can put my shoe on now so I'll get back on my exercise video in the next couple days. I'm pushing the water again after falling off the watertruck ;), and I think I really need to kick myself in the rear to be more strict with what I'm allowing myself to eat. Not horrible, but I know I can do better! so, I want to wish everyone good luck & happy days! BTW Great roll call Jennie!, Congrats on the muscle Curley! WooHOOOOOOOO! :grouphug: |
Howdy All,
I am very very tired tonight!! This will be a quick pass through. LOL Petra: I am thinking about reading her book.... I probably could get it from the publisher. LOL I don't need to subscribe to the book of the month clubs or buy any books..most publishers send them to me. I love it!! Dave probably could interview Denise Austin but he normally won't do those kind of interviews. Angel: You asked me if I finished M's dress..ummm..I started last night at 6:30, had to run to the store at 7...got back at 8...started again..worked and worked and worked..and finished at umm..5:30 this morning. I am working on very little sleep today. I am going to try to post the pic. (won't let me..if you want to see it..PM me your email address. LOL) There is 15 yards of material in this dress, it has 3 layers on the skirt plus the ruffles. I still need to do the neck thingy..and put the bows on it. Next time she wears it I will. She played beautifully. Ok..I thought I could do more personals...but I can't. LOL I will post tomorrow. Lisa |
Curly-I was thinking about the see-sawing question you asked Jillian. It will be interesting to see what she has to say. However, there is a piece to this puzzle that you didn't mention to her and you didn't even know about until last night--your lean body mass/body fat ratio. If you do have a lot of lean body mass, you may not be eating enough calories. Muscle needs food. I have this issue. I have 128 lbs of lean body mass and I am only 5' 4". I find I lose best when I eat between 1600-1800 calories. If I go much below that, my scale gets stuck, if I go much above 2000 I start to gain. I also don't exercise as much as you do so you may even need to eat more. It may be helpful to look back at your food log and see if there is a calorie trend like that. When I met with the trainer at my gym, she recommended I eat 1800 calories on the days I don't exercise, and 2200 calories on the days I do! Hope that is helpful.
|
I am 5 foot 5 so not much taller than you Petra, Makes sense to me.. I didnt think i would ever say this.... lol but i dont think i can eat that much hahaha thats a lot of calories.. But it does make sense.
the Protein power book also explains it that way .. u may not be losing scale weight but your clothes get bigger, and your body is getting smaller even if u dont weigh less |
Good Morning Everyone, and happy Sunday,
I have been OP this past week and I walked 6 days out of 7, but the scale seems to be stuck right now. :p I have been working on my other computer. I got a new case because the power switch went out on the old one. I got the motherboard, hard drive, etc moved and everything hooked up, but I can't get it to boot. Bummer. :( It has turned much cooler here with highs in the low 60s. Makes for nice walking. I am going to try some of your pumpkin recipes. They sound good! :) Gotta go get ready for 8AM church. zoey |
Angel : the book ive been reading "protein power" uses your waist and hip measurements to caluclate your % of body fat .. if u can PM those measurements to me i can crunch the numbers for ya.. oh and also your height in inches, and weight
|
Petra: I think the apple juice in the pumpkin butter recipie is just to reconstitute the pumpkin puree a bit so u can simmer it for 30 min
I dont think it would hurt if u used water in place of the juice.. I made the pumkin muffins using the brown sugar splenda, whole wheat flour and cut way back on the raisins.. OMG they are awesome... and spread a lil of that pumpkin butter on one and they are heaven! tho my father says >>> NOT sweet enuff lol |
Thankyou so much Curly for offering to run those numbers for me. I will pm you with my measurements!!
I took a peek this morning to see how the scale was doing this week and its still the same!!! I'm trying NOT to let that derail me but GEEZ!!!....its been a great week of OP foods and great workouts of cardio and weight training. When in doubt?.... wear your clothes that used to be tight as a reminder I always say!!! These poor pants,....I'm going to wear them to death!!! LOL The plan for today is to STAY ON PLAN!!! baby steps...baby steps!!! :crossed: Lisa.....ARE YOU AWAKE GIRL?.. :yikes: ..LOL....ZZZZZZZZZZZZ  OMG, I can't believe you were awake all night sewing it!! It sounds absolutely gorgeous!!! I wish I was closer to give you a hand. I love to sew esp. beautiful things and not just mending rips in boys clothes!!! Zoey.....Good for you on the walking!! :dancer: I love the cooler weather also. Not quite the same as what I'm used to, but I will still take 60's anytime over 80's. I grew up with winter temps for 5-6 months!!! LOVE SNOW!!! Petra.....You are the diet book guru!!! :spin: You sure do know alot about all of them. Especially the ratio's, formulas and regimes. I can barely keep one book straight, let alone as many as you've read. That is awesome!! Did you post a review yet on the site about Jillian's book yet? I saw from your ticker, that you are 1 lb away from ONDERLAND!!!! :cb: woohoo!!!! Hey? I noticed that some of us have our new "turkey ticker" up and running.....are we starting yet? when does this challenge end? GOBBLE GOBBLE!!! |
Angel. I also wanted to tell you that you can get your BMI on the 3FC home page. All you have to do is enter your weight and height and it will calculate it for you. BMI has a lot of limitations though. You are much better off tracking body fat % although it is more time consuming.
I am all ready for my family and they aren't here yet! I have the meat loaf all mixed up and in a bowl in the fridge, the broccoli all cleaned and chopped and in the steamer, the potatoes pealed and chopped and in a pot of water, the table set. I made low carb cheese cake yesterday and also some deviled eggs for an appetitizer and got some cheese and pepperoni. If they don't show up soon, I'm going to have to eat the appetizers by myself, LMAO! I also sliced up some fresh strawberries and sprinkled them with splenda in case anyone wants to put them on their cheesecake. No crust on this cheese cake because my dad is allergic to nuts--anaphylactic shock! I also have to cook corn for my nieces. Can you believe it, potatoes AND corn!! My brother is always late so I don't expect him until 5 minutes before we eat but I'm sort of surprised my sister and her family and my mom and dad aren't here already. Every time the dogs bark I run to the window. Well, I think the meatloaf should go in somewhere between 2-2:30 to be ready on time so I guess I better start thinking about the kitchen. Pray I don't eat too many appetitizers, LOL. I love deviled eggs. |
Petra, I hope that all is going well for your dinner and I am sure that it is because you sound like you really have it together! :D
There is a lot of info in this thread. I just ordered the four corners and win by losing books from Amazon. I have been going nuts trying to find a pumpkin cake recipe that I thought I saw in this thread. I went back through many pages and tried a couple of searches, but I haven't found it. I remember that it had oatmeal in it. Does anyone know what I am talking about or am I just :dizzy: ??? jhiraqua, how are you doing? zoey ps...Nevermind! I found it in a post by jenne934. z :smug: |
petra sounds like a great dinner!!!
|
Dinner went pretty well. I think the meatloaf turned out pretty well. Even the little girls ate it, although one complained about it some but apparently she complains about a lot of her food. I sent the extra carbs home with various family members. The cheesecake was very dense and some people couldn't eat it all but it was good. I could eat mine because I didn't have all those nasty carbs with my dinner, LOL. Deviled eggs got eaten up but I still have lots of cheese and pepperoni left over.
I'm also hosting Christmas dinner this year which we decided will be on the 26th. I have some time to plan for that. |
i'm sad tonite when i took chai for his walk the front door blew open and i guess one of my tabbies Mallie went outside.. ive been lookin for her all day.. and i live right next to a laundrymat,, i am starting to think someone took her... shes only gotten out 2x and she never has strayed away from the steps... :(
|
Curly-I hope your baby comes home safe.
I see you got an answer from Jillian and at least in the short run she wants you to increase your calories. It will be interesting to see what happens. Do you think you can do the workout in her book? I don't think I would be able to move if I did that? I get a kick out of the fact that the people on that thread are so obsessed with following the exercise program to a T but don't seem to care whether or not they are following the diet. What is up with that? |
i really do think someone took her.. but the owner of the laundry is my landlord and she runs video in the laundry .. i will ask her to have a look at the tape tomorrow..
the hard part for me will be no circuit training for a week .. i am addicted... they want the quick fix.. |
Hi All!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!?! I worked thru it as usual, lol. Been staying op, & drinking lots of water again :) Ya know, even tho I've only lost 10 lbs so far, my clothes are fitting so different/better and I'm actually feeling better. Heh, I can bend over and pick things up when I drop something now!! Ten always felt like such a drop in the bucket before. This time it feels different, but I can't really explain it. So anyways, I'm thinking of hitting the dr office again on Tues. We'll see ;) Ya'll have a great Monday and I'll read ya laterz! Zoey~ That recipe was from curley I think... and called for making pumpkin pie filling following the directions on the can, using Splenda and adding 1 1/2 cups oatmeal. It's kinda cake-like but more pie-like but a little more solid. It was wonderful with some FF cool whip on it! Even my picky hubby liked it. Petra & Curley~ Wow you guys sound so pumped! I can't wait to hear how it goes for you two. Petra, I always loved hosting the holiday meal! I never cared much for everyday cooking lol, but gimme a 30lb turkey to plan and cook and I love it! Curley~ I'm sending my thoughts over for your kitty. I hope she turns up soon! :grouphug: |
Iwmonn-I don't know if you have looked at that thread or not but everyone on it is really excited. However, they only seem interested in the exercise part of this program which I find fascinating. If you read what I said about the book, it is a three part program, and they are getting totally obsessed with only one part of it and perhaps missing some of the more important stuff. I think Curly is right, they are looking for a short cut, or a quick fix, and she says over and over again in the book, there is no such thing. She might be wise to point that out on the thread.
I'm not doing Jillian's program. According to her book, I'm a balanced oxidizer so I should be on The Zone. I thought about switching for a little while to see if it made a difference but that diet is so darn complicated I don't think I could do it. I have just increased my carb allowance a litte (closer to four corners). I'm also sticking to my current exercise program (once my aching foot heals) because I think it is something I can stick to. In case you wondered how all these diet programs overlap, the maintenance phase of protein power, the zone, and parts of the schwarzbein principle are all the same diet. How about that? That's why I say, the more I read, the more I think four corners just turns out to be a nice compromise. It's sort of in the middle of everything with good nutritional recommendations. I'll be interested to hear what Curly thinks when she gets around to reading the book-which by the way is a much easier read than protein power. |
lol.. Petra Ive read 2 books this weekend.. protein power and sugar busters... 4 corners is next on my list!
since i cant do my circuit training this week i'll have an extra hr each day for reading! and still no kitty :( this morning i made up flyers and put them up.. but i really do think someone took her.. she eats like a pig and would have been looking for breakfast first thing this morning... sigh i dont know why they would take her shes just a plain old tabby cat.. but she is really big @17 lbs and has the most beautiful eyes u have ever seen on a cat they are emerald color |
Hey Ladies,
wow, a weekend with out checking in and I have a whole book to read so I can catch up . I was feeling so gross and bloated so before my WI, I decided to do my jog and try and sweat some of the bloat out, I have no idea if that works but it feels good. And I lost!!! yeah :carrot: 1.8. I had stayed on my program but, I just felt like I had gained so when I got to my WI, I told the woman, don't even tell me, I know I gained and she was like oh no, you lost! I was so excited. The last time I did well on a diet, the lowest I got was 204 so I'm at a new low. Now I just have to keep the momentum going. I can do it. Curley, I hope you find your kitty. My cat hardly ever goes out so when he does, I always think he'll get lost. I dont' think anyone would take him because he is such a wild man but I always fear he'll get lost and not find his way back. Petra, dinner sounded yummy, I coulg go for some meatloaf right about now, maybe I'll make one tonight. Zoey, I haad posted that cake recipie a while back, you use the recipie on the can and add the 1 1/2 cups of oatmeal. YOu can substitute, splenda for sugar and eggbeaters for eggs to make it fit your plan. Its very yummy. I found it in the core recipies in the WW forum here. Iwmonn, 10 pounds is great, don't think its just 10 pounds, think ITS 10 POUNDS!! Lisa, Angel, L2L, Dee, Turtle, I hope you all had a great weekend too. ttyl Jennie |
Morning!!
I too bought the book Petra. I went online and got a coupon for 25% off at Borders, so I thought.....why wait to order it when I can get a pretty good deal today. I want to catch the "buzz" and give it a try. I am still stuck at the same weight even though I was OP and excercised. This will (might) just shake it up abit. OOOPS...gotta run...ds has to catch the bus. I'll finish my post later....... :carrot: |
Thanks everyone, I found the recipe. I need to get out for a walk pretty soon. It is in the 30s so I guess that I will wear tights today. [That's a scary thought].
Curly....I was so sad to read about your cat. Did you get to look at the laundromat video? Petra....I ordered Jilian's book because it sounds like a good read. I will be interested in the first 2 parts. I doubt that any of her exercises will be my speed! Iamonn....I think that 10 pounds is a lot. Think of 10 pounds of butter! Jennie....1.8 pounds gone forever. Good on you! Thanks for the hints for the recipe. Angel....I am stuck too. We just have to hang in there! Hi to everyone else. zoey |
okay back....
Curly.....so sad to hear about your cat. Who would take another persons pet? :dunno: Hope kitty comes home safe and sound. good luck with the new treadmill routine! Zoey.....continue with your walking. I'm sure you will break your plateau. For me I'm doing all the right things also, hopefully the book will jumpstart me!! Jennie......woohoo girl!!! Fab job on the weight loss. :carrot: Petra......what is the exact name and author of the four corners book? I was at Borders and Barnes and NOble, and couldn't find it. I may have to order it. Iwmonn......10 lb is fantastic!!! NIce to have a loose and saggy butt!! :D and I mean that in a good way!! |
Angel....I ordered the four corners book at Amazon. The author is Jack Goldberg and the full title is: The Four Corners Diet: The Healthy Low-Carb Way of Eating for a Lifetime
zoey |
TY Zoey.....it sure helps to know exactly what you're looking for!! I'm still on Jillians book but have written down the Four Corners book as Petra highly reccommends it. Have a good day!
|
hello everyone.. sorry I didnt post this weekend, but we were totally busy... I was getting in all my junk so I could conquer my cravings for my new way of eating.. Today is day 1, and so far I made myself an egg beaters omlete with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, and turkey bacon with just a smidgen of velveeta.. with a glass of orange juice. and for lunch a big bowl of grapes, apples, and sliced bananas with a bottle of water. I plan on making chicken breasts with brown rice and steamed veggies for dinner..
I'll have to get back on the excersize band wagon too, but right now I'm just going to focus on my eating.. I'm sad to say, that I already have a cheat day scheduled for Sunday, but my 5 year wedding anniversary is Monday (Halloween), so me and Hubby are going out to dinner to celebrate, and hopefully my next cheat day wont be until Thanksgiving.. it's so funny, because last week I told Adam (hubby) that I wanted to go like on a low fat/low carb diet.. and mostly eat chicken breast with steamed veggies, well on Saturday, we were watching MTV and they had a show called "TRUE LIFE I'm on a Diet" and this one girl hired a trainer and ate boiled chicken breasts with brown rice, and lost 30lbs in 4 weeks.. I was like "WHOA".. I'm not gonna be that strict, and I can't afford a trainer, but it was definately motivational.. Curly: I'm soo sorry to hear about your cat.. It tears me up inside that most people don't take the time out of their busy days to help a lost animal find its way home.. We had found a dog in our front yard a couple months ago, he didnt have any tags, and wasn't microchiped so we locked him up in our kennel and posted signs, unfortunately, no one claimed him, so we ended up taking him to the Humane Society to be adopted.. Hopefully your kitty will find its way home.. EVERYONE: you all are doing such a great job.. thank you for still supporting me even though I jumped ship a couple of times.. I hope you all have a great day, and I will check in tomorrow... -DeeRod |
angel dont forget "protein power" its a really good book also
ty deerod: i actually think someone took her from my yard, i live right next door to a laundrymat. |
Curly.....How did your treadmill walk go? I couldn't help but read Jillian's reply to you on the other thread. Any word your kitty yet? Still can't believe that.
I have to watch out for my cat. I never really noticed but she is going deaf, I freaked out a couple of years ago when she walked right under the school bus when the boys were getting off of it. She was as happy as can be, sitting there under the wheel well and wouldn't hear my screams. Gosh I was so scared she'd get run over. Since then, its house bound for her. Who knew my silly little barn cat with half a tail would live to the ripe ol' age of 18!! I got her before dh and I were even married. |
nope no luck finding her and i searched for an hr after work.. i really do think someone took her.. there must be 20,000 tabbies in the state of maryland that are waiting to be adopted .. i dont know why someone would take another persons pet..
i dont have access to a treadmill but i did walk |
Loooong day today but I did end up going to the doctor about my foot. Turns out it is a ligament and not the tendon so they can't inject it. Oh well. I have to get a elastic wrap for it and take lots of ibuprofen and hopefully in a few weeks it will get better. I also got my flu shot today. I have not gotten one the past two years and I am high risk because of my job.
I had a really freaky thing happen today. A community organization that helps cancer patients gave my home phone number out to a patient and I came home to a message on my voice mail from a patient wanting to make an appointment with me and asking if I take her insurance. I have an unlisted phone number and guard it with my life! I can't believe they did that! I called the patient back and explained the mix-up, it wasn't her fault and gave her my office number. I'll have to call those people tomorrow and make sure they don't do that again. I don't even have my home phone number listed in my church directory! Deerod-if you want to check out a good low fat/low carb diet book, try the Fat Flush Plan. Since you work at home now, you might have time to actually do this. It is VERY structured. In case you hadn't noticed, I've read at least half the diet books in your local bookstore and somehow manage to keep them all straight, LOL. Remember, the most important thing is to find a plan you can actually stick with even if it doesn't necessarily give you the fastest results. Is 18 lbs a reasonable goal by Thanksgiving? Jennie-I'm not sure which one of us will make it to the 200 lb mark first. It's a pretty close race. (I'm just joking with you, I'm not really that competitive) Angel-so you bought the book? Hope you enjoy it. I think you see what I mean on the other thread about people being obsessed with the exercise portion and neglecting the rest of it. I wonder if they will get burned out on the exercise and then be disappointed because they missed the big picture? You will probably have to order Four Corners because it is not very well known unfortunately. Although I am a protein power girl, I don't think the book is very easy to read. It is what you would call "heavy on the science." Hope everyone else is having a good day. We haven't seen the turtle for a few days. Hope she returns soon. I bet the exercise **** would love Jillian's book. |
Curly....Curses on whoever took your kitty. I wish that I could have helped you look for her.
zoey |
Good morning PIC chicks. I'm usually not the first poster of the morning. Some yellow lab I know did not let me sleep very well last night. I"m not sure what his problem was. I'm having my yogurt smoothie and cappucino and trying to wake up before I have to go face 9 hours of patients. I have off on friday but this is going to seem like the longest week.
|
Hey Ladies,
I got up so early this morning. Last night I went to bed around 8:30. I read my son a book and fell asleep in his bed. So at 5:30 I woke up and was like oh well might as well get up and start my jog early. It was raining but that was my excuse yesterday for not doing it so I put on my rain jacket and went out in the rain. Once I got out there, it turned to freezing rain, then slushy snow. I couldn't believe it but I was determined to get my jog in. As I was jogging, the street lights kept going out so it was so dark. hmm....maybe I shouldn't go jogging in the rain j/k, in the end, it was OK, I came home and took a long hot shower and I'm feeling good for getting it done. Last night I made this caserole that was very yummy and everything in it was core, it was brown rice, ground turkey, beans, corn, peppers, eggs, ff cheese, and taco type seasonings. I think I just ate to much of it. On core, you want to feel staisfied, not full but I felt full. Needless to say I did not jump on the scale this moring like I ussually do. Today is my long work day, 2 jobs in a row. I have left overs of the casarole so I don't have to worry about where I'll grab dinner. Talk to you all later, Jennie |
Mornin' Ladies,
I am having some french vanilla cafe' with my peanut butter toast this morning. I will get out for my walk pretty soon. I think that I might haul my other computer out to the kitchen again and try some more to get it to boot. jennie....Good for you, that's the spirit, walk/jog no matter what, sleet, rain or snow! petra, I hope that your day goes by quickly with few snags. zoey |
Morning!!
Jennie.....YOU ROCK!!! Nothin's going to stop you...rain,sleet or snow!!! That is awesome. I bet it just charges you up for the whole day. Your casserole sounds devine! I made a pseudo deep dish pizza last night and it was devoured!! (6 pts) so no leftovers for me :stress: Petra..... 9 hours of patients, phew...that is a long day!! I hope you get the home phone number situation addressed today. I can't believe someone would give out your number in that situation, let alone an unlisted one!!! There's a reason its unlisted people!!! Deerod.....So MTV can be good for you!! who knew? :D The biggest loser is on tonight, a special 1.5 hour show. Are you into that one? I'm hooked. The girl trainer (jillian michaels) has a book out now called "winning by losing" and thats the book(thread) that Curly, Petra and I have been talking about. Quite the buzz. Well its 'cleaning out the closets' day. Time to sort through the boys clothes and either donate or pack away. Now that the weather has turned cooler, its the perfect time. Besides, I need to make room for the new clothes I bought on end of summer clearance. hehe...anyone else do that? I buy their new clothes for next summer NOW....pay only $2-$3 for really good designer/company stuff. Can't beat it. It kills me to pay full price for clothes that they grow out of so soon. Thankfully I've already been to the gym, so its clean the closets, make some homemade soup and dash to the library. Have a good day!! ps....TURTLE....come out come out wherever you are? Promise its not turtle soup. |
Hi Everyone!
Dee told me this was a cool support group so I thought I'd you you all out! I'm really glad to have found this site. Looking forward to getting to know you all. :) |
Hi Everyone..I did have WI yesterday and if you take both WI's..I am down 1.4lbs for the week.I will take that. LOL
I have renewed faith that I will lose the gain from the smoking. I am back on track. PEtra, Angel and Curly..where are you posting with Jillian? Welcome to all the newbies. Lisa |
I'm Baaaccckk! I was gone out of town for a week and then have been really busy. I have alot of catching up to do.
I took a little bit of time off from exercise (almost 2 weeks). When I went out of town I took my portable DVD player only to find out my DVD was broken. :( Then when I got back into town I just could'nt get back into it. I felt bad about it but apparently not bad enough. I did stay faithful to South Beach though. That is getting harder and harder. I'm not sure if I should just give in and get the cheating out of my system or not. I know how hard it is to get back on but I have been thinking about food non stop. Anyway's I am down to 203 as of last Friday. Not sure if I will hit onderland by Halloween but I doubt it. What day are we weighing? I have missed you ladies and will ttyl. |
Hi PIC Ladies,
I'm all sick and blah! Left work early yesterday and went shopping. I usually do that on Mondays cuz it's my weekend *doin the weekend dance*hehe.. anyways since I felt so ickky, I made horrible choices. Got the hubby cookies, Fritos and ice cream, and also got myself some sugarfree ice cream. Then decided on chicken nuggets and/or fish sticks and french fries for dinner.... and by the time I got home I needed campbells chicken noodle soup and soda crackers too... so needless to say I need to work on the ol' attitude. I'm not weighing in today cuz I'm not getting out of my jammies, so no trip to the dr office ;). My man had a little chat with me this morning about the treats I got him and from now on I won't be getting them for him anymore. He says he doesn't need them, and he doesn't want me to be so tempted. I think that's a good thing. So anyways, nice to see everyone. Especially VAL! Wow it's such a small world. To find an old friend on this huge internet! Actually she found me hehehe... I never really thought I'd run into someone I knew here. It's kind of exciting. I hope hubby decides to go to his meeting tonight so I can watch TBL! He thinks they put too much emphasis on weight alone so he doesn't like the show. He just doesn't understand the emotional ride I'm on while I'm watching it. blah blah blah...... Petra~ I have been following (Jillians) threads from the beginning. I always try to watch TBL and then check out all the posts. It is really exciting, and I see exactly what you're saying about people not seeing everything Jillian has to say, only what they want to take from it. MY bet would be it's because 'The Show' emphasizes the exercise issue constantly - almost exclusively, and really doesn't spend a lot of time on the emotional issues of why we eat the way we do, or even the basics of nutrition. (Just my opinion tho.) I'm being honest with myself for once tho and realize that hers is not the plan for me (at this time), cuz I know myself enough to know I'm not ready to devote that much time/committment to an exercise plan. (Jeeez that sounds so weak, but I'm being as honest with myself as I can be now). DeeRod~ One day at a time and if you fall, get back up and dust yourself off and Keep on Keepin' on! I look forward to seeing your posts :) Lisa_WY~ Good Job there lady! I'm thrilled to hear you're still smoke free!!!!!! And losing again too! Does life really get much better? Zoey, jennie, Curley, Angel Eyes, new and old P'sIC i may have missed- you're all in my thoughts and my prayers. :grouphug: |
