Good Morning!!!!

Today is my WI day..I am just not sure this week. Didn't get hardly any exercise in but I promised myself I will do better next week. Too much stress at work. I know I can direct my stress in a postive way by exercising. My plans changed a little bit for the weekend. My stepson and family are coming up today. Dh told them they could stay over if they wanted. I wanted to clean and get in some adult Ap's..doesn't look like that will happen..darn it. I didn't smoke until 12:30 yesterday and my day went downhill from there. My official quit date is tomorrow. I will be smoke free!!! I am giving myself a few days to adjust.

Jackie: Healthy baby is your biggest concern right now. Give yourself some time to adjust to parenthood then jump on the wagon. Think of all the fun you can have with the little one and including the baby in your lifestyle change. Nice walks with the stroller, rolling around on the floor, and when she starts walking chasing her everywhere. LOL Enjoy being mom. My wake up call is when my daughter went to kindergarten. I didn't want to be the fattest mom in the class. I didn't have baby weight(my daughter is adopted) but it was in a sense because of the stressful time we went through to adopt. Actually Monday is the 2nd anniversary of our adoption and we celebreate it.

Iwmonn: Dh =dear husband..darn husband... or dead husband(when you feel those special moments.LOL) Weight Watchers doesn't say EXERCISE..bad word. LOL They call exercise activity points=AP's. I am a big pusher of water. I really think it is the single best thing I have done to help me lose weight. I drink approx 150-200oz of water a day.I do not drink any pop anymore. DOn't even miss it. The only thing I have besides water is milk and 1 cup of coffee a day. My body craves water. Before WW(Weight Watchers) I had a horrible bout with kidney stones and kidney infection. That is what sent me to WW. Went to the doctor and I was a mess. The first week, I did it on my own and loss 6.5lbs. I figured my program needed tweaked so I started WW the very next Saturday. I have done WW before and was sucessful before until I went off the wagon and took me a while to come back. I have been on program for 19 weeks now. I have never missed a weigh in..have gone on vacation, and suffered through our Frontier Days (carnival fair) I have loss 44lbs. I have had only 1 gain and 1 maintain...normally I lose each week. Weight Watchers works. You can eat anything you want and it does teach you to eat a balance healthy amount of food. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies. If I go to McDonald's I plan for it and normally eat a kids meal..love the toy. LOL My family has benefited from my different cooking. My dh has loss about 15lbs without trying. My daughter eats tons of fruits and veggies but she did before I did WW.

Moon: How the heck are you? We missed you too. Jump back on with both feet and an open heart. You can do it girl!! We are here behind you!! You have nothing to lose but the weight. LOL

L2L: I am jealous.I want a new computer. LOL The one I am using now a friend sold it to me very cheap. IT has a 19" monitor..I would love a 21" so I wouldn't have to use my glasses. M has her own computer..my old one and Dh has my laptop which I begged for and now that I got it..I hate it. LOL You will be sucessful too. Just put your mind to it.

Petra: trying to find time to exercise is my downfall. I have been so tired after work this week. Mornings are not an option for me. Dh is gone for work before M and I even crack open an eye. I couldn't get her up at 5am to work out. The other thing is we go to bed so early..I can hardly stay awake to watch a tv show after 8pm. My day starts early and I probably could get it done before M gets up but normally that is my time to work on my part time job. I will start squeezing it in. I have to.

Turtle: Good for you for walking on the track. Becareful girl. The high school track is being used this time of year..I have the Y and on nice days I can ride my bike on the greenway. M and I still love riding our bikes but the weather will not hold up for much longer. I need to focus on doing things in the house during the winter. I hate winter. LOL

Jennie: Hope you are in your new place and comfortable in no time. I hate moving. It is hard when the family gives up the family home. My mom and dad moved 10 years ago..I still miss the family home. I knew I could always go back there...my mom has a nice house in Florida but it isn't the same. She really needs a condo or something where others can't move in with her anymore and wouldn't have to pay to have the yard done LOL I wished I could talk her into viisting me during fla's hot summers..she would love it here during the summer but she won't do it. Told her I would pay her to watch M during the summer and give her my van..

Curly: Great on the 8lbs for the challenge!!!! I am still hoping I make it. I know I can with hard work..more than I have been doing this last week. We will both be in onderland in no time.

Momx3: I am looking forward to kicking my addiction. I know I can do this. Being healthier for M is very important to me and the money I will save will help me pay off some bills. I WILL be successful.

Ok..I need to shower before WI. I will check back in later today.

LMAO too funny L2L "rolled down a hill, caught myself in a burr bush, ate a pint of Ben & Jerry's"

i am at work gotta make some money for the luxuries in life>>> ELECtricity...
geez i gotta get out of maryland my bill was 558.00 for this month!!!

and i have a 3 bedroom mobile home with no washer & dryer is that not insane???

Lisa_WY 09-24-2005 09:23 AM

Ok, I am back from WI...I am down another 1.6lbs. What amazes me...the two weeks I exercised my butt off..I maintained and only loss .6lbs.. The next 2 weeks I hardly exercise (really not fair to say that because it is mostly non gym exercise..I know I am moving more) and I lose 5.8lbs. I am so happy to see the scale moving in the correct direction. I weighed myself before I left the house. My scale is about 4lbs off from WW scale.

Curly: Slow it down girl. WOW $500 electric bill.. WOWWWWWWWWWWWW I complain when mine goes to $300 during the winter. They are saying 70% increases..told dh to get the sweaters and blankets out.. we are keeping the house cooler this winter and using our fireplace.

Ok..need to get moving. Talk to you all soon!

Hey Now!
Another day another.......day :) Thanks once again Lisa for the great pep talk. It's unbelievable the difference since coming here and reading and posting. It's like someone finally understands.

I broke down and had a cookie today :( But tomorrow I'm right back on my game! It was only ONE. I did maybe a little teensey bit better on the water today. Im going to keep on that one hard! I have my coffee in the morning and it usually takes me most the morning to drink it. I'm down to very little pop at all anymore... used to do 4-6 diet dr pepper a day. Now a 6 pak every month or so. I love my milk!!! but have been not drinking it with my dinner every night, depending on the carbs I'm eating. (or the carbs I've eaten during the day). I've been drinking a lot of kool aid lately though. I sweeten it with Equal so it's not all loaded with sugar at least, but I'm betting I can't count that as my water??? One can try can't one? heheheh.

Now about the exercise..... after a little tiff with my D(umb)Husband, i did take off for a walk. It wasn't very long. Maybe 3/4 mile at the most but it was walking. And a pretty brisk pace if I do say so myself. I used to do 3 miles in about 50 minutes and I was gone about 15 min so that's how I'm guessing at the distance. Anyway, I about got run off the road several times. If I'm gonna walk I can't wear my mp3 player with the speed demons on this road.

So, I hope you all have a great day! Keep on keepin' on!!!

Peace n outtie~~

Good morning Pic's!!!!

First off my weigh in is still 243 ! :cheer: geez I cant wait to the tackle the 30's ... then the 20's... the teens... and then ONDERLAND HERE I COME!!!!!!! Gonna "GET R'DONE!!!"

Sunshine: Howdy there!! sounds like u are doing great!!! we will get to onderland ... some day!

Iwmonn: Even small positive changes are great!! One day at a time... will eventually turn into months! Walking is great exercise.. I go to the Ladies workout express & i love it.. Its kinda like curves but they have 24 stations and u can go around as many times as u want! I found the poem... and it kinda reminded me of when i am stuck!

Lisa: I saw that electric bill and thought i was gonna pass out, then i remembered that they cut our health benefits& now i have an 800$ deductible on my medical insurance... so i couldnt afford to pass out! lmao..

Jackie: Just ease your self into the weight loss... i think 70% of it is mental... u gotta have your mind set and ready to begin an entire lifetime of healthy eating... as your little one gets bigger.. you will be able to get out and take her for a stroll... and be more comfy being mom... and ready to get er' done!!

Moon Ray: hi there!!! good to see u back...Give yourself a kick start and jump on back in!!

HAHA my quote for the day>>>> GET R' DONE!!!!

Petra: How is Kobe? Chai drinks and drinks all day long like a camel.. I guess he was thirsty after he chewed up my new box
of floor tile.. (sigh) Im with you tho i am sure this sounds selfish .. but DBF went to work for the corps of engineers @ 3 days before Katrina... if this keeps up I'll never see him.. not to mention he is sooooo busy with work havent heard much from him
HAHA every night i set my alarm... to get up at 5 and walk... umm why did they ever invent snooze buttons? lol
I am not getin R' done...

Momx3:I hope u are feeling better... ya dont feel upset with no loss..u could do what i do..lose.. gain stay stuck then lose
I know when you are feeling better you will "GET R' DONE" !!

Tea Elle Bee: you are just a whirling dervish... You are getting everything done! Just reading how busy u are makes me tired!!!

Angel: yeah it felt real good last month a friend said "wow u really are losing arent ya?" then i saw him this week and he said
wow u have lost more since i saw u last time!!! ( i was wearing my medium pants!!!!)Muffins & pictures.. now that sounds like FUN!!!

L2L: Hope things are starting to calm down for you... Its great to see u back! i laffed so hard when i read that fallin off the wagon story..
hang in there... you will GET R'Done!

MISS TURTLE: Hey!!! Way to get R' done... 2 miles u go girl! send some of that cool air this way! oh wait if i ever get the electric bill paid .. i wont have money saved up for heat LMAO I think i do better with my walks when its cooler out.. I cant handle the humidity..THe ball sounds cool... how is the rebounder going?

Jennie: "ouch" how is the hand doing? Ive been trying to add some joggin into my walking... hard to do when u have a pup who wants to cross in front of u! and i feel guilty leavin him home.. lol

Wishing all PIC's A happy day!!!

Lisa_WY 09-25-2005 09:12 AM

Good Morning!!!

Curly: Congrats..you will fly through the 230's and 220's. YOu are doing great!!! Our highest electric bill ever..and we have 4 bedroom house about 2600 sq. ft. was the first year we were here and we put up Christmas lights. I won't make that mistake again. LOL I about passed out when it was $500.00. They are saying our gas/electric will go up 70% this winter. I refuse to heat my house at those prices. We will use a lot of fire wood. We have a fireplace on both floors. We are really going to conserve.

Sunshine: WOW, You are really doing great! Glad to see you post. I have been doing great OP too. Next week I am hoping to hit the 50lb loss mark. Post more regularly..we miss you girl!!

Iwmonn: It is ok to have a cookie... if you plan for it and it only becomes 1 or 2..and not the whole package. LOL I find if I have something I really want every once in a while it makes it so much easier. I also find it easier during the week versus the weekend. My family today wants my famous sausage biscuits and gravy this morning. I will make it..really can't figure out how to do low fat. LOL but I will make sure I only have 1 biscuit and a little gravy. I don't deprive myself..I eat what I want but I make sure I get my exercise in. If I eat heavy at breakfast..I will have a lighter lunch or dinner. With WW they have a points system for all foods and I try to stay under my points for the day. I am more lack on the weekends but during the week... I COUNT EVERYTHING. Good for you in getting in a walk. It doesn't matter if you only went to the corner..next time go a little farther. Any movement is good movement.

Jackie: Baby fat is hard to get rid of..... you will do it.. Just take your time and develop a plan. I find if I have a plan..I am more sucessful.

L2L: I have a lot of junk in my trunk too. My thighs are getting smaller but I think they are going to be my "trouble" spot. I have strong legs but they are never going to be considered chicken legs. LOL I have noticed I have bones. LOL Yesterday I discovered my shin bones. I have neck bones that I haven't seen in years. LOL Dh laughs at me because when I see a new bone..... I am thrilled. Much to his dismay I have loss 3 bra sizes. LOL I can also see a difference in my ab area and it is coming back shapely.

Moon: it is ok to fall off the wagon..but now you are ready to get back on. Lean on us... post often and keep your mind clear and free of what you are going to do.

Petra: How is your weight loss going? I am glad your puppies had their check up. I am glad you are finding time to go to the gym. My goal this week is to get to the gym 4 times and other exercise 2 times.I will be succesful this week. I need to be successful. No listening to dh. LOL He can miss me for that hour..that is all I need and I am worth it. LOL

Ok.. I am going to get ready for church. M's teacher is playing trumpet at the other Lutheran church that is part of their school. We promised M we would go there this Sunday to hear her and their principal preach. We are looking forward to it. Our church is ok...and they have lots of children programs but our pastor is lacking and his family is miserable and don't want to be here. We have heard rumors they are leaving... in a way I hope so before more damage is done. The joke around town is our church has started more churches than any other. We stick it out....because of the other people involved with the church and we are comfortable there.

Everyone have a great day!! Stay OP. Get in your water!!! Get in some movement!!! Treat yourself good.
Hugs and Blessings,
Lisa

I took the baby to the mall yesterday to get her ears pierced. When we left the store I thought the did'nt look even but wanted to really check them out. When I got home I really looked and the are crooked so now I have to take her back and have them redone. So that's my plan for today.

I went to curves and did the elliptical for 35 mins. yesterday so hopfully I am getting back on track.

Curly - Do they measure you at Ladies Workout Express. I bet that you are losing alot of inches and hey that's even better than pounds!!

Lisa - Sorry to hear about the problems at your church but glad you have such a strong bond with everyone that you all stick it out.

Sunshine - Howdy girl.

Iwmonn - Baby steps on the exercise. One cookie won't hurt as long as you get right back up. You are doing great just work on the water.

L2L - Glad everything is getting settled with the family. Congrats on the new computer.

Jackie - Don't try to do to much to quickly you have just had a baby and I'm sure she keeps you busy.

Moon - I swear I was just wondering where you were a couple of days ago. Welcome Back.

Angel - I which the baby understood when it's the weekend. Does'nt she know her mom needs some sleep?

Have a great Sunday ladies.

Good Morning Divas !!

Another beautiful sunny day on the coast. I love this weather, when the sky is clear and there is a slight coolness in the air... ahhh fall !!

Just mowing down some breakfast and a coffee before I have to head off for school. Today we are covering Marketing.. so lots of theory stuff.. no numbers :(

I think Mom asked when this insanity would come to an end... how does June sound :dizzy:

The program that I am enrolled in is a Fast Track Program. It is made up of 21 modules and at the end I go through a 2 month prep class and then in June I write my designation exam (Certified Management Accountant). A lot of the work is done at home, and then on weekend I go to the college for a "tutorial" on one of the modules.

It is going to take a lot for me to hang tough till June, but it will so be worth it in the end and I will get to have initials after my name  Good thing I have hubby to take care of me and keep me grounded.

Lisa - congrats on the weight loss !!

Mom - how did the baby take getting her ears pierced.. I think they look so cute at that age.

Curly - you are getting it done girl !! Onederland will be here soon for you.

Iwmonn - good job at getting in some exercise !! Mmmm cookies, I have a hard time resisting a good cookie.

L2L - good to see you posting. I can always count on smiling when I read your posts.. and again you didn't disappoint !

MoonRay - glad to see you. How are things going, are you still taking classes?

Petra - mother nature is certainly playing havoc on the states.. i hope things start to get better real soon.

Jennie - sounds like you have been busy busy. Have you still managed to make it in for your WI ?

Angel - you are becoming the exercise queen !! I was mentioning to hubby yesterday that once school is done, if I spent the same amount of time at the gym as I did studying I would really get into shape.

HotCup - how's it going Ms. Turtle ?!?!? Did you decide to give the beach another go ?!?

Jackie - good luck with your journey. This is a great bunch of ladies and will get all the support that you need.

Hope I didn't miss anyone !! I better get in in gear. Hope you all have a great day and I will ttys.

Teri

TLB - After they did it she just sat there for about 4 or 5 seconds then I guess she realized it hurt and started to cry but that did'nt last for long. She got to go pick out something at the disney store. The ladies that did the piercing thought something was wrong because at first she did'nt react.
The earring are pretty pink sparkly flowers. Sooo cute. I am a little stressed about taking her back but I don't want them to not be right.

Welcome Tammy!! Great to have u join in with us!!! You know what u have to do....... just take your own healthy snacks!!!!

angel-eyes 09-25-2005 03:34 PM

Hi everyone!!!

So nice to see some new faces here. Welcome to Tammy and and not so new, sunshine and moonray!!! Post anytime you guys, whenever and whatever!!!

How is everyone's weekend so far? My big weighin is tommorow.....but the good news today, is that I'm wearing (and there loose) a pair of pants I haven't worn in about 2 years!!! :bravo: TA DA!!! I thought, hmmm, I wonder and THEY DID!!! :cb: When I first saw these in the store, I had my doubts as they are the low rider hipster pants and the zipper is so teny tiny, ...not even 4 " long!! And when you have a tummy bulge, well...you know. But they are very slimming and did I mention?...THEY FIT!!! :cp: I'm wearing them all day today to remind myself how far I've come in the short time I've been doing all this hard work and also to remind myself that I need to stay OP. Last night dh and I went to a neighbours bday party and although I budgeted my points , I wanted to have a piece of cake. :gift: mmmm, it was so good, but today I know its the straight and narrow. :nono: One piece of cake in the past has often led my to ditch a whole day of healthy eating.

petra65 09-25-2005 08:20 PM

Well.... Haven't we been a bunch of chatty Cathy's.

I thought I didn't have any weight loss to report this week but I did lose 1 lb. I think that gives me 6 for the challenge. I should be right about on schedule.

Nice to see some old faces reappear. Of course, you are welcome back Moon. The more, the merrier.

Curly, that electric bill is out of control. I don't think mine has ever been over $200 and I live in a 4 bedroom, 2 story house! That sounds like highway robbery!

Angel-congrats on the smaller pants. I love shopping in my closet. I wore an outfit I'd never gotten to wear before on Friday. I bought it on sale at the end of season when I was about this weight before and then gained before I ever had a chance to wear it. It sat in my closet for about 2 years. I still have one or two more in there I've never worn. I think they will be making an appearance soon.

Tammy-welcome. Your workplace sounds a lot like mine. I call all that stuff carbage! Like Curly says, I just take my own stuff.

I've been pretty much glued to hurricane coverage. Since I plan to live in Louisiana someday (my plan is about 5 years) I take this personally. Hopefully there won't be anymore serious storms this year. They need some time to recover. I'm grateful so many people evacuated this time.

curlylocks 09-25-2005 09:21 PM

:cheer: way to go Petra!!!!!! you are working right on down !!!

Oh and Petra.. the Maryland State Motto:" If you can dream it ...we can tax it"

I would say at least 40% of the electric bill is taxes & environmental fees.... oh and in maryland they even charge you a 25$ fee to pay the electric bills of those who dont pay their bill..??????

iwmonn 09-25-2005 11:03 PM

hiya ladies!!

Hope everyone is off to a great day! I'm thinking i'm on the later end of the posting scale since i don't usually get on line until 7 or 8pm on my workdays so most of you don't see this until tomorrow.

Today was another nice day for me. I even got in almost 2 quarts of water. I know I need more, and i will continue to work on it. Work was a pretty physical day. I got home and by the time dinner was ready, eaten, and cleaned up it was dark out and I was tired..... gotta get busy and find that video to work out with.
My sister called me today and I told her what I'm doing. She told me she's been doing WW now for a couple months. She's doing great. Has had significant loss and was really helpful with tips she's picked up too.... she's shooting for a 45 lb loss. We're going to talk more often lol. I told her she should visit here too :)

Tammy:  Welcome to you from a fairly new chickie here too! These are some wonderful, caring ladies! Good luck to you.

To everyone else - thanks again, and keep up the good works! :cheer:

I'm beat... Yeaaaa tomorrow is my Friday! I'm hoping to talk my hubby into going to the city this weekend so I can get a workout video and scale!!!!!! (and maybe look at new cars too ;) ) Oh yeah, I have my dr appt to WI this weekend too... :goodscale:

jackie56808 09-26-2005 05:46 AM

Thanks ladies...

Hello again...okay I just set up my exercize equiptment.."core secrets"..I so hope it will help me be a bit more active and what not...Yes right now I'm more focused on being a good mommy!!..So far so good!! :) ...I'm getting out more taking baby to the mall and what not just to walk around for a bit..Though I'm still working on my eating habits!! :( ...I always tend to tell myself "ok..I'll change what I eat the begging of next week..or tomorrow.."..and it seems like right now I'm not as mentally motivated as I should be...but I know I can do it!!!...Thank you all for such the warm welcomes..you all seem like such lovely people!!..I am yet to "really" get to know each and everyone of you folks!!...I'm so looking forward to it!!..I still haven't weighed myself since the last check @ 215Lbs..which was around 3 weeks ago..I don't own a scale yet..but I think it actually might be some help in motivating me!! :workout: ...(I'll look into buying one..lol)..Hopefully the next time I check in I will have made some progress in my weight!!...Well its time for my lare night shower..(while hubby has the baby..lol)...

ahhh!!!! Ok, I wrote this long reply then some how trying to attach a picture, closed the window. what a pain in the :censored: !
any way, I will kind of recap, but its so hard to rewrite things....
this week end was pretty busy. I ran my first 5 K! its called the Great Race, and it was so much fun. It is supposedly, the largest local race in the country. you can either do 10k or 5k I opted for the 5. the course goes through the city and down this large boulevard in to down town, and ends up in point state part which is where our three rivers come together into a point and there is a fountain there. it was lots of fun and got me very motivated. I ran int in 36 minutes and I'm sure if I had been workign out this past month like I had all summer, I could have been much fast. so I decided to just do it, no more excuses, I'm going to work out. But when will I find time? I was talking to my son's former preschool teacher (who had also been my teacher) and she noticed i had lost some weight. She has had the bypass surgery and is still struggling. Her daughter, has been losing with out the surgery and she said as busy as she is, she gets up every moringin at 6 and does her work out. So that is what I am going to do. It is so worth it to me to get up early and get it in. If i have no other time in the day that is when I am going to do it. This week, I am going to push my self and see how it works out. I got up today and went for a jog in the rain, I think it was about 2 miles. So I can do it, I just have to push my self.
I am also going to geat back on the journaling wagon. I've sliped off of that one and I know I havn't been eating right.
I've got to get back to work but hello to all the new folks, and the returning ones.
I'll talk to you all later.
Jennie
ps, this is a pic of my friend from WW, my meeting leaders, and my self at the end of the race. The WW leader wanted us to wear ribbons that said WW but we were like um no thanks!

curlylocks 09-26-2005 10:01 AM

jENNIE: DID you ease into the jogging or just start jogging? what i mean is at first did u walk a little and jog a little? and at what weight did u start jogging?

I ve been tryin to add spurts of jogging into my walks.. but i am wondering if i should wait till i get to a lower weight or JUST DO IT! lol thanks!

angel-eyes 09-26-2005 12:23 PM

Good morning ladies!!!

How is everyone today? Not sure of my weigh in today as everytime I stepped on the scale, the weight was a different number. Actually it could be time for a new one as the pounds varied for up to 5lbs.....bah, those digitals!!! I'll try again later, or?...I suppose I could just take the lightest one right? LOL :D

Well, we did it!!! Finally made our vacation plans. Dh got approval (finally) for next week and we web surfed and came up with a great getaway to Colorado Hot Springs. :cb: oooohhh aaaahhhhh, I can feel those bubbly hot springs taking away alll those aches and pains!!! LOL Its been awhile since we've actually 'got to go away' rather than do day trips and odd jobs around the house taken care of. We plan to do alot of hiking and sight seeing as we've never been out that way before. I'm thinking alot of AP'S used up. I didn't realize that both pets need their annual vaccinations, so I'm scrambling to get all of those done before we leave on Oct 1st! Speaking of Oct 1st....this will be a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary, 17 years!!! :wizard: who knew? haha...actually I can't believe its gone by so fast. Hope everyone has a great day....I've got to run to the vets office. tc

jennie934 09-26-2005 06:08 PM

Hey gals,
Curly, I did a program called couch to 5 K, its starts off with really small amounts of jogging, and mostly walking and they give you work outs for I think 8 weeks totaly and each week you build up your jogging time. The idea is that people try to jog right away and have a hard time and give up so you do it very slowly. I was worried about my weight but just decided to do it and lose weight doing it. I will look for the link and send it to you if I can find it.

Angel, that sounds like a nice vaca, have fun.

OK, off to cook dinner,
Jennie

curlylocks 09-26-2005 07:22 PM

thanks ! for the info I think i have that link... thats where i got the idea about adding the jogging in to my walk!

sounds like a really good program!

HiHo Girls,

Hope everyone had a wonderful day today! Mine was good again. It's kind of funny how my mood has been affected by my decision to change my lifestyle. I seem to be less stressed and happier. One of my friends even mentioned it to me the other day.

Way to go Jeannie! 5K in 36 min is awesome. Heck, 5K is awesome no matter how long. woooHOOOO. great pic btw. 3 ladies looking very proud. :)

Jackie~ You just concentrate on learning mommie-ing. That's a huge job in itself. Soon enough your mental motivation will happen. Then the sky's the limit! Heh, I haven't weighed in almost 3 weeks either. I don't won a scale altho i'm looking for one tomorrow. I think it's kind of been good too. If I had weighed myself, and lost a good amount I may have been more tempted to tell myself it's ok to indulge once (twice, three times.... yikes). lol.. I weigh in on Wed afternoon.

Curley~ if you decide to add the jogging, keep us posted. If you find it too difficult at first, have you thought of adding speed walking?

Angel-Eyes~ My sister told me her dr told her to paint feet on her scale. That if your stance is different on the scale each time, the weight can differ significantly. YOur vacation sounds heavenly!!! My reward to myself (when i reach 1/2way to goal) will be a complete spa day. Told hubby last night lol... and he actually said ok!!!

Howdy All,
I am at 36 hours smoke free. Yesterday was a very tense day for me. LOL I tried to keep my snacking under control and ate a lot of 1 point snacks. I did go to the Y and exercise yesterday afternoon and feeling pretty good right now.

Angel: Where in Colorado are you going? My favorite Hot Springs is in Thermopolis, WY. I would love to go there during the winter and have a romantic getaway. LOL Dh and I have been to Steamboat Springs..um..the hot springs there afterdark were clothing optional. LOL We went during the day. LOL We are going to the Colorado mountains this weekend to visit Dave's son and see the fall leaves change. Should be a lot of fun. How far do you live from Colorado? I am only 12 miles from the Colorado border.

Iwmonn: I have always said, your lifestyle change is more mental than physical. When I am OP I am a lot more happier and content.

Jennie: That is wonderful on the 5k. We only have 5k's during the summer months. I am hoping next year I can do it. I thought about trying to jog on the threadmill yesterday at the Y. I might try next time..just couldn't get up my nerve yet.

Jackie: DO NOT BUY A SCALE!! I will be the first to admit..I am scale addicted. I will weigh myself about 20 times a day. My weight flucuates about 10lbs during the day. Not only will I weigh myself at home, I have a scale at work. The only weight I officially change is my official WI on Saturday at WW. IT really can drive you crazy.

Curly: What I was doing early this summer at the high school track was walking the curves and jogging the straights. My shins did not like jogging on really hard surfaces but did ok on the track(it has some kind of rubbery material on it) . I am hoping they don't bother me on the threadmill. I think you can start jogging at any weight... if you have a problem with bouncing girls.. wear 2 bras...that really helped me. I wear an underwire and a sports bra over it.

Petra: Congrats on the 1lb. YOu are getting there!!! I have been watching a lot of the coverage too. So very sad.

TEB: Take it easy with your schedule. Make sure you get in a little ME time. Even if it is only 5 minutes a day in the shower screaming. We all need that. Keep us updated.

Tammy: I am not sure I welcomed you. I take all my own food to work. Lots of fruits and veggies. Water is really good for you.

Ok..everyone I need to run and get M up for school. I would love to go to the gym today but that is not happening. Tonight M has dance class. Maybe her and I can ride bikes tonight. I will check back in later.

Good Morning everyone!!

Way to go all you losers!!! Just for charting purposes.....I maintained. I weighed myself again this morning, (just once...lol) and it was the same as last week, 222. So thats a good thing as I was a little snacky yesterday and had a few more carbs than I normally have.

Lisa......We are going to a resort in Glenwood Springs called Hot Springs Pool. I believe its about 3 hours outside of Denver. It says (and I believe everything that I read....) that it has the world's largest hot springs pool with over 1 million gallons. But then every small town has their world's famous coffee right? The drive itself from MO is about 14 hours. So not so bad. We are soooo excited!!!

Gotta run to kickboxing.....I'll be back later on to write more and give personals a respond. tc

Hi guys. I'm still alive. I even went to the gym yesterday morning at 5 am. Kobe woke me up at 4:30, so I thought, what the heck, I"m already up. The problem with that is that I am completely beat by about 7:30 pm. We'll have to see how things work out. I'm thinking, maybe after the time change, I may be able to get in the habit of morning workouts.

I haven't heard from the vet yet about Kobe's lab work which is unusual. Hope I hear something tomorrow.

I got some low carb bake mixes in the mail and decided to make one tonight. I made the chocolate walnut brownie one. If you make it with splenda it comes out to 9 grams of carbs, 2 of fiber per serving. These are actually good. I'd give them a B+ The last low carb brownies I tried were terrible if anyone remembers. Unfortunately, this company doesn't tell you the protein content of their mixes. I also got a blueberry pecan pancake mix and a cranberry poundcake mix.

curlylocks 09-27-2005 08:04 PM

ive been trying those south beach meal replacement bars.. they arent tooo bad.. i cut them up into small servings rather than use it as a meal replacement

iwmonn 09-28-2005 12:02 AM

Hey Now,

Change of plans :(.. We didn't go into the city today so no scale and no workout video until next week. Then my nutritionalist called and had to reschedule my appt tomorrow until next week also . I'm going to go to the dr office and weigh myself tomorrow anyways. So hopefully I'll have something good to post for my first report.

So... i decided to lounge in bed and read this morning lol... then got up and made b'fast (pancakes & eggs for hubby, eggs and a slice of flax toast for me :) )... then spent most of the day cleaning my car, getting it ready for sale. I found some old tapes and really got into listening to them. (yes, i'll fess up to you all, I'm an ol' Deadhead lol). I've gotta figure out how to get them onto my mp3 player now. I used to play them on my walkman while walking around Greenlake.

Anyways, I'm getting some water down now... still not enough I'm sure, but it's better than a week ago. Exercise is still a problem... one that I need to stop whining about and just get going on. Tomorrow I pledge to walk. and while I'm making admissions and pledges I admit I've been lax on my eating. :nono: Not a lot, but enough that I feel it's going to make a difference. So I pledge to stay just a little closer to my instincts about what i should really be eating. ok? Thanks Ladies........

Lisa: :cp: Congratulations and a huge high five for your 36 hours without nicotine! Bite the bullet gf or get some gum lol. Think how much easier your workouts will be when you have clear lungs.

Angel eyes: :hat: good job too on maintaining. Kickboxing sounds like fun.... ........Maybe someday

Petra: Hope you get good news about your pup. I'm curious, what brand were your mixes. I'm always interested in a new product for the store ;)

curlylocks 09-28-2005 06:33 AM

OK if Petra can workout at 5 am !!!! so can I! lol just kidding... but you did inspire me not to hit the snooze button this morning... and chai and I went for a 3 mile walk at 530 am :)

i think this will be good for him & me too! I know he must get bored at home all day... so maybe this will tire him out a bit! and Rev up the ol metabolism for me.... AHHHHHH I want those 230's so badly!

lol i was just lookin at my ticker... I have lost the same amount of weight that chai weighs woooo hoo

have a great day Pic's

Lisa_WY 09-28-2005 07:59 AM

Good Morning...Fall is in the air. A little cool on my side of the world. But we are in a warming trend. I don 't think September has ever been so warm since I moved here. We normally see the "s" word by now. Don't jinx me. LOL

Ok..I am still smoke free!! I felt a little snacky yesterday and really need to watch that. I am giving myself a slight break and allowing myself extra snacks to get me over the hump. Not an excuse but if I gain this week..I will be ok with it because I think the not smoking is more important for this week. I have exercised everyday since Sunday. Today is supposed to be a gym day but M has parents day at gymnastics so I will do Richard tonight. I did his no if..ands...or butts. video last night. It was ok..but not high impact..but an ok work out. I probably should of teamed it up with WATP video and might next time.

Anyone watch the Biggest Loser last night. It was the first time I have seen it. Thought it was ok but felt they should of shown more of "how" they were doing it. Some of the loses seem huge but I have noticed that many times the first week or second week of any program the numbers can be big. I think if all I had to do was focus on my WL..I probably could lose 4lbs a week. I do wonder about the fact everything is felt on the scale...maybe they should do measurements one week. LOL

Curly and Petra, I get up early anyway..I should do my exercise then but I like doin it in the evenings. But great to you for doing it. Curly: YOu have loss a chai and I have lost a Mallissa. LOL Hard to imagine losing a 5 year old.

Iwmonn: I can't chew gum..besides my dentist would kill me. LOL Too much $$$$ in my teeth anyway. I am going to get a filling on Friday..I am going to have to have him check another tooth..it has been bothering me every since they cleaned my teeth. I think they losened my filling. I am also going to "chew" him out about when he pulled my tooth last month. HeI discovered it after a week.

Angel: You will be about 2 hours from my stepson and 4 hours from me. That part of Colorado is nice this time a year and you should be able to see the fall leaves. That is why we are going this weekend. Enjoy your time away.

Turtle: WHere are you????????????????????? Out of the shell!!! Or we are going on a hunt!!!

Jennie: How are you today??????????

Momx3: Where are you????????????

Deerod: Where are you???????????? Please check in with us!!!!

Sunshine: How are you doing?? Can't post and leave again. LOL Inquring minds want to know.

Moonray: How are you too??

Tammy: POst so we can get to know you better!!

Jackie: Figure out your plan of attack? How is the baby?

TEB: Taking time for you?

Ok..I have to get ready for work. I am staying OP and non smoking. Worst thing...I have a head cold today. My sinsus' are playing havic and my throat is sore..sort of funny...when you think..I probably wouldn't of complained if I was smoking. LOL

Lisa: they dont give any of the "how too's" on the show because they have set up a "biggest loser club" and you have to pay to join to get that info.... its all about the Benjamins... $$$$

angel-eyes 09-28-2005 09:22 AM

Good Morning all my PIC's !!!

Curly......eye eye eye!!! Great job on the early morning walking!!! Lets see? at 5:30 am I too was fully awake but chose to roll around in bed trying to find the cool spot. Dh is away so I have the whole bed, its mine its mine!!! hahahahaha I did manage to fall back to sleep so I guess I needed the extra zzzzz's.

Petra.......Any news yet about your dog's test results? Not sure why it would take that long. Good job on the early morning workout yesterday. I've seen "no pudge" brownie mix in the grocery stores around here. Its an 'only add yogurt' mix. I love finding and trying out new products.

Lisa.......CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NOT SMOKING!!!! WOOHOO!!! :cheer:

I can't wait to go on our vacation. Since we've lived down here in the States (4 yrs) I have been CRAVING (BIG TIME) the cooler fall weather!!! hahaha...bet you thought I was going to say some sort of favourite food!!! But NC and MO are a little too hot for my liking. We got married amidst the fall leaves, and cooler temps. I have boxes and boxes of turtlenecks and sweaters that I haven't even unpacked yet since moving from Canada. WOOHOO.... :cb: And about the biggest loser show?....you should have seen the first episode when some of the guys lost 24-29 lbs each!!! and that was in 10 days!!!! That is crazy!!! I suppose working out 24/7 is the ticket though, heck if I had nothing else to do......**sigh** nope, its not possible. Slow and steady is my motto.

iwmonn,........We take these pledges seriously you know!! ;) So be sure to get that walking in and lots of water. Preferably not together unless you know where all the restrooms are!!!

Well its that time of day now......COFFEE TIME!!! :coffee: One son off to school and the other one is still cutting zzzzz's. He's my little sleeper, always has been, he needs a good 11-12 hr sleep. I wish!!! Have a good day everyone. I'll be off to the gym soon also.....hey Lisa? gotta get that workout in!!!

iwmonn 09-28-2005 01:48 PM

Good Morning Ladies,

I got up at a decent time this morning and washed the outside of my car. So hopefull now, I can sell it and off we go to the Honda dealer. I want a new CR-V soooo bad lol. Anyways, I'm going to stop at the dr on my way back from my walk so i'll be posting later. Hopefull with some good numbers!

Lisa~ He pulled your tooth and you didn't find out til a week later?? Wow he's gooood, lol. Keep it up on the non smoking. I believe it really is the single best thing you can do for your body! And if you have to have the extra snacks, then have them. You obviously know the boundries what you can have, or not have. And you really have such a great mind-set about all of it! Take care of yourself so that lil cold doesn't get worse.

I've watched The Biggest Loser and I get pretty emotional sometimes. I really don't care for most of the challenges as I feel they can be somewhat degrading.... The first one I saw last year the losers had to get in and out of a race car- through the window. There have been others, but this was the one that really stuck in my mind. It is good (for me) to see others who I can relate to though, and you kind of get the feeling you know the people, and share in their happiness and pain. I enjoy the show for the most part... but I don't usually watch it exclusively- it's on the same time as Dr. Phil, hahahaha, so I do a lot of channel flipping.
I was really glad to see Nick voted off this week as his attitude was pretty "sucky". He just thought he was ALL THAT and ya know what?? I don't think he really was lmao.

Angel eyes~ I know how serious you ladies are, and that is the main reason I posted my pledges. If I hadn't I might be tempted to procrastinate one more day lol.... I need to be held accountable now more than ever as i'm starting to lose my motivation. I plan on heading to the beach this afternoon. it's a nice hike from the highway and It's sooo pretty out today :)

Curley~ Yikes! It's still dark @ 5:30 lol... Good for you and I bet Chai loves it too.

Jennie~ gotta love those all day meetings ...not. lol

Here's to hoping ya'll are having a wonderful day

Dee~ :dizzy:

Hi ladies. I was a littel bummed about not losing last week but I had my weigh and measure at curves yesterday and I have lost so I must have been retaining water. I will post my weight on Friday. And I added up the inches I have lost since starting on 4/25 and I have lost.......
21 inches

I have not been around as much as I would like because I think I am feeling kind of overwhelmed and need to take a step back. I miss you guys though!!

Lisa - I am so so so proud of you for not smoking.

petra65 09-28-2005 02:59 PM

Hi there. I have only watched one of those biggest loser shows and only part of it. I'm really not into reality TV in general. My general impression was that it was sort of hokey. Do they follow up to see if people keep the weight off? The part I thought was really dumb was that everyone knows men can lose faster than women because they have more lean muscle mass and a higher metabolic rate so as long as they are actually working at it, the men should be winning every week. It isn't a fair competition (unless they make some sort of allowance for this that I am unaware of).
They have a more reasonable show on the food network. I don't remember the name but it is hosted by Juan Carlos Cruz. It follows 3 people over 3 months while they are still going to work and doing their regular lives. It tries to teach them better eating habits and how to make exercise a regular part of their lives and sets reasonable goals like losing 25 lbs in 3 months. It also shows them struggling with making those major lifestyle changes in a real life setting. The biggest loser show takes place in such an artifical environment, how can anyone relate to it? The only thing I don't like about the Food Network show is that they act like the only way to lose is on a low fat/low cal diet. The Food Network actually has a show by a low carb chef who has lost over 200 lbs and I think they should let Juan Carlos Cruz(the calorie commando) and the low carb chef (George Stella) take turns hosting the weight loss show since their contribution is showing the people who are trying to lose, how to change their eating habits to something healthier. I'm sure it's all about production money.

curlylocks 09-28-2005 05:36 PM

Petra with the men & women this time they are doing a % of body weight lost ... not actual pounds..

so far the ladies have won every weigh in!

iwmonn 09-28-2005 06:24 PM

Hi again,

Well I'm back... and my motivation is renewed! I know I could have lost more then 6.5 lbs, but I'm still so happy that I could do it at all. I about broke into tears again- happy tears mostely, a little upset cuz I would have loved to lose more. On the up side again, I do know now that with regular exercise, and getting that water in along with sensible eating I really truley can do it. I also found out I've been misrepresenting that all important start weight... i was still in denial (of 1 lb) lol...
Question: when you have a 1/2 lb in that loss are you all posting that up or down? because my actual weight was 234.5.

I left the dr office and walked about 20 min, then checked everywhere in town for an exercise video... with no luck. So I still have to wait a week for that... I dread that drive into the city lol...

Momx3~ 21 inches yayyyy!!

Anyhoooooo, thanks for the support and i'll visit again later :)

curlylocks 09-28-2005 08:31 PM

MOMx3: 21 inches !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
iwmonn: way to go girlie!!!
