blah... just waiting for 5 o'clock to get here!! I am taking monday off.. mental health day... tho i still have to work tomorrow... i see the scale is doing the up and down thing on me again... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! hopefully by monday it will be down!

ok clock speed up!

angel-eyes 09-09-2005 03:26 PM

Curly......get off that darn scale!!! :nono: You are going to drive yourself crazy with it, just do your best and wait until your weighin day. Why are we sooo scale obsessed? We should be asking ourselves.....how do we feel today? are we eating OP? did we get all our nutrients in....protein, fibre, water, fruits? are my clothes feeling loose? geez, I hate when it comes down to a numbers game!! gosh...sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now :soap: LOL

Hotcup.....hehe, you mentioning the winter stetson and the cute little trooper icon...makes me think of Celebrity Fitclub with Drill Sergeant Harvey!!! :drill: Just don't start barking orders at me!!! lol

Lisa.....Just reading your post made me tired!! lol.... I like to get alot done too in the morning. Dh got home last night from an overnighter, so I stayed up chatting to him. Mornings before schoot stuff is always my most productive times. I am also done with my laundry and?.... all put away!!!

I headed to the gym again this morning, and although I completed the stepclass was almost ready to toss in the towel. The routine this morning was quite the challenge with alot of new steps I had never done before. Obviously others thought so too because we started with 6 members and then by halfway, there was only 2 members (myself and Miss Fitqueen who always adds the high intensity to any move). She's sort of like Hotcups sister...the excercise ****. Yoga was interesting as well. More moves I had not done and couldn't for wrist reasons (carpal tunnel) no way on earth I can do the downward dog ,table top and salutation sun. uh uh...no way. E for effort though, as I stayed the whole class. Yeah for me!! Whats everyone having for supper tonight? I think we're doing porkchops. yum yum with applesauce!!

curlylocks 09-09-2005 05:01 PM

HAHA that reminds me of the Brady bunch........ PORK CHOPS AN APPLE SAAAWS (thats how they said it) I guess i better eat up some of that chili i made... when i get back from my workout...

yeah i am scale obsessed... but it really doesnt bother me i know i will fluctuate... BUT i also know that when i make my goal i am gonna have to stay scale obessed .. cuz i lost from 322 down to @ 180 and it all snuck back on me... this time its not comming back!

Lisa_WY 09-09-2005 05:19 PM

TGIF and almost time to go home!!!

Angel: I never said I put it away. I have 10 laundry baskets in my huge laundry room..they never make it back upstairs. LOL Good for you for sticking with the class..I have my gym stuff packed and going afterwork although I am tired..still going to do it..yup..I am.

Petra: Post the reciepe. I might try it during the holidays..20 grams of fat..wow! I can have a little little piece. LOL

Turtle and CUrly: we are scaled obsessed. I can't keep my big butt off of it either. Driving me crazy... it still says I gained this week..YIKESSS. I have exercised my butt off too. Don't know what that is all about..I will keep on keeping on.

Ok..I have an hour and 10 minutes left..Please go quickly.

petra65 09-10-2005 10:49 AM

Okay, you asked for it. This is George Stella's Cheesecake recipe. He's the low carb chef on the Food Network. Notice this cheesecake does not have a crust. I made one out of ground nuts but you can do whatever you like. You will have to make the crust first, bake it in the bottom of the pan and let it cool.

24 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup extra fine ricotta cheese (process in food processor for 1 minute)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups Splenda
1/3 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 large eggs
3 large egg yolks
1 8 inch springform pan

Place rack in center of oven and preheat to 400. Spray the springform pan with cooking spray.

Make a water bath so the top of the cheesecake won't split as it bakes: Pour about 1 inch of water into a shallow roasting pan beg enough to fit the springform pan into and place it in the oven to preheat.

With an electric mixer on low, beat the cream cheese, ricotta, sour cream, and sugar substitue for about 1 minute until well blended.

In a separate bowl, whisk the cream, vanilla, lemon juice, eggs and egg yolks until well blended.

With mixer on medium, slowly pour the egg mixture into the cream cheese mixture. Beat just until blended; be careful not to overwhip.

Pour the batter into the greased springform pan. Place the pan in the heated water bath. Bake for 15 minutes at 400, then lower the oven temperature to 275 and bake for an addition 1 1/2 hours. The cake should be a light brown on the top and be pulling away from the sides when it is done. Turn the oven off and leave it in the oven to cool for 3 hours (this will prevent the cake from falling) Then remove the cake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving. Cut into 12 slices.

This cheesecake tastes so good, you wouldn't know it is sugar free. I checked it on my points finder last night. It's 6 points per slice without the crust!

I went to power yoga this morning. Angel, I hate to say this, but you miss a lot of the class if you can't do the sun salutation. That's sort of the "meat" of the class. Maybe you should ask the instructor for modifications for your wrists.

I need to work on my Internal medicine module today. I've been procrastinating on this for some strange reason which really isn't like me. I only have 20 questions to go but it is due by the end of this month so I really need to get it done.

Hotcup-are you sticking to your program and gaining?

Louie 09-10-2005 11:04 AM

Good Morning Partners.

Had a quick minute while I'm enjoying my morning :coffee: so thought I best check in.

I am off to school today, 9-4, and then off to a BBQ. Tomorrow I have school from 9-12, then I have to go into work. I worked for about 11.5 hours yesterday (that's management for ya !!) and have to go in on Sunday to finalize some info for a big wig meeting on Monday. So I am sure by tomorrow night I will be ready to crash on the couch.

Otherwise things are going well and I am just plugging along.

Petra - the cheesecake sounds yummy, thank you for sharing the recipe.

Hope everyone has a great spooktacular WI this weekend. I had a sneak peek at the scale and it doesn't like me this week... although I can probably blame TOM for that !!

Okay I must go have that all important first meal of the day and get my butt off to school.

Have a great day !!

momX3 09-10-2005 11:18 AM

Morning Everyone. Sorry I have not been around alot. The kids started back to school and this tends to make my schedule alot more difficult. I am going to chucky cheese today for my nieces B-Day party so I have to eat before I go (I love pizza).

I weighed myself this morning because I forgot to yesterday and I am down to 216 which is 1 pound for last week but TOM has come to visit so hopefully when I get on next week I will be happier.

I did Tae Bo on Wednesday to mix things up a little and spent Thursday morning in the chiropractors office  . So Thursday no exercise but 65 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. I don't think I am going to go to curves today because my back is still bothering me and I don't want to make it worse so I will do the treadmill again or take the baby for a walk later.

I hope everyone is doing well and I will talk to you ladies more later as I have to go make sure the baby is not into anything.

jennie934 09-10-2005 04:05 PM

Hi Ladies,
just a quick check in, I'm packing and movie packing and moving and myson in a retaliation is making a mess in every move I finish. so then I have to clean and force him to help. ahhhh....no fun!
I'm gonna go to my ww meeting and just not look at my weight until next time. I dont' think I can face it.
OK, talk to you all later,
Jennie

petra65 09-10-2005 06:56 PM

I was mostly a good girl today. I did 10 more of my questions today and ran some errands. I got some more fabric samples in the mail to look at for my dog proof furniture so hopefully I'll be able to order that sometime this week. I've been struggling with my eating too lately. I've been having a few too many carbs per day but not necessarily eating illegal foods. I need to get a handle on that soon.

angel-eyes 09-10-2005 08:21 PM

Hi PIC'S !!!

How was everyone's day so far? I headed out to the gym also today but alas missed the classes. :nono: Thats okay, the treadmill is good for me also. :tread: I walked a total of 40 minutes with...**drumroll please**,.... another 10 minutes of running!!! This is a milestone for me, as I'm not that light on my feet. But to tell you the truth, I put on a great disco cd and the beat just made me want to run. Do you all remember Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive" ? :cb: After the gym, we went to a civil war re-enactment including campsites and a battle. The cannon's booming was a bit too much, but the boys just loved it.

I had another little mini success,....who loves Costco? Well, we went just in time to sample (I was hoping they had stopped so we could just shop) but every isle still had those darn women!!! :fr: The boys feasted.....ravioli, smoothies, chicken wings, chips, chicken pot pie, halloween candy.......and the whole time, I didn't have one little sample!!! :cp: WOOHOO for me!!! All I thought about was, "do I really want this for all those extra pts?" hehe, then came home and had a nice yogurt. Nice to see everyone here today and I'm also expecting TOM on Monday.....anyone want him? no really, I can skip him anytime!!!

Lisa_WY 09-11-2005 12:20 AM

Howdy All,
WOW! I had a busy busy day! Started off with WI this morning. Last night I decided I didn't have enough time to go to the gym before we left for the farm so I decided to ride my bike to WI. IT would of been ok but the wind kicked up...and I had a rough time coming home, then my petal decided to come apart..not an easy trip..I made it home..lucky the last 1/2 mile is ALL DOWNHILL! We did fix my bike. :-) WI...I loss .6 lbs....a little more than 1/2 pound. Can't change my tracker..DANG IT!!! I was disappointed..I am working so hard on activity points.. where is my results..dang it! I know it will come..I have to be patient. I am losing inches.

Anyway...we went to the farm and we went to McD's before we left..ummm..I wasn't OP today..but that is ok..I will be tomorrow... I honestly feel you can do that every once in a while and jump back on and you will be fine. Probably wrong attitude..so if I gain next week and whine..you can tell me about it. LOL

We got a ton of veggies!! Anyone know what to do with hot peppers?? I did go down the big slide 3 times with M..she loved it and I had a blast. In our group..I probably got the dirtest. LOL I was so embarresed when we went to Cracker barrel for lunch. My shirt had dirt on it and not just a little bit. LOL Then we went to Target. I did buy me a new pair of capris..actually 2 pairs..one was in a juniors.. umm..didn't know they sold them that way. Good news I could get them zipped but they are not as roomy as the other pair. I also bought some jammie sets.. one has Curious George on them...LOL THey are an XL..not a XXL. LOL They fit fine..the other pair I got real cheap.. $5.00 for shirt, pants and boxers. LOL I love them..they are made out of tshirt material. I also bought a cheap tshirt to change into. LOL

We had a blast today and I am exhausted. I will check in with everyone tomorrow and do personals. We are having a pig roast at church..not sure we are staying for it..I think Dh wants to come home and make stew. I sort of agree with him.

Hugs and Blessings,
Lisa

curlylocks 09-11-2005 08:10 AM

i have a pair of capri's that are size 19 juniors .. i love them the 20's are too big but the 18's are still too small... I bought them off ebay and asked the girl who sold them where she found them... she said walmart but the walmart here doesnt carry the size 19..

i bought some size 18 old navy jeans but cant get my butt into them yet... well i can just cant zip them up and breathe at the same time... lol

p.s. dont feel bad about your loss... looks like i have gained even tho i stayed OP all week.. i swear it seems like the scale goes down when i eat more..

petra65 09-11-2005 11:03 AM

I stayed the same this week but my eating has been less than perfect so I suppose I know how that happened. I'm just happy I didn't gain.

My day got off to a rough start. I have invisible fence for the dogs and this morning Buddy ran out into the street and attacked another dog walking by with it's owner on a leash. Fortunately, the other dog wasn't seriously injured. He had a scratch about a 1/4 inch on his nose but I felt terrible about it. Buddy will run through my fence sometimes for unclear reasons--usually after male dogs walking by. I guess a territorial thing. I think this started after he had cancer so I think it may have something to do with him having a high pain tolerance. I called the fence company and left them a message that they need to do something about this, like increase the shock on his collar because I can't have him doing this again. I'm going to get a new battery for him today whether he needs it or not just to be sure.

Hopefully my day will get better.

Hotcupojava 09-11-2005 11:07 AM

Morning

Hello and welcome week end (well, it's MY week end). The Mountaineers won big against Wofford (the terriers of SC) and it was a very stressful night in the radio room for me. I got pretty cranky with people and I ate two small bags of pretzels (what I didn't have to share with Patrick). I felt bloated and huge last night and still feel that way this morning. I slept in and noticed my power was off. Hmm

I'm going to have my coffee and play on line a bit and then I'll start some chores. I plan on getting a lot done around the house and maybe throw some things together for the upcoming yard sale. Curly, I don't believe I have Kiss The Girls. I did have Along Came a Spider, but I don't see that one. I must have sold them last year.

I hope everyone has a peaceful, relaxing Sunday. I toyed with the idea of packing a bag and going down to see Jay, but I think I'll spend my week end alone. I know I'd have a good time, but I can't justify spending that much on gas to turn around and come right back (Squeak needs her daily meds).

I'll write more later. I know I ask every day, but when is our offical Spooky weigh in?

curlylocks 09-11-2005 11:10 AM

mine is gonna b spooky 4 sure!!!

momX3 09-11-2005 12:05 PM

I ended up going to curves after all. I felt guilty about missing Thursday. It was'nt as bad as I thought it was going to be and I actually feel good today except for my toe. My big toe has been sore after walking (and jogging) on the treadmill. So yesterday ds and I were moving the couch and he pushed it up onto my toe OUCH!!! Last night I thought I would cut my toenail to see if it helped and when I did blood came rushing out!! :censored: If it's not one thing it's another.

Hotcup - Just weigh yourself on your regular day and post your results. I think we all have different days.

jennie934 09-11-2005 05:58 PM

Hi everyone,
well I went to my meeting. I couldn't find my book, I know it has to be around but I just don't know where. Luckily I always go to the same meeting and they remebered that I had a season pass and didn't make me pay again. Anyway, we have a new leader and she was acutally in my meeting the first time I went, 4 years ago. I remeber when she hit goal and became a receptionist. She did a good job, much better than the last one we had. I hopefully she will stick around. I didn't want to get weighed because, I havn't been doing well, I don't feel good, and its TOM, my home scale is reading a 5 pound gain. I told the woman at the scale to onot tell me how much I gained, I knew I'd gained and I'd look at it later but I actually lost. so either their scale is wrong or mine is wrong. I'll see next week if I'm still down.....

Hope everyone enjoys their sunday. Pittsburgh is a ghost town because the steelers are playing, we went to a movie and were theonly ones in the theater!

Lisa_WY 09-12-2005 06:43 AM

Good Morning!!!
Today is Monday and only 5 days of the work week left. You can feel the chill in the air and fall is approaching!

We went to church yesterday. We skipped out on the pig roast. Something about seeing a pig on a grill with an apple in its mouth makes it very unappealing. DH decided we wanted beef stew instead with all the fresh veggies we got at the farm instead. Good choice for us. LOL So much better for us.

M and I went to Walmart yesterday to grocery shop and look around. We took our time and were there for 2-1/2 hours. Got my walking in. LOL M's best friend next door was sick so she went over and sat with him and wanted to bring him juice in these cool paper cups she bought at Walmart. IT was so sweet. They hung out together so now she probably will get sick.>URGGGG.

Tonight is open house at school. I am trying to figure out how to get my AP's in. I want to go to the gym but would have to cut short my exercise plan so I can shower and pick up M from gymnastics. Then we would still have to deal with homework. I know dh won't make her do it afterschool although I am going to suggest it.

Yesterday at church someone that hasn't seen me in a while said, WOW, you lost a ton of weight. LOL Yup..I feel like it was a ton but have a ton more to lose. I wore a pair of capris that actually fit me. LOL IT makes a big difference. I have gone down 4 sizes already. Most of my former pants I don't have to unbutton to take off. It was time to get a few pairs that actually fit. I feel so much more confident. IT has been awhile since I was in this size but I still want to be smaller. LOL I will get there although my WL has really slowed the last few weeks. I am keeping on with my exercise and watching to make sure my points are in line. Weekends are hard for me. Everything we do centers around food. LOL Next weekend...it will be fence time again. We wanted a week off of helping. Then the following week we are going to visit my stepson and family in the mountains of Colorado. Dh said the trees will start to change by then, it should be a beautiful drive.

Well...everyone have a great day!! Stay OP and drink your water!!!!! I am going for my 150oz today.

jennie934 09-12-2005 01:07 PM

Hey Gals,
just checking in, I'm on my luch break.
Curly, don't get to upset about the 2 pounds, TOM can through off any loss. Wait until next week and you will probablly see better reults.
Lisa, wow, 4 sizes that is so wonderful. I can't wait until I can say something like that. I really want to be able to shop in a regular size store.
Got to run, hope every one is having a good monday!
Jennie

Hotcupojava 09-12-2005 05:08 PM

Hi PIC Chicks

I exercised today! My sister came over and we did a "Lumps Circuit" and took a coffee break and then did a WATP DVD. She did it all, but I quit after 2 1/2 miles. It was the first time in a long time (other than a few five minute sessions on my stepper, which left my thighs terribly weak and shaky). And we had a nice lunch of tomatoes and a surprise cucumber from my garden.

I'm going back on South Beach in the morning. I've been stutter stepping my way back towards it, but tomorrow IS the day. After many false starts. I spent my day making 13 or 14 bottles of sugar free Kool-aid (and various generic brands) to drink IN JUNCTION with water, daily.

Where is everyone? Our page was almost on page two. How is everybody? Answer up, y'all :p

curlylocks 09-12-2005 06:41 PM

i took a mental health day off from work today :dizzy:

my mom and i went to the thrift stores.. i got 5 paris of jeans , a red wool blazer, and 4 tops for 11$ the jeans range from 20's down to 16's so i am prepared!!

then we went to lunch at the chinese buffet, i had a few egg foo young patties and then picked the vegetables out of the other entrees.. lol i am so stuffed with brocoli i dont think i want any dinner

i just got back from my workout.. need to do some laundry.. and take chai out for a bit... have a good evening!

angel-eyes 09-12-2005 06:52 PM

Boy....just ask and I show up!!! How's that? LOL

I had a 1 lb loss for my weigh in, could have been worse as TOM is knocking on my door. I'll ask again....anyone want him? Last night I had dinner at my friends house :hun: (after dh spent the day helping her husband put up the framing studs in their basement). I was very good or so I thought. She had pizza :jeno: and salad. I knew to bank some pts and was very careful throughout the day so I could have 1 slice. WEll....I had 2 servings of salad and thought, wow this salad dressing is really good. YUM YUM...It was a sweet vidallia onion dressing, and although I have one like it at home, it was a different brand. While at the grocery store today, I looked for the same type, it turns out to be loaded with a WHOPPING 14 GRAMS OF FAT!!! :nono: NO WONDER IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. :fr: LOL....mine at home was 60 cal and 0 fat grams. Next time I'll serve myself before she mixes the dressing in....

Mom.....ouch!! :ouch: I was cringeing, while reading about your toe. Hope the blood gushing has stopped by now and is on the mend.

Lisa......YOU GO GIRL!!! :cb: Wow...4 sizes down in your clothes!!! Its a wonder you aren't mooning anyone!!! Glad you've got some new pants. If it was me?...would not be a PRETTY SIGHT!!! lol

Curly.....Don't give up the goose just because TOM is here. With you sticking to OP and all the excercise, its just a fluke. Next week will be even better. Hang in there for the big whoosh!! Great shopping for you on the bargains!!

Hotcup......You are the workout woman of the day!!! WOOHOO....good luck with gearing up for day #1 of South Beach tommorow.

curlylocks 09-12-2005 07:01 PM

oh yeah nothing will deter me from my mission!!!!!

Hotcupojava 09-12-2005 07:29 PM

Tootin' my own horn a bit

Yeah, tootin' it while I'm still all motivated and feeling positive (get in while it lasts) Not only did I make 13 or 14 bottles of SF Kool-aid, but I grilled two skinless, boneless chicken breasts, packed them in with green beans and made two servings of tuna salad with 1/2 a can in each of garbanzo beans (cici's). That'll take care of lunch and supper for two whole days! Way to plan ahead Turtle! ;)

The exercise **** is coming back in the morning for another work out. My back is a bit sore from "TRYING" to get up and off my balance ball (during our "Lumps circuit") But I'm hoping it's JUST sore and not, strained or something worse.

My mini trampoline didn't come today. I was sure it would and was VERY disappointed. It would have been the perfect day to recieve and play with it. Sigh. :?:

I'm also a bit concerned about Squeak. She's acting all lazy again and feeling warm. I went in and got her off of my bed (where she's been sleeping all DAY) and pet her and brushed her. She perked up and ate and pottied, but went RIGHT back to my bed. I'm hoping she's just lazy instead of sick. I can't afford much more with that grey beast. :dizzy:

petra65 09-12-2005 07:55 PM

It was back to work day for me today and it was insane! (no pun intended) I had peanuts for lunch literally. I did get to talk to the invisible fence people. They are coming on Wednesday to bring me a stronger collar and do some more training with Buddy. In the meantime, he gets tied outside.

I went to my first pilates class tonight. I was lucky enough that there were only 2 of us in this class so I got some individual attention which was nice since it was my first class. It has a lot in common with yoga. I liked it enough to go again if it fits in my schedule.

I'm expecting TOM this week too. We all seem to be on the same cycle again.

Louie 09-12-2005 11:45 PM

Hey Partners !!

Just a quick check in for me.

Had a spooktacular WI this morning but nothing spectacular about it... a 2.1 lb gain.. NUTS !!

Things have been absolutely crazy for me... Friday night I worked until 7:00, then off to school on Saturday from 9-4 and 9-12 on Sunday.. then back to work on Sunday afternoon.. I got home at 8:00 last night and then was back there at 7:30 this morning. I left work at 4:00 to come home and study.. which I just put away at 8:30....I wish doing all that brain work would help the scale go down :dizzy:

Looks like we had lots of mixed results on our WI this week.. congrats to the losers and to us gainers, hang in there, we will see better results next week!

Have a great Tuesday all and I will try to check in again soon.

Hotcupojava 09-13-2005 08:44 AM

Gain for me too. BIG one!

I'm up a BUNCH. But I'm back on the beach and feeling pretty motivated today. So, I guess I'll not let it get to me. My weigh in was 233 this morning. Wow, that's up from .... oh I'm not going to dwell on it. It is was it is. 233. I guess I'd better go change my ticker :(

angel-eyes 09-13-2005 09:34 AM

Just a quick pop in before I head to the gym. Glad to see alot of posts this fair morning!!! I'll post individual hello's later but just wanted to say.....HIA---YAHHHHH!!!! TAKE THAT!!!! :D Its my kickboxing class this morning, LOL I even convinced another friend to come take it with me, hopefully she'll still be my friend after class..

curlylocks 09-13-2005 09:57 AM

i would love to see 233 on my scale!

Lisa_WY 09-13-2005 10:14 AM

Howdy All... sorry I was MIA yesterday.. This is going to be real quick since I actually have a ton of work to do today..don't you hate it when work gets in the way of your fun! We had open house at school last night and tonight is the PTL(PTA) meeting.

I am drinking my water like crazy. Scale is not moving but I am. LOL I am getting my AP's in but need to challenge myself more to get this weight off by Halloween.

I think most of had a horrible week. I wonder why?? In the moon??? LOL

This is a post I posted on another group in response to needing support and if on WW do you have to eat your fruits and veggies. Can you lose weight without fruit and veggies?? Anyway, this was my response:
__________________________________________________ _
I do get in my fruits and veggies and try to do it before lunch. I use my f&v's as my snacks most of the time. I count everything M-F. I also use my AP's to try to get in 3 servings of dairy. If I have AP's in the evening, I always drink a glass of milk with dinner or before bed. I give myself a little freedom on the weekends. I am aware of what I eat but I am not obsessed about it. I do try to stay within my points in my head because I am trying to learn to live the change than being obsessed with the change. I don't plan for my flex points but probably use them on the weekends or for the "extras: like cream, low fat mayo, and other things that go into our meals that we don't plan for. (hopefully that makes sense)

The other thing I do is ALWAYS get my water in and more than the 64ozs. I try for 150oz each day. My body craves the water more than anything else. I have cut out all pop and I used to be a huge (in more ways than one) pop drinker. Because of a bout with kidney stones...I gave it up. Even diet pop tastes sweet to me. If we go out to dinner I may order one but do prefer water and have a glass too with dinner. I have one cup of coffee a day with splenda and fat free cream. Drinking the water has been a very healthy choice for me. It has helped with "other" problems I was having like leaking and the kidney stones. This has made a big difference in the way I look and feel. If I do not get enough water my body tells me so. I also get in my AP's running to the potty every 10 minutes. LOL

I also try to get my AP's in most days. Doesn't always work going to the gym but I get creative. I started wearing a pedometer and trying to do 10,000 steps everyday. I have a very active 5 year old. I used to think I didn't have "time" to get in my ap's. I actually have tons of time I just had to learn to plan better and do for myself. Although winter is approaching and you can feel it in the air today. LOL I am not sure how this will work. RIght now if I need something from the store I will ride my bike. I rode my bike to WI last week... figured it out it only took me an additional 10 minutes to get there if I would of driven. I go bike riding with my daughter on Sunday afternoons. Some days we just ride to the neighborhood school and play follow the leader on the playground. You ought to see me get my big butt up the slide. She gets to be the leader and we run and jump all over the playground. More of a workout then the elipitical for 30 minutes and the time I spend with my daughter is priceless. Sometimes we just take a walk around the block in the evening and talk about her day. There are days I go to the gym by myself. She has gymnastics on Mon and Wed and I try to go while she is there. Luckily my dh is involved and he takes her and I pick her up on my way home. My gym time is my time and they are very good about letting me go there. My WI is on Saturday mornings. I normally don't stay for the meeting. Just don't find the leader motivating. I try to go to the gym afterwards. This is normally my long day at the gym.(1-1/2 -2 hours) I try to find activities that I can do with my family to get in my AP's and do little tricks like parking far away in the parking lot or around the block when going to the post office. My family is living this with me and need to be involved.

Now with winter approaching my brain is looking for ways to get my AP's in without being outside. We have a harsh winter. I bought some Richard Simmon videos from amazon.com to keep me active on the days I can't make it to the gym and can't workout outside. I bought some handweights and a toning band. Both I got on sale at Target because they are doing an end of season clearance here. I also figured instead of using the snow blower I will shovel the snow on my big corner lot. You have to keep moving. It doesn't have to be at the gym or a organized workout. Just putting on music and dancing around while you are cleaning your house is AP's or walking around Walmart for 2-1/2 hours while grocery shopping.

Reward yourself for each 5lbs loss. It could be something simple and non food related. One of the things I am doing on another group is we talked about charm braclets and for each 5lbs we are adding another charm. I signed up for a Halloween challenge. I am trying to get to onderland by Halloween. When I obtain this goal, I am buying me a new outfit. Challenge yourself to make small steps and try not to change your whole lifestyle overnight. Another group I participate in is doing an exercise challenge this month. We are trying to get in 26 days of exercise out of 30 for September. I haven't figured out what my reward is for that but it probably will be a new video or something that can help me achieve exercise for November. Small changes, small steps... Celebrate the NSV's (non scale victories)

I think the hardest thing is admitting you have a problem with food. It doesn't have to be the enemy. Our bodies need food but more importantly the right kinds of food. That doesn't mean you can never have something it means you have to modify it to fit your new lifestyle. I try many new reciepes that are low in points. I use low fat cheese in foods like tacos and sandwhiches. I use splenda in baking and in things that need sugar like coffee. Instead of eating chips although I do buy the low fat Ruffles I like carmel rice cakes. I measure and count out my foods. Another trick I have done is bought some smaller plates so you don't feel like you have this big empty plate. I measure my portions. Most of us came to this because we never learned how to eat or actually we learned too well. You have to modify your body and your mind and unlearn what you learned as a child. We were told to finish what was on our plate, we learned it was ok to call and order pizza, we think nothing about stopping by McD's and getting lunch. I have learned I have to plan for those things. I can have a McD's hamburger but a 1/4 pounder with cheese is probably not my best choice a kids meal is much better and you get a reward of the toy and can have apples instead of fries. There is more than enough food in there. Involve your family. I think one of the biggest mistakes is we treat this like a diet and we eat our food and our family eats theirs. I have figured out my family doesn't need 2 packages of cookies or other crap every week....they are not being denied but are given healthier choices in fresh fruit and veggies, yogurt, or low fat alternatives. Because of me changing the way I cook, my dh has lost about 15lbs without really trying.

Ok, I am done writing my book and in a way has helped me too. I have been on WW since the middle of May and I have lost 40lbs, went down 4 sizes in pants(24W to 18) and look and feel so much more healthier. In 18 weeks, I have lossed 16 weeks, maintained once and only gained once.(although the next week, I loss enough for both weeks) WW has worked for me and it can work for you.

Good Morning PIC!

I have been so busy the last few days at home and work. THis week is unreal. Tonight M is having a friend stay over because her mom is going to see her dad before he is deployed to Kuwait for a year. Right now he is stuck in Va and they are trying to decide if they are going to Kuwait or New Orleans. Tomorrow night is piano and Friday night M has a special gymnastics thing, Saturday is ballet and fence building again. Sunday we are resting.

Curly: Dave didn't notice until he started losing weight. He said it must be the healthier cooking. He thinks he doesn't like low fat cheese but ummm... I been using it in all my cooking. LOL Tonight I am making WW pizza. It has tons of veggies on it like mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers and onion. I make M a little piece with just cheese. He also hasn't notice the splenda. LOL

Momx3: Good luck with your exercise. It does make you feel better. I stepped on the scale this morning and I was down which amazes me because my exercise the last few days have been null. I am going to the gym tonight. Seems like the more I exercise the less I lose but I know it is good for me so I will keep doing it.

Angel: Interesting about my post. The person it was intended for didn't get it. She physically got it but mentally I think there was no one home. LOL We had another lady on that list what wanted to lose weight but didn't want to work at it...she wanted it to magically come off. I swear this is the same person.. I honestly think you have to change your state of mind to be sucessful. Neither of these people were willing.

Turtle: come out of your shell... How are you doing today?? Promise me you won't look at the scale until your normal weigh in day. Pick one day stick with it!!! You can do this!!!! Don't depress yourself by being scale addicted. I use the scale as a tool. I laugh when I am up as much as 10lbs in one day. I weight myself way to much but getting better about not doing it. I might have to hide the scales. Great job on the exercise. You can do this!!!!

Petra: I am not on your cycle..thank goodness.LOL I have no cycle..and I am loving it. I think I still PMS much to dh's dismay. LOL I want to try pilates but I am not good in a group setting so I think I will stick to my ellipitical and treadmill and weight workouts. LOL

TEB: don't worry about the gain..it will come off again. Remember to take time for yourself!!!!

L2L: WHere are you????????????????????????????????? Post girl!!

Ok..I am still trying to decide if I can sleep another hour... Might go lay down with M and snuggle with her for a while. I want sleep. LOL

Hi Ladies,
Yesterday was my long day at work, I do my regular 9-5 then I teach a night class at a school that is an hour away. ahhh what I don't do for money. Yesterday was also one of my fist big tastes or being a coordinator, I had 3 meetings in the morning , then had to interview someone(man, interviews are painful, I felt bad for this gal we were interviewing), didn't get a chance to eat lunch until 1:30, and then the kids show up at 2:30 for our afterschool programs.... so I was running around but not really running.
Today I walked to work to at least have a few moments to my self. My son's b-day is this weekend and its in the middle of this whole moving things. We are having it in the yard at our old house because our new house's yard is still a mess but there won't be naything left in the house by then. I just hope it turns out OK, I can't invite his whole class like he would want me to so its going to just be neighborhood kids.
gotta run, got a call, I'll check back in and finish in a minute.
Jennie

I got my butt on the elliptical this morning before work and got in the downstairs shower instead of using the one in my room. Now normally I get out of the shower dry off and get dressed but today I had to wrap the towel around myself to run to the den where my clothes were and guess what..... I wrapped it all the way around myself!!!!

I am at work so I will try to get on later. I just had to tell you guys.
