Lisa-There is a Biggest Loser Forum under Dieting Central. Jillian posts on one of the threads there. I think people are hoping she will post on other threads too but so far that hasn't happened.
Mom-great to see you back and still losing. I don't know what to tell you about the cheating thing. I have not done it because I think it would be disasterous for me personally. I think the Dr. tells you what to do in the book if you cheat and I think you have to go back to the beginning for awhile so maybe you need to think about whether or not going back to phase 1 for a week or 2 is worth it? Have you made the sweet nuts recently? or some sugar free jello? I made a sugar free cheesecake over the weekend for a family gettogether and those kinds of things seem to help keep me on the straight and narrow. Welcome to Valerie. Just jump right in. Where is curly today? We've almost always heard from her by now? iwmonn-hope you feel better soon. I"m glad your hubby is being so supportive of you and recognizing that bringing junk into the house is sabotage. angel--and knowledge is power! I'm not usually a reality TV fan but I'm going to watch TBL tonight. Now that I've read Jillian's book and her posts I feel like I should watch the show. Hope to hear from all the PIC divas later. |
hi guys!
well i got off work at 2 today ... 3rd time was the charm.. and chai got his shots today!!! Also.. when i adopted Mallie ( my missing cat) from the humane society... she was microchipped... but seeing as i live in the sticks and she is an indoor cat.. and procrastination.. i never registered her chip #, so i am tearing the house apart lookin for her papers and no chip info. :( so i do find a little note a lady from the humane society had sent me with her 1st rabies tag.. and a phone number... so i called and they were able to pull her file and give me her micro chip number.. so i call and had her # registered in my name...... then since i had a vet appt. for the dog, i made up flyers for the vets office, to post in the back for the vet techs in case someone ever takes her in to the vet, with her chip # and picture on it.. tomorrow i am going to distribute the flyer to all the vets (well we only have 4) just in case... I really do believe someone has taken her... which i cant understand.. shes a plain old tabby cat.. i cant understand how someone could just take another persons pet... (cry) well 4 days with no circuit training, and eating more calories and i feel like crap :( Oh and i stopped by the library cuz they called and said Jillian Michaels book ahad come in for me... so ive skimmed it but will go read it... Welcome Valerie Wonderful to have u join us!! |
Curly-I"m so sorry about your kitty. I hope she shows up. Once when I was a kid, our cat wandered off for a week and then just showed up on the doorstep one day like nothing happened. I can't imagine losing one of my babies. Fortunately, it is hard to steal a 100 lb dog and not get noticed.
I watched TBL last night. It is a very emotional show. I see they solved the men lose more weight than women problem. I also see what you mean about them having too much focus on the exercise part. I would agree. I think it was also a bad idea to have that part where they had to eat unhealthy things. That is almost like asking a junky who is trying to quit to shoot up. There is also perhaps too much focus on the scale. I guess they have to have something to measure but we all know that we can do everything perfectly sometimes and the scale just doesn't move. They should be able to get "points" for other things like following their diet program all week, or spending extra time in they gym or whatever even if the scale doesn't move. Maybe I'm trying to make the show less sensational and more reality based. Maybe I should post those ideas on the other thread for Jillian to read? |
i guess its all about the ratings... and they figure the people watching expect the contestants to over eat and jump at the chance to have goodies.... i would imagine that the trainers are over ridden by the network executives on the decisions about how the show will go..
have a great day guys... its FREEEEEZING here.. and i have yet to buy oil... i'll be glad to go to work today! lol |

Oh yea and thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)
A little bit about myself. I've been overweight for the last 15 years or so, but I really put on the pounds after taking an antidepressant for 10 years. I had believed myself to be a "healthy" fat but I had a wake up call last month when I found out I have diabetes. My grandmother had been a double amputee so the idea of this happening to me was scary enough to get me going! I've been following the zone philosophy but counting calories instead of blocks. I've lost 24 inches and 20 pounds so far! I'm amazed at myself because I never thought I could do it. I'm so happy to have found this site because I really need the support to stick with it! Just going to the grocery store is something else now. I can't believe all the crap lining the isles! Anyway thats for the welcome and I look forward to getting to know you all :) |
no collar becuz she was strickly an indoor cat, the wind blew the front door open while i was walking my dog. and she must have slipped out..

Good Morning Ladies,
Valerie :welcome: , you will find this group to be very supportive and they post like mad! I have to go over to the church kitchen this morning and pretend like I am a dishwasher expert. We have a remodeled kitchen and somehow or other I ended up chairing the kitchen committee. As a dyed-in-the-wool introvert, I don't *do* that kind of thing, I much prefer to stay in the background. I was responsible for keeping coffee supplies in the old kitchen and somehow the job just grew. The ladies club is going to use the kitchen, hence the dishwasher demo. Wish me luck. I have managed to lose one more pound. I watched 'The Biggest Loser" last night and I think that program might be mighty discouraging for the average dieter! I hope that everyone is OP today. zoey |
Hey Ladies,
well tuesdays always screw me up. I teach a night class so my day is like 8-5 then 5-10. With no break in between. I packed some of my left over casarole and ate in beteen very fast but didn't enjoy it since I was rushing. So after teaching, I was like on muchie mode. I wanted snacks so badly. This weekend I cheated a little and had some twislers. I think I hadn't been having cravings or anythign because I had been pretty strick but since that sugar went into my system, I'm having tons or cravings for junk that I don't really even like. So last night I munched on my legal sweets, and had some more cassarole, so it was kind of a legal binge. I am going to try and detox in a way again and not give in to these cravings. Its so hard. Its like all I think about is what I shouldn't be eating. So I guess I'm in the same boat as you momx3, once you start cheating, its hard to stop. I would say get it out of your system and detox. Core is pretty close to south beach and I really didn't have to many craving until the twizzler incident... Momx3, it looks like you are in the race with me and Petra to get to onderland. I betting Petra makes it first. I havn't gotten this low before and so close, I can taste it or ummm, feel it. Keep it up, we'll make it. Curly, I hope the microchip thing helps find your kitty. I've neverheard of that, how do they do it. I have a cat and I should probably do something just in case. He's so goofey but I wouldn't want to lose him. I hope you find yours. Petra, I havn't seen TBL yet. I keep hearing about it but I'm always at work on Tuesday, how did they solve the losing weight issue? Lisa, I was just thinking about you this moring. I'm so glad to hear about your loss. Quitting smoking is the best thing to do for your health just keep that in mind as those pounds come off. Angel, I still have all l my stuff in storage, I think when we actually get in our place, I'm not even going to unpack my son's clothes, by then he will be way to tall, we'll start with a clean closet and see if we can keep it that way. Val, welcome to out group! Dee, Iwonmon, L2l, TEB, Turtle, Zoey, hmmm who am I foegetting, have a good one. ttyl Jennie |
Still Kicking
I'm still around. Sorry I've been MIA. I've been keeping up with reading the posts. Welcome to our newbies (you'll love it here) and hello to all you PIC Divas. Please forgive my absence.
I went to the doctor about my knee and although there is a sprain/injury... the x-rays show Arthritis. I'm taking Ibuprofin 800mg and Lor Tabs at night. I'm not sure if it's the meds that are helping or not, but I think it's improving. I also bought (and started) taking the supplement Glocosomine/Chondrotin for carlidge health. I doubt it can hurt, but I sure hope it helps. I had to have Squeak put to sleep Monday and Jay buried her in my yard. Winter hit us hard Monday night (heavy wet snow and ice) and some are still without power. Now Jay is sick and back at his house. He is without power. It's not been a good month, but I'm trying not to retreat to the safety of my shell. I went back to TOPS and I'd lost about a half a pound. I received a $25.00 Barnes & Noble gift certificate for my b-day. I was going to buy a diet book or exercise video, but ya know? I think I might buy that Barenaked Ladies DVD I've been wanting  It IS a gift after all. I hope to talk to you all real soon. |
Hotcup.....I"m sooo sorry to hear about your cat. Poor little thing, she was just too sick to recover and it was one thing after another. Poor little Squeak.{{hugs}} On a plus note though.....you went back to TOPS and you LOST!!! Enjoy spending your gift certificate.
Petra......I enjoyed last nights show also. I was wondering how they were going to do a longer version. I wish they showed more of what is going on in the house, re: meals and food. Jillian and Bob seemed genuinely surprized when the teams announced the 2-person teams, so I don't think they are actually IN on any of the strategy's. Quite the transformation of Pete eh? I was shocked to see that when all was said and done.....he wanted to start a family!! I thought he was more of a 'granpa' age. All that extra weight really added to him. Jennie.....Detox, detox...!!! Thats the way it starts, a twizzler here and a bite there. Stop it now before it gets out of control. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Legal foods, casserole....whatever it takes. Zoey.....Congratulations!!! :cheer: Good job on the weight loss. Enjoy your ...ah...er....dishwasher demo!! :D Valerie....WOW...GREAT JOB!!! :carrot: 20 lbs is awesome!!! :carrot: I'm sorry its under these circumstances, but any wakeup call is a good one. Keep up the great work!!! Curly.....Enjoy reading the book. I am on day 2 of the workouts....can you spell S-O-R-E M-U-S-C-L-E-S? Thank god for tommorow's day of rest!! I hope your flyers help in searching for Mallie. Well....enough about all the shout outs!!! Gotta go take a shower as I stink!! :yikes: What a workout this morning. Have a good day!!! |
Morning all. It's hump day which puts us one day closer to the weekend!!! :carrot: I hopped on the scale for a second this morning and I was 201.4. I still don't think I am going to get to onderland by Halloween but I am so happy that I am almost there. :cb:
Petra - I am not really craving sweets which is very strange indeed. I want pizza and salsa with chips!! I must be getting close to TOM's visit. Lisa - Great job on the 1.4 pounds!! :cp: I am so proud of you for not smoking!! You Rock my friend. Angel - Are you doing Jillians book? Hotcup - I am sooo sorry about Squeak!! Poor kitty!! Don't feel bad you did so much for her and now she is no longer in pain. Sorry to hear about the Arthritis I also have it in my knees. They get really bad during the colder weather. Jennie - Onderland her we come!! I am so excited to see a one as the first digit on that scale. Zoey - Great job on the 1 pound loss!! Keep it up!! Curly - Sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope you find her really soon. Valerie - Welcome to the group!! That's my sisters name. Great job on the work you have done so far and good luck with your continued success!! iwmonn - Sorry your feeling Blah!! I hate that. I makes it so much more difficult to stay OP. I hope you feel better soon. TTYL |
Wow, busy thread today. I have to be somewhat quick here because I have to go do a consult--YUCK!
Mom-I think they make South Beach pizza you can buy frozen. Maybe that would work? Maybe you could make your own chips out of whole wheat tortillas. It would take a little extra work but might be worth the trouble. Jennie-I don't know if you read my little post to L2L about the whole sugar addiction thing and how if I start thinking I can have a cookie here, or a brownie there, I end up in BIG trouble. It really does remind me of my alcoholics who try to tell me they can have a beer or a drink once in a while and the next thing we know they are drinking themselves into a stupor every night and have to go back to rehab. I honestly believe abstinence is the only way. If I every write a diet book, I am really going to highlight this issue because I don't think enough is said about it. Jillian does talk about it a little bit in her book. Angel-I saw you asking about meal plans for Jillian's book. The post from me she was referring to was where I said that the plan for balanced oxidizers (which applies to you) is The Zone. And it turns out that Valerie might be able to help you with that because boy is that one complicated plan with those food blocks. I guess it probably isn't much more complicated than points once you get used to it but it would take some getting used to. Turtle-sorry to hear about Squeak. It's always hard to let them go but it is the most merciful thing to do when that time comes. Nice to hear from you again. Your sister, the exercise ****, would love Jillian's book. It has one heck of a butt kickin exercise program in it. Zoey and Lisa-congrats on your losses. I better get my butt to the hospital. TTYL |
Turtle, I was so sorry to read about Squeak. I know that you took good care of her and did all that you could do. You know that you did the right thing, but it is still hard. We had a wonderful cat that we had to put down for health reasons when he was only 4 years old and it was very hard. That was a few years ago and I miss him still. His name was Onslo and he was my buddy.
zoey |
Jennie the chip is about the size of a piece of rice and they inject it under their skin.. doesnt really hurt .. just like a regular shot then at the shelter or the vet they have a scanner that they can run over the cat/dog and it reads the microchip number... they can then call the maker of the chip and get all your information.. you can even give them 2 alternative phone numbers to call if u are not home..
if u purchase pet insurance (runs @ 10 a month) they will give u a really big discount if your pet is micro chipped also |
Hey Everyone,
Good morning! It has been a busy posting day I see. I'm still way under the weather but not eating crazy like I did on Monday. I guess my hubby having a talk with me helped. LOL, I know he wants me to succeed for my health and for me, but dang he still has to smoke while I'm exercising. BTW I have moved my workout space so it's all good now ;) I sure hope alla you east coasters are doing ok with all that nasty weather. Val~ It's so nice to see you posting. You are doing awesome GF! Is Bing being supportive for you too? I'm still amazed that this huge internet, and even within this pretty big site you saw a post with my name on it and shouted out to me! Yayyyy ((((val))))). Curley~ I'm still praying you get your kitty back. When I moved here, my old girl kitty disappeard for weeks. Eventually she showed up on the porch tho. LOL congrats on finally getting Chai to the vet! Bet you're glad that's over. I'm excited to hear how the new workout and food plan works for you. Good Luck!!!!! Petra~ Speaking of pets, how's Kobe? Last I remember you were having more tests on him? *L* I'm still visualizing that urin sample gathering ;). Zoey~ YAYYYYYYY for the loss! You're on your way again. Jennie~ Sounds like an awfully loooong day. Those cravings do get hard to ignore. Good for you for sticking with 'legal' sweets. I gave in to a craving for a specific hi-cal chip... and ya know it really wasn't very good. Didn't taste at all like I remember it. Maybe something really is changing in me. heheheh I'm eating, and liking my broccoli several times/week now. Turtle~ I'm sooo sorry about squeak. I went thru that just a couple months ago. It's never an easy decision but I know my Oliver is out of pain now. :) Re your gift, my vote is for the DVD. Do something to make you smile. You deserve it! Mom~ Hump day brings ME one day closer to the work week lmao!! My week is Thurs-Mon. YOu are so close to your halloween goal! I love your attitude. I'd be happy too. Good Luck with it. AngelEyes~Smart of you to head to the library. I wish I had one nearby. I'd love to check out all the books Petra has talked about. I still plan on getting the Four Corners one soon... after hubbys shock from the new car wears down lol. So ok, time to nap for a bit. I can't be sick anymore. We are so short handed at work. And I haven't got any of next months sales in the computer yet! Yikessss. ttfn all... :grouphug: PS.. petra will you post your nut recipe again? I've been searching but my dialup is soooo slow it's taking forever to go thru each page. I'd really appreciat it. And I promise to write it down this time lol. |
I know it doesnt help much.. but just try to remember... that had squeak not found you... she would have spent all her short life alone.. and you were able to show her love and comfort for the time she did have... But i know thats no consulation..
like friends telling me that if someone did take mallie... she is inside and comfy .. i just say ..well the jerks should have gone to the humane society like i did if they want a pet.. and bring mine back!!! |
WOOHOO....what a bunch of chatty cathy's we are!!!!
Okay, I AM SOOOO PUMPED!!! Even though my scale isn't my new bestfriend lately, I am having an utterly FANTASTIC DAY!!! Its amazing how something so inconsequential can change your entire outlook. Yesterday, I went shopping (for something to do, when bored I eat so.. ..) and looked through at least 4 racks of jeans. I came across a pair that were really hot. They are the low riders with alot of distressed sections (for lack of a better word...holes,rips) with a rose pattern on one hip accented with rhinestones. WELL.....ran out of time so I didn't try them on right away, forgot the bag in the car and remembered today. I tried them on AND THEY FIT!!! :cb: They are 2 sizes SMALLER than I normally wear!!!! :cb: I know, I know....BUT THEY FIT!!!! Hahaha....I'm strutting around like Britney Spears,Madonna or Cher (take your pick) What an awesome deterant for how NOTto over eat while wearing them. God help me if I wash them......BUT THEY FIT ME NOW!!! HAHAHA...**evil laugh** |
Good for you Angel! You can always wash them in cold water!
zoey |
Angel-you are so funny!
Iwmonn-here it is again. It's actually George Stella's recipe 1 cup pecan halves 1 cup sliced almonds 1/2 cup splenda 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 4 tbsp butter or margerine Mix up all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Melt the butter in a large heavy skillet, then throw the dry ingredients in. Toss gently for 3-4 minutes until lightly toasted and all the butter is absorbed. Becareful not to cook for too long or they will burn. Then put them back in the bowl to cool. Each serving is 1.5 oz and 2 grams of net carbs. It is awesome warm too. Kobe doesn't have Cushings or Addison's. It turns out that his water consumption is at the very high end of normal. The vet is going to talk to a specialist to see if we need to do any more tests on him or just let the poor dog be. The biggest problem is him waking me up two or three times each night to go out to pee. I don't know if I mentioned this before but I am seriously considering giving out raisins this year instead of candy for Halloween. I am having a hard time justifying giving out junk when obesity is the number one health problem among children. What do other people think about this? I have mixed feelings about Halloween anyway but I usually do give out candy. |
Hi Petra. I had a neighbour who was a dentist, and she gave out toothbrushes every year. Another idea, is to go to the dollar store and get some cute pencils, erasers, stickers and tie a baggie up with ribbon. It would depend on how many kids you get, or I've even seen huge bags of plastic spider rings, glow in the dark skeletons etc. 'Oriental Trading' magazine has alot of fun stuff, but time is of the essence. Try looking them up on the web. On some stuff, they have qty's of several dozen per bag. Just an idea.
|
hahahaha rofl!!!! Great story Angel! YOu must feel awesome. *sigh* I remember the days when I could shop when bored. hehe all the shops around here are for the tourists and wayyyyy out of my range. Just as well. Congrats to ya Brit..... er AngelEyes ;)
Petra~ I think raisins are a good idea. As long as the little boxes are individually sealed. I seem to recall last time I got the individual sizes they weren't. Little doo-dads are always fun too. Glad to hear Kobe is ok. Hmmmm... I saw somewhere a dog using a litterbox??? Oh and TY so much for the recipe again. I'm going to make them tomorrow if I go to work. How many servings does that recipe make? :grouphug: again |
Turtle I'm sorry to hear about your kitty. I know what it's like to loose a furry family member.
I work for adopt a pet in chicago and right now i'm fostering two kitties and someone actually called to see them tonight! I think she's going to come tomorrow so hopefully I found a good home for at least one of them! If anyone is interesting in seeing my foster kitties click here an they're at the bottom. Tootsie Roll and Milkeyway http://www.adoptapet-il.net/pickapair.htm :flow1: |
Guess who came to breakfast?
WOOO HOOO Mallie is home!!!!! i heard someone meowing this morning.. and she is the only one of the 3 that meows... i went outside and called her and there she was!!!
thanks for all your prayers!! |
Curly-that is wonderful news. You might want to think about getting her a collar and a tag just to be on the safe side.
iwmonn-that recipe makes a lot of servings. probably 12 or more. you could half it if it is too much. I like to have it around. I made something yummy for breakfast this morning that I haven't had since I started low carb. I had creamed chipped beef. I'd never made it before. I used carb countdown milk and oat flour and served it over low carb toast. It still turned out to be like 19 grams of carbs but I'm sure that's a big improvement over the original. Kobe is trying to sit on my lap while I type. He is such a big baby. I have off tomorrow so this is my last day of the week. YEAH!! I have my yearly female exam scheduled and the electrician coming to do some work on the house. I'm also planning to clean out the closets to make room for some new clothes in smaller sizes. |
they all have tags with their name & phone number on them... but tonight i think i will order break away collars for everyone!!
|
Curly that is so wonderful! I'm so happy for you :) I bet you're giving that kitty some serious love today!
|
Great news Curly! Give her a kiss on the nose for me.
zoey |
What great news
Curly, I'm so happy your baby came back. I know I should have been more positive, but I didn't think you'd see her again. I'm so glad I was wrong. Kiss her for the turtle too. I'm so happy for you, buddy.
|
Howdy All, another Indian Summer day!!
Curly: Yippeee your kitty came home!! Turtle: Sorry to hear about Squeek.. hugs Valerie: I had to click on the page..I could of taken all those kitties home with me...and a dog or two..too!! Petra:I remember having chipped beef as a kid. I have been doing good on the eating end of WW.. exercise has been so-so..probably I will have a huge loss then. LOL If I don't exercise I lose!! I continue to exercise because it does help my sizes go down. I am in a very comfortable size 16 pants and a XL shirt.. neither I have been in for a while..well the XL shirt but it was a tshirt so that doesn't count. LOL Iwmonn: I found little packages of popcorn. THey were minibags that they can pop in the microwave. That is what I gave out last year. I am not going to be home this year so I bought a bag of dumdums. M doesn't need the candy and either does dh or I. Angel: I love Oriental Trading. THey have some great stuff!! I usually use them for M's party supplies....this year I decided I am not spending the extra giving out party bags. I am paying for them to play at the gym for 2 hours.. I am not doing both. A post on my adoption list talks about bday parties... um..it is the funniest thing I have ever read..it is what parents really think about kid parties. LOL (ok..my rant on bday parties for kids and keeping up with teh Jones') It does feel great to get into a smaller size. Zoey:Congrats on the lost. Jennie: How are you doing? I know I am forgetting some..but I am swamped at work. I will try to check in later..I am going to the Taste of Home today.. Dh is the Master of Cermonies and I have to take pics.(I am not staying the whole time) M got her first report card and did very well...we have teacher conference tomorrow. I stepped on the scale earlier and was closer to 215 than to 220..which is good.. (this was after breakfast) so I think I am on the downward turn again. I am not stressing about the WL..I am taking it one day at a time. LIsa |
 YEAH!!! CURLY'S CAT IS HOME!!!
So glad to hear that Mallie came back!!! I'm with you on the breakaway collar though, can't have that happen again. Lisa.....Sending you ~~happy thoughts for your scale~~!!! Just for luck, I'm also sending you a happy carrot :carrot: hehe.... Petra.....Can't say I've ever had chipped beef before, but it sounds good. Hey, I'd come over for a meal with anything you cook!! Poor you and poor Kobe. He's just like a wee babe waking up all night.....How do you ever get your rest? |
yea angel-my 100 lb baby who can be very persistent when he doesn't get what he wants. Sometimes I am absolutely exhausted from him waking me up at night and other nights he's pretty good but we rarely have a night he makes it all the way through.
For all you nut lovers, I'm trying out a new nut recipe. This one is a Dana Carpender slow cooker one. It looks and smells awesome. I'll let you know how it turns out. I found out we are having trick or treat tomorrow night so I better pick up whatever I'm giving out tomorrow. Probably raisins or granola bars or something with some nutritional value to them. A lot of people at work said they were giving out pretzels so I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm so glad I have tomorrow off but I think I really need about a week off. I'm really getting burned out. |
The nuts are fantastic. Here's the recipe if anyone else is interested.
1 lb pecans 1 stick of butter, melted 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/4 tsp allspice 1/2 cup splenda Put pecans in slow cooker, pour melted butter over them. Toss to coat. Then put in splenda and spices. Toss to make sure everything is well mixed. Turn slow cooker on high for 30 minutes, then take the lid off and turn on low for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Mix a couple times as you walk by. MMMMMMM!! 8 sevings (2 oz each) 304 calories, 32 g fat, 6 g carbs, 3 g fiber, 2 g protein |
Awwww Curley! I'm so glad your kitty is home. I remember how wonderful it was when my Annie finally showed up. She had been gone for weeks and I had actually given up on her coming back. It's the most wonderful feeling when you hear that voice!
Oh Petra, now I'm in a quandry lol... which nut recipe to try? They both sound good. The slow cooker one sounds like it will make the house smell really sweet too.. hmmmmmm decisions, decisions..... Get some well deserved rest PIC heya (((Val)))... *wavin from Cali*.. Things a little noisey out your way these days? Lisa~ I"m not gonna even get candy this year. We haven't had a trick or treater in the 4 years I've lived here, so I'm gonna stop using that old excuse lol.. If Lee wants candy he can just go to town and get some himself *nods* Glad to hear you're doing good :) AngelEyes~ Shoutin out a Hey to you too!! And Jennie, Zoey,Turtle & Momx3 too! I Haven't seen TeaEllaBee lately...My fellow West Coaster lol. That is one busy lady.... Hope things are going good for you. L2L & DeeRod~ Hope you're doing ok too... Let us hear a word from you. You all have a great night/day!!! :grouphug: |
Hi everyone! Having a good day here. I almost broke down and ordered pizza since my back hurt after my treatment today but I didn't!
We had a crazy night here with the Sox winning. Fireworks all night. On the subject of halloween I got 100 glowsticks for the kids. You can get them on ebay pretty cheap! Much less then oriental trading! I hope everyone has a good night :) |
Thats a fantastic idea Valerie!!! I bet all the kids LOVE your house. I'll have to remember that next year. :)
|
I think i am going back to MY program.. so far all ive done is gain 2 lbs this week.. hopefully they will come back off when i get back to my circuit training...
|
Good morning ladies. No weight loss to report this morning. I'll try again on Halloween day. I haven't been able to go to the gym all week because of my ankle. I also haven't been able to get my elastic brace yet either. Hope to do that today. The electrician is here already and cutting holes in dry wall. Oh what lovely sounds.
I went back and put in the nutritional information on the nut recipe for you all. Dana Carpender has several of those in her slow cooker cookbook that I plan to try out over the coming weeks like butter spice almonds, maple walnuts, and curried pecans. I'll let you know which ones are good. I'm thinking about making butternut squash soup today. I would have thought this had too many carbs but it actually isn't too bad--about 10 grams per cup. If that is all or most of the carbs for your meal, that is certainly acceptable. I have to get ready to go off to the doctor soon. Yes, the doctor has to go see the doctor. I imagine she'll send me for my first yearly mammogram too since I turn the big 4-0 this year. I've had a couple already for specific reasons but this year I have to start the yearly ones. The joys of getting old. TTYL |
Hey Ladies, I wrote this post last night but I can't find it. Did anyone see it. I swear I hit submit. OH well, I don't think there was much in it.
I got the Winning by losing book. I have been browsing it. and started to read the first few chapters. She says not to use the BMI but your waist to hip ration. Mine is exactly what she says it should be but I know I need to lose a lot of weight still. I think I have the same ration as Marilyn Monroe who was a size 12, Kate Moss who is a size 0. So I dont' really understand what that means. Curly, what else do you do to get the fat percentage from that ratio, just the ratio doesn't seem right. Anyway, I'm looking forward to readying more this weekend. Oh yeah, ITS FRIDAY!!!! I'm excited as always, but the weekend go by so fast. ttyl Jennie |
Just a quick hello to everyone. I have officially joined the TOPs Program. I just got the book "The Choice Is Mine" so I have been reading that, and getting a sense of what I want, what is achievable for me, and what is sensible and reasonable.
I miss you all so much. Hugs to all! I am going to join your Turkey Take-Off or whatever you call it..if you are still doing that challenge. Congrats to all my 'loser' PIC divas! I will post soon, just trying to get through the day, and come up with a plan for myself because I WANT THIS SO MUCH. I can do this, with a little help from my PICs, of course. Bless you all!! L2L |
