oo love the bear! ehh chai weighed 49 lbs yesterday... but he thinks he is a cat, when i am layin on the sofa.. he sees the cats come lay on my belly so he does it also..

he also will come up to u when u are sitting and put a paw on each side of your sholders cuz he wants a hug!

yeah he doesnt care too much for strangers... he's a bit fear agressive, he doesnt go after people but growls and snarls when someone approaches him ..

I wish i could afford the dog whisperer...

iwmonn 10-12-2005 11:10 PM

heh that's funny cuz I have a cat that thinks he's a dog! 19 lbs, and yep, he lays on me too. Ol' hubby just shakes his head at us lol.
Is Chai still a puppy? and/or did you get him from a rescue? He sounds great. I can't wait to get a dog. I want a chocolate lab, hubby wants a jack russell lol... but I won't get one til we fence the yard. There's about an acre from the house to the road, but it's a dangerous road and I can't take the chance.

I love my lil rasta Deaddie bear too. I've just gotten around to transferring a bunch of pics from my old laptop to my new one and found a whole bunch of old avatars I used in the old Grateful Dead Chat room.... wow lotsa memories there :)

Anyways... it was a great day here. I ate well, Drank almost half gallon of water, my blood sugar is great (I just checked it), and I did my exercise.

So Everyohne have a wonderful tomorrow! I gotta go watch Dr Phil lol.... hugssssssss :grouphug:

petra65 10-13-2005 07:45 AM

I couldn't even begin to tell you all the crazy antics of my two. Kobe is incredibly jealous. He has to be the center of attention all the time. If Buddy is getting some love, he comes over and actually pushes him out of the way! He also starts barking when I'm on the phone too long, lol! He also likes to lay on top of me in the bed or get under the covers. And I have 90-100 lb dogs!

angel-eyes 10-13-2005 11:24 AM

hehe, Petra....sounds like my 2 boys!!! My dog will also come and nudge under my arm for some petting and scratching.....it gets to be a nuisance when you're actually holding a drink and it spills. Then she licks it up!! lol...I think its part of her master plan!!!

How is everyone today? We started decorating the house yesterday for Halloween and need to buy some more 'grown up' decorations. I was looking thru the box and they were all too cutsie cutsie. yup....we're heading to the store and looking for some 'not so' gruesome tombstones. Can't believe we've already been at our new house for 1 year now. Time sure does fly!!! Has anyone heard from Sunshine? She had her house up for sale. The leaves are all starting to turn and fall....a perfect crisp fall day!!! GET YER PUMPKINS!!! I love this time of year. Ds is starting to feel better, gosh he was so bad with the barky coughs. Thank god the meds are kicking in. oh...btw.....anyone want TOM? Just thought I'd ask, since he's worn out his welcome. Can't say I blame you though...LOL :D

Lisa_WY 10-13-2005 01:09 PM

Howdy, Howdy, Howdy!!!!

I have been so swamped at work...not a good excuse but I haven't been getting on the computer at night, believe it or not...I have been working out. I have gone to the gym for 10 nights straight and jogging on the treadmill most nights. I have really stepped up the exercise.

I have continued to remain smoke free. It will be 3 weeks on Sunday. YIPPEEE for me.

The bad news is the scale was off or I was off on Saturday. THe scale showed a huge gain but I am withholding changing my tracker until this Saturday. I really do think it was a fluke.

I will address everyone indiviually later.. But special thanks to turtle for hunting me down.

Lisa

Happy Thursday

Just getting ready to leave for work. Sigh. Scheduled for a "quadruple shift" from three-thirty PM Friday until eleven-thirty PM on Saturday. Wow! Is that humanly possible? I guess we'll find out.

Yesterday was another day OP and water intake was great, but no formal exercise. Gotta work on that Turtle.

I'll check in from work. It's my last day with my coworker. He's only doing a half day today. I sure will miss that bald Poophead. Sigh... ;)

Hi PIC's,

How's everyone tonight, (today which is more than likely tomorrow by now ;) ) It was another beautiful day here on the northern Cali coast! A rough day work-wise as Thursdays tend to be. A great day food/exercise and water-wise. I'm probably still eating too many calories, but the food I'm eating is so much better for me. I'm doing my video every nite, sometimes feeling I should be doing more. The one mile walk is pretty simple, but the two mile starts hurting my hips pretty bad. I need to check with my dr about that. I'm not sure whether to try something else, or just work through the stinging. Any input there? I haven't opened a bag of chips or had a pastery etc since I started coming to this site. You guys are really inspiration for me, and I'm not sure I can ever thank you all enough for just being here :grouphug:

Petra~ I'll say it again.... We sure do love our animals. Sometimes it is kind of amazing what we will let them get away with, lol.

Angel Eyes~ I love most all holidays. Halloween is the one of the best for decorating! I had the night crew decorate the store last week and came in Sat morning to a very  festive looking workplace, LOL.

LisaWY~ Hey Lady! Nice to hear from you again! **Thanks Turtle**. It's wonderful to hear you're still not smoking. I hope it's getting easier for you. I bet your DD is proud of you! Great Job on keeping up with the exercise, and good luck at the scale on! Visit again soon.

Turtle~ I hope you DO get some time off after that supershift they have you scheduled for! GJ with keeping OP. Thanks for trackin down lost Lisa_WY! I've been wondering about her lol.

jhiraqua~ :welcome3: :woo: (hehe good excuse for a party!) We'd love to see you back often.

Curley~ WooHOOOO you got the gazelle! Do you have it all together? Have you just been on it non stop? Do you feel like you're getting a good healthy workou? lol, sorry about all the q's... i've been thinking about asking for one for Christmas. ...And Yayyyyyy for 241!!!

curlylocks 10-14-2005 06:41 AM

today is gonna be a tuff one for me... not becuz i wont have the will power to say no to the birthday goodies.. but becuz i know at work they will have goodies for me and I will feel bad if i hurt anyones feelings by not indulging in the goodies...

at my exercise place they are planning on having a sugar free. fat free cake and more goodies for me..........

this is gonna be hard.. I guess if i just have a small serving of some of the goodies i wont hurt anyones feelings ..

petra65 10-14-2005 07:27 AM

Happy birthday Curly!!

Welcome to the newest Lisa. I think we have 4 Lisa's now.

Good to see so many people posting and staying on their programs.

I couldn't wait to post my new weight because I haven't gotten to change my tracker in about 3 weeks. I lost 2 lbs this weeks. YIPPEE!!! I'm also still finding smaller clothes in my closet to wear. I have my shopping trip planned for 2 weeks from today.

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

curlylocks 10-14-2005 07:42 AM

way to go Petra :cheer: Bet u cant wait to go get new outfits!

i found some new tops and a pair of old navy bib overalls at the thrift store yesterday!!!

and thanks for the bday wishes! Oh and what was the dosage on the L-carintine? i found some 500 mg pills for 10.00 at walmart

Dee: all the consumer reports ive read say the gazelle is a good workout for people who are not athletes.. and they say it also does take a lot of the joint stress off your body.. i really like it... tho i havent been on it that much.. its going to be my back up for those rainy snowy cold days that are comming up!

jennie934 10-14-2005 09:09 AM

Hey Ladies,
Happy birthday Curly :hb: :woo: be careful with the cake and goodies, I seem to blow it no matter who's birthday it is. heehee. I need to just say no.
TGIF! I did my kickboxing yesterday and 20 min on the ellyptical. I couldn't get up to jog thismoringin though, not sure why, I just couldn't do it. I'll try and get something in tonight. I had a nonscale victory this moring. I went to eat with my son at our favortie breakfast spot and he always gets a waffle and I ussually nibble on it and eat what amounts to a lot of it. Today I ordered oatmeal and only ate my oatmeal, not a single bit!!! yeah me, now if I can just keep these kind of things up.

LisaWY, good job keeping off the smoking, and the excersising, whoo hoo, I wish I could get in 10 day straight!

Dee, keep up the 1 mile WATP I bet the 2 mile will get easier as you lose and as you get your body in better shape.

Angel, my son is begging me to get more halloween decorations, we are living with my sister and she doesn't have any plugs on the outside of her house so I'm not sure how to string the lights and things we have. but it is a fun time of year.

Hotcup, quadruple shift, no fair, I hope you get major over time pay for that one.

Petra, 2#'s how good does that feel. I'm hopeing for a similar result this sunday! keep up the good work.

jhiraqua, welcome to the group, post often we are good for encouragement.

Ok, better get my butt back to work.
Jenni

curlylocks 10-14-2005 10:11 AM

and crab dip made from FF cream cheese.... haha oh and they did have all kinds of food that wasnt OP for me but i picked and choosed, and stayed OP

angel-eyes 10-14-2005 05:01 PM

Happy Birthday Curly!!!. :woo: .....mimiimimi....So glad you can't really hear me sing Happy Birthday to you, cause I'm really tone deaf. haha...but seriously....what a great bunch of friends you have to have such OP goodies for you to eat!!! yes, please post the jello one when you have time!!! Hope you have a fantastic birthday!!! :hb:

Just got back from the drs. office and my son really isn't better with his bronchitis. He now has in addition to his other meds, another antibiotic and a series of nebulizer treatments. HOLY COW!!! What a week this has been. Hopefully these treatments will shake something up and get his lungs better. Our whole afternoon was spent at the drs. and then racing around getting his meds and then the medical supply store.

Congratulations Petra....woohoo!!! That is fantastic about another 2 lbs. I guess you're right about that shopping trip!!! :cb:

jhiraqua 10-14-2005 06:26 PM

Help!!!!!!

It's only been 2 days!2! And I'm already dying for something, anything sweet or breaded. All I can do to keep motivated is think about the bigger picture and even that is reaching it's limit. When will I stop feeling this way? I did the low carb thing a few years ago but I was on the go,go,go and really didn't have time to miss anything. But now that I'm more settled into the single parent thing,my life consists of work and home. All I can think about is food right now and I'm not really hungry. What should I do besides work out which I've already done?

Lisa

angel-eyes 10-14-2005 06:51 PM

Hi Lisa.....HANG IN THERE!!! I would do ANYTHING that doesn't have to do with food right now. How is your water intake today? Most people think they are hungry, when in fact they are thirsty. Did you know that? I'd fill a large drinking bottle (32oz or so) and down half of that for starters. Then do you have any odd jobs to do around the house? Clean your floors, vacuum the carpet, go through your closets, clean the bathrooms....ANYTHING to get your mind off of food. If after 30 minutes you can still only think of food....slice up an apple with some cinnamon and nuke it for 40 secs. YUM YUM....a natural sweet treat. I know these times can be tough, but if you keep your mind (and fingers) busy the craving will pass.

iwmonn 10-14-2005 11:12 PM

Hi Ladies,

First off Happy Birthday Curley!!!!! It really is awesome your friends/coworkers thought of your lifestyle when planning birthday treats! Sounds yummyyyy. And thanks for the info on the Gazelle. I'm nudging towards getting it. :)

Yayyyy Petra! It's fun to move that slider, isn't it? LOL. Congrats!

Jennie~ Oatmeal over waffles, WOW... Good job on your choices. It's really hard to go out to eat and not justify a little treat. Just keep your eye on your goal

AngelEyes~ Hope your son starts feeling better real soon! How are you doing? It takes a lot out of you when your baby's sick, so take care of you too. BTW, Great advice to Lisa about helping with the hunger.

jhiraqua~ Stick with it Lisa! I'm still a newbie and I can't say it will get easier tomorrow, but once you start seeing results it seems to get a lot more tolerable lol... Just don't give up and don't beat yourself up if you fall. Salt and sweets at night are my downfall! I will eat 4-6 triscuts if I'm craving something. Or a sugar free ice cream bar as something real special. Other than that, I drink my water. hehehe I always lose it at work, but evenings I make up for it ;) Good Luck

curlylocks 10-15-2005 07:20 AM

thank u all so much for the birthday wishes... i had a piece of chocolate cake...... I really didnt want it.. but let me tell ya the story..
the place where i work out .. has these 3 young girls (17-20 yrs old) and they had said they were going to bake a sugar free fat free cake... well something happened and the healthy cake didnt turn out right.... so they went out and bought a fat full cake.. and candles and had the candles lit when i got there to work out..

Now how could i hurt their feelings after going to so much trouble?? so i had a small piece with them.. I figured i can always work those calories back off... and it was so sweet of them to go to that much trouble.. then they wanted me to take it home.. but i told them it wouldnt be safe at my house... y didnt they take it with them and share it with some friends...

last night i thought i would color my hair.. and i thought i picked up the color i had before... NOT... now my hair looks raggedy ann color... geez i gotta go to the store today and see if i can find another color and do some damage control..

YIKES!

angel-eyes 10-15-2005 10:31 AM

Curly....Good job on only having one pc of cake. I would have done exactly the same thing. Very nice of them to do all of that for you, you've got some nice friends!! OMG.... :fr: .raggedy anne hair colour?....is that a bad thing? hehe, soooo you don't want to be a rag doll for Halloween?... :sorry: SORRY!!! I couldn't help myself, haha. I would run not walk back to the store and talk with the colour specialist, some of the cosmetics staff usually have had training with that sort of thing. I hope the next colour works out for you!!! :goodluck:

iwmonn......Thanks for the well wishes. I have been a little more on edge since all of this, but more because both boys have been off school on a break and the fighting/teasing has been NON STOP!!! :tantrum: They are 12 and 7, so they are in the..."don't touch me....he did it again....he called me a.....leave me alone" phase. I think only another 15 years before it stops!!! or does it ever stop? Actually some of the meds are making my son a little hyper so he is a real handful. Dr. also said for him to limit his time outside due to the fact that the pollen levels could be heightening (sp?) his bronchial reaction. great!!

Other than that.....my food has been good. I made a killer crockpot lasagna last night, that was all but gobbled up with one portion left. hehe...supposed to serve 10 and we're a family of 4!!! I did well though, I measured out my 1 cup and then snagged a few extra tomatoe chunks. YUM YUM....
Have a good day everyone!!!

~zoey~ 10-15-2005 11:12 AM

I have been lurking around this thread for about a week, reading all 111 pages and I would like to join this very supportive and active group. :)

I am a 68 year old computer geek with less than 50 pounds to lose, so I guess that I don't fit the profile very well, but I'm not sure that there is a forum for old fat computer geeks! :( :comp:

I'm not really a geek, but I did discover computers about 3 years ago when my dh bought one. I got interested, built my own and then when I discovered the world of Linux, I was hooked......good for the brain, but not for the bum.

I spent way too much time sitting and not enough walking, and also ate way too much in there somewhere! :p

The weight went on mostly in my belly and middle, not a healthy place for it at all. I started wearing more 'big shirts' and loose jackets and such when I should have been working to lose the weight instead. :?:

I had a sort of wake up call when I stained our front porch and had difficulty bending over. I took stock and discovered that I am a mess! :o

I have started walking 2 miles 5 or 6 times per week [in hilly Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau], and counting calories. I have lost 10 pounds at the rate of less than a pound per week. :dizzy:

I am a retired RN with 3 kids and 6 grandkids.
I like computers [No!], cats and music.
We have 2 cats, Albert & Zoey

I hope that y'all will let me in! :^:

petra65 10-15-2005 03:57 PM

Welcome to Zoey. I'm a doctor so you'll fit right in. We used to have another nurse but I'm not sure where she went.

jhiraqua-I'm sort of the low carb goddess here. I'm not on Atkins. I'm on protein power. What I'm about to tell you may explain why you feel the way you do but it won't necessarily make it any easier for you right now. All carbs are broken down in your body into sugar and sugar does the same thing in your brain as many addictive substances. That's why many people binge on sweets. When we stop eating large amounts of carbs, we go into withdrawal and have cravings, just like addicts do when they stop using. (how scary is that!) The reason almost all low carb diets have some sort of "induction phase" is to get you through this withdrawal period. It is difficult. Almost everyone has cravings but they will get better. Most people start to feel better by the end of the first week. Some people find eating a cheese stick helps, or organic peanut butter on a celery stick. Another option recommended in South beach is ricotta cheese with a little splenda and an extract of your choosing (actually not bad). Also sugar free jello is a reasonable option. It is really important not to give in to the craving or you just start the cycle all over again. I haven't had any refined sugar in 5 months now. I really have no desire for it anymore and believe me, I was a BIG refined sugar addict.

Hey ladies.... want to see where all the Pic's Members live I created a Frapper Map!
Please go here and add yourself:

http://www.risingconcepts.com/frapper/partnersincrime

It's fun and easy & you can also add a picture.

angel-eyes 10-15-2005 07:57 PM

Curly.....That was so neat and easy to do. Thanks for letting me add my stick pin for MO. I never heard of that before....a 'frapper map' so thats my learning for today! lol oh?...how did your new and improved hair turn out? Hope it got back to a more normal shade.

Hi Zoey and welcome!!! Glad to have you, but you need to post often or we'll hunt you down. haha, seriously though, its nice to meet you. Congratulations on the 10lbs lost so far, and your mile walking is fantastic.

Where is everyone today? Hopefully enjoying the beautiful fall day. It was just gorgeous here today, a nice sunny day. My exciting part of the day was when I shopped for a new iron. exciting eh? The one that I have used to be my mom's and is oh......about 40 yrs old!!! It gave up the goose today when I was doing some of dh's shirts.

iwmonn 10-15-2005 10:14 PM

Happy Saturday Ladies,

So, Today was an OK day. It rained last night, which was nice, ohhh I just wanted to stay in bed this morning. But I had to work so that was just not an option. I let myself go too long without breakfast and by 1pm I was hungry with a Capital H! I had 1/4 teriyaki chicken, 2 Corn thins with some goat cheese, 1/4 cup trail mix and water. So far so good lol... I managed to walk past the fresh cookies, pastries and croissants today too!!! Anyway, the "OK" part part of the day is that I'm not feeling like exercising tonight. Maybe I'll change my mind later but what I feel like doing is just laying in bed with a book and relax.

Curley~ What awesome friends to go thru all that for you! I'm sure one small piece of cake is ok. Eventually we'll all be faced with having to practice moderation. I love the map! It'll be neat to see what a small world it really is :).

AngelEyes~ yummm lasagna. Crock pot none the less! hehe I love my crock pot.

Zoey~ Welcome ~ WoooHoooooo another party!! lol :welcome3: Post often. You'll find great info and great tips.

Speaking of great info...... Petra~ that was a very informative post. Being diabetic I knew some of it, but not quite such detail. A little refresher never hurts and acutally it really helps things make sense. Thanks!

YOu all enjoy your Sunday. I'll be thinking of each and every one of you while I'm ignoring the cookies again lol... :grouphugs:

Lisa_WY 10-15-2005 11:08 PM

Howdy All,
I am still around. Had to do some retail therapy today.

Curly: Glad you had a Happy Bday!!!

Petra: I need your advice!! I have been smoke free for 3 weeks..it is playing havic on the scale. I really don't want to "quit" again so the smoking is probably not an option (besides M would kill me) but it is killing me to see any gain but these gains have been unreal. Is this possible? I am not eating more...exercising very well... but several WW friends said I probably wasn't eating enough for the extra exercise. I am having a hard time finding balance.

I am going to track everything I eat and I am going to start weigh in on Monday's instead of Saturday am's. My leader really made me mad this morning about the gain and upset me a lot. I am tried of paying for the meetings and not staying for them. This morning was not an option to stay..I was in tears before I was out the door.

I want to welcome the new Lisa,Zoey and anyone else. I am Lisa in Wyoming.. I am doing WW and up until 2 weeks ago after quitting smoking..I was doing very well. I will be 40 next year and my goal is to be a normal weight. I have been married for 8 years and we have a 5 year old daughter, Mallissa or M.(Her name is like Mississippi and has all those extra letters..M is so much easier. LOL)

Angel: M was asked to audition for the Twas the Night Before Christmas Ballet in December. Everyone cross their fingers. LOL She is doing that next week and very excited. Also she has a piano recital and I have to make the dress. That is also next week. I also bought the pattern and material for her and Skyler's(Dave's granddaughter) Christmas dresses plus I found some old material for Carrie's(other granddaughter) that will be close enough to the other girls. If I have enough material I will make the cousin one too. LOL Not sure I want to do 4 this year. LOL Plus I have to make Sweetie one (M's doll) LOL

Turtle: How did the MOuntaineers do today? I know my dad is in heaven watching them and cheering them on. Did I tell you my family was from Parkesburg?

Iwmonn: GLad you are on track. Thanks for asking about me.

Well I promise I will be better about checking in. I will talk to everyone soon!

Lisa
Wyoming

iwmonn 10-15-2005 11:44 PM

LisaWY,
Keep the faith GF! When I quit, the first thing my Dr. told me was that my metabolism will slow down so i should exercise or I may gain weight and that I really needed to watch for it, and deal with it. LOL Well, I didn't, I did, I didn't and I didn't. That is what brought me here. Stepping on that scale 5 months after quitting and seeing 20 more pounds than the last time I had weighed. I would think your extra exercise would counter the slowed down metab tho. Also, with the extra exercise could you be gaining muscle weight? I'm not the dr and I'm gonna wait for Petra's input. I just wanted to let you know I'm rooting for you. Don't let your leader get you down Lisa..... quitting smoking is as important as weight loss too. You're body will catch up with you. Keep on track.... :goodluck: and http://wemissjerry.org/smiles/hug.gif

Happy Birthday Turtle!!!

angel-eyes 10-16-2005 09:41 AM

:woo: Happy Birthday Turtle!!! :woo:
Hope you have a fantastic day. Do tell....how old are you today? Any special plans. I sure hope that squeak is feeling better by now, gosh its been forever. Let us know how you're doing GF!!

Lisa..... You are going to be one crazy sewing MAMA!!! :yikes: Not one, not two...but 4 dresses?....When you were telling us about M's dress, I had a beautiful vision of her at her recital all dressed up. You know she'll be telling EVERYONE....My mom made me this dress!!.....and the same for her barbie. I was at Target the other day doing some quick errands, and they already have some of their party dresses out. I couldn't believe it....velvets, satins...Please post a picture when you are done, I'd love to see it. And hang in there with the smoking!!! Change meetings if you need more support for ww's and come here more often....we don't charge.

Here it is early Sunday morning, and dh just left for his conference in NJ. He won't be back for 4 days, so I'm left holding the fort down. The boys go back to school tommorow and my days will be my own again....woohoo, here I come gym!!! :cb: It was very hard making it to the gym this week with my son sick. I think I did all right though with my food and staying OP, might have had a little too many carbs on a couple of days but other than that we'll see at tommorows weigh in. I need just one more little pound loss for another flower... :flow1: ....I think I can...I think I can!!! My mini success yesterday was bringing home some donuts for everyone, and only having 2 mini donut holes for me!!! YEAH.. :cheer: oh? who wants a visitor?....TOM is getting booted out the door TODAY!!! good riddance I say

jhiraqua 10-16-2005 10:11 AM

Thanks!

For all the advice and support guys! I'm taking it day by day and know that I'll make it this time. I had a little set back last night. I went to my nephews birthday party and you can guess what happened from there. :^: I felt so guilty that I even considered ridding myself of what I'd eaten but after I found myself on my knees at my nephews birthday party in front of the toilet,I realized how desperate and irrational I was bieng! Imagine, seriously considering causing myself more problems by starting an eating disorder! :dizzy: How stupid was I bieng? Instead of practicing self control I allowed myself to overindulge and then wanted the easy way out. No,way Jose! That just made me more determined to stick with it. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE TURTLE!!!!

Curly-I forgot to answer your L-carnitine question. The answer is at least 1000 mg. I try to get between 1000-1500 but you can go as high as 3000 mg. It takes about a week before you start to notice.

Lisa-iwmonn is on the money. Nicotine raises your metabolism, so when you quit, your metabolism slows down. Also, with all that exercise you've been doing I"m sure you put on some muscle which everyone knows weighs more than fat. What you are doing is so important to your health, don't get discouraged by the scale. Keep the faith. You will get there.

jhriqua-good job on not making a bad situation worse. so you had a little set back? just get right back on the wagon and keep going. It sounds like maybe you have decided to go with a low glycemic diet instead of strict low carb? I'm going to tell you about a diet I think is fantastic even though I'm not on it. You'll probably have to order the book if you are interested. It's called The Four Corners Diet. It's a low carb diet but it allows you to eat up to 50 grams of carbs a day. It only has a 1 week induction, and the nutritional advice is so sound you can't go wrong. Even though I'm not on this diet, I try to incorporate some of it's principles into my plan and it may end up being my lifelong plan.

I bought two new low carb cookbooks yesterday. I got Dana Carpender's 500 More Low Carb Recipes which is a collaborative work with a lot of her fans. I also got one called Saving Dinner the Low Carb Way. I made one of the recipes from the Dana Carpender book this morning--nothing fancy but not something I would have come up with on my own. Warning, this is not an induction recipe. It was a brie and walnut quesidilla with low carb tortillas. OMG!!! I also had strawberries with no carb whipped cream to round out the meal.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Hi de ho partners !!

I had a quick few minutes while the kettle is boiling that I thought I should take a minute to check in with everyone. So here goes

Time sure does get away from me and I am finding it hard to check in with you all regularly. I will have to make a point of taking the last 5 minutes of the day to check in and see how you are all doing... I certainly don't want to lose touch with the group.

My weight loss efforts have pretty much tanked... I don't think I have stepped on scale for the past few weeks, but I know that I have to. I really need to do something about this weight, but I seem to put myself about 4th in the list behind hubby, work and school. The time will come when I can dedicate more time to myself, I just need to be patient and not do alot of extra damage in the meantime.

Hotcup ~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! Hope all is going well for you and that you have the wonderful day that you deserve.

Petra ~ thanks for all the continued support and information that you provide to the group, always look forward to your posts.

Curly ~ the map thing is awesome.. a great idea for a group as I am terrible at geography, so it is nice to see where you are all from.

Angel ~ enjoy your days at the gym, I am sure that you will find lots of great classes to attend.

Jhiraqua ~ welcome to the group. Congrats on making a wise choice at the bday party, we all have set backs.. we gain strength in how we deal with them.

Iwmonn ~ good luck with the cookie avoidance..you can do it !!

Lisa ~ so proud of you for sticking with the no smoking. I have a good friend is undergoing radiation/chemo for lung cancer and last I saw her she was still smoking..I wish she could find your strength. Right now you are fighting 2 addictions (food/cigarettes).. some times one will win over the other, but you are doing awesome..keep up the fight !!

Zoey ~ welcome to the group..post often !!

Jennie and Mom ~ hope everything is going well for you and that you are taking care !

Well I hope that I got everyone.. this group seems to be an ever changing cast of characters. A shout out to the old cast members..Dee, Annie, L2L, Moonray.. where are you gals ?!?!?

Okay gang have a wonderful Sunday.. I am off to make a java and hit the books.. I have my first exam coming up next Saturday so I must be prepared.

I will talk to you all soon !! TTFN ~ Teri

Hey Everyone,
well today was my WI, and I lost!!! 1.8 thaks goodness, this new plan is easier than I had thought and I'm feeling good and seeing results. I'm a core convert. for so long I was diong the flex at WW, recording everything, and loseing but not all the time. Hopefully this will last and my dedication will contiue. Busy week as usual, I want to go and get some new jeans, I was hopeing to wait until I was in a 14 but my jeans are so old and they are litterally falling to shreds. I might hit the gap today.

Jhiraqua- this plan I'm on is a kind of a low card, it more like southbeach, you can have carbs if they are not refined, so whole wheat, and whole grains, its cool, once about a week or so went by, I really havn't felt to many cracvings, at work, I even passed on the cookies, in the past I would have had one and been mad at my self. Now birthday cake, I dont' think I could pass on that, I think I would have had some and moved on, just like you did. We still have to keep living, we jsut have to make better choices, and it sounds like you are doing it.

Turtle, happy b-day!!!

TEB, welcome back, I know what you mean about the changing cast, I'm glad you still check in. I miss you.

Lisa WY, quiting smoking is hard and you were losing so well for so long. Its probably the single healthies thing you could do so keep at it and don't give up. Your body will balance out and you will start to lose again.

Curly, I've had hair problems before, raggadey anne sounds kind of cute.

Zoey welcome! I didn't know we had a profile, maybe I should go back and read page one, all are welcome.

Hey, Iwmonn, Petra, angel, and anybody I missed,
ttyl
Jennie

ty petra!!! I also did some research on my metformin.. my dr has me taking it ... 500 mg 2x a day.. but the recommended dose for weight loss is 500 mg with each meal... 3x a day.. think i might try it 3x a day see if it has an effect on my being stuck for so long..

petra65 10-16-2005 04:22 PM

Curly-I added myself to the frapper map. Cute idea.

Jennie-you and I see seem to be neck and neck on the weight loss. Wonder who will get to the 200 lb mark first? ;) I had commented before about WW Core being very similar to South Beach. I think they changed it just enough to avoid a lawsuit for copyright infringement.

I have been on a cooking frenzy today. I'm making cauliflower cheese soup in my crockpot that I'm mostly going to freeze. Hope it freezes well. The cauliflower was beautiful and cheap this week so I couldn't pass it up even though it is a pain in the :censored: to chop up.

I'm also making this pumpkin pudding thing. I"ll tell you how it turns out. Oh, and I had shrimp in a homemade alfredo sauce over dreamfields pasta. I have a love/hate relationship with dreamfields pasta. I love the stuff but feel like I really shouldn't be eating the stuff. I only made one serving so at least I don't have leftovers.

angel-eyes 10-16-2005 08:03 PM

ohhhhh, you certainly have been chef Petra today!!! I LOVE....cauliflower cheese soup!!! Perfect for a nice freezin' cold winters day!! haha  Which will be soon enough I reckon.

I made a really good chicken stroganof a' la crockpot today, a little bit of a thin sauce but non the less, delish. Yeah, I know what you mean about pasta....I always keep my handy dandy measuring cup beside me when I serve my portion. I feel so bloated after having some and if I don't measure, my portion size almost doubles!!! (or triples)

Zoey....you DO know I was kidding about my iron right? :D Straight from the store...straight to the ironing cupboard. There was no bonding done.

What was everyone else up to today? Been pretty quiet here in PIC land. Tommorow's the big weighin.....whose going to have a drum roll? same bat channel, same bat station. :goodvibes

iwmonn 10-16-2005 10:03 PM

Hey Now P'sIC,

What a beautiful day here on the coast! The sun is back and it's warm and nice yayyyyy! So I did manage to skip the cookies agian today- easiest day yet lol... the oven was broken at work hehehe... Tomorrow's my Friday and I can't wait.

I've got dinner in the oven, and getting ready to do my videowalking. I did skip it last night, I think I needed to.

Lisa_WY~ hugs to ya!

Petra~ I think I'm going to find hThe Four Corners Diet. My Dr recommends low carb/low glycimic for me (nothing as strict as atkins which she doesn't agree with), and it sounds like something I may be able to work with :) I already know those diets are too strict for me to stick with. ...And Oh My Word, those quesidilla sound heavenly!

Curley~ I love your map, but I don't wanna be the only one with my pic up, lol. Can you delete it? I can't find a place for me to edit my post there. Thanks. Have you used your gazelle at all yet? Metformin for weight loss??? I'd be interested to hear more cuz I think that's the next oral they are going to put me on to help control my blood sugar.

jhiraqua~ Good job! Been there/done that (finger down the throat scene) and look at me now lol.. I ain't no skinny minny heheheh.... Its' been years but I remember feeling guilty and stupid for doing it, but I kept it up. Oddly enough I usually did it because I was too full and needed to make room for more. Anyways, I'm fortunate I recognized early on that it was not the magic key to getting thin! And so are you! You're on the right path Lisa. Slow and steady wins the race ;) Good Luck Today!

Jennie~ WoooHOOOOO!! Glad your plan is working for you. Congratulations!!!

Zoey~ hehehe and active group is a happy group, right? Glad to see you back too!

TeaElleBee~ Try to find some time for you! It's important.

AngelEyes~ 4 days without the DH. Time to stretch out and sleep corner to corner on the bed, lmao. That's my favorite thing to do when mine's away. But I'm always glad when he gets home.

Happy late birthday Turtle, whereever you are tonight!!!! Blow out all the candles and I hope you get your wish!

'Till next time Ladies, :grouphug:

angel-eyes 10-17-2005 12:09 AM

Iwmonn.....hehe, YOU READ MY MIND!!! No really, as soon as he leaves....I'm stretching out as far as a can, corner to corner.....and I'm talking as soon as he gets in the SHOWER!!! Back to the frapper map thing... I like your picture, great xmas sweater btw. I wish I was more computer savvy and knew how to do that stuff.
