Clothing sizes vary with everything. I can now wear a Walmart brand size 12 stretch jean though. Gotta love that.
yes! congrats! and I just love the 'stretch' that is in jeans now. really helps shape things a bit better.
This might be my last post for a few days, we leave for Myrtle Beach tomorrow afternoon. Husband is bringing the laptop along, but don't know if I'm dedicated enough to post from the road, but maybe
take care, chicks!! and see you in about a week, if not sooner.
Have a fantastic trip, Holly!! I'm so jealous! I shouldn't be, I've been riding plenty lately - but I haven't been to a rally in a long while.
wannabsexy - sizes are crazy. I have 3 jeans that all fit me pretty well. One pair is 14 with stretch. A couple others are 10's with no stretch. One is 12 with stretch but they are a little baggy. My biggest problem is the part that sticks out in the back - I have a small waist relative to my thighs...I try on a LOT of pairs before I buy anything.
sugyong - jogging - you go, girl!! Today IS what matters.
deborahb - my answer to the hair problem is kind of given away by my screenname. The only drawback is that once you put the hat on, you don't really want to take it off.
Well two days now and I'm still in the saddle. I have to admit that my program allows one day a week where you can have whatever you want even though I was saving it for saturday this week, the kids (3 of them) all had happy meals and ate the fries, leaving the cheeseburgers. I was good, though, and gave 2 to the dog and had one for myself. So I chalked it up to having had my one day off program this week.
I can do it, I've done it before, I can do it again!
um you've lost almost a hundred pounds!! That's nothing to sneeze at! I was 155 in high shool and up to 205 after the kids.... seems like I've been fighting the same pounds so long I know them all by name. LOL!
My resolve has been wavering and it's possible I stole an illegal bite of something this morning... I just have to keep telling myself that I want to be in shape for the big tourneu this fall!
Big news - I rode an actual motorcycle yesterday. Imagine that? And even bigger news - I didn't kill myself or anyone else. We aren't going to get the bike I was riding, it's too tall for me. It was a 1980 Honda 500 something or other....looked kinda like this Also the engine sticks out on both sides and I burned both legs a couple times. Any hoo - I think it's time for a bigger bike. I'm looking for something cheap DH can make pretty...maybe a HD sportster....patience, Gina, patience....
I know what you mean saying patience. I am running out of patience in trying to learn to ride mine. I did tell the dh that when he gets home today, I am taking my bike out. Tired of waiting all the time.
hi gang!! we got back yesterday morning. We were delayed because the night we got to Myrtle Beach, dh's bike had an electrical problem - wouldn't start!!! we had to call a tow truck, and that bike sat at the shop from Saturday (the 12th) morning until 7:00 pm Tuesday!!
So we had to two-up on my bike for the whole time around Myrtle Beach. Guess who rode "queen" I guess it would have looked funny having me pilot with big husband behind Anyway, at least we weren't bikeless. We made the best of it. However, I found out that my passenger seat is hurtful after about 5 miles!!! I started to cringe each time we would venture out. Oh well. I'm not planning on spending too much time back there
I didn't stick to good eating at all. I haven't gotten on the scale, afraid to! Back to regimen today.
i was able to critique myself in some of the pics my husband took. I hate my big arms and the overall look of just having too much meat on me. Good incentive to work harder.
When we left Albany yesterday morning, it was COLD. 42 degrees, and then we were cruising at 80 mph on the Interstate to make good time. Wonder what the windchill factor is at that temp and speed! I tried to dress for it - this is what I had on - jeans, chaps, heat packet warmers in my boots, tank top, long sleeved T, hoodie, rain jacket, leather (the rain jacket under the leather seems to work really well to help cut the wind) fleece neckwarmer, bandana on lower face, bandana on head, heat packets in gloves. And I was still cold But we made it.
YAY - Holly good to see you back and thawed out. Bummer about having to share a bike - but I guess it's better than no bike at all like you said.
Where the F are Jill and Andrea and the other chickies? Star? Calling all lurkers.. 2frus is around the boards, too
I know I say this all the time...but I think I'm starting to click back into weight loss mode....it's all in my head. I need to work harder at planning ahead.
Well...the scoot is in the garage waiting for a new hub....I got a flat tire on Thursday...actually 2 flat tires, one on the bicycle I started to roll to work on...had to go home and get the scoot. Anyhoo - while I was switching out the scooter flat I noticed the wheel was kinda wobbly....in a way it's kinda lucky I got the flat or I might not have noticed how wobbly the hub was for a while. I should also mention the two flat tires was the same day I murdered the coffee grinder and in the evening we bought a new coffee grinder...it fried too...on top of it all my laptop turned into a paperweight.... I've got someone looking at it this weekend to see if there is anything to be saved. I dragged my work laptop home....so at least I can still go online. It's just a PITA to drag it home at night. Especially if I want to ride the bicycle in.
I'm headed to the bike shop to get a new rear tire and tube for the bicycle...and an x bike session to practice leading a class...
I'm bummed, the first motorcycle rally around here started yesterday, and we can't go becuz we are still planting. They held it a week early this year. Oh well my oldest loaded up this morning and left for conesville without us. Have a great weekend
I'm not lurking just busier then all get out. This past weekend was tremendously busy. But I have done well on my eating. I have also managed to make sure I hit the gym at lunch everyday and upped my workouts. Hopefully that will start the scale moving in the right direction again.
This weekend was a blast though. We took a friend of mine out for her 21st birthday. She calls me mama and has since she was 14, so my best friend and I hit the clubs with her Friday night, that was after a choir concert for my oldest daughter and a baseball game for my son. I got home about 4 am. Saturday was filled with 2 baseball games and a soccer game and then Sunday was baseball and softball.
This weekend I take my MSF class for the second time. I passed the written the first time around but not the riding. However, this time I have managed to be on my bike some as well as taking some private lessons. I will pass both parts this time around.
gotta fly and catch up on lots of emails. I am too far behind. Stay on track all.
Hey wannab - how did it go? The riding test is tough.
to christabell3! The season has just begun - hopefully you can make the next rally!
I'm still plugging along, the scooter is back on blocks waiting on a new tire. I've been on the bicycle while the weather is still nice. The only problem with tons of cardio is convincing myself that I can't eat like a horse to compensate. I've had to move my ticker in the wrong direction.
Hey Chick, The riding test went awesome. I pulled 98's on both the written and the riding so I passed with flying colors. Here is the kicker I did it in the rain!!!! Yes it rained all day on Sunday. I was very wet and tired but very excited. I think I shocked even the dh. The class ran so far over the time on Sunday and he hadn't heard from me that he was afraid I was going to come home and say that I had failed it again and was worried for me. When I gave him my scores he was more excited then I was.
Monday afternoon we went back through my favorite parking lot so I could get the feel of my bike again and then we went through our subdivision and another one that are light on traffic but gave me the chance to take her out on the street. I was thrilled when I took her up to 45 then he reminded me the speed limit is only 35 on the road we were on. hehehe.
I will be getting out more and more now.
Hope everyone is doing great. I have changed my workout routine again. Now I get up at 5:30 every morning and walk 2 miles in about 40 minutes with a friend of mine and use the gym at lunch to do weights and toning.
Hi All! Sorry I've been MIA. My son got married on May 24 and it has been crazy! It was fun but what a lot of money and work. Just glad to be the grooms mom and not the brides. I have stayed the same in the weight for a few weeks but I am OK with that with all the crazy upside down stuff going on. I am kicking it into high gear. I want to get the rest of this weight off before my cruise in October. I stay pretty busy in the summer months but promise to pop in now and again to say a big hello to all my biker babes on 3fatchicks. Sounds like everyone is doing well. Take care and keep on Keep'n on!
I decided this is a thread I needed to write on. I'm brand new to 3FC. I'm 35 with four daughters. I've riden motorcycles for about 13 years. When I got married and started having babies I stopped. Last year for my 9th anniversary by husband bought me a Yamaha FZ-6, sort of a European sports bike. I'm a bit grannyish driving it, and likely will be until my kids are older but love it. I'll teach my husband to ride this summer. He'd never even been on a bike until I got mine and he's riden on back. Anyway, I want to look good on my sexy red bike but have got a bunch of weight to lose first.
I look forward to getting to know everyone.
