Today I have started again in earnest. Last night was a disaster. The freezer kept calling me to eat the ice cream and the funny thing is I'm not an ice cream lover. I like large portions of food.Salty things are not my bag either, I don't use much even in cooking and that goes back to the days when my Dad wasn't allowed salt so growing up never developed a taste for it. I've been known to send food back in a restuarant because the food was so salty. I think I am buying a food scale and going to start to measure my food. I have big eyes and don't know what a real portion should be. My daughter joined sparkspeople.com on the internet and so far is doing well. I don't think I need to pay for diet help as by this age enough people have made money off my fat and I know what I have to do. Wish me luck. Thhe real test comes tonight as we are going out for dinner with friends. Bernice

Hello everyone: Hope you all are doing well. Wanna know my weight huh?
Ugh. The highest I have ever been in my whole life was I think 212. At 5 feet 3 thats pretty scary. I started this newest self improvement at 178 and just the other day I weighed in a 170 So! I am pleased with myself for that. Bonnie I also love salt. Don't know why. I also am addicted to peanut butter. I just don't get that one. So.........I don't have peanut butter in the house. The dynamics of obesity (or overweightedness!)!!! I eat when I am stressed or tired. How about everybody else??? I often am very impressed with the dramatic weight losses of the gastric bypass/stapling surgeries but I wonder if People will gain the weight back? I don't eat because I am hungry!! What do you all think? Starting to feel better now. I hope none of you gets that upper respiratory infection. Yuk! sure glad I don't smoke anymore! Linda

OK went out for dinner and was good till dessert. Actually went to friend's house first and had a club soda and none of the horr deorves. The restuarant almost didn't serve us because we missed our 8:30 reservation and got there at 9 and I think my friend went into the kitchen and pressed the palm of the chef cause suddenly we were not a problem anymore. We were the only ones in the place and I guess n the country they just close the kitchen at 9 and that's it. Anyway had a salad with a little blue cheese dressing, some bread with butter which I usually don't partake in but I was really hungry as all I had eaten was breakfast. Dinner was rack of lamb with veggies and mashed potatoes but I only ate half. Dessert was another matter. Because the other couple ordered dessert (their fault-LOL) I felt like I was given permission to do the same and I ordered a tiramisu that I sort of shared with my DH however I really ate most of it. Trouble is I have no guilt for my transgressions. Bad!
Today I had a fried egg in Pam with 2 strips of turkey bacon, 1/2 a toasted bagel, small amt of margerine and coffee with skim milk. Lunch was a frozen quesidilla and coffee and skim milk
As for frame size, can't remember if I answered Bonnie's question. Medium boned. Really in my next life I'd like to be small boned and about 5 ft 3 in and wear a size 4. I love fantasy.
Hope everyone's having a pleasant Sunday, it's cool here in Jersey. By the way, we called about tickets to Luciano Pavarotti's concert in Aug and would you believe they have the nerve to charge 604.25 a ticket That's right 604.25. What nerve. Hope nobody goes. Bernice

Linda, Forgot to answer your question. live in Sparta, NJ which is in the Northwest part of the state. Probably 45 minutes from Paterson. We probably are the loveliest part of the garden state because we are mountains and lakes and near the Pocono Mts of Pennsylvania.

Nine lbs!!! Hooray for you!!! Congratulations and thank you so much for the motivating happy faces! Sounds like everybody is in the same mindset that we need to watch out for our health. Weighed in today. Still the same but I am not discouraged! 8 lbs since the 4th of July isn't bad. But I can't wait to reach the next plateau. Walked again today and good grief I thought I would melt by the time I got back to my house. Even though it is so hot I still enjoy walking outside more than being on the treadmill.Yep old Jersey girl. Raised in Little Falls. Also lived in the country of the Pocono Mts for.. probably 12 years or so. Also lived in Oregon and my most recent move from No. Va (don't know why I am writing all of you my whole hx!) THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD IS STILL IN N.J. I miss it! Oh well.. I am getting tired. Good night one and all..........Linda

Hello everybody. I think I am going to get a post-it with everybodys names on it. I can't keep "ya-all" straight! Each one of you helps me to stay motivated! Let me ask another question of all members here. What do you do to reward yourselves when you reach a personal weight loss goal? I have decided to buy myself some 1940-1950 type earrings. A pair came yesterday from e-bay. What about everybody else? Gotta go to work. Have a nice evening and will chk in later. Linda
