Oh man! I did not get myself back on the wagon yesterday. I ended up having pizza, too much pizza. I'd been craving it for so long, and I just couldn't bear the thought of more turkey, so I caved. But today I'm back to work, so should be back on a normal routine. Keeping my fingers crossed...

Arabella, don't work ALL day! Good luck getting ready for your parties! I don't have anyone coming here until Christmas day, and I'm already freaking out. I wanted to have a few neighbors over this weekend, but I think I have to bail on that cause I just won't be ready in time. The basement has coughed up a truckload of decorations into the dining room, and I'm a bit overwhelmed. Hmmmm, maybe I should downsize my stash and make it a bit easier on myself.

Should be getting ready to leave for work - blecch!

Let's make some progress today! Have a good one!

Oh man! I did it again! Pizza, that is... I can't seem to get myself back in gear. Those dang Hershey Kisses are still at work, and that's what got me off course today. By the time I came home from work, I had that "already screwed up today" thing going on, and I just went out and got pizza. I know better (don't we all?), but I did it anyway.

OK, Carri, we've got to jump back on that wagon! Tomorrow's a shiny new day...

Well here it goes... As you know I was MIA due to illness. Nothing more than a cold. So Monday I went to my the heart doctor. Well they want more testing. On the strip from my heart moniter that I had to wear 24 hrs. There were a couple spots where my heart beat was 167 in 11 beats. Which isn't good. The doctor said this then said it would be better if it was from the upper chambers but it looks like they are from the bottem ones. She then said which is very bad. Since they pump the blood. I didn't ask details on the what ifs... she went and got another heart doctor and were looking at my strips then they said lets walk outside. I couldn't hear them and boy did I try!!
She walks in with him and they ask a me more questions. Like if I swell up, faint shortness of breath and on and on. All are no... just I can feel my heart beating really fast at times and got very umcomfortable once because it kinda hurt. So then I ask what times were these beats off since I don't recall feeling them happen. One was at 3:10 am. I was sleeping the other they didn't say and I forgot about it since they were showing me the strip. I was thinking it was when I had finished working out. The doctor asked about my workouts I said I mostly do the walk and jog dvd. 4 miles Walk Away The Pounds. He said no more jogging.. then asked if my knees hurt when I do it. I said yes but I've had bad knees from long ago and since it's getting cold out I feel them more. Still no jogging. I can walk. I have to come in for a stress test which they should have called by now for when I could get in. I also have to wear a heart monitor for 30 DAYS!!!! To which they are on back order for the one I need. It sends data directly to the doctor and the maker with a cell phone that I have to carry along with the monitor. The last monitor pads (sticky things I had stuck on my body) gave me such a rash and itched terrible! That was only for 24 hrs I can't imagin 30 days! I'll do what I must. Right now I'm taking this all in and preparing for the worsed. I have no idea what treatment are and what then next steps are if they find stuff. I do know I will keep eating healthy and due my best to lose even with the cardio limits. I don't know how I'll do it. Cutting calories I guess..

Morning All

Mez - so good to hear from you...I am sorry that you are having to go through all of this worry with your heart. I know wearing the device for 30 days will be annoying but it will be for the best, to see what exactly is going on and how to fix it ( if needed ). I will be thinking of you....in the mean time I would do as you said, keep on track with your eating and only do the walking that you can do. Hugs

Auntie G's pizza has rubbed off on me and I had it last night, only three slices but they were deluxe with everything on them...so not so good...today some of the girls here at work want to go to the Pizza Hut buffett, I thought about going and having one slice and the salad bar...

Arabella - How are you doing?

Hope you all have a good day, talk to you later.

Two days pizza free, now, but zero days chocolate free. I am starting fresh on Saturday, since that's the normal beginning of the diet week for me. I feel horrible, but I can't stop picking up those Kisses when I walk by them. I need to get my head back in the game!

Carri, yep, pizza and chocolate are just about the best, worst things in the world. So sad... Did you go to the buffet? I don't think I could do that if I was ON, cause there's no way I'd want to just eat one slice. But today? Maybe I would go ... When I'm in control, I know I have to stay away until that one splurge meal of the week. Somehow, it works out fine. But it's getting re-started after a fall that seems to be a problem for me. Ugh!

Mez, sorry to hear about your situation. I had to wear that 24 hour monitor once, years ago, too. It showed some weird stuff, but they never did any further testing. Even though it'll be a pain to wear one for a month, it'll be good to find out if something's going on that should be fixed. I also did a stress test a few years ago, after a routine physical resulted in a "weird EKG". Well, they didn't come up with anything from that either. They ended up saying that some people just have abnormal heartbeats. So, either way, all will be fine! Keep your spirits up and your calories down!

Post Spirits up, calories down -- sounds like a plan!

I started this week going great guns but stress, busy-ness and fatigue got to me on Tuesday and I fell off the wagon. I haven't been way off-plan (other than four big sugar-free, gluten-free PB cookies on Tuesday). Which is why I've maintained this week. Not going to get to Onederland this way. So, this is me, recommitted. I've got to be prepared for weak moments. I really was doing great and feeling better. But in a frantic moment I literally forgot that I was on Day 4 of a challenge, committed to good behavior. Can't let that happen again. Nuh-uh!

Mez, so sorry to hear your unsettling news! I also had similar happen, irregular heartbeat. Turned out to be nothing.

Auntie g, darn those kisses! So many people say not to even try to lose this time of year and you can see why. But even a maintain is so much better than a gain.

Carri, I'm still sick. This is just one of those things that hangs on and a lot of people seem to have it. Good luck with your pizza plan!

K, I've got to get ready to go to the gym, then off to WI. Never skipping, no matter what.

Let's take this day and do our level best with it.

Arabella, thanks for the reminder about not skipping WI. Jiminy cricket! You'd think I already knew that one, since I've preached about it numerous times. But I was planning to not weigh in tomorrow, since I know it will be bad. DUH! The first step is a doozy on the slippery downward slope. OK, I'm going to WI tomorrow, all official-like, whether I like it or not. And you're absolutely right - a maintain is better than a gain, especially at this time of year.

Today I know will not be smooth, because we are having a little get together tonight which includes some less than ideal foods, and some, um, imbibing... But tomorrow begins the new commitment for me!

Alrighty, then... let's have a good one!

Thumbs up One down!

Party #1 over and done with and, if anything, I ate less than I should have. I skipped the stuffing, potatoes, pasta salad, rolls, dessert. Ended up with a little turkey, a spoonful of cranberries, a little salad and steamed veggies.

Auntie g, you are so right -- skipping WI is the slippery slope. That "forgetting" thing? I am soooooo familiar with it. And it takes me a long time to get things like that fixed in my head but I am absolutely not, ever, skipping WI again. And this is going to get me where I want to go, some day. Reminds me -- my usual WI would be Boxing Day so I'll try to go early Christmas week.

Anyway, I intend to start each day with a plan for how to get through it, including knowing what I can eat should I get hungry and what I can do instead of eating if I want to eat but am NOT hungry.

So. I'm up, showered, dressed. breakfast and makeup next and then I'm off to dress rehearsal. The dry cough I've had with this stupid cold seems to be better today, which is a v. good thing.

Mez, Carri

Let's take this day and make it work for us!

Hi girls! Reality check WI today- I'm up 1½ lbs, but it could have been WAY worse. In fact it's felt way worse, but now it's gonna get better!

Arabella, you're on a roll - keep doin' what you're doin'! Glad you're healing up, too. Ah, Boxing Day! I just got official word that I can have off work that day, so, yay!

Gotta get ready to head out for one last elusive Christmas present... Have a great weekend, everyone!!!

Hello everyone! Well test are done and hopefully I can call tuesday and find out the results. If there isn't a rule against it. If not I'll have to wait until Jan 13. Eeek didn't think of that number til I typed it. The feedback I've gotten is lots of people have this silly heartbeat that makes me feel better.
Still trying to catch up with my shopping. I have about 1/2 dozen people left. Today I'm going to try and get most done. So off.. happy holidays everyone!

Thumbs up Fresh start Monday!

The Messiah's done for this year, other than the sing-along one and all went well. We had a nice dinner with our friends who are also in the choir. I confess to eating a few potato chips and a single, tiny baklava. Back on track today though and planning to stay on. Even though I can feel that nagging little voice reminding me that there are goodies in the house. I think I need a little extra R&R today so I should make sure I get it. O/w, I so often end up substituting food. And we know where that story ends up.

Mez, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you! Hope you get your results tomorrow and that they're GOOD! :

Auntie g, so glad you're getting Boxing Day! I'm going to try to get two long weekends out of the holiday season. So many people get time off and I'm a little jealous.

K, if I'm looking at taking some time off I'd better get some work done NOW. Let's make this a good one!

Hee hee, I like the elf! I've been elfing all over the place today. Got lots of chores and Christmas cards done while my car was in the shop for inspection. Also made my fabulous spaghetti to get me through the week on track as much as possible. There's still PMS and chocolate to consider, but meals will be fine.

Mez, I hope your test results are good! You're right, a lot of people have irregular heartbeats, so don't get too frazzled worrying. How'd you make out on the shopping? I think I'm officially finished now, but oh, do I have to get wrapping!

Arabella, sounds like you're doing fine, what with all the hoo-ha of the season! Pay no attention to the nagging goodie voice! Mine just made me eat a couple truffles that were intended for my sister, but didn't get wrapped yet. Now I have to replace them (again!), but then I will get her gift wrapped immediately! I don't know what I was thinking with that gift, btw. It is a chocolate theme, but only the truffles are edible chocolate. Everything else is either the scent or color of chocolate. It seemed like a good idea before I started getting into it. Ah well...

I hope you get those long weekends! I hadn't given New Year's a thought yet, but now I'm thinking that I'd be pushing my luck to try to take off that Friday. We shall see...

I'd best be getting to bed. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

Morning All ...

Auntie G - I am up 8 pounds so dont feel bad...they say most of us gain weight over the holidays anyhow...I just dont think I can get truly serious until after Christmas, I hate to say that,...I know I can not go totally overboard but dont think I can get back on strictly, too much junk food around me at work (

Mez - Good luck with the tests, pop back in here later and let us know how it goes if you find out today.

Arabella - I know we are all struggling right now...holidays will get us everytime

Well girls, talk to you all later...
