Satine – It looks like your working on a plan for Thanksgiving and Christmas that is great! Your right today is a new day and WE can do this! Your going to do it and soon you’ll have many days under your belt. (that will be very loose) So get ready and kick some bum!

Auntie G – WTG on another lost lbs and getting back on track and chase that chocolate monster away!

Arabella – Sounds like you had a wonderful Saturday. I think the audio guide would be awesome! (fingers crossed you decide to do it. lol no pressure)

Well today I’m planning. I bought a couple ds games. (DS is a Nintendo hand held game system.) I read a couple reviews and since best buy had double points for reward members. I got a couple early Christmas presents for myself. Quick Yoga Training It also for advanced users and it even has chair yoga. 108 poses so no excuse not to do it. It has a quick feature if you want to pick a body part. It has visual and audio and you can move the screen around to get a better look at the pose. I can’t wait to try it so even if I’m on my computer I can DO THIS! I just now opened it up so I don’t have all it is down. I also got my weight loss coach. I haven’t opened this but it sound awesome. I wanted to one that was said to help you relax but ran out of money. I believe the name started with a Z but I can’t recall. I’ll have to look it up. I think maybe in the next 2 couple weeks I’ll pick that one up. Oh yea the instructor (Yoga) is Mai Hashimoto who has an very impressive credits in the back of the booklet. I did not work on my ticker the other day because I wanted to weight myself today. I am at 202.0 so I’m so excited but very nervous since I hadn’t been eating the best and skipping workout because of it. I’m worried I will see a gain next Monday since I’m going to workout and eat right all week! Yup I’m digging my heels and I have the tools! I just need to set myself up to be happy if I do in fact gain. I know in the long run I will do this I can do we all can so dig your heels in with me! We are going to have a great week!

Thumbs up Fresh Start Monday!

I had a really good weekend but a fresh start is always good. Fresh start item today is that I'm really tired but just spending the day really tired and not having a feedathon. Felt the impulses and just didn't do it. Huzzah!

Auntie g, that's why they put the Halloween and Christmas and Valentine's Day and Easter -- whew! -- candy out so far ahead. Good profits! People buy early and buy often, a bit heavier with each visit

I almost bought a couple of little boxes of Godiva for DS and his GF's stockings. And then I thought, yeah, and what happens when I have a weak moment and that lightbulb flashes over my head with an image of that festive-looking little box? I've done that too many times to think I'm immune this year. Ugh.

I'm relatively sure that they'll still be available when we get close to Christmas. And I'll put in my order for one for my stocking, too. I love to have a four-piece box.

Mez, is that the way to treat yourself or what! I'm loving the energy I'm hearing from you. Digging in my heels here and now, I am. Don't worry about a weight gain from eating right and exercising. Not likely, and if it did happen it would be a silly little temporary blip. You're going to do awesome!

Satine, yeah, that's the idea. We want to enjoy ourselves those single days -- and also to remember that stuffing ourselves isn't the best way to enjoy them. I love the holidays when I indulge a little and have some special treats but don't turn them into a feeding frenzy.

K, I'm going to get my work done and then get the heck out of the office. I've got to practice for the concert tomorrow night.

Work it, Girlfriends!

Yay! Made it through the day chocolate free! I even ate broccoli! It was soooo windy, I didn't walk outside, but I did do some mall walking, where I also did NOT buy chocolate!

Carri, yes, you can totally do this thing! I plan on eating on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but like you said, not going overboard on the days before and after. I think that's a fair deal, and we must enforce and reinforce the idea. We must be strong! Um, I actually plan on a bad breakfast on Black Friday, too. I almost forgot. But that's it!

I left that Dove chocolate at work, because I'm less tempted to go insane while I'm there, but if I'd brought it home, ohhhh, let's not even think about it!

Mez, woo hoo! You're right on the edge, there, and it's gonna be fine, even if there's a slight bump. You're on the right track, and it's great that you got yourself some new toys to help you along the path. Gee, I just bought a DS game for my nephew's b-day (Spore Creatures), I never even realized that little gizmo could be used for something more useful!

Arabella, congrats on not giving in to the evil impulses! And yeah, I know it's a marketing trick, putting that candy out so early. I honestly thought I was buying it to put away - I do try to shop early, so that it's not a mad dash at the last minute. Well, now I know that I just cannot buy the chocolate until the last minute, and that's that. I hope the mixed nuts leave me alone now!

Have a great Tuesday, everyone, and an awesome concert, Arabella!

Arabella – Kudos on the kicking that feedathon out the door! I think a 4 piece box would be a great stocking stuffer for me also. Great idea!

Auntie G – Bravo on making it a chocolate free day! I also felt that wind it is getting so cold outside one just wants to lie in bed under those nice warm blankets. I will be putting the heating pad on my bed soon. I don’t do well with electric blankets since I tend to kick them off and end up freezing.

Well I got my workout in yesterday. I plan on trying DS yoga today and maybe a kettlebell workout. The dvd I bought is very hard. I’ll do what I can and just be happy I at least did a few moves. I need to dig out all our winter wear today. Plus get the sand bucket fill for the ice that will surely show up this winter on the side walks. The only thing I like about winter is my body burns more calories to say warm. I’m a huge wimp when it comes to the cold.

Default Oh, so tired

Practice last night, on top of being on the go and having some little bit of something or other... I'm zonked.

My concert outfit is just about too loose to wear. A year ago it was too tight. Progress!

Auntie g, what's Black Friday?

Mez, I just ordered flannel sheets and pjs -- I need to be warm or I can't get to sleep.

K, planning to stay on plan today. I'll try to get a little rest, try to practice, try to remember to breathe... Right now though, I'm heading off for my Maybe I'll be less tired after?

Let's make this a good one!

I decided tostart wearing my pedometer to work every day now, and it doesn't count steps, just miles, which is kind of annoying. But I managed to walk 2 miles during the workday, so that was cool. Now I'll try for more tomorrow. I don't know if I have the setting right for true mileage, but any amount to compare to will be helpful.

Mez, it's windy again today, and I must say, I wouldn't mind getting back under the blankets now, but alas, there is much to be done. Congrats on getting in your workout, and let's hear it for burning extra calories trying to stay warm! Unless we move south, we can't avoid the cold, so might as well make the best of it!

Arabella, wow! It never occurred to me that Canada doesn't do Black Friday, but I just did a search and found something about how Canadians can get in on the American Black Friday sales. Hmmm, I'm in culture shock, and I love it! (There's so much to learn from the people on this site!) So, Black Friday is the day after our Thanksgiving. It is a major shopping day for many, and a "wouldn't be caught dead in a store" day for others. There are huge sales and they start very early in the morning. You have to be out and in line hours before some stores open, to get the good deals. It's kind of crazy, but since it's only once a year, it's also fun. For me, it's the one day a year that I get a "girls day out", with my sister and a couple friends. We start out with breakfast by 3am, and then we're off to stand in line and wait for the first store to open at 5am. Some places open earlier, even at midnight, but we don't go THAT crazy. I'm pretty sure they call it Black Friday because that's the day the stores' books generally come out of the red, into the black. At least that's the historical story. Who knows, nowadays, with the economy the way it is... Anyway, big Christmas shopping day is the short answer, now that you've had the long one.

Good luck with your concert!!!

Default All right -- that's done now.

Remembrance Day concert went well last night, not that I was any great contributor to it. I'm feeling a little badly about having been underprepared. Next one will be better.

Auntie g, that does sound kind of fun, in a once-a-year kind of way. Three a.m. wake-up is pretty brutal, though. And then line-ups? I would definitely have to have a date arranged or I'd wimp out. Still, I can see how it would be fun once you got started.

Recovering today, just taking a few walks, no big exercise sessions planned.

Let's take this day and make it work for us!

Grrrr... my pedometer is not working right. Yesterday I thought it was because my pants were too big and it wasn't sitting up straight, but today it didn't seem to be cooperating while in the proper position. I think I will have to ask Santa for a new one. Still chocolate free since Monday, so hurray!

Arabella, I hope you've recovered from your concert and all is well. I found out that our first Black Friday store will be opening at 4am, so we may be going to breakfast at 2! It is sounding a bit crazy, and I'm glad it's only once a year!

Carri, yay! for getting back on track! The 4 lbs will be gone in no time. It really does take an awful lot of calories to add that in real weight - a good chunk is probably just water. The important thing is to just not let it go on for too long. It's just a speed bump on the journey. We've only got to be good for 13 days now, until we get to be bad for ONE DAY ONLY!!! We can do it!

OK, girls, have a healthy Friday!

Thumbs up Friday!

Just back from WI. They had me at 2.4 down from last week -- when, of course, I was up 2. I was a pound lower earlier in the week and behaved myself ALL WEEK!!!! So, it'll show again soon. My pants were literally falling down last night and this a.m. I got into a pair of Old Navy size 16 that I've never come close to getting into before.

I've got just about 15,000 steps logged (I log from noon to noon) and done my yoga. Went to tai chi last night.

Auntie g, my Omron pedometer has been my faithful companion since last Christmas. It's great!

Speaking of culture shock, I've never gotten over the fact that you don't celebrate Boxing Day in the states! And, because I work for an American country, that means I don't get it off.

Carri, good for you getting back on plan! Who wants to wake up 10 or 15 pounds heavier in January? Those 4 pounds will be gone in a twinkling.

Mez, How are you doing? Keep walking in the light!

Wimmens, let's go out there and win this one! Huzzah!

Day 5 chocolate free! Whoopee!

Arabella, on the loss and the O.N. 16s!!! You'll probably have a good loss again next week, too! I will definitely look into the Omron pedometer. I've always just bought the cheapest one I could find, and they never last long, so maybe I'll move up in the world this time.

OK, so I had to look up Boxing Day. Of course I've heard of it, but never knew what it was about. This was the short description I found. "The first weekday after Christmas, celebrated as a holiday in parts of the British Commonwealth, when Christmas gifts are traditionally given to service workers." Is that the general idea in practice, or just the dictionary version? It is very interesting, either way. I'm currently in a mental battle over having the day after Christmas off from work, and oddly enough, now I feel like I've got more ammo! We should ALL have off that day! Maybe we should start some kind of movement in America...

Time to make some coffee. I'll be checking in after morning weigh in... Good night!

Talking

Woo hoo! Two more lbs down the drain today!

Today's splurge is planned (Red Robin burger, yummmm...) and still no chocolate in the house, so I'm on on track. Must get busy on the housework now, and if it ever stops raining, get out for a walk.

Pippi, welcome and good luck!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Auntie G – I have seen those Red Robin Ads on T.V. YUM is right! Lucky for me there isn’t one in my area. It has been raining here a lot. I just looked outside and seen it snowed today. UGH! WTG on keeping chocolate at bay. The day after Christmas sounds off sounds great to me. Where do I sign? Just hearing that wind makes me want to snuggle deeper into the blankets. Your right but so much to be done!

Arabella – KUDOS!! CONGRAT! Yippee on the loss and your pants falling down!! I’m very proud of you!! Now remember to put on your best underwear just incase you do happen to walk out of your britches. I also had never heard of boxing day. Boy those American companies are sure keeping that hush hush. I love my flannel sheets and heating pad but it does make it even harder for me to crawl out of bed.

Pippy90505 – Welcome Pippy! I look forward to helping you with your weight loss journey.

Satine- WTG on staying on plan and braving that scale. I know it’s hard to see that gain but echoing that I bet it is mostly water.

As for me I’m so busy and chilled. I stepped on that scale yesterday and was 201.8 so I’m hoping that the scale will be kind to me Monday and I’ll at least be the same or in for the shock of my life 199 or less. That would be so great!

Oops, didn't get off the computer yet!

Hi Mez! Hope you're doing well, it sounds like you're in better spirits. You've got snow? We're hitting the 60s today, and then it's supposed to get colder tomorrow. Such weird weather! And those darn Red Robin commercials are what made us try it. I can't even say the name of the place without adding "yummmmm", and boy is it true! Good advice on the underwear - that cracked me up! And I sure hope you have a good weigh-in on Monday. Opening the door to Onederland is so motivational!

Now I'm really getting off the computer!
