elvis: We must not have the exact same app because mine as W9D2-3. They're the exact same thing as W9D1.

Hmm....my is Zen labs (it was free on my iphone so that's why I picked it!). Today it reverted back to W1D1 and I was like, ok!! JK lol, I wouldn't go back THAT far to start over. I guess I didn't even need my app. to do my run today but I like habits so I just turned on the W9D1 and then it told me I graduated again when I finished!

I'm back!!! Hopefully I'm good to go! I did my last run on Thurs ( w3d3) and as I said my knee was hurting bad enough I knew I needed to stop. I've been resting it...icing and taking ibuprofen. Today...I decided to try it and since it had been almost a week..I decided to repeat W3D3! I did it....but it was HARD!!!! I never wanted to quit so bad and my breathing was horrible!! I just kept pushing and when that gal finally said to walk for the cool down...i thought for a second i might pass out..lol! Mot good as i live in the country! But on a positive note...my knee was fine! I put on a brace...had taken 3 ibuprofen and iced when I returned but so far so good! Now...I may wake in the morning and not be able to move...but I'm hoping not!!

Elvis: You are such an inspiration...well everyone here is! I'm so glad I found this site!!! Keep at it everyone!!!

Good job Silverfire!

I just did W7D2 and it went pretty well. The second half was hard but I'm glad I stuck with it. I also get a little bit faster every time I run without even trying, so that's encouraging.

I'm feeling great about it. My knee twinges slightly if I try and run too hard, so a light jog it is. I sometimes still can't get over that my feet can ever figure out what to do! Everyone here is doing so well! So awesome. I can't wait to be finished it so I can RUN 5K!!!!

I'm with you Silverfire - I really want to be able to jog that entire 5K! I'm encouraged that you're sticking with it, since our weights are similar. I was worried that I had started this being too heavy, and my body would punish me for it, but so far, so good.

I had that same worry! I am going to take it easy though, I don't want to hurt myself. I have noticed that my knees have been hurting less and less these days though. I think that is a good sign. If I have made it this far, anyone can do it We will be doing full on 5k runs before we know it!

I should be finished just before the wedding I am in, in July. A friend who I haven't seen in a couple years now will be in town for it and we have promised to go for a run down by the river together. I am really looking forward to it, it's a great motivator. Plus the Color run in September is going be awesome and is really helping me stick with it!

I have a feeling I'm going to need to repeat week 4. I've done days 1 and 2 and have had to rest during the 5 minute runs. I'm not feeling like I should advance. I am still doing W4D3 tomorrow but I think I'm going to do it over. I almost felt defeated and I know that I always tell you guys that if you have to repeat a week that it's ok but I'm feeling discouraged about not being able to move forward.

Mamabear: i completely understand how your feeling. I had to repeat a few days and it sucks! You want to go to the next step but your body is not ready, it's depressing. BUT it really doesn't matter in the end. Sure, I could be in week 9 instead of week 7, but is that really important? Nope. I much prefer to go slower but to actually enjoy the run.

Mamabear- don't sweat repeating it. I think it makes so much more sense to be able to finish the week/day before moving on or you may not be ready for that next run. It does make a bunch of big jumps from time to time and not every body can do it. The first time I attempted this program I did each run twice, unless it was the same as the previous week, and I still had trouble every time the running time increased. Even this go around, when I'm the healthiest and lightest I've been attempting it (I've tried about 4 times) I've repeated certain days. I just looked at my record and I redid a day in W4, W6 and W7. No biggie. As I said before, if I didn't repeat I wouldn't have been ready for the longer runs and most likely would have given up.

I did W7D2 last night and it absolutely killed me. I think I tried to run it too fast and I still didn't hit the 3K in 20 minutes like it wanted me to. At about the halfway point my legs just did not want to move anymore. I was checking my phone every 30 seconds to see how much time was left and I haven't done that in awhile. I'm doing a squat challenge on off days and I'm wondering if I've gotten to the point where I'm doing so many squats my legs are still sore too tired to run. I'm debating whether I should do them tonight.

I really feel like I'm starting to turn a corner here. I did w4d2 yesterday, and it was great. I know some runs will be good and others bad, but this felt awesome. I almost never looked at my ipod to see how much time was left in each run, and I found myself looking around while I was jogging, (enjoying?) the scenery, rather than just focusing on the run interval. I think key to my success as of late is finding a comfortable jogging pace (which is fairly slow - but who cares) and keeping my steps low and quick to reduce the bounciness.

What an awesome feeling of accomplishment, though!!!

Love reading these threads!!

Today was my 3rd day doing W9D3 so I will start adding in more time next week to see if I can get anywhere near to completing the 5k distancewise. My warm up and cooldown equal about a half mile and I'm taking credit for that! So I'll have to add more minutes to built up about another 1/2 mile (about 8 minutes). This is so exciting.

My run today was like a dream, I was in the zone and when the music interrupted to say I was halfway through I was shocked! I actually thought my music blipped out, I never thought I had already run for 15 minutes! Love runs like these. Some days I'm dragging my a$$ to the halfway mark!

Hope you all have a nice weekend! My next run won't be til Tuesday but I'm already looking forward to it!

elvis: The first half of my run yesterday was just like that! I was feeling so good I thought I would be able to run forever. The second part was much harder though. But still, to think I can now easily run for 12.5 minutes is crazy! And my goal is to someday being able to do an easy 5K run!
