Happy Monday biker babes. Had a very busy riding weekend. Actually very funny went to a ladies tea wore a summer dress and hat and then came home and changed into leather pants and vest. Rode my road king for the first time in weeks. It has been so danged hot that I have not wanted to go any where on it.

Sounds like everyone is doing fantastic. Keep on Keep'n on Biker Chicks and have a good on plan day.

Hot weather sucks butt 100, 104, 105.... yuck. I haven't ridden since my class, so tomorrow I'm getting up at 6am to go ride. I figure I'll have about 6 hours to ride before it gets too hot. I ride in full gear from my head to my toes so at about 90 degrees I'm done.
Oh yeah, why can I ride on a Tuesday instead of work? Because I was let go last Friday. "It's time we parted ways, have a nice weekend". I knew it was coming so I had other options open and today I signed a new contract with a new company. Not as much money, but I definitely won't starve, and the requirements aren't as tough as my previous employer. So, good for me .

Anywho.... Good to see everyone one is doing well! You chicks have a great week! And stay safe riding!

congrats to you and kudos for having the courage and feel good to do the easy rider type photo for your hubbie, if I could start losing to a comfortable zone, i think that i would like to do one for my hubbie}(he isn't in the military but a friend does boodwa(spelling) photos, and i kinda balked until i was at goal, but this gives me he idea that if I can reach a mini goal of at least 190 or so, I might be brave enough to attempt something like that for him with the harley.
all of you are encouring me to get on track.. this forum is just great-there are so many great people here that are so welcoming.
i have been messing around-up down-cheat not cheat..am trying to follow south beachish-feels like my clothes are loosing up but lbs aren't moving.(but I havn't been real faithful/strict.
i have always went on a diet with the idea of it all needs to drop right away, this time I am trying to just do better and take it slow and easy without the guilt and punishment. good luck and good job everyone!!!
thanks for welcoming me and glad to talk to you all.

My Husband comes home in 48 hours... I am a bit bummed out because I have not dropped more than 5 pounds.

Now it will be harder to stay on plan with him home so I will need the Biker Babes thread ! Thanks for being here!

Lucky YOU!! Hubby coming home!! YEEEAAAHHHH!! I know what you mean about it being hard to stay on track when the husband is home. I too am worried about it. I sent him an email last night telling him how its going to be. Here is a quote from my email:

"if you want a thinner wife, you are going to need to change some of your eating habits. I am serious! If you want sweets or something, you are going to need to eat them at work. I'm not kidding! I am not going through this just to have you sabotage me once you get home."

I was somewhat firm with him, but trying to make my point. Besides, it's good for him. He always comes back after being gone for months and is toned and looking good, the military does that to a man. Then poof, within 2-3 months he has gained 30lbs. Not that 30lbs looks bad on him, he carries his weight really well, the brat. But if he follows my rules, he will stay trim. I have attached a pic of him, so you can see what I mean. He is 30 overweight in this picture and you can't even tell. It was taken when we took the bike on a trip up the north shore, it was beautiful up there.

My husband is the same way- can carry lots of extra weight and not show it. I love your email! I may have to draft one of my own

It will be good to set down the rules- BUT he also likes to try and control any diet I am on by telling me how I can do it better GRRRRRRR!!! So I may have to tell him that I do not want to discuss my diet.

Does anyone else have that problem?

Has anyone taken a ride today? If so where did you go?

Kris tries to do the same thing, telling me how to diet, how to make it better. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!! Just because the military stresses you out physically with constant excercise, does not mean I need to do the same. Kris is under the impression that you cannot lose weight unless you exercise at least 2.5 hours a day/7days a week. He is serious!!! I told him if he wants me to drop dead from a heart attack, they I will try his way!!

My last ride was the beginning of June, went to South Dakota. Boy did my butt hurt!! We did about 270 miles in one day, may not seem like a lot to you all but that is the first "trip" we took this year. I was not used to it!!! I didn't have enough riding time to build up to it. OUCH!!

We won't be going on any rides until he comes home late Sept. Hopefully it is still nice out and we will be able to go somewhere.

Hi Chicks! Hey Newbies! Welcome!

Just got back from our trip to Cincinnati to see HH's family....they tried to kill us with FOOD, as usual!! We didn't take the bike, thank goodness....just too damn much traffic up there! Drove straight through to get home last night....just didn't feel like stopping and wanted to see our kitties. Had the Dog with us.

Took a nice bike ride this afternoon, about 60 miles. Didn't take any big roads....flew the back roads along the perimeter of the Ocala Natinal Forest. Was sure nice to get back in the saddle after a week away from our bike!

Now my focus is on my trip to Wyoming to see grankids on 8/8. Hummmm......wonder if I can drop a few by then! I'm afraid to get on the scale....was outta control this past week.

How's everyone??

Hi everyone!
I got up at 6am like planned and was out the door by 6:30 for a great ride. I went to a favorite mountain road that I haven't been on in at least a year. There were deer, cows, cow poop and tar snakes all over the road so I didn't get to go like I like to, but on the way home I took a short detour and went up another mountain road with much better condition to scoot along..
I ate breakfast by a little lake with a chipmunk then took a bunch of flower photos, which you can see here if you'd like. It was beautiful. I'll be going on more early morning rides like that.

Have a good day everyone!

Kathy

I no longer have the problem of dh sabotaging me as he knows I am **** bent and determined to loose this weight. My gf asked me about this just the other day and I told her I am tried of taking care of everybody else’s needs all the time and not taking care of me. That is what it boils down too. I am finally taking care of me. I am always dedicated to kids and dh but never me. My dh spent 8 years in the marine corps and I too had to here you should do this and that all the time. I am not going to fight a war I am trying to incorporate life style changes that can and will make a difference. Dh is no longer in very good shape either so it is kind of funny how the tables have turned over the last year. I am in better shape than him for the first time in years. I feel fantastic and plan on keeping it that way. I still am a work in progress but it moving along.

August is the biggest riding month for us. Going to Sturgis week after next. Then Cripple Creek and Four Corners. Looking forward to all of it. Complaining about the heat and before I know I am going to be butt deep in snow. We are never happy!

Hi to all and Keep on Keep'n on all you hot biker babes!

Way to go Harley Mom!!! That riding schedule sounds awesome!

I so agree about taking care of everyone else... I put off getting into shape because if I had a spare moment I wanted to do art and not waste any time on my body. Now that I am **** bent on loosing I have not been able to paint
There HAS to be a happy medium here somewhere! But I do feel much better

LOL Tiff- Boot Camp! Yeah- that would give me a heart attack!

I cannot wait for my Harley.
I am too young at heart to be a mom and wife 24/7 of 4 fighting kids.
Just for one day a week, one hour a day I want to feel the wind and the open road!

Yup- that is all I need!

Yeah, like boot camp. He is talking about becoming a TI (Training/Drill Instructor) next year. I think it would be perfect for him, just leave me out of it!!!

Hey ladies!

I sorta have that problem with my husband. He likes me to be his junk food buddy. He thinks if I just take a walk I can eat what I want and lose weight. Don't think so! He supports my dieting, but since he struggles with weight too it's difficult for him to be super helpful. I think, though, that HarleyMom said it best. Plus, I have come to a conclusion that I can only take care of me. I am only responsible for me (we don't have kids yet). I choose what goes or doesn't go into my mouth. Good or bad, it's up to me.

Your rides all sound so much fun. We haven't gone anywhere this year. I think we need to plan a little road trip early this fall.

I'm doing decent this week so far. I haven't weighed since last week. The stupid scale really messes with my head, so I'm just going to stick to plan for 2 or 3 weeks and then see if I've made any progess. I talked with Dh tonight about if I ever get to my goal weight that I'd really like some cosmetic work done with the loose skin and he said that whatever makes me happy! Yay! I also told him I'd like some new boobies as well !

Hope everyone's staying cool!
