Page 99!!! What a cool thread you started Andrea!! Here's to 99 more! Maybe if my post is long enuf I'll bust through to 100 myself.
Camping was great fun. I was missing my scooter - we took the scenic route down - a perfect scooter road. It was full of bikers, too! We took the dawg - tho. It was fun to have him along. (Maybe a side car and some doggles ) We really need to go camping more often - I say that every time I come home from camping - why is it so hard to follow through? Oh yeah...DH and his working most weekends. Gotta work on him with that one. Maybe if I just make reservations and tell him he's taking such and such weekend off. It might actually work...he might be so surprised to see me actually plan ahead.. It's just so relaxing - no ringing phones, no work....
Tomorrow is back to the real world...but at least I'm all rejuvenated.
I agree with you Gina, on camping and the total relaxation! I absolutely LOVE it!! In 1998, HH and I sold our house, closed our business and sold/gave everything in our home but what would fit into our 30 ft 5th wheel RV....and away we went! Off to explore the world!! Well, actually, we explored much of the U.S. west of the Mississippi We only had $3,000 in our pockets and we were too young to retire, so we "workamped" as we traveled, and had the time of our lives. Workamping is working 3 month commitments in a campground or park. You work a few days a week for free site rent & utilitites, plus a few dollars a month. I was usually the "check-in chick" and Mike was usually the "pool boy" at these short-term, part-time jobs. Boy was it fun to have my very own pool boy! Just wish we'd had our bike during this adventure! We were on the road full-time (without any other home) for 3 and a half years. We may do it again at some point, with our bike...but would it only be part-time, keeping our current home in Florida as our home base.
Yeah! The 100th page! How cool. As usual I have been MIA lately just due to my new work schedule. I really havent even rode much this season. DH rides most days to work, though.
Jill- Glad that the mammogram checked out well. Very good news.
Gina-Cute pic! Glad that your camping trip was good. There's no way I could get DH to camp. He just isnt the outdoor type. Oh, I saw a dog with goggles in a side car this weekend. It was precious!
Speaking of dogs...mine is driving me nuts right now. Everytime the doorbell rings on tv he barks and barks. So annoying.
Jules and Harley...Hope you had a great weekend! Hi to anyone else that I forgot. Have as good of a Monday as possible!
Hey all you hot biker babes! I had a very busy get my huge back yard cleaned weekend. It was nice to have it done and enjoy sitting out on the patio and enjoying the fruits of our labor. Got sun burned to a crisp from my knees down, thought I was shaded but appartently not. Last week of work this week then I have 3 weeks off! Looking forward to gettig some things done! Having the big 25th anniversary party this weekend! It should be so much fun! Jules it looked like those boys and girls liked to party hardy at the river rafting place! I love camping wish I could have been there Gina. Congrats on the good health report Jill! Reb two words for you bark collar! Have a great Monday all you Biker Babes! Keep on Keep'n on!
Welcome la3y always good to here from a fellow biker babe!
Well ladies I am out of here until July 20th after today, so you won't here from me until I return as it is nearly imposiable to get near the computer at home with twin 15 year olds on it morning, noon, and night!
I hope you all have a great few weeks and as always, Keep on Keep'n on!
Hey Harley! WHOOOOOHOOOOO for you and your weight loss AND your 3 weeks off! You are MY IDOL when it comes to willpower, Girl....You've GOT IT!
Been doing some weights, trying to watch my intake better and been gazelling a few times this week, trying to get back into the groove. Wish me luck!
Welcome to our group, la3y! We all love to ride here...and it's FRIIIIIIIIIIDAY!!!!! Yippeeeee! HH and I are riding to Florida's west coast early tomorrow...then we'll scurry home before the afternoon thunderstorms.
Hey Reb! Hey Gina! Hey Jules! Where are Holly and 2Frus????
This is NOT how I ride....but it's hecka freaky to watch...
Too danged over here...107 degrees today....112 forecast for Sunday....and the battery in the car is fried....so I'm on the scoot. DH is going to fix the battery today. No AC in the house - so it's nice to go for a drive in the car to cool off.
I wanted to ask....Do we burn cals when riding? I really have to hang on with hubby driveing...lol
And bikers are the only people I know of who drive 50 miles to get icecream...lol thats what we did this past weekend instead of the beach..
I hope we can get some more time on the bike this weekend being that its going to be a long one...I really need to work on getting my driving in to I would like to start driving by nexted summer....I got to get the hang of changeing gears.....
la3y- LOL on hanging on to your hubby! It should seem that we burn more calories than riding in a car. Especially being beaten around in wind. It's nice to dream anyhow, hehe.
Harley- Yeah! Congratulations on losing even more. You are doing so fantastic.
Jill- Good for you for getting back on track. I can't figure myself out. I do awesome M-F, walk, etc...then Saturday and Sunday I blow it. You'd think that I'd lose SOMETHING, but no. I keep gaining and losing the same few pounds.
Gina- OMG! I can't believe ride like that! That WAS freaky. Hope your A/c is working now...
AC is working in the car again...YAY! Even better - it cooled off, only 97 today! So I'm back on the scoot.
I kinda think you do burn more calories riding than driving...but I doubt if it's much. I've never worked up a sweat just by riding. Maybe riding quads in the sand or something...
Andrea - I have a hard time with weekends, too. I think it's easier for me to plan on the weekdays because it's more of a routine. (Maybe weekends are routine, too...but the routine is full of bad habits... )
I'm on mega-training week this week, 4 runs, 4 weights sessions and 4 kickboxing sessions So far only missed one weights session and can make that up on Friday Reason for this madness? Half Marathon in October
Bikey is good, but needs new brake pads and oil - maybe at the weekend if it behaves itself
