ZCA, so sorry to hear about the mess with the RV. Glad you weren't far from home when it happened. After all that planning!!
As far as I know, there will be no junk at our Easter Dinner, so I'm safe! LOL The only junk will be in my grandson's Easter Basket, and he's not going to be sharing!!!
Jacqui, yes, I know why you do your mother henning and Rennie knows it, too. Just teasing, once again. Unfortunately, I disagree with you than she can reverse her diabetes. I firmly believe that once a diabetic, always a diabetic. You can get it under tight control and keep it under control, but you will never be able to go back to eating carbs, so it's not really gone. But I am not an authority on this. I know others disagree with me.
Carol Sue, yes, I agree with you. I don't think you can actually reverse diabetes. I probably shouldn't use the word "reverse." What I mean is that you can manage it to a point that it is doesn't cause damage when otherwise it would. But yeah, I think once you are diabetic, you always have to watch carbs.
PrairieQueen, lucky you! have fun in the warm Florida sun! I hope you enjoy your visit!
ZCA72, oh my goodness! I'm glad no one was hurt! Tire blow outs are so scary and so dangerous! Oh I was a terrible yo-yo dieter all my life. I'm glad to be off the rollercoaster!
I'm down half a lb today! Still need to exercise. Back down to the river to sign papers now. Have a great day everyone!
Week 41: High 172.5, Low 168.5

2/24--171.5
2/25--170.5
2/26--169
2/27--168.5 Carb Day
thanks guys, the accident mess is being handled. happy to have the insurance to handle that LOL
Jacqui, yes, the yo yo train is a miserable place to be. happy you are off that track also!!
one thing I did on this last attempt to get it right and make an eating change for life was commit 1000% percent this time.
it worked, I am doing it cause I just can not do this again. I do not have it in me to gain back, lose again. Nope. this I knew was my biggest last attempt to change me and I did it and continue to do it. No more excuses or anything. I am done with that and off the yo yo express and am never going back.
stuffed and happy. on plan 100% and happy to say I got thru my day as I committed and no going back ever to the old eating lifestyle. I fought hard to be here and I am enjoying the best of it which is I feel so darn good
allergies again are nailing me so waiting to get thru this season as usual. the pollen is crazy as usual but I get thru. wish my eyes weren't so watery, I can barely see typing this LOL
ZCA glad everyone is okay! That is always my biggest fear when we take our little R-pod teardrop out. It's quite small (2000 lbs dry), but it still a worry. We haven't had it out in two years because of hubs hip surgeries and our other trips. But its coming out this summer.
I'm in Florida now and it was so humid last night. My hair was a frizz ball by bedtime (I arrived at 7 pm). But I'll take it. I was 37 degrees when I left for the airport in Ohio.
Break - 1/2 serving bourbon chicken
Snack - piece of turkey pepperoni pizza
Lunch - bun less hot dog, Saratoga chips
Dinner - 6-in subway club w/ reg mustard
Snack - bud 55 by the pool

Oh, the R-pod teardrop. so cute. I would love to have one just to have one LOL but I can't 'collect' rvs. can't afford that
florida. ah you lucky dog. bet your warm sunshine is wonderful. up here in NC we are covered in pollen. weather is finally coming around to carolina blue skies and warmth! Do you have a second home there?
---hi all
doing great. no kidding my plan makes me feel wonderful. cut off my head from the allergies and I would be perfect! but sadly those allergies are dragging me down again, so much pollen. but it will pass as usual.
1/2 roasted chicken
ribeye with butter later
not hungry. will eat usual times. 11 or so and then 3 or so and be done for the day.
falling into a great pattern now. all is good.
have to load the fell tree in the yard. big boy. guy wants it for firewood. older neighbor of my MIL. we will load and bring to him. guy needs help and we are happy to do it for him. alot of heavy work today...that will be my exercise
other usual chores etc. and sunny and nice out so just one of those do this and that day and enjoy it.
Yikes! Rennie should be getting on me about junk food, lol! We went down to the river yesterday to sign papers with our ex-renter and of course as our luck goes with that house, the court house closed at noon for Good Friday and we didn't get to file them. DH will go back next week to do that. But we ate at McD's on the way down (mistake 1). I took Diet Dr. Pepper with me instead of water (mistake 2). We stayed there and hit an auction across the river in KY and by the time we started on our way home, the only thing open was McD's drive-thru so we got McD's food again (mistake 3). Needless to say I am up a lb today! Ugh, not what I want before Easter Carb Day. Oh well! I'm going to enjoy Easter and get back to business on Monday!
PrairieQueen, I'll gladly trade my winter coat for your frizzy hair, lol!
ZCA72, sorry to hear about your allergies! My younger brother and I were born in NC, and when he was young, he was allergic to pine needles and, of course, it's impossible to escape pine needs in NC, lol! Lucky for him, we moved to TN when he was 6 and that made life a little easier for him.

Jacqui, oh yes the pine needles are everywhere I am from NJ and never had an allergy like this. this NC pollen is just too much for my little old head to handle. but rain today and that should help. I love when the rain washes the pollen off everything but we actually get rivers of pollen just pooling up after. wild.
PQ, oh this is a visit to mom. sounds like fun!
you have me laughing....wondering about this lunch of yours: Lunch - prosciutto pain is
hmm....HA
Happy Easter everyone.
easy day. rain to help the air quality out there and wash things clean.
inside chores and a little of this and that.
nothing major today. no big family Easter thing this year.
probably run over to Moms today to visit a bit. my Bro is there for a few days staying
with her so we all can visit a little.

Had a very nice Easter of good food, but too much. I will not weigh. It is water weight and will give it time to flush out before I get on the scale again.
Morning all! We had a nice Easter dinner as well....I cooked it I made au gratin potatoes as a treat for me, so I'm glad there are no scales around. My 98-yr-old grandpa and his 94-yr-old friend were two of the seven dining! They both fixed their own plates and chatted about the old days until 10 pm
Yesterday's menu....
Break - 4 prosciutto rolls
Snack - gala Apple
Lunch - chicken gumbo soup
Dinner - ham, au gratin potatoes, roasted carrots

Hi girls!!! Busy day today, but checking in really quick to say that I would love to be a part of this group again. I've got my head around my moderately low carb way of eating and would love to come back so we can encourage each other. Took me a while to get to the point that this is a lifestyle change not a diet to get things straight and go back to the old ways of eating.
I'll be reading to catch up this evening and then start posting again. Y'all have a great day.
Carol Sue and PrairieQueen, I should have stayed off the scale! Oy!
ZCA72, I'm glad you got to visit your mom and bro yesterday even if you didn't have a big family to-do.
Rennie, where are you? How was your Easter?
Okay, I really have to get back to business on my diet now. I am up to 176.5 today and that is 2.5 lbs over the high end of what I am allowing myself for maintenance, so no more fooling around! I don't think I'll be getting out to exercise today though. I had a really rough night of sleep. It stormed so I kept waking up, my back is out of alignment and that made me toss and turn, my cats were upset by the storm and were crawling all over me so they kept waking me up. Today my back is all crooked and my joints are aching. With the news of the scale, let's just say I'm not having a fun day, lol!

Evening everyone! Jacqui sorry to hear about the rough night and the gain. It won't take longt to o shake off the extra pounds now that things are somewhat normal in your life. I haven't been sleeping well at my moms....she stays up too late with the TV blaring and the ac is never low enough for me. Last night was a little better and I only woke up a few times with one bathroom visit. And your poor kitties....
Today we went to the Edison-Ford estate and museum, skipped lunch, and cooked Tuscan chicken/pasta for dinner. Tomorrow night we are going out for Mexican I'm not really enjoying myself and kind of feel like I've wasted my break. It will not happen again. Bro stays up half night and sleeps all day. At least I know I'm taking an awesome trip at end of May.
Break - 2 fried eggs, ham
Snack - gala Apple
Dinner - Tuscan chicken pasta

Jacqui, sorry to hear of your achiness and weight gain. It will go back down. It was a holiday!
PQ I'm sorry your trip isn't going as well as you'd like but I think it's good that you got to see your mother and brother. I hope he's recovering nicely.
I'm still avoiding the scale, but back on track today.
Thanks PrairieQueen and Carol Sue. I missed getting on the scale this morning and that just kind of threw me off all day. I had my usual breakfast but I skipped lunch and then had a couple of protein bars later and nuts (oops! you know how that goes!) and then chicken wings and pepperoni topped with melted mozzarella cheese for dinner. I didn't drink enough water, too much Diet Dr. Pepper. I don't know what's wrong with me! I want to get back on track but it's like I am not mentally there. My RA is really acting and that doesn't help. It makes me want to eat comfort food and comfort Diet Dr. Pepper, lol, yet that comfort food and drink I think contributes to the symptoms! It's a Catch-22! Oh well! Tomorrow's another day! Hopefully I'll get with it!
