I'm online for just a short amount of time, I just wanted to share with people who would understand my excitement: I'm starting Phase 3 tomorrow!! I just finished my grocery shopping. It's been so long since I bought peanut butter, strawberries, and yogurt (actually I got Greek yogurt, which I've never bought before). A good friend of mine baked me a loaf of Quinoa bread and I can't wait to have a slice of that, mmmm!
On an unrelated note: My heart goes out to everyone who experienced the earthquake, and haven't had time to breathe yet before Irene decided to visit. Stay safe!!

back from the farmers market, I got the following (and for 2Ride the $)
2 kohlrabi $4
big bag of new carrots $5
small bag of cherry's $3
bag of baby spinach $2
6 baby zucchinis $3
small tray of chocolate macaroons (for Hudson) $2
getting out of the house with two kids - PRICELESS
So I also have a couple NSV's:
Drove home with chocolate macaroons open and sitting on the front seat and didn't even THINK about having one!
Went through McDonalds drive thru (no judging!) because both kids were screaming by the time we were on our way home and I had to get them both fed and down for naps pronto...I ordered a kids meal for Hudson (with apples and milk) and when I got to the window they gave me 2 crispy chicken snack wraps instead of his happy meal. I started driving away and realized what had happened and went back through to get his happy meal and they told me I could keep the snack wraps and I said "NO THANK YOU" and handed them back to them!
today is day one of maintenance! i'm a bit nervous because i have no idea what i'm doing. i'm sure i'll figure it out. so, i was one of those people who lost weight in phase 3 (142 lbs right now!). does everyone gain back the 2-5 lbs, or is it possible that it might not come back? i've been eating bread, fruit and dairy every day for the last 2 weeks, so i feel like it should have come back then. i would be perfectly happy if it did not come back at all, but i am still expecting that it will. any thoughts?

Day one for me too! I lost on phase 3 as well (I'm currently 136). I'm fully expecting to put a couple of pounds back on in the next week or so.

Congrats on starting phase 3, Treena!! Good luck, I'm sure you will do great!

mmmm...macaroons! You did good girl!! Congrats on the NSV's!
LORDEEE LORDEEEE! I just ate a few almonds for my snack...soooooo good!
I got my phase 4 sheets last nite and I've been reading them over and over and over. I had a really long discussion with my coach about cheat days...which by the way are referred to as 'Fun Days' now...I'm not even remotely tempted to have a fun day, when she asked me what I was planning to eat for my fun day, I honestly (HONESTLY!) couldn't think of anything! The entire time on Phase 1 I dreamt of the cheat days and knew exactly what I wanted to cheat with...those obsessions completely escaped me last nite! She really wanted me to pick something so I just blurted out 'beans on toast!'....what IS wrong with me??????
Then, when I get home hubby and son were like 'what are you going to have for your cheat day? when are you having a cheat day?'....Jeez! I can't believe I'm not more excited! what a letdown!
I think I hear a bottle of Tanqueray 10 calling my name!!!!
I was kind of suprised to see that we are now supposed to have 3 meals and 3 snacks everyday (snack can be almonds, fruit or an IP packet)...this really makes me happy because it falls more in line with most balanced diets that I know about.
OK...last thing (sorry for the rambling post). I actually RAN with the dogs last nite, originally I thought I might be able to do one lap around the park before I had to stop and catch my breath...but after the warm up, I did 3 laps and only stopped because the dogs we ready to quit!
That is funny I still think about my "fun days" as I am still basically in phase 1. But it changes all the time... I read recipes in one of the threads here for peanut butter yogurt and thought that might be nice... but I don't know if I want to wreck the peanut butter... then I thought of a Blackened catfish poboy but was thinking if I can just ask for lettuce and no bread. Use to miss my bread but I don't anymore and I am sure the PoBoy bun is way too many everything... but could maybe handle it on lettuce with sweet potato fries... maybe... then I think just walking by someplace that deep fries makes my stomach turn what would happen eating it.

i figured out what I'm having for cheats....MACAROONS!! I can't stop thinking about them now...thanks Jordanna!!!
The bread thing is funny....I've always baked my own bread, was addicted to eating it hot and buttered fresh out the oven. Believe it or not, I have to choke down my toast every morning.
I have a great recipe for Quinoa bread...I'm going to try it too (now that Treena has mentioned it).
Keep talking ladies! you keep giving me ideas for yummys!!

i know exactly how you feel! my coach was out yesterday, so i met with the doctor. he asked what i wanted to eat and i honestly couldn't think of anything!!! in the beginning i had a big list of things i couldn't wait to eat and now the thought of any of them is just completely unappetizing. i asked my boyfriend what he would eat if he could eat anything (he's been on a very modified version of my diet for support, but still lost 30 lbs in 2-3 months!) and all he could think of was pizza. i used to want pizza so bad... indian pizza mostly (literally pizza with indian food as toppings and curry as sauce), but i really don't care for eating that at the moment. phase 3 pretty much stole my appetite. the big breakfasts keep me full forever, and if it were up to me i'd only eat a piece of toast for every meal. i can already tell that this is going to be a struggle!
I'm really hoping my dog will be better by Wednesday so I can take him to the kennel. He is definitely improving. I bought a can of food and mixed it with Benylin DM (vet said I could) and I think it was helping. I took him on two walks last night and he was quite happy and not coughing at all. He hacked a bit during the night but definitely not like the night before. He's not coughing up phlegm anymore - sorry TMI. I am crossing my fingers and being optimistic.
I am so glad he shows signs of clearing up quickly. That must be a big relief for you.

It is very individual. It will depend on how active you are, if you eat foods you are allergic too, if you normal retain a lot of fluid, if you eat more carb based foods that your body can manage.
Some people only see slight gains back or it takes a month of the changed eating to see a change. Usually they are much more active physically so they are burning larger amounts of glycogen resources and the impacts are less noticeable.

Hey- Could I get your recipe for Quinoa bread? I like to bake my own bread also and have been looking into sprouting grains and grinding it and incorporating more different types of grains into my families' diet.
Thanks
Janice

oooh indian pizza!! Why is it that what other people want is more appealing to me than the things I wanted before?

For sure, I will pm you the link to the recipes that I use...they are designed around my mixer, but you can use them with any mixer (or by hand)
