Back to phase 3 tomorrow!!

Thank you so much Carla! You really are a Superstaaaar!!
Glad that you are feeling better. and thank to Carla for some great advice, which I will tuck away in my brain for next time I get a nasty tummy bug... Can I add that you should make sure to take some probiotics? I know you might be getting them from yoghurt, but make sure you are getting them from somewhere.

I had my first WI in Phase 3 today and went down 1.5 to the shock of my coach who immediately wanted to see my diary... I will admit I was scared of gaining in Phase 3 and while I ate everything that was required I had 2 eggs as my lunch protein almost every day and had tuna for supper 5 out of 7 nights... Bah... Just can't wrap my head around it being okay to NOT lose and maybe, yes, I have to admit maybe, I would like to lose a bit more... very hard to say 'when'... but this weekend is my girls weekend and there will be alcohol involved- although after not having had any in four months I don't think it's going to take much for me to max out
You are doing so well! Enjoy your girls' weekend... Let us know how you do with the alcohol. I can't wait for the elusive "glass of wine" in phase 4, but the whole concept still scares me a little.

Joanne (2ride),

At the risk of sounding like an idiot...when you make your kohlrabi chips with the pizza stone, do you preheat the stone in the oven before putting the slices on? Do you oil (non-stick spray) the stone? What temp?

I found my pizza stone in the bottom of my cupboard. Don't think I've used it in 10 years.

Thanks.
Lynn

You don't Spray a pizza stone. It gets seasoned with use.
Mine is well used and loved. I've broken 3 of them in the last year and everytime I cry...cuz I use them ALL the time!!
It should be pretty non-stick..even if you haven't cooked anything greasy on it yet.

Good luck!

Thanks Capri!! Feel way better today! I still can't get over how fantastic you look in your avatar! I actually bought my first denim skirt this weekend and I was thinking of your pic when I first saw it on the rack!

This is a great advice too. I took this advice and just ordered a pack of probiotic yogurt starter (I love to make my own). I've read your posts on probiotics before - can you remind me which brand of supplements you buy? After how sick I felt yesterday, I want to be fully armed with every possible concoction, just in case. Like you, Carla...I hate the feeling of needing to throw up! I'd rather have cramps!!
On the topic of drinking...I'm really interested in finding out just how much wine I will be able to handle after almost 5 months of nothing (although I did accidentally swallow some mouthwash a couple of weeks ago!!). I used to be able to put away an entire bottle of white before IP! I'm planning my first drink for my birthday on Sept 11th - We have the most beautiful vineyards in the world in our valley - I'm going to splurge on the best grigio I can find!

Have a great day everyone!!!

what Minewgoal said... I do preheat my stone in the oven. I cook them around 400 for about 10 -20 min depends on how thin you slice them.

Thanks Pxlkitty! I am heading into town tomorrow and will pick some up!

Here's a question for anyone and everyone....in phase 3 if my pancreas is resetting itself, I'm assuming that I am coming out of ketosis, but how come I have ketosis breath again? I haven't had it for weeks...and today it was back with a vengence! It leaves a pretty distinctive taste in my mouth (so i know it's not mid-day morning breath...plus, I brushed my teeth and tongue way too many times today!)....anyone?

In phase 3, you will be out of ketosis in a day or two UNLESS you aren't getting enough carbs in the morning. Now, that said, you've been sick so, being dehydrated and fasting can cause a natural increase in ketones.

It may just be your unique situation.

Try more water to dilute the ketones and the breath should improve.

Hi All! I posted this in the daily thread, but wanted to share here too. Not only did I get into the 140's today, I am WELL into the 140's. WI today brought me to 146.6. Another 10# and I will start P2 and I am about 15# from goal, I can almost taste it. I did bootcamp for the last 4 days and am about to start BC for a full week. Trying to pick up a couple of big losses the next couple of weeks.

I have 5 weeks until our big vacation and I am totally focused on getting as close to goal as possible before we head out. It is totally my motivator and what has kept me on track all this time. I just spoke with my coach this morning and my vacation plan is to do P2 for 1 week and P3 for 1 week before I head out and follow maintainence while I am away. Then come back and get back on P1 to get to goal and start phasing off for good.

It's amazing, I actually feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
