Hello, just popping in. My company will be here tomorrow and I've got lots of cleaning and stuff to do.

Solly-Glad you're doing a bit better. Thats a great idea about just eating half. I'm going to remember that. Good tip. My company will be here Friday.

Ellen- A big congradulations on the 2 lbs. Thats great. Can't wait to make my Indian chicken tonight.

Crystle- Sounds like some of us are dragging. I stayed up way to late last night. Now I'm paying for it.

Mercee-Keep up the good work.

Off to get busy....

I am really really tired, so this will probably be short. We went to the big farmer's market and shopped and had lunch at their cafeteria. The food is always interesting...Tom got LOTS of meat...and I had to help him a bit.

Then we headed down to a real chic area of town to a health food store there that has liquid castile soap in bulk. We got a few things there. Then headed back to the HUGE Indian grocery store one of Tom's coworkers told him about. I could not believe the size of the place..and the prices were really good! ( keep that in mind, Toni! I can send you what you need!)

We came home and while I fixed dinner Tom ran over to Trader Joes and the library. I fixed a collard and navy bean soup, and broiled some salmon. The soup turned out really good. I used little collard plants Tom thinned out of the garden. I felt so good putting them to good use!

Ok, off to beddie bye! good night!

Darn I didn't get to make my Indian chicken tonight. It got to late and I was to tired from working all day. So I'll have to make it next week.

Ellen- Thats so neat you found the big Indian store. I'm only going to get my stuff from you from now on. I've spent way to much in postage for what little I got. And theres nothing here.

Off to bed I go. I've got to get up early and do oh so much.

Good morning ladies. Thank goodness it is Friday. Feeling better today, still dizzy, then again I haven't done much at work yet. Went and got an epidural in my back so hopefully I can walk some. We cleaned house last night so it was dark when we finished and I was afraid to walk in case I fell. Wehave a busy weekend planned. A chili dinner with our "old' friends tonight, we work the mission for lunch tomorrow and then a wedding right after. Sunday we are having bunco on a friends house boat with the guys so it will be fun. Busy time, but since my house is clean I can rest when I need. My DD just called me and told me I left my lunch at home. I had my breakfast, snack and lunch all ready to go today. I had a WW egg quesadillia in the fridge and I have a ww frozen pizza in the freezer I can eat for lunch. Even anticipating my dinner and wine, I am not over my calories by too much. I had a scare this morning. I weighed and I was up 8 lbs. I was freaking. I hadn't done anything wrong (other than a little too much sherbert) but not 8 lbs! My DH has mopped the bathroom and he set the scale square on the tile. I usually weight with it cadi-corned. I turned it back and I was at the same wt. Now which one is right. I already moved it up 8 lbs to refect the doctor's scales. Guess I will have to wait until next week when I go to the dr. to see for sure.

Ellen, Great job on the 2 lb loss. Things are coming together for you. Emjoy your time with Tom.

Crystle, I can eat a whole basket of chips too, I had more than my share believe me.

Toni, Enjoy your company but I know you will.

Mercee, you will get that breakthrough next week I bet. Upping your routine will help. Thirty four pounds is great and you will get the next 34 soon too with the way you are going.

Off to do something. Have a great weekend.

We drove up to the mountains yesterday and spent the day. It was absolutely perfect weather for it. We stopped and got apples, then went to the Chief Vann house, and New Echota. The Vann house is the beautiful brick mansion built by a Cherokee chieftain. It was incredible...he was a very rich and successful man. New Echota was the capital of the Cherokee nation. They were very civilized and progressive. They even had a constitution and a court system. How they were dealt with was horrific.

We stopped at Cracker Barrel on the way home and I got a low carb meal, so I did great! We did some walking around while we were up there too, but my foot has been killing me so I am sure I over did it.

We are supposed to head out for dinner at a Mexican place tonight. I may just get a taco salad.

Its another beautiful day here. Its cool, but not too cool, and the sky is totally blue. Makes me so mad that my foot hurts too much to go out and walk in the sunshine.

Oh my gosh what a busy week end. It was wonderful with my son and his family. Seems like this week end flew by. I was so sorry to see them go. And the wedding we went to was beautiful. Out at the old red mill here on a beautiful fall day. The water was bubbling in the spring and the leaves were beautiful along with the bride in her lovely dress. It was a real Ozark wedding. I know one thing I'm pooped and glad to be sitting in my chair with a cold glass of wine. Time for an early night.

Hello everyone! Well, the staycation is over. Tom has to go back to work tomorrow. We stayed home all weekend, and did usual stuff. I went to Costco, and did some shopping with my daughter and grandson. It was fun seeing him. He wanted to come home with me and cried when we were parting at Costco. Made me sad and happy at the same time!

We went to a local Mexican restaurant for dinner Saturday. It was very authentic. I was pretty stuffed, and I was impressed at how cheap the plates were.

Today was church, then home for dinner. I fixed a recipe I found on line for turkey thighs. It had dried cherries, black olives, leeks, and port wine in it. You cook it in the crock pot. It was pretty good! I served it with a brown rice couscous...(couscous has gluten...sigh) I also made a raspberry salad.

Tomorrow I am going to the market for lunch with a friend. Then we have small group tomorrow night. Someone is fixing Cuban style black beans and rice...and I am taking dessert. I will probably just buy something at the market They have a wonderful dessert bar.

I may try to go to the early water aerobics class. It all depends on whether I wake up in time to get over there! Class starts at 8... I can't go to the later class and make it to the market in time to meet up with my friend.

Hope everyone is doing well! Will check in tomorrow afternoon!

Happy Monday everyone. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was busy buts lots of sitting and then down time when we got home. I actually think I may have taken a turn for the better. I feel better and the dizziness doesn't seem as bad. We will see since I am back at work. Lots of eating and lots of wine so I am back on track this morning.

Ellen, I am so intrigued with Indians and their culture. I wish I could have been with you. Funny how just one foot problem can throw off your whole exercie routine. Guess you can't do anything w/o your feet I hope yours is better soon as well as mine. I want to walk and walk. I didn't see my GS over the weekend. I will be glad when he cries to come home with me.

Toni, I wish your family could have stayed and visited longer. I know how much you miss them. I hope they return soon.

Crystle, I hope your sore throat is much better today. Try a spoonful of honey.

Mercee, hope you had a great weekend. know you kept up with your exercise.

Off to log my food. I do great the beginning of the week. Have a great one!

Default good morning

I don't usually report my Monday weigh-in but since it was good this week I think I will..LOL I'm down two pounds. I weigh on Mondays for SparkPeople and Weds. here. That is why I weigh-in twice a week. Not that I don't weigh every day. My throat is still sore but it hasn't stopped me from eating.
We were so blessed at the store this week. I really really wanted to get some extra fage 0 percent Greek style yogurt but it tends to be a bit too high. It was on sale for only 2.99!!! I was thinking God big time because that is how I can add protein to my diet without a ton of calories. I also bought some fiber one to try. It is high but it did what I had hoped it would. And it actually tasted good.

Got a new video. Talk about awesome. Leslie kicked my hiney! It is the four mile walk slim. It is so FAST and fun. She has new moves including some jogging.

Solly...I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. You are still in my prayers.

Mercee..I totally understand why you would keep on working out. This weekend I was feeling poorly but I figured if I skipped it would become easier to have reasons to skip. Exercise is as important to my daily routine as my calorie choices.

Ellen...sorry your staycation is over. Robert is on vacation in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. We don't usually do anything but I just like spending time with him. How precious that your grand baby wanted you.

Toni..oh man I know that had to go so fast. My son was here last week for just a couple of hours. First time in over a year. It flew by. The wedding sounds so beautiful. Hope you had a restful evening last night.

(((Everybody))) Hope ya'll have a super fantastic OP week. Remember you are the best your there is and you are worth it.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Just taking it easy this morning. Going to fix DH breakfast/lunch and I think I'll have an Amy's Indian frozen dinner. I'm so hungry. Got to get back on track after this week end. I tried hard. But still didn't do to good.

Crystle- Congradulations on the 2 lbs. Thats wonderful....

Mercee- Glad you got in the walk before your dinner. What a way to eat right. Get that exercise.

Solly- Hope your day continues to do good. I'm so happy theres some improvement.

Ellen- Sounds like a busy and nice week end. I love Mexican food and was just looking at Green chili recipes on line. Your dinner tonight sounds good. Hope you have a good time today....

Off to cook......

Back from the market! And I just finished an afternoon snack of a bowl of organic popcorn.

I decided to make an apple cake to take tonight instead of buying something. The whole dinner got all confused...the person fixing the Cuban beans and rice backed out so now we are having tacos. I need to make some guacamole to take.

I found something interesting at the market...quail. Tiny little quail. Tom was just asking me to look for it and rabbit. I got two to fix for him. I don't think I would like it, so I will eat something else when I fix it for him. They also had rabbit, but it was $6 a pound and I am short on funds until pay day Friday, so I skipped it. The quails were $2 each. My friend, who is a chef, told me that was a good price and they looked good, so I splurged.

I have the apple cakes in the oven. I made one for tonight and one for Wednesday night. I will freeze it then defrost and heat it a bit before we go to covered dish supper at church on Wednesday. I hope it works out ok. I think it will be ok.

Lunch at the market was good, and I did ok. I did have a bit of eggplant parmesan which I love, even though I knew it was going to have gluten in it. They have the BEST cafeteria. You put what you want on your plate and they weigh it. Its $5 a pound...not bad! A conservative plate of food is usually under $5. They have a lot of international workers, and they serve a lot of unusual international dishes. There was tangine of lamb with apricots, spiced lentils, samosas...just to name a few!

I need to go check my cakes.

SOLLY: I was surprised at the information about the Cherokees. I never knew how advanced they were. Do a Google search on New Echota, and Chief James Vann. I bet you will find some interesting reading.

Default Good evening

I tried another of the new videos. Today it was the five mile..woo hoo. I don't know if it was that hard or I am just that tired today. Still dealing with a stupid sore throat. Praying and believing it will be gone soon.

Ellen...Guacamole sounds good. I LOVE it. Sometimes I eat it as a meal. Have you ever had rabbit before? We raise them but so far this set of bunnies haven't made a littler yet. If she doesn't breed pretty soon I think we are just not gonna bother. My youngest likes me to make rabbit gumbo.

Hope ya'll are having a nice evening.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Good morning ladies. Unfortunately I do not feel as good as the weekend. I guess work realy aggrevates it. Guess I should just sit at home ha-ha. Felt yucky by dinner time so picked at my food. Did have 3 skinless chicken legs with some bbq sauce,1/4 c mashed potatoes, and 1/2 c lina beans. Tried to eat some mixed veggies but it really mde me sick. Later I had some sherbert. I did make some ww muffins for breakfast last night so that is made for the week.

Cryslte, I really like LS tapes. 3 miles was the top before so I guess she has moved up. Good for you getting that done and losing 2 lbs I love Greek yogurt. It tastes like cheese cake to me.

Mercee, good for you keeping up with your excercise. Like they said once you skip you come up with all kinds of excuses to skip. Keep up the good work.

Ellen, I bet your cak would have been better than any store bought cake anyway.

Toni, glad you are resting up from your company.

Not really too in to this today so I am off. Have a great one
