Hello everyone! I had lunch with a friend today at Sweet Tomatoes...its one of those all you can eat salad places. So I had a large plate or two of salad, and I did not use any dressings. I did have a few premade salads too, so don't think I was really good, or anything. I tried their chicken taco soup too. It was good, but not all that great. Fun place to eat though. I was full, but probably not too much bad stuff.

COUNTRY: I know that song. The poor dear...the sleepiness and deliriousness are signs of her kidney failure. It won't be long. I took the day off of exercise kind of too. I am thinking of going and jumping in the pool though. Its hot here today! I went clothes shopping after lunch and could not find anything I was interested in. The shop I went to had very youngish, trendy clothing that just was NOT me. Guess I will try someplace else for more 'mature' fashions...I need a church dress!

SOLLY: I am praying that dizziness clears up totally and soon! It can be from an inner ear problem. There is a maneuver they can do that helps relieve it. It helped me when I had vertigo. I wonder if it would help you. I need to look up the name of it. According to a friend of mine, dizziness can be from a confusion of some little bones in the inner ear that get out of place. The maneuver puts them back correctly as I understand it. Maybe an ear nose and throat doctor could help you. ((hugs))

TONI: Did you find any Indian groceries at Wal Mart? Have you gotten your book yet? You might like butter chicken.... or Chicken Tikka. Saag is spinach..and its pretty good too. I have seen Butter chicken simmering sauce at Wal mart before.... I hope you are feeling recovered today.

Ellen- I didn't get my book yet. I wish it would hurry. So we were kind of in a hurry and I'm so mad at myself for not looking for some. But I need a recipe anyway before I know what I need. I think I've seen that graham marsala there.

I hope they are able to make your neighbor comfortable.

I'm starting to look for winter clothes here. Just stuff like long sleeve t shirts, sweatshirts and pants. I couldn't even imagine trying to find a dress.

Default Good morning

It wasn't a fluke I am down two more pounds for a total of three this week. Just one more pound and I'll be under 180. I haven't been under 180 in over a year so I can hardly wait. It is so funny. I share my weight with ya'll no problem and can't seem to be as transparent in my other weight loss group. I just use pounds lost there. I know it is because I love you all and it is safe here.
My extended family finds it a bit odd because I'm avoiding most not all processed foods and not eating as much meat. Don't get me wrong I eat meat but not every meal. Mostly only at super unless I have a tuna sandwich for lunch or I sneak a bite of the guys bacon from time to time. I've also started back on my apple cider vinegar. I truly believe it is so good for us.
Today is my lazy day and trust me I am being LAZY so far.

Ellen..hope you find that dress you are looking for. A few weeks ago I found the most beautiful blue suit for 3.50 at a resale shop. You would not know that it wasn't new. I also got a couple of shirts I'm hoping to wear this winter. They are tight so I'll have to wear them under other shirts but that is okay. One is paisley and I love love love paisley. That salad spot sounds really neat. There are not a lot of place like that around here. There may be one in Houston but I don't know.

Toni...I'm not sure what kind of sweats you are looking for but haines.com has them on sale for 6.99 right now. They usually have reasonable shipping. How is your weekend going so far? I'm having quiet time and it is so nice. Today I'm playing on the computer and vegging.

Solly...I pray this weekend is a turning point for you and you begin to feel like your ole self.

Mercee...Thinking of you this weekend also. You are rocking on your weight loss and exercise. I can't tell you how much you have encouraged me through what you do and your kind words as I've struggled to get back on track.

You ladies ROCK! I'd give each of you a big hug if I could. Hope you have a blessed and restful weekend.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Good Saturday to you all. Its going to be a hot day in our little town today. Maybe its a good day to barbecue. I can't believe I got my hubby to eat a little broccoli this week. His family would be amazed LOL. I had a great day yesterday. I'm hoping I repeat it again today. Only thing I didn't get my walk in. Hopefully this evening. I ate great and didn't have anything after 8 last night. Big for me! LOL....

Crystle- I'm so excited for you. Two more lbs. Man three lbs. this week is wonderful. You are truly an inspiration. I'm wanting so bad to get out of the 190's, I can't even imagine being out of the 180's. Woo hoo..... I was watching Dr. Oz the other day on tv and he's having a 10 lb. challenge and I'm trying for that. Hoping to give me motivation. Thanks for the tip on the sweats. I'm going over to the site as soon as I get off here.

Hello Ellen, Solly, and Mercee.... And anyone who's lurking. Come join us.

Hey lady! You got this. You are already on the road to dropping those pounds. I think challenges are a great way to motivated us when we feel a little weary. Keep up the good work and don't let the weekend trip you up. I figure if I tell you that then I can remember to do the same things. The weekends are getting better but they are still harder than the weekdays. Especially since it is usually the time I don't exercise. I'm doing laundry today so I think that should count.

Tom had to work today for a release that is going in next weekend. He will probably have to work next weekend too. That is three in a row, and I sure hope the give him comp time off! (not that he will ever take it!)

I went to Costco today and ran into an old friend. It was nice to see her, and we did some chatting catch up in the aisle there for 45 minutes!

We had mostly leftovers for dinner and I feel very bloated. Something did not agree with me. I am considering switching up my menus and diet. I feel like I have hit a brick wall. No energy, no weight loss, bad blood sugar levels....

No news on my neighbor, she is about the same. They had family in from out of town, so I did not try and go visit. I will wait until things quiet down on Monday.

TONI: Garam Masala is a blend of spices. I can give you a recipe for it if you can't find it. I have recipes for curry pastes as well. The hard to find stuff, like curry leaves, and tindora, or drum are about all I need to find at an Indian store. I made my own sambar powder. If you can't find stuff, just ask. My husband works with almost all Indians and they are very helpful with recipes and how to make substitutions for hard to find ingredients. I hope you like it! If your recipes are too hot, you can always tone the heat down, or up...

COUNTRY: Oh YEAH! That three pounds is awesome! I am so glad all the exercise is paying off. Running will definitely benefit you. I think I have told you my husband is a runner. He runs five miles three or four times a week...barefoot! There is a great book out called Born To Run by Christopher McDougall. I was so inspired reading it I wanted to run...and I hope eventually to get to the point I can.

Getting ready to go to a wedding shower at the church. I haven't been to one in so long. Hope the turn out is good. Eating has been pretty good this week end. We've got a pork tenderloin thawing for dinner. Along with a baked sweet potato and a salad it should be good.

Ellen- Thank you so much for the help in Indian cooking. I have no idea what I'm doing. LOL I got my book yesterday. I've never even tried lentils. I can't wait to try something.

Crystle- Hope you had a nice day yesterday. It was so nice here.

Guess I'd better get on my way. Have a great Sunday.

I have had a pretty bad day. Don't want to talk about it...doesn't involve eating. Eating was pretty ok.

I have a terrible headache, and I could cheerfully punch someone's lights out. Not good.

Its almost late enough to go to bed, so I think I will head in that direction.

I hope tomorrow is better. My neighbor in hospice is failing...she is sleeping most of the time and having some fluid in the lungs problems. Now sure how much longer she will last.

Sorry to be such a downer.

Happy Monday laides, Well, I am still dizzy. Maybe not quite as much but then again I did nothing yesterday but sit almost. So I am sort of glad I am at work to see if this work makes it worse. We have talked to 3 specialist trying to come up with something.

Ellen, I had a cat scan and there was no fluid or anthing wrog with my ears so we don't know. Hope your day has improved and you are feeling better. Praying that your neighbor does not suffer any longer.

Crystle, 3 lbs is awesome! I can't believe you are going into the 170's without me!. Food does not interest me. Especially good food. I only want junk. Veggies just turn my stomach right now. I think the lower you go, the more it makes you want it.

Toni, Sounds like you are right back on track and doing good so far. Have you tried to walk your driveway any more?

Getting off here now. Have a great day.

Its a beautiful day here in the Ozarks today. But would love some more of that fall weather. When it cools down this evening I'll try to walk again. I'm still having trouble with the sweets. Can't wait till they're out of the house. Barbecued good stuff all week end. Trying to think of something healthy for tonight.

Solly- Don't forget The Biggest Loser starts tomorrow night. I can't wait. Hoping it gives me motivation. Oh my gosh that's awful about the dizziness still being there. I hope work isn't making it worse. I can't believe they can't find out whats causing it. Come on doctors!

Off to fix lunch. I'm starving.

Afternoon! I went to visit my neighbor and she was MUCH improved! What a blessing to see her sitting up and talking. So quietly I could hardly hear what she was saying, but she was for the most part lucid and alert. If she continues to be this good, they may send her home day after tomorrow. She even ate some breakfast. I did not get a chance to ask about her kidneys...but I may message her sister and ask.

I am cooking dinner for our small group tonight. I am making chicken korma, brown basmati rice, bottle gourd (an Indian veggie a co-worker gave Tom) and maybe some spinach. I also made a batch of oven baked samosas. Someone else is bringing naan and mango ice cream for dessert.

Oh, wow! My neighbor just called! They are bringing her sister home tonight! She will be much more comfortable and happy at home.

Ok, off to finish up my cooking.

SOLLY: Praying for your dizziness. I sure hope they can figure out why you are having this problem. And why is it when we are sick or facing problems, only junk food is appealing? Why couldn't we crave lean protein, steamed veggies, and low glycemic fruits? My neighbor was telling me this morning that when she is sad or depressed, she has a hard time eating. I told her I was just the opposite...I never met an emotion I couldn't eat for!

Ellen- I'm so happy for your neighbor. Its so good she gets to come home where she will be happier. What a blessing. Your meal sounds wonderful. I looked for some brown lentils today and no such luck. I'll check at Wal Mart next time I go and if not I'll have to order them online. I'm thinking when I get paid the first I'll try and order some spices. I've still got to read and find out what I need. Have a good time with friends.

Default Howdy

How are ya'll this evening? Me, I'm good. Did some mowing earlier in the day and then did an hour walk video. That pretty much did me in..LOL I made the best chili out of soy crumbles. If I hadn't used beef broth it would have been vegetarian. But it needed that little ump. It was SO good that even my picky eater said it was good. We don't eat soy often but it was on sale and I wanted to try it. I really like to make spaghetti with soyriso. We found some of that on sale once also.

Ellen...I am so happy that your friend is getting to come home. Your dinner sounds yummy. One of these days I'm gonna have to make a road trip.

Toni..sorry those sweets are testing you. Hide them in the freezer. ((hugzz)) You are doing great sweets or no sweets.

Solly...So sorry you are still fighting the dizziness.

Mercee...how is your week going so far?

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Group went well tonight. I should have made one more dish...something with dal or beans...but there was enough. They just ate it all!

TONI: I can tell you what spices you need! (keep them in the freezer to keep them fresh!) These are the ones I use the most: tumeric, coriander, cumin, Indian red pepper, black mustard seeds. Cardamon is used some, but its very expensive and honestly, I have made SO many recipes and never needed it. All the ones you use the most you can get at any grocery store. If you can't find brown lentils, substitute green ones. They are close enough. One ingredient I hope you can find is Channa Dal. Its called Bengal gram, chana, and sometimes it is called other names. Its very low glycemic, and really good. I also fix a lot of chickpeas. Chana Dal is actually a very small variety of chickpea.

COUNTRY: I have a bag of soy TVP. I used in spaghetti sauce once. My daughter and son in law were here for dinner and they actually liked it. I did not tell them it was TVP until after they ate though! I will have to try using the rest of the bag in chili. Well, if it ever cools off! It was 94 here today!
