Hello all. Well I polished off the last 4 shortbread cookies last night. I'm free of sweets and I'm sure the scale will tell on me. How did I ever get back on sugar. I'm hoping today is new day and a new start for me.

Mercee- You sound very busy. Keep up the good work.

Ellen- Thanks so much for the list of stuff. I wrote them down to get at the first of the month. I found that Channa Dal at the Indian Store online. So I'll get that too.

Crystle- I would love to get some soy crumbles. I want to get away from so much meat. I'll look again when I go to wal Mart. Glad you're still walking. Keep it up, you're doing great....

Off to make lunch.

Default Howdy

It is so nice today. It is cloudy but cool enough to have the door open. There is a nice breeze blowing through the house.

Eating is still going well. I don't eat enough believe it or not but other than that I am right on track. Had a yummy bowl of chili for lunch. I like getting full with only 150 calories. Breakfast was cantaloupe.

((Everybody))

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Crystle- Wish I had a cantaloupe I just love them. Have a great day.

I meant to check in earlier, but I was running errands and doing laundry. I have everything ready to stir fry for dinner...chicken and brococli with bamboo shoots and mushrooms. I will make half of it when Tom gets home and when he goes out to run he will take it to my neighbors. Then when he gets home from his run, I will stir fry the other half for our dinner. Though I may skip it. I am not very hungry, and meat is not sounding appealing tonight. I considered getting tofu but it was so expensive at the grocery store!! I did not have time to run by the Asian market where it is less than half what the grocery store wants.

I think I am going to take a few days break from fixing Indian meals. I am about Indianed out. So I just kind of moved over in Asian a bit and planned a Chinese menu for tonight....I should sit down and plan out menus for a week. It would be rather helpful, and I might could use up all the surplus we have around here! The cabinets are full of odd ingredients for things I was going to fix and never did...maybe its time to DO it...

I have had a migraine lingering for a few days. I did not exercise today...Country...kick my hiney, K?

Off to finish up dinner preps!

Default Good evening

Ellen, I sympathize with the headache. Just took some advil about 30 minutes ago. Tried to fight it with out medicine but that didn't happen. Okay don't make me have to get pushy... Get that booty rooty in gear, you'll feel better.

Toni...I can't begin to tell you how much your encouragement pushes me to keep on. I've been feeling like a marshmallow the last few days and it has been hard to push myself. Glad those sweets are out of the house. Now to get them out of your system. ((hugzz))

Solly...

Mercee...

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Crystle- I love chili but usually make it in the winter. I hope yours was yummy. Keep up the good work. You are doing great.

Ellen- Hope you made it to your class today. How did your chinese food turn out last night? I always tell my husband I am working out to beat back diabetes the weight loss is just a bonus.

Toni- I really like the Amy's dinners as well. They are kind of expensive but I buy them every now and again.

Solly- Hope you feeling better.

Well back to work. Have a great day everyone. We can all do this.

Good morning ladies, We had a bid yesterday and I was so busy and sick. I ended up going home at 4:00 sice I did not have lunch and I had some type of spell when I went in the house. I was walking towards our living room to the bid double chair so I could lay my head back and prop up my feet and I got down the hall and I heard this ringing in my head and I couldn't walk or was afraid to walk (don't know which) but things were different. I kept yelling for my husband but he was outside with the dog. When he came in I had made it to the couch and was just sitting. I was afraid to move. I laid down and didn't move for awhile. Later I got changed and felt better. I was still dizzy and my head feels weird. Sure glad I go back to the surgeon tomorrow morning if he will have any ideas. Sat in the chair all night and went to bed around 9:30.

Ellen, I am so glad your neighbor is better. Everyone is more comfortable at their own home. Hope your migraine is gone soon.

Toni, throw away the sweets. I did watch BL last night except for the last 30 minutes. I will catch that later. Most of the contestants don't weight a lot, I was surprised. Lots of 200#. I love Amy's WW pizza too.

Mercee, glad you are working and working out the same. Keep it up. 3 lbs is awesome. You are such an inspiration.

Crystle, you did lots of exercise yesterday girl. I am not eating much meat at all, b/c it turns my stomach. The other night I had a veggie plate.

Hello everyone! I went to water aerobics this morning. Great workout! She really hit the aerobics this morning and kept us moving the whole hour. I was pleased because last night I made some decisions regarding my diet and ate the chicken stir fry with very little rice. This morning my blood sugar was with in the target range for the first time in two or three weeks. I am going to move back towards a lower carb, more SB/Atkins/Protein Power approach. I took Mercola's metabolic typing test twice this morning...I came out a mixed/protein type. I spent a good bit of time researching and reading yesterday and today. I enjoyed the vegan diet, but its just not working long term for me. I can't say it was the vegan diet, or the cpap machine that helped me lose the weight I have lost. WHY does it have to be so complicated??? At any rate...

I weighed this morning when I got back from class and I am back down the one pound I gained while my sister was here. I feel good about it. I feel like more is in store....

SOLLY: I sure hope the surgeon has some answers for you tomorrow. How awful to be dealing with all this dizziness and trouble! ((hugs))

COUNTRY: I got out and went to class! No kicks in the hiney needed...today. NO telling about tomorrow.

MERCEE: You GO! Three pounds is awesome! Do you find the exercise and weight loss to be helping maintain control of your blood sugar levels? Mine is always a mystery. I lost weight...and as they recommend it for control, I expected to see improvement. I was so disappointed I did not. I read an article yesterday saying good research studies showed Atkins was much better for sugar control than the ADA diet, but the ADA won't recommend it because they think its too strict. Huh? Does that make any sense? sigh....I am losing ALL faith in the AMA, ADA, and feeling like I need to figure this out on my own. Well, honestly, I have been feeling that way for a while now!

Didn't weigh in today. Will have to do it tomorrow. Thought about it to late and it was probably cause I don't think I've done very well.

Crystle- Hope you're having a good day. And maybe getting some walking in.

Ellen- Your dinner sounded good last night. I love Chinese food and especially stir fry. Congratulations on the lb. Your hard work is paying off.

Solly- So sorry you're having such a bad time. That sounds scary what happened to you in the hall. I'll pray you get some answers tomorrow when you see the surgeon.

Mercee- Oh my goodness 3 lbs. is just great. You're really going to town on that weight. Keep up the good work.

Ellen- I feel that my diet and exercise together have made the difference for me. My morning blood sugar was always high. Every since I started literally writing down everything and exercising 6 days a week I have seen a real turn around. Also I was a person who never ate breakfast. Once I started eating breakfast the weight started dropping. The dietician explained to me that I was eating properly otherwise but without breakfast my body thought it was starving so it would hold on to whatever I ate. My morning numbers now range fron 101-128 at the highest. I really think changing my workout schedule was my game changer. Sometimes I really don't feel like working out but I know if I don't diabetes will win. I also pray for strength and determination.

I'm cooking a ground turkey and ground round meatloaf for dinner along with baked sweet potato and roast fresh asparagus. Yum, it smells so good in here and I'm so hungry. Today has been a good eating day. Right now I'm having a cup of green tea.

Mercee- You're such a good example. I can't believe how good the ladies are doing here.

Solly- I'm thinking about you this evening and wondering how you're doing. I hope you're getting some rest.

Ellen- Sounds like you've got your eating plan all worked out. I'm sorry the vegan way wasn't the best way. You sure gave it a heck of a try.

Crystle- How has your day went? You're awfully quiet...

Default Good evening

Howdy ya'll. I actually ate breakfast this morning but then I missed lunch. I haven't been a good eater to be honest but I'm working on it. Don't get me wrong I've been eating legal just not enough. I don't know why it is either feast or famine with me. I was kinda lazy and just did a short workout. But it was plenty. I was wet from head to toe.

Ellen..woo hoo..WTG getting out there and getting it done. Good thing cause I know it was scary thinking of this ole country gal coming to Atlanta to set ya straight. I think you'll be happy that you added a little meat in your diet. I know there are veggie proteins but I think the small amounts of meat will help you with your sugar levels. If you are doing the best you can you have to remind yourself diabetes is a disease and it doesn't play by the rules. But we do have one weapon that it doesn't and that is prayer. I am going to not only pray that your numbers get better but that one day your sugar will no longer be an issue. ((hugzz))

Solly...my heart truly aches that you are going through so much right now. I could feel your fear as you were calling for your honey last night. You are in my prayers also. Praying that the doctors get to the root of this dizziness and that you do not have any more of those attacks. Also that you get stronger every day.

Mercee..What can I say? You are really rocking this weight loss thing. You are doing amazingly well. Congrats on the three pounds and the thirty plus total!!!!

Toni...I skipped weighing today also. I felt fluffy and decided I would wait until tomorrow. It is not like I don't weight at least 10 times a day. Messed up I know but it is what it is. Your dinner sounds a lot better than mine. I had a half a tuna sandwich full of onions, celery, peppers, egg whites, and dill pickles. Oh and on the side some pickles okra.

Promised to play a game with Tator so I'd better get.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Ok, I have to share this story. A few weeks ago, we were sitting in church (new one we are visiting and will prob. join) and Tom writes me a note to notice one of the women in the choir. I do. Then he writes me a note to notice a man sitting on the other side of the church. I do. They look familiar, I look again and realize it is a couple we went to church with almost 30 years ago. Last Sunday on the way out of church, Tom found himself next to the man, and introduced himself to him. Not even a flicker of recognition. So tonight, we go to the potluck and Bible study, and they were there. I asked Tom if he thought we should tell them who we are..and he says yes. So, there were two places left at their table after we got our food and we sat there. I approached and asked if they all minded, and of course they said no. The couple we knew looked at me, I smiled and said hello ___ hello ___ ....the shocked look on their faces that I knew their names was priceless. So I sat down and explained. We had a delightful time during dinner catching up! And you know, I just LOVED doing that to them. I am kind of naughty.

I painted this afternoon. The portrait is shaping up some. I am still nervous about it. Its looking more like the girl, which is a good thing for a portrait, no?

I tried to eat light at the dinner. I did take a little of the brown rice I made to go with the Chicken Tikka. I used a new brand of Tikka paste, and it was much hotter than the other brand I use. I don't know if the folks at church liked it, but Tom and I did!

Ok, I think I will go check my painting, then head to bed. Until tomorrow!
