Default hello...

been a bit since I've been on, lots of not being home lately. Well, I'm actually up quite a bit now since a party I went to the other day...boy alcohol adds it up doesn't it? That and a few hamburgers... they just kept coming all night! Boy do those people cook a lotta food with their parties! Anyway, I think I'm a few lbs up now... I'll be working on that. I hope that because a lot of it was liquid it will be easier to get rid of.

NightAngel-'Tis grilling/party season again! I'm sure getting back on track will help you see that "party" weight leave with relative ease.

AmyLynn76 and beaka- We look forward to having you with us as we all work toward a healthier us! I didn't put the exercise goals on the list because there's a separate exercise thread here: http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge.html
BTW, good luck on the 5K training, beaka!

SugarRox-I do the multivitamin as sort of an insurance plan..in case I'm not getting everything I need from my food alone. Sometimes I think I can tell a difference, but mostly not a distinct one. Thanks for your feedback on the OP thing. I think you're right.

onestar-Like I said to SugarRox, I think you guys are right. I ate modestly and what I planned, so I will count it as OP. I had a similar experience yesterday.

We were invited to a friend's house for yesterday's lunch and I knew I would eat what I was served, but if it was unhealthy I'd eat a small portion to try to minimize any negative effects. I wasn't an unhealthy meal and they served a salad with it, so I felt very good about the meal. Then they had sweet potato pie with homemade whipped cream for dessert. I had a small piece (I'd never had it before) and enjoyed every bite, but at no point did I feel guilty, "full", or as if I'd overindulged. That is usually the red flag for me....my own conscience. So, I feel great about how I handled all my weekend challenges. And just in case I had overdone the calories, I did my longest run ever yesterday afternoon (7 miles) to counteract it. I felt great afterwards and even did some yardwork. I did end up with a blip up on the scale (136.0), but since I woke up with chubby fingers, I think it was due to water retention. Maybe from the run, maybe from the sports cream I used, and/or not getting consistant water throughout the day. Who knows, but I'm not at all concerned. I'm pretty positive it'll be gone tomorrow.

Hi everyone, my work is getting ready to begin for next season, so I find my time short--I read everyone's post and then I don't have time to respond with personals, so i keep not posting!

I'm feeling really good lately (well, actually, I'm coming down with a cold or something, but in an overall sense of well-being, I'm feeling fantastic). TOM is packing his bags, and is trying to leave his garbage with me. I'm at 184.2 today, up a pound from yesterday, but I'm not worried, because it doesn't matter. I'm doing everything right, so there's no way to fail. This attitude is doing wonders for me right now. Rarely do I have TOM and a cold at the same time and say I feel great. I'm going to parties, enjoying all the things I love, but making it all part of the plan so I can feel good about everything rather than stress over it, because the stress makes me retain weight. Good riddance to stress and good riddance to the weight.

Next week will probably be a different story when Season 3 of the CSA begins!

I'm down to 233.6 today. There's something about these numbers under 235 that make me feel great - I mean, 233.6 seems WAY lower than, say, 238. I don't know why :lol. I guess it's sort of like 199 seeming so much smaller than 200. 1.6 more pounds until I hit my April goal. At this rate, I might even get under 230 by the end of the month!

Ms_Perception- Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've had a good day today. Did W6D1 of the C25K and made some AWESOME seafood paella with brown rice and lots of veggies. I've been doing a lot more cooking lately trying to make tasty healthy meals. Lots of dirty dishes, but so worth it. I weighed in at 194.0 this morning, which was amazing. I weigh everyday and count Wednesdays as official WI. I think kicking it up is really working.

mystical-Let us know how the gym goes with DH. Good for you for not blowing it off for the day...and for getting the food back on track!

LouisaH-Glad you posted even though time is short. TOM is just about to leave here as well. I didn't even think about that being another possible reason for the tiny upswing this morning. I SO agree that I can't be down about it since I know I've been in control, making each event I've attended work in my plan and I'm (most of the time) in a MUCH healthier place with food than in the past! PLEASE keep posting even when CSA stuff has you running crazy. I really love your posts!!

SugarRox-Good attitude! You can totally do this!!!

eclipse-Funny how certain numbers make such a difference in our minds, huh? You're dong great by the way! Keep it up and you will blow your goal out of the water!

beaka-That paella sounds good! I did C25K last spring and I'm STILL running, so keep it up! It's an incredible way to drop the inches. Also, YES, there are a lot more dirty dishes when I cook well, but it is absolutely worth it!!

Dixiemae-You silly woman. A hike isn't a day off! That's a great workout! I also love to hike, though I rarely fit it into my schedule. The best place for me is at the state park near here. I need to get a season park pass so I can go more often!

Today was another great OP day with a nice leisurely walk with my girls and dog this afternoon. SUCH a beautiful day!

Is it too late for me to join you folks? I am new to the forums and today is day 3. My April goal is to eat in a healthy, sane way and to start to move my body a bit every day. I am very out of shape and have little stamina but I will get there. Another April goal is to come here to the forums for support if I feel like giving up and am close to overeating. Hi everyone!

1. I want to get to at LEAST 205, if i can get lower.. better!

2. work out 5 times a week

3. alternate my work outs between the Bike, elliptical and walking 3-7 km. I'd aim for 4.5/5 km. an hour each, the elliptical though i like to stay on for about 45.

4. Keep calorie counting, incorporating more protein, i never was getting enough, always hungry so it helps curb hunger.

5. Still follow serving sizes by LA weight loss

Hello Ladies!!

So I had a minor slip up today. I had 2 chips ahoy cookies. I dont keep stuff like that in my house but I went over to my moms and they were on the counter and I really couldnt resist. Im back on track and hopefully I wont have anyother slip ups.

I did go for my run though, and Im so proud of myself. I was able to run almost the whole 30mins without stopping. When I first started 2 weeks ago I couldnt run half a block without stopping. My knees are killing me though, they hurt really bad and I dont know why. They hadnt been bothering me before. I did ice them down after my run today though to see if that helps. Could it be that Im too heavy to be running? I also run with my dog, could that be throwing off my form and causing the pain???
