  • It's Friday and my official weigh in and I am at 146. I have lost three pounds this week, which is great.

This is the first time in a long time that I went a week without a binge day. I have a lot of motivation to lose weight. I am going on a trip in the last week of May and during the trip I will be visiting my ex, who was truly the great love of my life. We have talked on the phone, but haven't seen each other in 9 years. I am wondering if the spark will still be there.

I stepped up my exercise considerably this week. Now that I see it, I was only exercising once in a while before. Now it's everyday.

  • jewels05 and juliastl27! Good to have you with us on the journey!

motivated chickie-Yay on the 3 pounds! That's great!! Hmmm the trip and seeing the ex should be interesting. The only weird thing would be if one felt the "spark" and one didn't, ya know? Nevertheless, it's always good to see old friends!

NightAngel-Hallelujah for progress! It's always encouraging to see things going the right way. Yeah, the baggie with the corn chips looked a little greasy. Who needs that when I'm on a good roll right now, right?!

Taurie-Sorry to hear your body rebelled against the refined carbs, but as you said...you can eat clean now. Maybe your body will flush it all out relatively quickly and easily and you'll be back to where you were very soon. Was it a good trip otherwise?

mystical-You know we're here for you, hon. Get to that gym and get the junk food out of the house and you'll make huge progress right there. Why is food so darn comforting?!? Well, we'll comfort you now, so vent here, not with extra portions at supper, k? Take good care!

Alright ladies, I'm knocking on the door of success for April. Today I weighed in at 135.4! YAY! AND today will mark my 7th OP day IN A ROW!!!! I mentioned earlier it's iffy since my mom and I are going to a thing tonight with desserts/chocolate, but I'll be golden up 'til then for sure. I will allow myself one modest dessert OP, but if it goes beyond that the streak will be broken. Here's to self-control!!
  • MsP: for your success this week and thanks for the correction

Taurie: Except for the carbs and the lethargic feeling, how was your trip?

    NightAngel: for the 2 pounds.

Motivated chickie: for the 3 pounds and specially for the binge free week. with your trip.

    SW: 176.2
    CW: 173.6 (4.6 to go)
GW: 169 (overweight BMI/No longer obese)
    WL: 2.6
  • MsP -Good Job. It looks like your headed for a great month. Im sure with a little self control you wont break your OP streak. You can do it!!!

The scale was back down today. 166 but still not the 163 I saw on Monday. I went running this morning and I will go again this evening.
  • NightAngel - congrats on the 2 lbs!

Motivated Chicke - exercising most days brings the best results for me too. I find it also motivates me to eat on plan. Congratulations on losing 3 lbs in one week!

Ms P - Yeah, I suspect the weight will be back to normal by end of next week. The trip was great. Italy is so pretty, and I got to practice my Italian, which was nice.

Aluxa - It was very nice thanks. I got a lot of work done on my thesis, enjoyed the sun, a bit of R&R. I got see the Trulli houses of Puglia; they're so charming.
  • Hi Ladies!

I'm back from the awesomeness that is Mexico and just finishing up some final exams for school. Everything should be wrapped up by next week so I shall be a bit scarce until then.

MsP - My goal is to maintain. Just that
  • Thanks to all of you ladies.. I am doing well today just finished up some cereal and banana and then I am running some errands and going to drop buy the gym on the way home think I will do mainly cardio today. Got a question for you ladies should I do mainly cardio for a while or do strength training and how often should I do the strength training? Thanks for your advice. Hope you all have a wonderful day
  • So, I'm off my pain meds for good. I'm sticking to the flexeril (muscle relaxer) at night and OTC ibuprofen during the day. I took one of my pain meds Wed morning and by noon-ish I had gained about 6 lbs in water (my weight does not fluxuate more than a couple of lbs in a day lately), my feet couldn't fit in my shoes, my wedding ring felt like it was choking my fingers - I felt like a big piece of poop. My husband suggested I take my blood pressure, and it was way high, so I called my doctor who told me to take an extra dose of my bp meds and to stop taking the med. I didn't know that this med can sometimes reduce the effectiveness of blood pressure meds (she HAD told me to call if I had edema, and this was definitely edema!). So, I took another one, peed and peed and peed the rest of the day and all night, bp dropped back down in a couple of hours, and lost most of the weight by yesterday morning, and even more by this morning (down to 234.2 this morning). You want to know the crazy thing? The med isn't even that intense. All it is is rx strength Aleve - naproxen. I've never taken Aleve before, and I don't think I will again. It worked better on my pain than ibuprofen, but I'll stick with IB. She offered to rx vicodine, but I can't take that and take care of my kids at the same time, and it makes me paranoid. So, IB it is!

Since today is my official weigh in:
    April Starting Weight: 238
    Current Weight: 234.2
    Goal: 232
    Left to goal: 2.2 lbs
  • The conference with mom was great. Friday night I was in control with the dessert and felt okay about it. I'm sure I could've been even more modest with my portion, but it was a nice treat and it was chocolate fondue, so it was some fruit covered in the yummy stuff and a couple 1" squares of brownie.
Today the lunch was a sandwich, chips and chocolate chip cookie. I did eat all of it, but it was accounted for since I kind of assumed that's what it would be. I guess I should've skipped the chips and cookie, but I didn't so that's that. Now, I'm just getting plenty of water and hopefully I won't see too much effect on the scale. One more suspect meal which is lunch tomorrow at our new friends'. Then it's smooth sailing again for 4-5 days. I did make the 7 days OP and now I'm debating whether to count today as OP. It was planned and not over the top, but I had to eat off my normal plan due to the event, so in that sense it was off-plan. Confusing, huh?
I better get some rest. I seriously need to catch up on sleep.
  • Ms P: i think you should count it as OP since you had already accounted for it.

dancer: i signed up on the site but am still getting used it. i cant figure out where to click to search the database of foods.

mystical: sounds like a good plan!

eclipse: sounds like the pain med has more of a risk than benefit. i wouldnt want all side effects either. hope the IB is enought for you. good luck!

tummygirl and taurie: thats so awesome that you guys got to travel! i want to go somewhere this summer too. it's been a while since i've traveled anywhere.

well, i'm off to the park. it's so pretty outside today! will check in later.
  • had an awesome workout at the park and hope the scale is down in the morning. i drank soo much water today i'm actually kind of sick of it lol. night.
  • Hi Ladies!!!

Eclipse Im not able to take naproxen either, I get horrible chest pains with it. Ive taken flexeril before for a back injury and even though I took it right before bed it left me insanely dizzy/light headed. Good luck with everything, I hope the IB does the trick for you.

MsP I think you should count is as OP as well since everything was accounted for

I noticed when everyone was posting their goals, that several people mentioned taking their multivitamins. I dont currently take any vitamins/supplements. Ive been in and out of the doctors office with some unresolved medical issues, nothing major though. Today when talking to my mother she mentioned that she thinks my problem may be a vitamin deficiency somewhere and that I should start taking vitmains. Do yall notice a difference when you take multivitamins? Or is it more of a peace of mind kind of thing? Do you just take a multivitamin or any other specific vitamins? I would love yalls input on this.
  • Hi, Ladies!

I was hoping I could jump in here. Ive been looking for a good, supportive challenge thread. Ill be honest, I've joined a couple of challenges in the past and kinda flaked on them. Not because I'm not still OP, but because I don't usually post everyday. I've really been trying to step it up though. I have my 1st 5K on May 1 so I'm trying to be in the best shape I can by then.

    My goals for April:
    1. Jog 2.2 miles straight (I did 1.63 mi yesterday, a new best)
    2. 192.0 lbs (WI was 195.6 this morning)
    3. Some lifting 2x a week (did Body Pump this morning)
  • I'm coming into this a little late but a challenge sounds good. My goals for April are:

    1. Remember to take my multivitamin daily.
    2. Exercise is some way every day.
    3. Get under 200lbs. (or 205 i guess)
    4. STAY MOTIVATED
