  • LTTG: Alrighty woman! Time to make a goal for the rest of the month. Keep yourself accountable! You CAN do this!! BTW: We miss Sandye! Where on earth is she?

Dixiemae- Woo Hoo on the 12's!! I'm sure you felt amazing when they fit so nicely. I'm SO happy for you!

    luciddepths-Excellent progress! Keep it up!!

LouisaH- Sorry to hear about the cold junk. That stinks! Take it easy and feel better soon.

motivated chickie-Sooo close to goal!! YIPPEE!!!!!!

NightAngel-Yep, it's been a long journey, but the last several months have been the true test. Pretty much being within 10-15 pounds of goal and people seeing me as an average-sized person has been fantastic. Now the rest is for me and for my overall fitness and satisfaction. It changes things and I've FINALLY gotten ahold of that. It took me a couple rough months to get it together and realize what I want. I'm SO thankful for all of it to help me understand my issues with food and how to deal with them. I'm in a much better place now, thank God!

Geckowall-Good to have you! Great job maintaining!! That's quite an accomplishment in itself. But it's great that you've decided to kick it up a notch and get back to exercising. That's defintely a key to overall health!

secoleman-Good job on the 2 lbs! Get that food in line and you'll be unstoppable!!

onestar-I'm glad you got some down time. I know it's a challenge sometimes to fit it all in and definitely takes some sacrifice, but you're doing it!

bama girl-Being half way right now is just right. You're right on track, so keep up whatever you're doing (the good stuff anyway!).

Rashomon-You're also almost exactly half way. That's fantastic...soon you'll have that shiney new "1" to put at the front of your weight!!

Wow, that was a bunch of personals! I just want you all to know how proud I am of you all on this thread. You're all making good choices or coming to talk it out when some choices have been off. No one is OP 100% of the time. We all have "those days", but we can shift from that to getting back on track faster when we know there are people who want us to do well and support us in it all! Today I was down a bit more, at 133.8 which inches me ever closer to having a beautiful 2 as the middle number in my weight. This Saturday is another challenging food day for me. One meal at my parents', one at a gardening expo, and one at our friends' house. It's a busy day, filled with things I love so I hope that will keep my head in the right place so I don't eat stupid. Thankfully it's just one day, instead of 2 like last weekend, though that went very well. Here's to a successful rest of the month for all who are here!
  • Sorry I'm chatty today:-))) I'm pondering something. I went to the library the other day. A book on hooping caught my eye. I checked it out, brought it home. My grandson looked at the cover of the book. He looked at me and said "Grandma I seriously doubt that you can do this. Hooping! Get real Grandma!!"

That struck me in all the wrong ways!! Why are our loved ones so ready and willing to put me down. Try to discourage me. I hiked 8.8 miles Tuesday. Why can't I hoop if I want to?? I can! I do on the WII. Its a 3 minute game. but I do it. I think the game is fun. Odd how others doubts can build determination. Can't is a state of mind. Can't did nothing but stub its toe, fall, and break its neck. Don't buy others labels!!!! Can't huh!!!!!!!
  • dixie - happy dance for your size 12 - wtg! what is hooping?

msp - glad to hear the scale's still moving in the right direction - you keep us inspired!

lucid - you are cranking - nice job!

louisa - hope you feel better soon - being sick is so tough. Are you getting lots of something soothing to drink? Tea with lemon, maybe?

Doing pretty well here - got in a bunch of yard work which has to have been pretty good exercise and am heading out for a run shortly.

Hope you all are doing well...
  • Dancerindencer~hooping is hula hooping with a big circular tub. Young girls usually play hula hoop. This book has 50 exercises using the hoop. It looks like a lot of fun. Why should the young girls have all the fun? lol you are getting errr done!!
  • Ok - it's the 15th and I am only down 1.4 lbs.
Better kick it up a notch if i am going to make the deadline.
Had a couple of derailments the past to w/e's.

dont think i'll make my 12 pound goal but im gonna try to get as close as possible. i'd have to lose 4 pounds for the next two weeks. hmmmm.
  • Good morning, everyone!

Dixiemae-You are so right. Others seem to want to pigeon-hole us and tell what we can or CAN'T do, but let's break those barriers and accomplish great things! You CAN hoop! Enjoy it!!

onestar-You are losing at a perfect rate, the recommended 1-2 pounds/week. That puts you in great position to get to your goal or awefully close. Yay on the baggy pants!

sznn-Weekends can be tough, can't they. It certainly takes more planning and thoughful choices to stay OP since most of us are less scheduled on the weekends and less structure often = more food. You can do it, though. Let us know how it goes and keep reaching for your goal, even if you miss it you've still lost weight!

dancerindenver-Yardwork..don't remind me! LOL Seriously, I love it, but we have SO much to do since we're starting this yard from scratch this year and there's a LOT to get done. My dad is coming today with his tiller so I can get one of my flower beds in and then get more grass seed in also. Fun, fun, fun! It is great exercise though, so there's another upside!

I was down to 133.4 this morning which scoots me a touch more in the right direction. Yesterday I probably had more calories than I was meant to since I had a sort of weird lunch situation, but I held myself over with a little cheese and some veggies. All in all, I think I handled it very well and said no to cake and lemon bread and all sorts of other things that looked good. I didn't really feel tempted which was a huge blessing. I just knew when I got home, my lunch was there ready for me, so I found it relatively easy to resist...this time anyway.
  • Ms. Perception, I love your comments to everybody. You are very inspiring.

As for me, the scale has said 142 three days in a row so I guess the 4 lb weight loss is real. I don't know how it happened, but I'll take it. I think upping my exercise helped.

This weekend, I have two dance parties & a BBQ to go to. This could mean I get a lot of exercise or it could mean I'll eat a lot. I will plan in advance about my eating, but I'm worried I'll get overtired by being up late and start noshing. One of the dance events is in NYC & in the old days, I used to snack a lot when I traveled. There are plenty of food shops in the train station & it will be a temptation.
  • LouisaH: I hope you get well soon

    Luciddepths: for your progress!

Dixie: for your achievements and with the hooping thing. I’m sure that you can do it.

MsP: thanks for being such inspiration.

    SW: 176.2
    CW: 171.2 (2.2 to go)
GW: 169 (overweight BMI/No longer obese)
    WL: 5.0
  • Just a quick pop in before I head off to the doctor - as of this morning, I'm at 232.4 lbs! I'm .4 off from my monthly weight goal, but I'm officially no longer morbidly obese (my BMI is under 40 - 39.89, to be exact!)!!!! And, that was my other March goal
  • Eclipse: for you new BMI!!!
  • Morning, girls!

Still holding steady at 166 but definitely jonesing for more progress.

motivated - good luck with the snack temptations!

msP - sounds like you are doing great!

    Happy Friday, all!
  • WOOT WOOT!! Keep up the awesome work ladies!/gents!
  • Well, I had an interesting parent conference this afternoon. The mom is a nutritionist at our local univ. She's lost weight since I saw her before Christmas. I asked her about it, and she said she lost the weight by snacking regularly. She had been skipping all snacks and was so hungry at meals that she ate too much.

I should know all this. I've read about the 6 mini meals so many times. But, looking at her today, it really sunk in.

New resolution (I guess I can make those in April). Keep healthy snacks with me so I don't get so hungry.
