Monday, Monday.

Gave in to some pizza Sat. night, but otherwise my weekend was OK. Since being back fully OP since last Monday, I find I'm doing pretty well with my eating, but it's been hard getting back into my regular exercise mode. My goal for this week is to exercise at least 4 days, but hopefully 5!

Hope everyone has a good day.

I'm seriously about to start working purposefully...more so than I have been. I want to see more toning in my workouts. Since I've been doing the two miles on the treadmill I haven't done much in the way of purposeful toning. I will be starting the Slim in 6 to see what it adds to my two miles on the treadmill and plank workout. I'll keep you all updated.

Wow two more weeks until Labor Day...this has been a very long challenge to me. I need something shorter so I don't get distracted.

I did well today, 1250 cal. I gained almost 4 lbs. from these past two days. I saw the scale this morning(110.3) and wow did it shock my into getting back to my whole foods. I losing water already, so hopefully my weight bill be lower in the morning. I going to start to think differently about maintaining. This is no longer about losing weight, it's about staying the same weight. I did alot of studying my past history w/ calories and weights last night and figured my calories should be about 1500 to 1550 to maintain. So after I lose this water, I am starting a new way of thinking. No more depriving myself for days and days, I will allow myself to have what I want in moderation. Then I won't be waiting all week to pig out on whatever I'm craving. The only reason i was waiting was to lose water from the last time I overate. The same cycle over and over for a year is enough! It stops as soon as I hit 105lbs.!

I learn a lot about maintenance from reading your posts, fruitlady -- thank you for your honest chronicle of your maintenance struggle -- I find it very helpful.

--

I weighed myself this morning after several days of sticking to plan with no slip ups, and I gained 1 lb. I know that it was just water, but I still hate to see it go up...

My clothes are getting to be too big -- I bought a pair of capri pants at the Goodwill to wear to work about 2 weeks ago, and have worn them about 3 times. I loved them cuz they fit really well, and I thought that I looked real slim in them -- and guess what? Yup -- they are too big !! My jean capris I had from last summer that were a little too snug at the beginning of this summer (after I had already lost some weight) -- guess what? Yup, you guessed it -- they are too big !! I basically have no pants left to wear to work -- they are all too big -- I am wearing skirts until I can go to the Goodwill on my day off and get something "new". I refuse to spend any "real" $$ on any pants while I am still losing. And another thing -- I need to go bra shopping -- yup, I am losing it there too.

Today was not as good a day plan-wise -- I ate 3 Chips Ahoy cookies for 160 calories, and a whole lot of grapes -- not sure how many, I kept popping them into my mouth thinking that they must be OK cuz they are only grapes -- well, I estimated that I ate 3 cups of them, and Sparkpeople says that is 287 calories. So my total was about 1700-1800 today. Not bad, but not great. Tomorrow is another day...

Jiggle Lori had asked about the next challenge. I am with you this one was long.

Lori how about a challenge from September 7th to October 29th call it the Fall Challenge

Then one from October 30th to November 24th call it the Thanksgiving Challenge

Then we eat and start up again November 27th to December 30th for the final Holiday/End of the Year Challenge.

Hope I don't sound like I'm trying to take over. I'm sure you did well before me. These are just suggestions I'm so excited about these and they aren't even here yet. You'd think I would be reaching my goal this year. I wanted to reach my goal weight by my 45th birthday in April but the calculator that I used said it would not be until May 2011, oh well.

Karen your one pound is probably just water like you said. I know how you feel a pound up is a pound up, sucks. You'll get your whoosh. I'm the only one that doesn't get them. And inches are great

I cleaned out my closet last week. Three 30 gallon bags of clothes. I have bought some new items and thank goodness I can still fit them. I am finding that just because it says a 12 it may fit like a 10 <--- not there yet . You mentioned bras. I just talked about this this morning. DH ordered bras for me because I have a wide back but a small cup so finding bras that fit in stores isn't easy. Well they are all too big around the back now. I am going to fix them on the sewing machine but I have no idea what to do about the cup size. I would love to not wear one at all but after 5 children that is impossible. I'd look a hot mess as my oldest would say.

You enjoyed your chip ahoys, it was one time . Also I get 60 calories for a cup of grapes which I eat quite often. I eat them so often that I know 2 of my handfuls (what I grab off) equal a cup. I have asked people on 3FC also and they use 60 so change your calories there I like fatsecret because it gives all the different kinds of grapes and I just use the American grape at 62calories but on my handwritten journal I use 60. Helps a little.

A handful of grapes is really only 60 calories? Wow -- that makes more sense -- my daughter and I were wondering how something we thought we were eating cuz it was low calorie could add up to so much.

I have been reluctant to switch my tracking from Sparkpeople because I like how they break down the protein, sodium, carbohydrate, etc in what I ate and compare it against a goal (that they set themselves, by the way) -- but if they are not that accurate in their calories what's the point? I am going to check out Fat Secret tomorrow if I have the time --

Karen you get to see the breakdown on fatsecret also and you can enter the foods that they don't have so you know your calories are accurate. I have entered quite a few items that I eat. I love it and it's easy to do on my blackberry also. The site told me that I should eat 1800 calories a day and I changed it to 1600. I hope you'll like it. Have a great night.

Wow, Lori, I just read this question quoted in another post, and realized that I had not seen the question posted, and went back to look for it -- and saw that somehow I had missed an entire post of yours. So sorry to hear about your health problems -- hope it all turns out OK -- I will pray for you.

As far as the next challenge goes, Thanksgiving is too far away for me, I would prefer something closer -- Halloween?

I know you all like doing holiday challenges but Labor Day to Halloween seems way too long for me. I tend to find myself thinking I have a long and I can't seem to stay fully committed to them. But if it's a Halloween Challenge I will be here.

I need to have a different mindset on workouts. I've gotten so used to 20-30 minute workouts and slim in 6 is almost an hour. That is rough. I think it will be very effective so I'm going to work on getting them in and sticking with it for the entire 6 weeks.
