Hi everyone!!!

Hope everything is going good. Well yesterday my calories were going good, until we went out. And well I had way too much to drink. But by this morning I got it all out of my system, lol. I just finally ate for the first time today. So I know that today my calories are going to be WAY low. But I think that I am done drinking for a long time. I hate the after effect. I didn't mind seeing the scale go down 2 lbs this morning, but I think that was from being sick. So I guess we will see if it sticks....

Oh yah after I finally got moving this afternoon, my mom took me shopping for some new clothes that will actually fit me and well I got into a size 8 pants!!!! Yah!!! So there is a NSV for me!!! And I tried on a pair of Medium pants they were a little big so I thought why not try a small, well they didn't have a small, so my Aunt is taking in the mediums!!! I haven't had a size 8 pants since I was in high school, and that is 9 years ago!!!

Well I gotta get the kids in the bath. Talk to y'all later!!
Mary

Calories today~ 1482
Fiber~ 34 grams Grrr...my fiber is always lower on the weekends!

Speaking of fiber...
CjC~ Are you a cereal eater? I like Uncle Sam High Fiber Cereal (wheat flakes + flax seeds) it has 10 grams of fiber per 3/4c serving and only 1 gram of sugar. I usually have it with berries (more fiber) and soymilk (due to lactose issues.) I also really like La Tortilla Factory tortillas. The small ones are only 50 calories and have 8 grams of fiber. Then there are always beans, which I love too.

Petra~ Size 8 pants!!!! I hope to squeeze into a size 8 when I hit goal! Congrats!

CoolMom~ I can identify! I go through cycles; I'm either feeling thin and happy about it, or I think "I have a ways to go", or I focus on what I've heard about the last 10lbs being the hardest. It's a rollercoaster! I just have to keep reminding myself that eventually I will reach goal and this is just a part of the journey. Good luck with having the 3 kids to yourself! I hope you are headache free while your hubby is gone!

Timmyshawn~ Congratulations on the 2lb loss! Way to go.

Great job on the exercise!

Please don't take this as criticism, I'm just concerned that your calories are too low. I remember you said you weren't losing at 1400 and that you aren't hungry, but consuming less than 1200 calories regularly can be damaging to your health (unless you are doing this under a doctor's supervision possibly?)

Changing calories so drastically (from 1400 to under 1000) could also make your body think it is starving (and therefore hold on to everything it gets.) Why not try 1300 and see if you lose on that? If not then try 1200 per day. If you can't lose on 1200 calories per day with the exercise you are doing then I would go to your doctor and see if he/she can run some tests.

I'm saying this out of genuine concern for you! I hope you are not offended, but I had to say something.

Good Morning Ladies!! It's a blah day in Seattle. I only plan on spending about 4 hours at work before I go to the dreaded Gyno. LOL I plan on going home afterwards. I can never go back to work right after. Crazy huh?

CoolMom- I know what you're talking about. I'm so happy that the scale went down, but then when I look at old pictures or see myself in the mirror, I get all depressed. I do not see what what my friends, or co-workers are talking about. I suppose it's something that your mind is used to seeing.
I hope you are not plauged by migraines, I suffer from them too. I hope it's a migraine free couple of days.

Petra- Congratulations on getting into size 8 pants, that's awesome!!! I can only dream of that number for now!

Do any you guys strength train when you work out? I'm working on doing it about 2-3 days a week. Just wanted to know if anyone else on here is doing it?

Mary ~ Glad you haven't gained any. I have weeks that I eat more than I should, like the week before TOM and the week of TOM.

Carrie ~ Sounds like you had a great time. I so need a trip to get away from things. Glad your parents were able to help with the kids.

Timmyshawn ~ CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!

Zoe ~ YEP! It happens to me all the time and since I am not losing quit a pound a week it is really flustrating but a loss is a loss. Hopefully something wonderful will happen this week. I guess I didn't gain fast so why should it come off fast.

Mary ~ Size 8, whohoo. I haven't been a size 8 since I graduated from high school. I know I will get there some day but I am just a little slower than most people. Years of YO-YO dieting and a brush with diabetes. I do feel like my energy is going up which is one of the things I have been looking forward to.

Well this weekend I ate way to much and actually ended the week less than when I started the week, not much, .6 lbs but that is better than a gain or nothing at all. I am looking forward to getting on the scale tomorrow because I did eat a lot of salty naughty food over the weekend. I think I needed the extra cals to boost my off this plateau.

For those that eat soy products. Do you remember when you first started eating soy if it gave you a little energy boost? I really think that may have a little to do with my increased energy. My diet is now mostly veggie based with some kind usually 2 servings of meat a day. A lot of days are all veggie based.

DH at some soy chilli with me over the weekend and he liked it. I liked it but I put a jalapeño in it so it was a little spicer than I would have liked it to be. I am having some more tonight over a baked potato and some FF cheese melted over it. I haven't had that in a long time.

Carrie ~ Thanks for the condolences on DD.

VENTING RANT:
DD is creating more problems for herself but I am trying to keep my nose out of it. I think she is letting a girl, I will refer to her as a THING from here on out, that I would rather slap in the face than look at her move in with her. I hate the THING with a passion and I told her as long as the THING is in the house don't call me for anything. I am sure the diapers and diaper whips I bought for DGS are being used on this THINGS kid also. DD told me to shut up and its her house and she can do what she wants. DD has a rude awakening because of that comment she will not get one red cent from me to help with any of her bills. Her phones and electricity are about to be shut off and I was going to help her but I am not helping now. I also paid her rent last month but she can live on the street with the THING and I will take DGS away from her. The diapers and whips I bought better last at least 3 weeks because if she runs out before that the THING better buy them. I can't talk about it because I can feel my blood pressure rising. This THING has no place to live, has a 13 month old son and since this baby was born has live in flop houses living off other people. Which I don't care about the THING and her kid its that fact that she taught my DD to do the same thing. They were living in the slums of Saginaw, MI which the murder rate has been really high in the past few years. At one point is was the highest in Michigan. Then the THING ruined my DD's car I bought her and turned DD in for not taking care of DGS properly but the THING forgot to look in the mirror. If DD wants to associate with this THING she can but she won't get any help from me. OK, thank you in advance for letting me vent. DH and DD listened to me rant for 20 minutes and then brew the rest of the night after I saw what was there. I have some really unpleasant works I could and have called her to her face but they are true!

Lara~ I'm sorry your DD is giving you so much grief! Sometimes you have to do just what you are saying and not help them. Sometimes hitting bottom is the best thing that can happen to you. It sure helped me get my life together a few years back, I had no one to help me but myself and it took realizing that to get myself together. Be there for your DGS and stick to the tough love with your DD and hopefully she'll be able to lift herself up and get things straightened up.

wow, Grammy!
That "friend" sounds like no good. Hopefully dd will realize that she isn't great friend material..even if she only comes to realize that after the perks from you dry up

Zenor ~ Thanks! She has already hit rock bottom and lifter herself up a little and is headed back down again. I just feel for my DGS and I will continue to watch over him. She called and is trying to get a three bedroom house and I told her that the program she is on won't let her so hang it up. I know what she is up to. There is only her and her son on the program and they won't give her anything bigger than a two bedroom. Sorry about the THINGS luck.

I had to hit rock bottom also before I climbed my way out but it takes ambition and had work. Since my parents didn't have much money to spare I had to do it on my own. Once in a great while my Mom would help me but it was rare. Now, its DD's turn. She has been living this life since she was 17 and moved out. I helped her finish high school and get on special programs. Even on those programs my Mom and I end up paying her bills. Not anymore. Tough love is for the birds. I almost wish I didn't have the money to spare but you know what, we don't because its taking away from our retirement. Enough is enough.

Natalia ~ With friends like this THING who needs enemies. If someone tried to get my child taken away from me I would never speak to them again. Then she blew up DD's car, after slitting the tires and busting the back window out. Stoll her money and cloths. The list goes on and on. My enemies don't even treat me that bad. Nope, DD I think likes the riftraff because they have nothing better to do than cause problems.

Right now I am trying to be good. I can't tell you all how hard it has been. DH and YDD turned to food last night. Me, I did have a dissert that I really didn't need and a single serving size bag of baked chips. So I am not complete innocent and did turn to food not as bad as I used to however. Used to eat until I was sick.

Very quiet here today. Hope I didn't scare anyone off.

Really enjoyed my food so far today.

Breakfast: Morning Star chik patty and 2 slices ww light bread
Morning snack: 1 Laughing Cow, 2 tablespoons hummus on light wasa wafers, 1/2 banana
Lunch: 3 Cheese stuffed rigatoni (LeanCuisine), Lettuce Salad w/Newmans Light Honey Mustard Dressing (1 Tablespoon), 2 sugar free jello cups
Afternoon Snack: 1 Laughing Cow, 2 tablespoons hummus on light wasa wafers, 1/2 banana

So far today 828 calories, just have to add dinner which is the hardest for me. The rest of the day is routine.

Off for the day and I will talk at you all tomorrow.

Good Afternoon ladies! Well just got back from my Dr.s Appt, it went well pretty routine. I looked at scale too....but I had clothes on and normally I weigh more at that time of the day, so I'm hoping it'll be better tomorrow morning when it will be my official day.

GrammyL-
I'm sorry that you hit another rough patch. Hopefully your DD opens up her eyes and removes this "wart." I wish she would realize that she is also not taking in best interest of you DGS. Take care of yourself! You can only do so much.

Today my menu is

B: Kashi Go Lean Crunch, skim milk, banana and strawberries
S: Cottage cheese, and a 1/2 of prunes
L: chicken noodle soup, cauliflower, spinach, and 5 Ritz crackers, and a salad
S: apple
D: probably grilled salmon and salad and veggies

I see where your coming from and i'm not offended at all! It makes sense... a jump from 1400- to under 1000 does seem drastic! I have lost at 1200 before so i'm sure i'll be fine! I just get so wrapped up in calorie counting and sometimes doubt myself... should i eat this extra bite? I will make the effort to eat more! I promise
