Almost forgot to report back regarding the juggling of calories thing (wendy plan) Did not work for me! I couldn't eat the 1800 cal on the high day, then the next day I was starving! I also felt terrible! Didn't work for me, but the idea of the plan seems sound.
I'm going to stick with the daily average 1500, much easier!

Does anyone know what to do with A LOT of celery? We belong to a CSA (we pay for a crop share in a local farm and they bring us produce every week) and we've gotten celery a couple weeks in a row. I can't go through it fast enough and I add it to everything (salads, curries, etc.)

I promise to catch up on posts tomorrow since I have they day off (we work 4 10 hour days in a week.)

Everyone have a great evening!
Wrap your celery up completely in tin foil. It will last around a month to six weeks- just make sure it is completely covered. Also, should it get wilted, put celery stalks in cold water for several minutes, and it will be back to good as new.

Morning!
While fitday doesn't really give you summaries for one month (28 days) I'll do my best. Let's see ....
I ate on average 1568 cals per day. Averaged a walk/jog every other day. Did resistance exercises between 3 and 4 times a week ... and lost three pounds.
A pretty good month, I think.

I like the idea of looking at my numbers for the last month.
It puts some perspective on how I am really doing.
so here is mine.

Total: 1528
Fat: 26%
Carbs48%
Fiber: 42
Protein: 27%

I went to Curves at least3 days a week.
Did other excersise at least 6 days a week.

Averaged at least 11 glasses of water per day.

lost 6 pounds.

Mary,
I think keeping my average calories between 1400-1600 per day has helped. I don’t worry any more where it falls. long as its in that range… and healthy.

although last night I was bad. Was still hungry after work. so I ate a P.b. and sugar free jam sandwich. still in my calories for the day.

Zenor,
Those farm sharing (CSA) Sounds very interesting to me too!
I am going to looking in to it.
thanks for the idea.

GOOOOD MORNING!

Zoe ~ Very good choices for your 300 calories! I know this may be hard but what do the black bean burgers taste like? I am just always cautious when I am trying new things but those sound good. I have a very sensitive, sluggish system myself so I know how you feel. I see you added hot sauce to your sandwich, I love hot sauce but not to hot because it doesn’t agree with me.

Apricots, I will have to try them. They are really low in calories but I have noticed a lot of fruit is low and high in fiber so its filling.

Charlene ~ You don’t have to mention your calories and statistics for the day if you don’t want to. Everything here is optional and up to the individual.

Zenor ~ I like putting laughing cow cheese or peanut butter on celery. It also adds a lot of flavor to salads and soups. I have never heard of the crop shares before, interesting. I will have to see if they have them in my area.

Natalia ~ WTG on the loss and controlling your stress eating.

Luc’s Mom ~ I hear you on the kids come first, mine still do and they are 20, 16 and of course DGS 17 months. Oh and the biggest kid, DH who is 38, HAHAHAHA! I have actually started to do more for myself in recent months. I think it is shocking everyone including DH. He giggled the other day and said I see you have a spending problem. I said yes I do but it was on sale. He said everything you buy is on sale. I said I know but there is a lot of sales. We both laughed. We actually have money to spend for the first time in our lives so its not that I am charging but I should be saving. I need to break down and take ODD to get some maternity cloths because her pants were to small before she got pg and now she can’t do them up at all and she is only 1 month along.

Menu for today:

Breakfast: ½ c. fresh strawberries, ¼ c. Fiber One and 1 Tbsp. Cool Whip and a Chik Patty with Hot Sauce.

Snack: 3 Laughing Cow and 2 Light Wasa, ½ c. Strawberries

Lunch: Healthy Choice Chicken Marinara, Tomatoes with ¼ FF Cheese and 1 Tbsp. Newmans Tomato/Basil Dressing

Snack: 1 bag 100 cal. kettle corn, 1 Cheese Stick

Dinner: 3 oz lean steak, ¼ c. couscous, cauliflower, 2 sugar free Jell-o cups w/2 Tbsp. Cool Whip

Snack: 1 bag 100 cal. popcorn

Calories: Right around 1382

I did great yesterday until DD wanted Chinese. Now I did fine on the calories but within 5 minutes of starting the meal my feet blew up like balloons. Calories for the day: 1520

I discovered I can no longer wing it when it comes to my menus and the day needs to be planned in advance. I also need to stop letting DD talk me into changing that menu. She likes to eat out a lot and we all know what that can do. I think if she wants to eat out it will have to be a grab and go and that way I can go home and eat and stick to my plan. Or I can bring my meal along and eat at the park or something. What I had planned for last night sounded so much better than what I ate.

Well I better get going and will check back later.

Good Morning ladies!! Happy Friday!!!

Zenor- Celery huh? Well I usually use it in soups, stirfrys, and with peanut butter, hummus, or cottage cheese for snacks.

re: celery, if I knew to put it in cold water to revamp it, I could of saved money and time! Darn it! Oh well now I know! Thanks Steelslady for the tips!

Natalia- Congrats on the loss!!! And don't worry about the crush, it will pass, I still have dreams of my ex! And it's been many moons since we've gone out!

LittleRed- Your menu is making me hungry! LOL! I think it's the crab cakes and baked potato!

GrammyL- Chinese food was the thing that did me in, I went home with an upset stomach, and feeling very bloated! I just can't deal with all that grease. I love planning ahead, that way if tweaking is needed, I can always go back and adjust things. LOL

Menu for today:

Breakfast: 1c. Kashi GO Lean Crunch, banana, and 1c. skim milk
Snack: 1c. of cherries, and string cheese
Lunch: Grilled pineapple chicken salad, and lentil soup
Snack: 2 apricots, and protien shake
Dinner: Broiled salmon, with cauliflower and broccoli, and half a baked potato
Snack: Mango cubes

Wow, today is June 1st, how fast this year is going by! Congratulations to everyone who lost for the month of May! Here's to another great month!

ah yes, a new month!

my May stats...
average daily cals 1600
fiber 48g
weight loss: about 8 pounds.

and it looks like I started exercising three weeks ago: 4 days, 3 days, then two days. woops! I really slacked off quickly.
----------------

Grammy the black bean chipotle garden burgers are kinda dry. I can't really explain the flavor, but they are in the frozen section at the grocery store in packs of four. They just add some bulk for me, and I add in my veggies and rooster hot sauce (forget the name, I just call it rooster sauce cuz it has a rooster on it).
