Hey everyone I haven't posted in awhile. Well food was going good until Saturday. Well I had a baby shower and it kinda went downhill from there not bad but more than ususal(sp?). And Sunday well was good until supper, I had made spaghetti and garlic bread and I just couldn't resist. So I had at least 2000 cal on Sunday and well today my scale was back up to 150!! Ugh, it just drives me nuts. 15 lbs is all I want to go. And my body won't let me. I guess it's just a plateau, but I hate them!!! Course who doesn't...Well tomorrow is another day. Today was a good day and I got some exercise practicing softball with my daughter so that's a plus. Well I will chat with you all tomorrow.

Zenor- I'm so jealous!!! Size 12, I haven't seen that in a long long time! LOL I would love to be at that number. Hmm...I got ways to go, but I know I will make it. I gotta! LOL But great job!! I'm so proud of you!

CoolMom-
I'm in a 16 as well, but it's slowly getting a little loose. Never did I imagine I would be in a 16. (sigh)

Petra- GOod Luck, on getting past the plateau!!! Spaghetti is also my weakness! I know what you're going through!

Luc's mom - Hey, we posted at the same time earlier. I don't think I'd welcomed you yet! Wecome! I went back a page or so and noticed that you said you had a 6# loss - great job! How cool is it to be sharing something like this with your son. I'm sure that he is really motivated by you, too.

zenor - Sorry to hear about your bad day (calorie-wise) but that's great that you went down a size! Watermelons are a particularly good diuretic, if you're bloated. I am amazed that I can tell when I'm bloated (too much bad food, too little HOH) because I had been that way for months (pregnancy, and then poor eating after the births) and didn't even know it.

Natalia - It's so weird how sizes go. I'm in a 14-16 and larges now and I'm around 185.

coolmom - You'll be in those 14 soon! You can do it!

Mary - I'd been wondering where you were! Sorry your weekend wasn't as on plan as you'd have liked it. I'm sure your scale will go back down soon. When do you weigh next?

Tinky - You can do it, girl! I started out where you are (well, 200) and I was 197 on April 13th. I'm now about 185 and it is a HUGE difference, especially since some of my weight loss has been counterbalanced by gaining muscle. You're not far behind me! I feel like I do have an advantage over most though since I'm making about 1000 calories worth of breastmilk each day, so I'm doing that much "exercise" every day only by lifting my shirt.

Forgot to add this:

Total: 1940
Fat: 77 690 38%
Sat: 32 284 16%
Poly: 7 65 4%
Mono: 25 226 12%
Carbs: 195 655 36%
Fiber: 32 0 0%
Protein: 120 480 26%

BREAKFAST - egg, lean ham, whole wheat toast
SNACK - Country Goulash
LUNCH - salad with chicken and chickpeas
SNACK - nothing
DINNER - small hamburger with lettuce, tomato and cheese, broccoli
SNACK - pita chips and muenster cheese (Went to a homebirth meeting and ate a little more than I'd have liked.)

EXERCISE - went hard for 30 minutes at Curves

And I got my new baby carrier in the mail today!!!!! It's a mei-tai (Asian style) Kozy (brand) and it's a very cool bright green paisley with black straps. I cannot wait to wear it out tomorrow! It was shipped in a bag that reverses into a tote, which has become my new gym bag.

Well, well. LOL
Today was good and not as good..the good is, I absolutely kicked butt working out! Did 40min of turbo jam this afternoon, and then 84 minutes on the recumbent bike tonight, 20.4kms ..

The not as good, well I have a function to go to next week..And I have to think of something to feed a bunch of people, and whenever this happens I get all stressed out thinking of the "perfect" thing to bring, (I love to cook so that kinda makes it worse as there's a million possibilities) Anyways decided to try a new recipe ..and did so to see how it would be for the function... and I ate 2 squares of it!! About 1/15th of the pan..yikes. AND It wasn't so healthy:
Mars bars, butter, milk chocolate, and rice krispies But I plugged everything into fitday and it looks like it would be 3311 cals, and 1/15th is 220 cals . Not so bad when fitday is giving me 817 cals burned for the bike ! lol
And for the record, it was super yummy..

Carrie: Sizing IS funny on different folks (I find from everyone I talk to I seem to run big for my weight) but I am only 5'2" and I am an apple (big tummy- normal hips and thighs)

Luc's Mom- Actually , I don't deserve the praise. I scraped the frosting off the cake and wolfed down the FROSTING!! Not the cake! Who in the world does that??? lol And it was a nice swiss choclate cake too with whipped crusting buttercream icing..

Alas, here is todays menu:

breakie: 1pc toast, becel lite
snack: 1 apple
lunch: pita pizza
snack: 1 orange dipped in splenda granular
2 squares chocolate krispie squares
supper: meatballs (no filler), 2c winter mix veggies

Was a very LONG day yesterday here at work. I think everyone decided to get caught up on things they didn't do while final exams were going on. Problem is, their catching up includes me. YUCKO! Today I am hoping for a slower day but we shall see.

I stopped counting calories over the weekend and restarted Monday because I have no idea on some of the things I ate nor do I want to have and idea. We had our bowling banquet on Saturday and it was a buffet. I had it all planned out on how I was going to be good and then I snapped and I also know why I snapped but I couldn't stop myself. DH was in a mood and he didn't feel like even going to the banquet but we had to because I had the trophies. So, he proceeded to slam everyone he could and when he does that it triggers my eating, especially for sweets and there were lots of those. So I stopped counting. Sunday I didn't have time to log in and nothing was regular or normal about eating because we were on the go. Gained a little and I almost have all the bloat back off so I am not changing my ticker because chances are it will all be off tomorrow at this rate.

I am just upset with myself and have get these weekends straightened out and figure out why my DH triggers my eating. Even when he is in a good mood he triggers my eating. All week long is the straight and narrow then he comes home and instantly naughty. I did manage to stay good last night, was home because he had to swap out crew members. I had a Smart One, Salsbury steak/Mac & Cheese and they had brauts and Mac & Cheese.

Calories Monday: 1296

Going back to read posts.

Hello everyone!! Man....I had a wonderful workout last night, but then I looked over in the kitchen and saw my DF dry rubbing some pork ribs, and putting a rub on chuck roast! (alarms went off in my head) LOL! He's getting ready for a big weekend! I'm going to have to backdown! Or atleast hope I will. LOL! Since the weather has been nicer up here, my bro and him have it their minds that it's grill time. OH well! I have 2 questions, what kind of scales do you guys use to weigh yourself? I weighed myself at home this morning, and I got one number, I weighed myself at work and it gave me another number. Next I'm going to use a regular turn dial scale to see where I'm at. Though my co-workers are telling me that I've lost some around my face and waist. I guess that's a good thing. The next one is do you all include strength training with your cardio, or do you do strength one day and cardio the next?

I haven't plugged in my numbers yet, so I don't know where I am at. Well have a great Tuesday! I get to be at work with lake right at my doorstep. Talk about irony. I have to be at work, working, while I get to look out at the docks and see people boating and having fun!

Carrie- Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! I greatly need them and appreciate them! Living with two guys who eat like they do, that's enough temptation. LOL

Salsakym ~ I have thought about making my own hummus but I really like the brand that I found and worried I can’t recreate that taste myself.

Theresa ~ Thanks for the congrats. I just really want to get my weekends together so I can have bigger losses instead of having to lose the bloat each week for all those extra cals on the weekend. Congrats on the 29th anniversary, mine is 16th this year the end of July.

Zoe ~ I don’t even want to think about the amount of sodium we eat when we eat out. I also realize that just a few years ago that my families sodium intake was horrible because I used things like hamburger helper. That stuff is just loaded with sodium. I really read labels now.

Tinky ~ Just give them time. My dogs are not real big into each other. I mean the play on occasion but sleep in different areas. I love the freedom of choice also and I would say I eat healthier having choice than being told what to eat and when. I think most of us are that way. I have always been and animal fan since I was old enough to walk. Dogs and horses are my favs. I will have horses until I can either not afford them or to old to care for them.

Abby ~ Good luck with the smoking. The first few weeks are the hardest and then it gets easier and easier. I quit cold turkey with no help so I know from experience how hard it is. I feel so much healthier and smell better too. HAHAHAHAHA!

Carrie ~ Thanks for sharing the information on the healthy fats and trans fats. I found it very interesting. I did the weight calculations and mine came out to 2198 to maintain. I am active so I was able to use the 1.3. You are doing so well, don’t give up now. HUGS! Is all I can say about your bedtime horror. I wouldn’t have any hair left. My youngest, Olivia (16 yrs old), had colic and it was horrible but I can’t image taking on two babies and a toddler. No way, No how. Two was enough for me but then again you probably didn’t plan on twins.

Natalia ~ I have to do my exercise first thing in the morning or I won’t do it either. I get up earlier to get my meals around for the day and exercise. I have been doing if a couple of years now (haven’t been calorie counting that long, just since February) and I can’t image doing it any other way. You cracked me about the yoga pants, I always wear elastic waist and stretch pants of all sorts because of my belly.

Luc’s Mom ~ That is fantastic that you and your son are doing this together. I wish I could get my DD to do it me but I can’t convince her. Maybe this summer.

Zoe ~ Your doing well. Yes, cheese does have a lot of sodium in it and that is probably where the majority of yours is coming from with having pizza but I am not willing to give up my cheese. I usually eat Fat Free now or 2%.

Zenor ~ Happy Dance for the 12’s.

Petra ~ I love spaghetti and garlic bread. Have you tried to make healthy versions? I boy whole wheat pasta, found an organic spaghetti sauce that I like (low sodium and all natural), and I use lean turkey burger. I usually don’t make the garlic bread but you could use light bread and just brush it with olive oil lightly and garlic powder. HMMMM! I am getting hungry an may make it for dinner.

Tinky ~ I have one scale and I am sticking with it even if it makes me mad. HAHAHAH! I have two, digital and dial sitting side by side. I weigh first thing in the morning and my brain and eyes are not always working the greatest yet so I decided the dial is to hard to see but it usually likes me better than the digital. I weighed myself the other day when I took my DD to the doctor and came home and weighed with the same cloths and everything and discovered that the digital that I have is right. So like it or not my digital is accurate. Plus it has big numbers that are easy to see. HAHAHA!

Well I better get going for now and get some work done but I will pop in and out today.

Cals for yesterday~1500
Fiber~52
Sodium~1573.6

I have no idea how I'm getting my sodium so low. I guess it's the lack of processed food? I've been trying to put it in for everything I eat, but I don't add salt to pasta cooking water or rice when I make it. I'm glad and I hope I can keep it low since high blood pressure runs in the family on all sides.

Sizes are funny aren't they? The last time I was a 12 I weighed 5lbs less. I guess sizes have changed in the last 10 years. I've also noticed that I'm carrying more weight in my stomach than I used to (stress weight? age?)

We should be getting our computer tomorrow (according to fedex) so I can post more after we set it up. I can't get on too much at work. Everyone have a great day!

That's funny that you mentioned that. When I was pregnant with the twins, I was sick when I was at home, but when I went to my parents' or someone else's house, I felt fine. But as soon as I got home, I started getting sick again. (Until about 4 months, then it went away totally.) It seemed like it was my husband.

Maybe it's that you feel so comfortable around him, you feel like you can show your "naughty" side. I know I was this way with my husband - I felt okay eating a huge bag of candy with him, something that I would be embarassed to do around anyone else. We had a long talk about it, and he agreed that he'd been "enabling" some of the time (bringing home food-related treats) but he also is taking my side now. He wouldn't let me eat a huge bowl of ice cream - he'd stop me and ask me why I was doing that.

Hey! Girls
Just another beautiful day here in Ohio.

I could NOT ask for nicer weather.
My prayers to all of you that live out west, with the nasty weather.

I hope everyone’s week end was nice.

Abby,
How are you doing with the smoking? Hugs to you for trying to quit smoking and loosing weight. You deserve an award. Although it’s been 5 yrs for me… I still remember how hard it was.

Carrie,
Yes the yard work is fulfilling to me.
And it’s a good workout.
Some of my plants are finally starting come up.
My Rhododendrons are just starting to bloom. So Lovely. I hope we don’t loose them. We had a huge tree cut down last month… And it was blocking the afternoon sun from frying them. So time will tell. I think they are going to get a big hair cut and new home this fall. Maybe right in my Front yard. It’s ashamed to have to do that. They have gotten big. The one stands about 7 ft.

I used your formula for calories. It give me over 1800 calories.
I usually try for 14-1500 calories. But lately have been soooo hungry.
Maybe I need more sometimes.

Today, I will be about 1600. I try to listen to my body. As long as I don’t go under 1400.

I am still drinking large amounts of water too. Most days I get at least 14 glasses. 112 oz.

Yeah, I spend lots of time running to. But it’s working, I am loosing weight.

No Curves today. But I did walk 25 min. Mow the lawn 1hr. and did 100 crunches.

I will be at Curves early in the morning. Then walk till I drop. And Do 100 Crunches.

Pizza nights. Yummy. I do eat pizza when we order delivery. I allow myself 1 pc of a large pepperoni,
Soak all the standing grease with paper towels. And I have to eat a large salad with it. No soda.
For me, I need the goodies sometimes. Or I won’t keep working so hard.
Ok, you had my curiosity. About the Diva cup. So I looked it up. WOW!
I wish they had these 20 yrs. ago. I did tell Daughter about them.

Zenor.
Congratulations!

See how go it feels to lose weight. Being as tall as you are you can wear smaller clothes than I can, at < 5 ft. I am still in 14’s.
Soon!!

I am doing the Ab Lounge daily. Started with 150 yesterday.
I hope I will have that again today!
Boy is my tummy feeling it too.

Mary,
Hang in there
. That plateau will leave soon! I have not hit a real one yet.
Hope I don’t till I hit 150 lbs.
I can deal with that!

Spaghetti and Garlic Bread… MMM yummy.
My downfall… Especially the garlic bread. Coles has a small pack of Garlic bread. Only 6 pcs.
I eat one piece, and leave the rest for everyone else. So there is no temptation to eat more.
Add my large salad and I feel satisfied.

Lara
Hang in there. Schools almost out. That should help you for a few months. By the time Sept. comes you will be close to your goal.

I try to do my exercise early too. for the same reason. I don’t like to do it later. It’s a fight to workout everyday. So Far…I have been winning that fight.

Luk’s mom
I started this Goal to be healthy, with my 21 yr. old dd. It helps her and myself to have someone else to do things with.

I have to go feed my face
talk soon

Thinking of pizza night makes me want to share our menu for this evening. We are going old school and reverting to our childhood... we are having english muffin pizzas. I was going to make homemade dough for pizza tonight, but I'm tired and pizza still sounded good so... hey, at least they are portion controlled.

Okay, I had to go look up the Diva cup too. Those look cool (and frugal)! I may have to go find one or order one.

I'm doing well on not smoking (4 days today). Thanks for asking Lara and Theresa. It is hard, really hard . I've tried many times before, but I am very determined this time will be my last time. Today was a tough day, though .

Anyway, I have not been counting or logging into Fitday for 4 days because I figured I would be really eating quite often (snacks and such, due to not smoking) and it would be a pain . But after the last 4 days, I think I will start counting and logging back in Fitday tomorrow. I really haven't done as bad as I thought, and haven't gained any weight but I have been doing this counting thing for 6 months now and I feel lost (and guilty) not keeping track. Also, I know me and it doesn't take long if I don't keep track of what I eat, to put the weight back on. I think I'm addicted to my weight loss journey . I guess there's worse things to be addicted too

I hope everyone had a great day, and I'll check back in tomorrow.

Hi everyone! Finally the warm weather is here, but I feel *blah*...no energy. I'm thinking I need to up my calories a bit (currently between 1,200-1,300 a day), maybe throw in a few more lean protein cals. I read your posts about working out and I just feel drained, like I was right there with you the whole time! LOL
Tomorrow will be a big test for me. I'm throwing a retirement party for my Uncle on Saturday and tomorrow I'll be making homemade lasagna. Only about SIX trays of the stuff!!! *cringe* Maybe I should have a bunch of fresh veges and fruit cut up so I munch on that while I'm cooking large vats of sauce!!

Zenor- Congrats on the size 12! That always feels awesome to go down a size! BTW, I like you Lucky Kitty avatar, my DD has a couple of them.

Natalia- Okay, you still deserve kudos... "And it was a nice swiss choclate cake too with whipped crusting buttercream icing.." Who could resist the cake as well as the frosting?! LOL

Lara- My son is alot of motivation for me! He keeps me from cheating! It is nice to have someone else in the household to buddy up with. It seems the whole gang is really supporting us, although DH gave Luc 2 turkey and cheese sandwiches for lunch yesterday- I was at work. It's okay though, we talked about what would be better lunch choices for the next time I'm away. Is your daughter young or teenage? Luc is only 9 yo, but he's 5 ft tall! So, I think by making this into a 'game' he was more excited about the whole thing.
BTW- where do you live in MI, I'm from the 'thumb' area.

Abbyin- Congrats on going 4 days w/out smoking! Did you ever read Allen Carrs book on quiting? It's really good, only $13 at Walmart. You can do this!

Okay, I'm off to clean out the car before it gets dark. Have a great evening everyone!
