Hi, everyone! I've been such a slacker about reporting in.

Calories at 1578 for the day. More excitingly, I hit my exercise goal for January already! Woooo!

The weight is staying put, but I'm not complaining. Not going up is a victory too.

I am coming down with a bug or something. Calories for today at 723 with 22% coming from fat.

Gonna swallow two aspirin and see if I can't beat this before it starts.

Calories were around 1300 for the day and I exercised quite well tonight, so wound up with a nice deficit of 990 calories. Yay!

Hoping to get another pound off by next Sunday.

Good morning ladies.

Julie great going on meeting your January goal with still over a week left to the month - how cool!!!

Diva, I hope you're feeling better.

Thanks to all of you on your kind words about my 5 lb loss. It WAS a nice surprise, after creeping along for a few weeks. It's funny how these pop up on me from time to time without really doing anything different. No rhyme, no reason. Well, I have been exercising a bit more. Whatever, I'll take it. Really looking forward to being in the 100's, though at only 5 ft tall, I've got a lot of the 100's to get through. That's okay, I knew this was going to be a long road, just wish I would have done something about it earlier when the road would have been SHORTER.

Monday's calories - about about 1000, haven't had one that low in a while.
It's because I ate a 3 oz piece of salmon with broiled tomato and green beans for dinner. Very low cal, but very satisfying and yummy. I thought I'd treat myself to an after dinner snack since dinner was on the low side, but I didn't wind up wanting it.

Have a great, healty day everyone!!!!

Anybody know how to get rid of tons of Winter Squash?
We still have about 2 dozen Butternut and Buttercup in our breezeway. I made some low calorie Apple/Squash soup this week and froze some of it. Someone suggested making mock pumpkin pie with it but I don't want to waste my calories on lardy pie crust. I made homemade chicken soup yesterday and instead of putting in potatoes I used cubes squash. I would welcome any ideas!

Hi everyone. Yesterday was about 1379 on cals. I was up on water! 32 oz. (lately I've been drinking 8 oz so that's great for me) I will add 8 oz a day til I get back to my 64. That'll be better. I am feeling so much more energy lately. It's weird. I didn't wanna get off my tmill last nite. I could feel the blood pumping through my veins. Freaky. So I'm excited to get back to my old self. I also hit 10140 on steps yesterday!!!! LOL. I love Deal or No Deal so I can watch that and not even realize I'm walking! (Well, other shows too, L Word, and American Idol, and Dr. Phil, which some ppl hate but I like most of the shows.)

I was hungry going to bed though, so I have to watch that and eat for the last time closer to bedtime like I used to.

Hope you all have a great day. Will try to post again tonight and get back to nightly check ins. My ISP was out all evening and nite.

Bye for now, I wish you all Good Determination!

Hey everyone I had 810 calories yesterday. Kinda low but will probably make up for it today. I worked out longer than I ususually do. So hopefully I can keep it up and in the next couple of days see some more lbs come off.

Diva- I hope that the bug goes away. I know that my kids came down with something and it's taking forever to get it to go away.

Soon2befit- Great job on upping your water. That is something I have to work on. When I would drink pop it would be nothing to go thru 2 20oz bottles, but now that I am only drinking water it takes me all day just to get 1 bottle down. That is something that I am working on now.

Bobbi- Sorry I have no idea what to do with that stuff. I am not much of a cook or anything like that. What about donating it to a shelter or food bank? I don't know if they would take it but it would be worth a try.

1700 cals yesterday ... I was under until I started snacking in the evening, ugh. And I've got this puffy thing happening almost every morning. Must get back to cleaner foods.

Hi all -
DIVA - Hope you feel better soon!!!! No fun to have a bug!!!

Soontobefit - Great job on the exercising and water.... keep it up and you will be back to 64 soon!!!

Bobbi - looked on Allrecipes.com and they had some ideas for the squash, some looked a little fattening but I am sure you could whittle away some calories here and there....

Today - Calories - 1260 22% fat - 101 oz of water - so far I am up to 5 bottles for the day (16.9 oz) and I will have one more tonight. Did the 4 mile WATP dvd and will some crunches and stuff on the ball a little later....

Have a good night all.... Wish me luck on my weigh in tomorrow!!! That scale better have moved!!!

I hope the weigh in goes great, Stephanie!! I'm rooting for you!!!

I'm doing well today; Had 550 so far in cals, and 32 in water so far! Been unpacking still. Drives me crazy because I don't have our shelves up on the walls yet so there are many things that just can't be put anywhere! Uggh!!!

Anyhoo, back to work. Haven't been on the tmill yet. I'm going to do that when they all go to basketball practice! Less distractions!

I want Mexican food! I don't know where that sudden craving is coming from, but I really need to resist it!

I know I'm just plain hungry, but dinner isn't done yet. Cook, daggone it!

I hate that too Julie. I think one of the worse parts about losing is you have to wait more, it seems, and be so prepared. Always thinking ahead. Can't just grab something. But hey, if that's what works, I'm up for the challenge. LOL. Gotta get this extra weight off; it's dragging me down. Although, I'm happy to say I had tons more energy when I woke up this morning than I've had in a long time. So maybe that proves that walking over 10,000 steps a day (which comes to about 60 mins walking plus what I do all day anyway), is the way to more energy. It's a good thing either way.

Bobbi - I saw these on hungry-girl.com a while back - not sure if either of these interest you but figured I'd share:

"Cheat Potato Pie"
Ingredients:
1 large butternut squash (large enough to yield 2 cups mashed flesh)
1/2 cup Egg Beaters; Original
1/3 cup light vanilla soymilk
1/3 cup sugar-free maple syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup SPLENDA; Granular
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2/3 cup miniature marshmallows

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel squash and cut into large chunks (removing seeds). Fill a large, microwave-safe dish with a half an inch of water. Place squash into dish and cover with plastic wrap. Microwave for approximately 8 minutes (and drain). Squash should be tender enough to mash, but not fully cooked. With a potato masher, food processor or fork, mash squash. Measure out 2 generous cups, lightly packed, and place in an oven-safe baking dish. Add all ingredients except for marshmallows. Mix ingredients thoroughly, but do not over-stir; squash should still be pulpy. Allow to cook for 45 – 50 minutes. Remove from oven, and disperse marshmallows over top of pie. Return to oven for 5 minutes, until marshmallows begin to brown. Allow to cool. Serves 4.

Serving Size: 1/4 recipe; approx. 2/3 cup

Fiber: 1.5g
Sugars: 7.5g
Protein: 5g

and this one:

"Wise Fries"
Ingredients:
1/2 butternut squash
kosher salt

Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Peel and de-seed your butternut squash. If you're unfamiliar with handling them, you may have a little trouble at first. They're fairly easy to peel, but you'll need a sharp knife to cut them. Once your orange friend is peeled and seed-free, slice it in half. Then cut it up into french fry shapes. We like to use a crinkle cutter to make authentic looking crinkle cut fries, but they'll work any way you slice 'em. Place on a cookie sheet sprayed with non-stick spray. Cover lightly with kosher salt (regular salt works, too, but we prefer kosher). Place tray in your pre-heated oven and bake for 40 minutes or so, flipping halfway through baking process. Fries are done when they are starting to brown on the edges and get crispy. Serve with ketchup, or however else you enjoy fries or sweet potato fries!
