bethbeth - can you throw the food out, or freeze it so you don't eat it?

Good Almost Afternoon Everyone!!! Just checking in for the day. I did pretty well yesterday with my eating. DBF wanted to go to the hot dog stand for chili dogs so I decided I would order a grilled chicken sandwich. When I got it the bun was soggy. It made the decision easy to not eat it so I just picked up the chicken with my fingers and ate it. Man was I ever a mess when I got done!!! (I am a slob at heart - or at least that's what I'm told!!) Normally I love my bread. So I felt pretty good about that. But then I did eat a few fried mushrooms and a few french fries. Man, what is wrong with my head. I make a good decision about cutting out the bread and then dig into the fried stuff!!! Oh well, yesterday is over and today is a new day. So today I am doing great as far as my choices. I brought my yogurt and fruit for breakfast, salad fixin's for my lunch and will throw something on the grill for dinner. Maybe I can get through today and tomorrow will be easier.

Hey Gang,

Happy Birthday Sally!

I did horrible on Sunday so am trying to make up for it this week. I think my "honeymoon phase" with weight loss is definitely over. I feel reall burned out--not just w/diet & exercise, but with life in general. I like my job, but I want to be doing something I LOVE! So, I'm doing some serious soul searching right now.

I'm back on plan and worked out yesterday for over 1 1/2 hrs. I'll do another workout tonight.

Hope y'all have a great rest of the day!

Happy Birthday Sally! Hope your having a great day!

JenJen - I soooo hear you on the "honeymoon"'s over feeling. I started to feel like that for the past week. Mix that with a week early TOM. But I am back to planning each meal. I fell into 2 evenings of mindless eating and know that was so lame. But I was bored and ended up infront of the TV.

Laurie - Glad that you survived the auditor.

Mugsy - Are you serious about the snowÉ

Happy Birthday Sally!
You're looking FABULOUSLY SASSY! Enjoy every minute of your day!

Yeah chicks, Fiber one...that's my secret. And Kashi Go Lean the plain kind. I'm really trying to eat the ones with no extra sugar tho yesterday I threw in a bit of GoLean crunch which does have extra sugar.

1 cup Fiber One, 1/2 cup Go Lean, 1/2 cup crunch and then a day full of veggies...loads!

I generally get more than 25gm of fiber per day, every day, but I WANT to see some movement ON THE SCALE so I'm bumping it this week! Alternating every day with oatmeal on the other days. Keeping my water at 96 oz this week too...so yeah, I'm the all around bathroom Queen!

A chick's gotta do what a chick's gotta do!

I saw on the weather this morning that there was snow in the upper west and thought how bizzare that was!! It's June for pete's sake!!! At least it's not raining here today. Sunny and 80 and I'm stuck at my desk looking out my window drooling all over the papers on it wishing I were outside!! It's not a pretty site I'm tellin ya!!

As for the honeymoon feeling - I'm with you all that have lost it. I keep taking BLT's and I know I shouldn't. Self sabotage. I need to get a grip on things here. I know in my heart of hearts that we can all do this!!! Now let's get serious ladies.

It's true. We had snow this morning. It didn't stick, but it's still rainy and cold here.

I'm selling crap on craigslist trying to have enough $$ put aside to run the boat this summer and it's snowing.

Will winter never end?? (sniff, sniff)

I have a question for those of you that belong to Curves. Do you find it challenging enough or do you feel like it gets repititous after a while? I've been debating whether I want to join and just wanted a little feedback from those that go there. There is one right around the corner from my office and I thought I could just pop in there on my way home maybe 3 times a week or so.

And I wanted to say congrats to those of us that are really rockin' this challenge. There are several that have lost in the double digits already and I am so impressed by you all. I'm going to take some motivation from you all to get myself off my behind and do something good.

It's almost time for me to blow this joint so I'll check back in the morning. Have a good evening everyone.

Troo--I am with you on the wine...yep, its OP technically but it is not helping...but I love it...ack Do I feel deprived without it? yes...but I am SICK of these recycled pounds over and over and over. It is too easy for me to go over my calories for the day when I have it. I've been keeping it to the weekends too, but I am feeling MORE motivated this week to just axe it for awhile.

I was at 204 last Wed, 206.5 on Monday (eek!) and 205 today....I am determined to stick to my plan, even if its boring, I will eat well, get fiber, drink my water, take my vitamins, get exercise and good sleep and if I am not back to 203 by the end of this week Yes, I am exercising.... but my body is stubborn and will not give up the lbs unless I am *really* following a healthful eating plan. I have to do it while I'm strong because PMS/TOM really seems to knock my willpower....so, I'm aiming for the next 10 days to be pretty strict which really just means OP.

Beth moving is so stressful!

Exercise has many health and emotional benefits, but it doesn't make a huge difference when it comes to weight loss. You can restrict your food intake by 500 to 1,000 calories starting tomorrow, but you have to work out for a long time, or at a very high intensity, to burn as many calories.
From: Forget fad diets. Get the facts on weight loss

This is my experience with my body summed up perfectly...I HAVE to follow my diet

However this article goes on to say, regarding keeping the weight you've lost from coming back....

What's the second stage?
Maintenance. And that's when exercise becomes much more important. By burning a few hundred extra calories a day, you can eat a little bit more, which makes the diet tolerable and easier to maintain. Exercise helps you find a healthy balance between the calories you consume and the calories you burn. Successful dieters typically exercise a lot — 60 to 90 minutes a day. That's not just a short walk. They really prioritize daily, vigorous physical activity.

I have read and caught up, but there's a storm moving in so I don't have time for personals. I think I'm going to wait and rejoin our exercise challenge next month. I have been exercising, but not having time to post anything, let alone redo my entry from where we lost our records...just easier at this point to wait until next month and rejoin instead of trying to remember everything.

Julz--hope you had an awesome trip, and sorry you had to come back to a mess

I think my honeymoon period was over a couple weeks ago, but I'm getting it back. I went a week or so with not exercising much, then today started again full force and realized I feel SO DAMN good already. I am tired and stressed, but walking with a happy bounce in my step because I feel that "gonna be sore in the morning" sensation all over---love it While the kids swim in the pool I normall sit on my butt or lounge in the water with them, but I have been walking laps around the yard (yes, in almost 100 degree weather) and swimming laps, hauling them around the pool on my back, etc.

Okay, storm has hit so have to get the computer shut off...but MUGSY OMG, SNOW! WOW!

Manick & Troo - I'm a wino. As much as I find fault with certain aspects of WW I will admit that I LOVE the Flex Points. Nearly all of my flex points go to wine. If I had to live with exactly "x" amount of calories each and every day I would feel stifled. I like being able to save some extra calories for wine or a real beef steak.

On the flip side. There's usually one or two days a week where I eat ONLY my daily points and don't even use my Activity Points.

Maybe banking some of your calories for a special occasion would make having a glass of wine easier??

For me, there's just two things I will NOT give up. My wine and my coffee creamer!!!

Manick: I really admire your determination. You seem to know what you have to do and are doing it, so I am sure you will see the results you want the next weigh in.

mugsy: yeah, I try to balance out my calories so I have a little extra free ones on the weekends. Life is too short not to drink wine! I won't give up my wine, cheese and pasta. Now that's not to say I eat macaroni and cheese or big bowls of fettucini alfredo. No. I do occasionally make macaroni and cheese but it's filled with spinach and nonfat cottage cheese along with the other cheeses, so it's not bad. With both of our plans, we can pretty much have anything as long as we budget in our points/calories for it.
