tee--That is insane what they are putting you through. I have never heard of having to be referred to the ER, we just give the ER our insurance card and pay our copay. It's sad that $$ comes before human life in our country.

Well guess what? I have been adding to the number of times I climb my stairs every day, right? Right. And the most I've done at one time was 8 in a row, up then back down. Well, todayyyyyy I did all 17 in a row!!!

I do more than the day before every day, either one more or several more. Started at 5 times in one day a week ago. Worked my way up to 17 and I will go more today so no telling what I'll have to do 2mrw to add to it! LOL.

It's fun having a silly goal. I'm also still doing the 3 mile WATP dvd. Not losing right now but trying hard not to care til we start the challenge. My goal is 100 times in one day (they can be 5 sets of 20 or whatever from when I wake up til bed), then Imma work up to doing all 100 in a row. Thennnnn I'll make a new goal.

Hope you all are doing well!!! I'm reading the posts, but barely keeping that up! This is wild. I love the challenges and all the people!!! Thanks to Chelle and all the leaders we get to do it again!

Hugs! Selina

PS Wrote this out, hadda leave the puter, and by the time I came back to finish and send I'd done the stairs 3 more times, lol! So I'm up to 20!!! That means I hafta do at least 21 2mrw but I'm shooting for 25 if I find time.

Throwing a question out to everyone: Do you have a set goal weight in mind, not for the challenge but overall? For those that do, how did you pick the number?

I started out with a goal weight of 150, then realized with BMI chart I would still be overweight, so went to 145 which would put me just in the normal weight range. BUT I feel like that is just too low, it's been so long since I weighed anything near that and now I'm 31 years old with two children, and just felt it impossible to get there. So, now I have set my ticker for my current personal goal (195 by July 4th) and have decided I will just know when I am healthy, happy, and at a good weight for me.

So how do you pick that ending number? How can we know what weight we are going to finally rest happily at?

Oh Anna, I'm sorry hun. Saw your post after mine went. That really sucks. I think healthcare in most countries aren't good enough. It's a sad thing too. And there HAS to be a better way, HASSSS to be. Hope everything gets easier for y'all.

Big hugsssssssssss, Selina

Purple, I knew I had to lose 100. Then I will go slowly after that and just see. At 201 I'm about what I was in Jr High, sad, yes I know. So since I've been an adult I have only gotten as low as 179 and was only there for a few days and started slowly letting myself gain again. ::: sigh ::: I do look purty good at 179 tho so hoping 177 is a good weight for me. Going to go on down to 169but not sure after that.

You could just pick a number then see how you feel! Then you'll have a better idea where you will need to be. It'll be nice to get there too!!!

Purple, I picked my number from when I did WW. The healthy weight. However, I have always wanted to be about below 60kg (which is around 135lbs) That's why I went specifically with that number. =) I don't even remember when I ever weighed that "little" but hopefully I will be closer this time next year.

Onthetee, I'm sorry to hear that. I can totally understand your frustration, though. My daughter had problem with her left eye movement and her pcm told me that she needs to see a specialist for her eyes. Well, when I got the referral, it was very close but I was surprised because I wasn't sure they actually took babies. (My baby wasn't even 2 at the time) We still went and all they said was that "Oh, it's very common with infants, especially asian ones." (My DD is half Korean..as I'm a Korean. heh) Well, the next appointment she had with her PCM, her PCM goes why did you go to that one? They are not ped. spc. I'm like I don't know..the insurance company referred.. I called the insurance and they said they don't have any in-network ped. spc in the area. (within 200 miles).. but they said they will send the referral for the spec the PCM referred. I said GREAT! Well, I receive the referral and it's for the SAME place we already went to, just with the correct specialist's name under it!! He's actually with the Children's. So I called the insurace back, and this time they say nothing they can do. I called the PCM and they actually sorted things out with the insurance company. At the end of the month, my DD is having a surgery for her eye muscle at the CHILDREN'S, because we waited out to see if it was going to get better but it didn't. Well, if her PCM didn't go through it and I just believed what that first place said about asian babies and stuff, her eye movement would've stayed the same. . .

Thankfully, her PCM's office was more than willing to help, which was great. Hope you will have some good news, though.

Whew! This thread is flying!
I CAN'T wait for this challenge to start! I have a hard time deciding whether to stay really on plan these last two weeks before it starts, or go a little off plan. My main goal is to lose 2 more pounds before I enter my starting weight, so that I can be at an even 180. Then my goal would be to lose another 20 during the 15 week challenge! I can't wait!

I think everyone should go out and buy some new underwear this weekend! Doesn't it make you feel good to wear new underwear? You all have my permission to get something new!

Elipitcal KILLS my knees, my knees are great walking and even jogging a little bit, but the eliptical makes me feel like I am 93 and I cannot move much after being on one. They burn, and ache and take days to recover, I just don't try it anymore. Maybe someday.

On a positive note, I'm looking forward to joining you all for the next BL challenge! I am working on getting down to a 205lb starting weight, that seems do-able

I went out to buy new scrubs yesterday and I was able to fit into size medium!! The shirt could be a little roomier, but I'll lose into it. So, now I have my new scrubs and guess what? I forgot to get new underwear! Oh well, giant granny panties for the next few days at work.

Oh...and on the subject of ellipticals, I hate them! I only did 7 minutes on it the other day and as soon as I got off my ankle started hurting again. Ugh....after 6 months of healing this thing, I am back to wearing a brace and doing my ankle therapy. The treadmill was fine for me all this time and I will be sticking with that for now on. The recumbent bike also irritates my ankle for some reason. Oh well, people must love those ellipticals because I see tons of people jogging away on them at the gym.

I bought hula hoops yesterday for my daughter and I, omg....I am such a spazz....I can hardly do it. I guess I need practice.

I think mine came from about the midpoint of a couple of height/weight charts. It's really just a number since I've never been the correct weight for my height and/or age. Once I'm closer (or there) I'll decide if it's a realistic one or not. I may also look at body fat percentage once I'm closer to see if it's where I want to stay.

Anna, I am so sorry to hear she had to go through it again. I know you are strong and will care for her, but care for yourself as well, she needs a strong mama. Did she go back to ER, and what do you do now?

Anne--body fat is a good idea. We bought a scale that does that and saves it all for each person, but I have never even figured out how to use the fancy stuff. Might have to try today.

missing-- congrats on a Medium! Don't feel bad, i can't hula hoop either.

Beth--I vote for staying on plan between challenges, because this is a lifelong thing, not just for the challenge...keep going, challenge or not I need new undies but am waiting to hit my 20% goal (206).
