Good morning, Losers!

I slept like a log last night! Although I went to bed early, I could have used a couple more hours of sleep, but what I did get was very good. I do have some pain on one side of my mouth. I wonder if I have a sinus infection? Also, I catch myself grinding my teeth sometimes. Hmmmmm....stress?

No,Anna....my 12 year old definitely is not ready for someone like Inga! Actually, I think I'm doing a pretty decent job of raising an independent strong woman. Believe me, it isn't always easy. I'm raising two daughters in the land of Georgia peaches. But, I think I'm doing a great job of teaching them to enjoy and celebrate their feminity while knowing that they are equal to any challenge that comes their way.

HRM......you have to actually workout to need one, right? For now, I just need to find the determination to start working out...consistently. Any exercise would be better than nothing for me.

I'm battling a serious case of the dieting blah's. I'm just fighting the desire to just relax, eat what I want....and not worry about it. There's nothing anyone can say or do to get my back on track. I just need to dig deep and find my motivation again.

Good morning all,

The pool is still filling with water. I was going to leave it running all night, but the pool guy said he thought that might be too much. So of course I was up and 5am and turned the water back on. It's still pretty low. I think I was right - should have left it running. I just wasn't here when he closed it so I wasn't sure how much water he left in it. I've found over the years that different people leave it at different levels. Oh well, it will keep filling until he gets here.

Nori - I use the treadmill about 5 days a week, but you're right. I pushed my speed up just a little yesterday at the beginning to get my heart rate up. It makes me a little more aware of the effort I'm putting in, and that's a good thing. I'm like you, I bought a higher end one, although I now realise I'll probably use less of the features that it has.

Selina - I'm in Canada, so our prices are usually different. I'd suggest you go with something that is more basic, don't get roped into all the shiny features as I did. Although who knows, maybe I'll use more than I think.

Kelly - I bought a Polar F11. I had a limited selection of Polar items from the people I bought it from, and this one fit my needs. I could have probably gone for the F6 and saved a little money. I just liked the idea of the fitness test that comes with the F11 (even though it ranked me Very Low). I'm hoping that something like that will encourage me to improve it. I love it after only one day. I wanted it so when I start swimming I can do some exercising in the pool and compare how many calories I'm burning (as opposed to the treadmill). I'd like to do some non-weight bearing stuff in the summer, but want to make sure I'm keeping the intensity up.

Roni - Happy Birthday!

Rhonda - yes, you would have to actually work out. Some of them (including the one I bought) you can set your workout schedule and have it remind you! Mine is fairly flexible time-wise, so at the moment I'm not using that feature.

Well, since my breakfast has settled perhaps it's time to strap the HRM on and hit the treadmill. Have a great day everyone.

All this talk of saving energy and resources...I want to get a thermostat with a timer so it's not running all day while we're at work or even as much at night while we're sleeping. I don't always remember to adjust it before I run out the door in the morning, so I think this will be a good solution.

We're gradually getting new kitchen appliances--starting with a new microwave. They'll all be more evergy efficient than what we have. We'll eventually be getting a better washer and dryer, too.

We're having our water heater replaced son, and we're thinking of going tankless. This helps to save energy by not working to keep the water in the tank hot when you're not using it--instead, it only heats on demand during use. We'll see if it's feasible without too much expense to change wiring or gas lines currently installed.

We're buying an electric lawn mower tonight. Not only because it's "greener" than a gas-powered one, but also because it's just easier for me to use

Quick to everyone!

I'm going to be offline majority of the day so I wanted to let you know that I did get a chance to answer some of the FAQ's some of you posted. If you're still unclear about anything, please make sure to ask it in the FAQ thread.

Gotta run! Need to finish some things at work and update my fitday!

"See" you all at the final weigh in finale tonight!

Morning Everyone ! ! Happy b-day Diva. Welcome everyone who is new!

I'm happy to report being in a better frame of mine this morning. Sorry for being so bummed yesterday.

HRM - I have one by "Sportline"....why this one? It was fairly inexpensive and You don't have to wear the chest strap thing. It has the basics - dual date/time, heart rate, alarm, chronograph, countdown timer, and calories burned. It's ok, but I am a gadget junky and will probably "have" to get a new one some time soon.

What else? hmmmmm, we have all the stuff for the gym in the car so we can work out on the way home. This should get us home before tonight's TBL finale. I usually DVR the show, but I think I will stay up and watch it tonight.
